Hey guys I just got my redmi note 3 pro and I put the sim card the phone recognizes only the network name but I can't receive or make calls or anything, it says emergency call only. Is it a problem from the rom? Because the same network worked a friend but not the same rom. Should I go for other rom? I'm actually using MIUI 7.1 global rom

Try to update the rom. If it won't work then it's a hardware problem.

Dial *#06# to check if there is an IMEI number.
Also check the phone with another sim card, maybe yours is defective
