Android-x86 | Crashing to bootanimation when using Nvidia GPU - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, so the problem is: everytime I do something that demands more of the GPU, the Androidx86 OS crashes (turns screen black) and restarts in the bootanimation, I looked on the internet a lot for any fix, with no luck. And when I use the onboard intel graphics this doesnt happen. So I turned to my trusting XDA Developers. Anyways, I want to run Ax86 on my PC to test the capabilities of an nvidia gpu in android games. I once used BlueStacks for this purpose, but when I stumbled upon the Ax86 project I wanted it to work. Because my PC isnt the most powerful machine, thus having windows running on the same time as BS dragged the performance a bit. I would like to test the newest titles on android games library such as PUBGM which is a very demanding game (I run it at balanced in a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with an Adreno 509 and smooth at a Redmi Note 4 with an 506 all of which are global versions). I saw a notice at the Ax86 site about Nvidia and AMD not providing the necessary tools to integrate their drivers in the OS or something of the sort, thus I looked at my hardware in the Device Control app it says my GPU is a noveau and my renderer is a Gallium 4.0 on NV106 (I looked up thia gallium 4.0 and discovered it is a legacy driver for AMD and Nvidia graphics). I was wondering if there could be anyway to use the Nvidia Tegra driver (I remember once having BlueStacks identifying my GPU as a Tegra). If im not mistaken the Ax86 site had instructions to modify the kernel, and someone in some forum said that this could be fixed in the kernel or something, but I am not such an advanced tech guy and I am a bit scared to mess about in kernels and such. I was wondering if anyone knows a way to have the OS ID my GPU as a Tegra or anything that will change this.

[REF]Info on hardware modules/ICS drivers

Here is a component manifest for the V, for purposes of building ICS
(THIS ISNT AN ICS DEV THREAD, IT'S JUST INFO: DO NOT ASK IF I AM MAKING ICS AS I AM NOT)
CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250: In Qualcomm driver source
GPU: Qualcomm Adreno 200: Qualcomm released driver source
Cellular: ?
Power management: Texas Instruments tps65023: In Qualcomm driver source
Camera: Omnivision OV8810: Driver from different device?
Capacative Sensors: Synaptics capsensor?: Possibly in kernal source
Wireless: Broadcom BCM4329: Source in CM9 linux kernal
Accelerometer: Bosch BMA150: Driver source available
eCompass: AKM akm8973: Source in android linux kernal
Touch: Atmel mxT224: Likely requires port? (if the V is like the S7, the driver is badly mangled by dell) [Part of porting kernel]
Basically, once we get a reasonably working kernel, it might be possible to get a fully working ICS port (possibly including camera too) without having to port any drivers ourselves.
The V looks like a potentially very easy device to update to ICS, it's unfortunate Dell didnt bother updating it nor do we have many devs.
The mxT224 also supports more then the 2 touch points we currently have, but dell badly botched up the drivers for the S7 (which uses the same controller), and likely did the same for the V

Wanted::Comprehensive Custom Kernel Development Guide Needed

Hey Fellow XDA Developers.....Sorry I've to start this thread due to a reason that I've toggled everywhere in existing guides & Threads but I'm fed up that none of them is comprehensive or Correct...
OK I want some of the answers to (I guess extremely silly) questions
Q.1:: So I want to Develop a Custom Kernel on Backbone of Aurora and stock Linux kernel. Any possible way how can i extract, mod ;
edit and add and recompile it.... any specific tools, links.(already visited android authority)
Q.2::Can anyone tell me where i can find additional "".KO"" files(Kernel object libraries/kernel expander)
Q.3::Since most apps have a <uses sdk> so it means somewhere in /root directory the sdk is save right so latest android like
lollipop has new revision of sdk. is his possible to copy kitkat and lollipop sdk files to system from Android studio(I know this
is the worst joke or some sort of question asked by a fool but still out of curiosity of my never ending thirst of development)
Q.4::Nowadays I'm in a Quest to develop a Custom ROM since my phone is "NOT EVEN UNOFFICIALLY PORTED".I tried finding
my phones stock ROM[Panasonic P81][Xda Forum of P81 is totally Crap](Some stupid guy modded and made it worst than
sh!t).I heard Rumour that my clone "Cool pad 7320" has CM 6 or 11 Successfully installed/flashed but referring to the website
I tried and Bricked it. (Ironically I'm now using that modded coolpad ROM by Xdafirmware.com)
Q.5::Can U Tell if I can flash Stock Marshmallow Nexus image on my phone!!!!!!!![greatest question] I'M Die Hard Fan Of
Marshmallow And can Brick my phone infinite times getting it..
Q.6::What happens if I Replace my Stock kernel with original Linux (the pc one) (that im having.) . Will it work, add functionality ,or
brick it.

