LG V30 plus at&t (factory unlocked) showing red userdebug watermark that wasnt there.
Hey guys, my father purchased an LGV30 + on ebay about 8 months ago. Seller had it listed as new but with no original box and said it was an at&t model but factory unlocked. Phone hasnt given him any problems till about two months ago. It now has a red water mark on the homescreen that says "userdebug" along with a date and other numbers and sometimes goes into a blue boot screen and says you can skip by pressing the volume button. Phone still works, but it wasn't doing that before. I saw a thread on another site with other lg phones and how to remove that but couldnt find anything for th V30. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] GT-I9000M from Bell: weird replacement phone (Look like a prototype) can't update

Hi Everybody.
Little weird story for you and a question at the end
I'm one of the choosen Canadian Samsung Mob!lers and as a Mob!lers I Won a GT-I9000M from bell.
Since I got the phone (August 26 2010), The battery was really bad. I mean 2-3 charge a day!!!....Spoke with Samsung Many time (Well those in charge of the Mob!lers program) and finaly 3 weeks ago They told me they will ship me a new phone. (everything has been done internally without Bell assistance)
Then, a week later I receive a replacement phone and here's what is weird.
Instead of the "Galaxy S" branding on the back cover in the bottom, I Got "With Google" in the middle and Samsung on the bottom of the back cover.
That's not all. Instead of the QR code on the bottom right of the battery I got "G7" and the battery fabrication date was 2010-5-30...Phone had been released in the middle of August and my actual battery say it has been done on 2010-08-11 (like 2 weeks before I got the phone).
When I charged the new phone I discovered It was used. Even have an SD card inside it. On the SD card was a 9 sec video where I could see the user trying the Camera option while in a kind of Samsung meeting. I could see on the table in front of him the phone box and it's way different than Bell final box (huge and white instead of Black and Small)
But there is more to it....
When trying to update the new phone with Kies I got the following message
Model Name: GT-I9000M
Current Version: PDA:JG9/Phone:JG9/CSC:JG9
This Device's Version Cannot be updated
I found on some website that it's a wrong translation for "there are no update at this time"...
But If I plus my current phone that is up to date I got this message:
Model Name: GT-I9000M
Current Version: PDA:JH2/Phone:JH2/CSC:JH2
The lastest version is already installed on connected device.
So there is a message for up to date devices.....
I Feel I have kind of a Demo Phone for the Bell Network before they Launch the phone to Mass Market. Kind of an internal Test phone....
It's been 2 weeks now since I got the phone and on the first day I wrote to Samsung about the phone I got and all the problem....still without news....
So 2 things here:
1) Do you know what kind of phone I got? BTW IMEI 353285040007270/03
2) Do you have an idea hot to bypass kies message to upgrade it anyway?

[Q] Help- Sam Cap sudden lock

New to forum and not quite a noob at phones but close.
Samsung Galaxy Captivate Glide SGH-I927R GSM bought unlocked of Ebay from everydayhotdeals. Phone worked flawlessly on Straight Talk (ST), switched to ATT in Jan thru March and back to ST with no issues. Couple days ago I phone wanted me to "Enter Network Control Key Code". I don't have one and can't seem to get one. Ebay seller seems to be out of business on Ebay although a search I can still send him email which I did twice and no reply.
Andriod 2.3.5. Boots up with Rogers flash screen before the Galaxy screen.
unlockthatphone, com failed to get a code after 24 hours of trying. ATT said it's not a phone they ever had control over (no ATT logo on phone) so they cannot get me a code.
I have tried two ST SIMMs and an ATT SIMM with same message.
I am hesitant to go rooted and hacking but will do so if that's my only option other than having a new paperweight.
I am sure I forgot some detail so please ask away. I tried to be concise but thorough.
HELP!

