LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Third Party Addons/Mods
While we have no issues with people using supersu/magisk/xposed/custom kernels etc...
We can't provide support for users who have them installed.
This thread is not the right place to discuss about mods/addons.
NOTE: Check your touchscreen panel. If you have a Focaltech panel download v2 and if you have Goodix download v3 for DT2W.
Installation
Boot into Twrp.
Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> Data / Cache / Dalvik&Art Cache / System
Install -> Find the rom package and select it.
Download
v2 -> DT2W For Focaltech Panel
v3 -> DT2W For Goodix Panel

I was about to asking the same, but I guess it matters only when you use dt2w. IMO thats a totally useless feature, but it depends on personal preferences.

Little bug: In Settings > Sound, when you try to change the default Phone, Notification or Alarm Ringtone, the system doesn't list the default file manager (the Files app with the green icon) so is not possible to navigate to your folders and choose your own ringtones.
I'had to search and install another file manager (Amaze, since RootExplorer didn't work either) to choose my ringtones.

dt2w is working but
I cannot reboot to recovery with the june lineage releases (I tried lememelord's release too),
when selecting "reboot to recovery" from quickreboot app or from the advanced reboot menu
all I get is a normal reboot instead,
I can reboot to recovery using the buttons (power and volume up though),
if I restore the boot partition from my previous lineage backup reboot to recovery works again
but my wifi doesn't!
any suggestions?
edit: I installed flykernel and reboot to recovery worked!

low sound while phone calls
As I noticed all customs build on AOSP or Lineage have that issue that vol+/vol- do not increase or decrease sound while one have a phone call and the voice in headphone is quite poor. Please, make it better.

you can install custom kernel or kernel adiutor to add boost to specific sound devices.

Thanks for your reply but I've installed two kernels from http://en.miui.com/thread-2904568-1-1.html and non of them worked, still buttons vol+/- don't work. Any other idea how to solve my issue?

Total Commander worked for me as well, also if you copy the ringtones and notifications you want to use to the correct folder on the internal memory, the default selection window will list them.

the redmi note 5a with his ****ing camera that blocks development is disappointing

1gb? it's less than that, I've got around 700mb (max),
but it depends on the apps you're using too

300 mb, but freeing up memory under load is faster than on stock.