Most guides for this are found here,

If none there are helpful, then I'm at a loss for a suggestion. There's a lot of resources in that link. :good:
You are gonna run into a ton of issues. First off the chip that device uses never releases kernel source. So that will put a stop to your work real fast.
As for some of the other questions.
No you can't put a stock Linux kernel on the device. Kernels are made for each devices. They don't all work on every device.

And the original revision of Linux I'm referring is the one created by Linus torlavads that is backbone of PC platform of Ubuntu, KDE and many other operating system. OK Aurora kernel is out of date and no support is available but I'm impressed by or rather moved by its spects and I feel that it is fantastic kernel to start with....... I just want to modify and continue from where he left a full stop to support. Many user still uses Aurora and there exist a hidden community about it.I WANT TO PROVIDE THE UPDATES AND SUPPORT OR WANTED TO DEVELOP A NEW KERNEL. OK on my 15 day research over kernel I found it is best kernel with a negligible cons and many features to opt within. Tell me which kernel can give me 16+ Governors and 9 scheduler and 6 TCP congestion algorithm to play with. With NEON and selinux support init.d and best battery backup among other kernel without even compromising a bit on graphics and rendering......Tell me

I know what you are talking about and it won't work. Each device kernel is different from each other. Android is not the same as a desktop Linux set up. Also kernels differ from one pc to another.
As for those options you will have to add them yourself.
Again without the kernel source For that device being released you are out of luck.

Well I set to build it and yes I FOUND THE SOURCECODE FINALLY!!! although not for my board and device... While my device is Panasonic P81 and board is: yulong92_wet_jb9 the source was of Gionee Elife S5.5 same processor and features. But marked as board: vanzo92_wet_jb9
I don't think it will be issue, also found out that my device can support FDD LTE (VoLTE too) but needs a port from mt6595(helio x10)
[MT 6575 = LTE BASEBAND OF MT6590 + OCTA CORE architecture of MT6592 WHICH I USE]
So your help will be appreciated:good::laugh:

[GAMING] [RemixOS 3.0.207] Compatible/Incompatible Games List

Hi Remix Users,
This thread is open for discussion solely on gaming for the Remix OS.
The purpose is to share information, findings and/or fixes.
Most games work out of the box, but I've noticed some of the newer games based on Unreal Engine 4 don't work/run. (HIT, Lineage 2 etc)
While some Unreal Engine 3 based games work, others require the GLtools to make it run. (ex: Epic Citadel & Izanagi)
GLtools Play Store Link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.n0n3m4.gltools&hl=en
You can contribute by reporting working/non-working games (2nd Post), and/or adding findings/solutions to the thread.
Thank you.

Wrote the attached a while ago as an app abi checker/changer try running it with the apps you've posted. Some apps seem to work better with arm than x86 libs.
Run it as: applib {appname} --- remove the .txt extension from the file

Thanks!
Unfortunately, the games I'm trying only has arm libs. I think its just the Unreal Engine 4 that's not supported.. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Yea, you're probably on those. But could be a device/gpu specific issue.
To see the lib issue, download Sonic Dash - I think its built on Unity - last I checked it black screened/crashed before changing libs

Remix os is another awesome android player ,I was curious about it ,so I tried on my PC and find its very cool ,the installation and running of remix os is made so simple that I will proud jide and developers and so far so good but I have one suggestion that is gaming tool ,I'm happy that they include this toolkit since android gaming doesn't fully support keymap but its great and my suggestion is that why cannot add extra four site button and why not let its support mouse key control such as left or right click and anolog mouse move ,sorry for bad English ,and hoping its understandable
Thank you

Building Android for new device (Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite)

I am not sure that is the right section - so fix me if I am wrong.
I am looking for a bit help to build images for a new device, and
as specified in the subject it is: Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite
The device is using this spec:
Code:
PLATFORM
OS Android 7.0 (Nougat)
Chipset Qualcomm MSM8940 Snapdragon 435
CPU Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53
GPU Adreno 505
I guess I have to use some special build platform or VM emulator to build
for this particular CPU / chipset, so any good pro advice will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