Multiple Personality V10 -

tl;dr: H962 thinks it's a H961N and doesn't want to update. How to fix?
A couple of months ago my V10 bootlooped. It was a H962 purchased from a grey reseller meaning LG in Australia (where I am) and LG in Taiwan (where the phone was from) both vehemently refused to service the phone. All this was within 6 months of purchasing the phone. This wasn't too surprising, however strangely enough, the grey seller agreed to fix the phone (after constant harassment on my behalf). As the phone was dead, I figured it was worth risking money on postage so I sent it off and after several months (and after more harassment by me) I finally got it back, fixed.
A few months passed and I noticed it wasn't receiving any updates so I dived into the settings and realised that something fishy was going on - the phone reported it was now a H961N - keep in mind I purchased a H962 to begin with.
The software thinks it's H961N however all the branding on the back of the phone says H962. I'd assume they took the guts of a H961N and stuck it into my phone but LG Bridge reports it as a H962 when I try to update (although it fails).
Updating using the update centre does nothing.
Updating using LG Bridge comes up with errors.
Updating using LGUP comes up with errors.
I've tried various versions of KDZ & TOT for both models using various methods and they all spit out errors.
Attempted on both a Windows 10 machine and a macOS machine.
All the latest drivers and software downloaded from LG.
I've tried yelling at the computer, phone and neighbour's cat and nothing works.
(Oh, the reseller refuses to answer any of my emails. Legally they don't need to and they didn't even have to fix the phone to begin with.)
Android security patch level is June 2016 which has me paranoid. Is Russia now watching me eat pizza in bed in my underwear? Are they recording my every move? Does the Kremlin judge my choice of pineapple on aforementioned pizza? I'd like to update to the lastest version possible to help stop all of this... but how?
Unrelated note, thanks to this phone I am no longer a fan of LG. This is the second boot-looped phone I've had and I've had to replace the rear lens cover for getting scratched so easily, replace the speakers for blowing up after a drop from a table onto wood floor (aren't these supposed to be tough) and the phone stopped vibrating (easy fix but I can't be bothered buying the parts as they aren't locally available). I should retire the phone however it's still a tough little beast so I'll keep on going until it refuses to stay alive.
Your phone is refurbished my friend.... Any wrong update and you will get into a bootloop
Problem fixed after some more lengthy digging.
I refused to accept the unhelpful "it's refurbished so it can't be done" answer as it made no sense given the fact that it wasn't on original firmware, suggesting an upgrade was performed prior to it being returned.
For those people in the future wondering, evidently there are 3 versions of H961N (I was under the impression there were 2). The phone wasn't returning the proper version code. Updated with the proper kdz and everything is fine. It still reports it is both H962 and H961N and likely won't ever auto-update.

Canadian G5 or Att

I purchased a LG G5 from local mall vendor in sarnia canada selling used cell phones. He told me it was unbranded, carrier sim unlocked At&t vesion and therefore able to unlock bootloader to root.He said it has canadian firmware version of nougat v20c.Long story short is i got it home and think my new phone is actually a H831 vesion. So i downloaded a random phone info app and sure enough it said hardware version is H831.Question is.Is the any other way of finding true hardware?I pulled the battery and all i see is on bottom left corner of battery holder it says ATT.Help please. If i cant root this piece of .... Cananadian model then i have no interest in this phone
So no one can even tell me how to physically check my model number. This phone is about to get thrown in the lake.Im seeing there isnt much knowledge on this phone at all.Any other user forums out there?
The att version has never been bootloader unlockable. I don't think the 831 version is either. So does it really matter which one of the two you have since you can't unlock either one?
Crap ok thanks

Lg v60 verizon 5G UW

My Verizon 5g , the UW does not show up next to the 5g when I know im on an ultra wide band area. My Samsung S21 proves this s s its UW icon appears.
The LG appears to be on the ultra wide band when I speed test. Its just annoying that it won't appear at the top of the phone.
I've reset the network in settings and updated the phones software.

Mine always reach 5guw but I got a replacement phone from the insurance company and it never reached 5G and it won't even update to Android 11 and they won't do anything about it. I swear because the phone is paid off white when the LG V60 came out so I never had any phone payments and then never quit to help they just said to me the phone gets the best signal I can From The Towers which basically means the best I can pull is 4G it's very aggravating and I tried to update my phone a million times on my own with my laptop with several Verizon text they told me to call my insurance company and get one more replacement and then they'll take the next steps to help me fix it. I called the insurance company and of course they say Verizon does not authorize replacement phones for any Network signal or software issues go figure I'm screwed no I just got to get a completely new LG V60 and I hate having the . I just learned of something called the LG Bridge I'm going to look into that and see if that will help me update the software I've tried it 20 times and it says failed every time and I've had the phone at 100% battery level I did it on Wi-Fi I even used it on my laptop with the Verizon Upgrade assistant. I got a feeling I'm going to have to buy a new LG V60 5guw from obviously Verizon and I hate having a new phone and having it back everything up. Besides I have the LG 5 it was the first phone ever to have the seat charger with the detachable battery it was amazing. And now this LG V60 was the first phone to come out with two screens and the 5000 battery and its features and functions still after 3 years I believe it's just as good as a Galaxy s22 Ultra and that's saying a lot how good this LG V6 phone is I want to hold on to it for another 5 years lol
