Don't use Aroma.
It's abselete and it installs stuff you don't want.
Reflash your ROM and then flash pico or nano GApps.

I think the gapps installer removes former applications from previously installed packages. Just try it!

There hasn't been any development to aroma in over 5 years, if I remember correctly.
That's what I meant.
It also causes issues in some cases, exactly because it's so old and things have changed since.

I don't know.
That's why I told you to reflash the ROM first.

Pico only contains Google core apps, Play Store and Play Services. Pico contains the least Google apps and more are included on every package as you go up the table from Pico to Aroma. Hope this helps

Aroma Installer not working in TWRP

I just downloaded the aroma package form opengapps and when i swipe to install the package the recovery freezes and the screen goes black and the led goes white. The phone remains like that till i force shutdown the phone. The installation works fine with all the other packages. Also I was trying with Aroma File Manager and same thing happend.
I'm using TWRP 3.0.2.0
Anyone?
Sent from my OnePlus using XDA Labs
Iirc there were bugs with TWRP 3.0.1 and Aroma, I also had the issue with another Aroma package.

me too, use other version instead
AROMA isn't compatible with our TWRP. Maybe AROMA works on older TWRP versions but nobody compiled older TWRP for onyx.

It should but we would need 2.8.6.0 in specific. Anything over that has issues. I can look into it if there is demand for it though I can't garuantee Aroma will actually work... It should though

Because aroma has some extra features
Maybe, if the our TWRP dev can add aroma compatibility
Here would be the official TWRP thread to ask such questions (already asked): https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...nofficial-twrp-3-0-2-0-recovery-onyx-t3471584
Have you tried an app? Like Idk flashify or something? Seems. Might be worth a go? Not sure never desired to do it lol

This can be tricky, especially in modern android where you have a choice to make: Do you want an almost all Google OS or do you want AOSP OS?
These days, when you install your gapps, it uninstalls the CM apps unless you only use PICO. (which is just the basic for playstore functionality) Google will replace stock apps like Calendar, Calculator, Launcher, Browser, Clock, etc.
Personally, I try to limit Google and use AOSP, but the choice is yours.

No worries, there are a lot of hardware functionality issues. The camera doesn`t work etc...what can i do?
Go to http://opengapps.org/ and choose ARM architecture, the select 7.0 (android version). The choice of package is yours, but I personally like to use the aroma package. Even tough the touch functionalities sometimes glitch and I need to use the volume keys, you can choose everything you want, from apps to install to if you want to remove ROM default apps.

Thanks. Lineageos has too many issues. Which Custom Roms could you recommend? What about CarHD? I prefer AOSP. What i need : The Hardware should work, and google playstore that`s all.

I personally love ResurrectionRemix because of its stability and customizability. About LineageOS I can't say much, since I only used that for something like 2 weeks, just to test.
I agree RR is one of the better ROMs.

If you get that error while installing RR(or any other ROM), it means that the installer script checked if your device is compatible with that ROM and it is not. Did you download the right ZIP for your device?
I think you can also get that error if you didn't wipe the necessary partitions. Usually you need wipe "/system", "/data" and "/cache". Make sure to make a backup of them before wiping.

I´m installing the original firmware now. I wipe dalvik/cache, cache, system and data. Maybe it´s not. I downloaded the rom from the RR website. https://sourceforge.net/projects/resurrectionremix/?source=typ_redirect is this one compatible with S6?

Doesn't look like it is, as there are no version for S6 in there. At least I didn't found it. And I don't know where to find it.

I have recently installed the lineageOS on the phone but can't use any apps on it. All apps are crashing. Any suggestion?

Maybe you didn't flash the rom properly, go to the rom thread and read instructions provided by the OP. Also if you did follow the instructions and still it's happening it would be better for you to post it on that thread so that others using the same rom can help you out or the developer can help you out.

I have installed both gapps and the custom rom. I am able to download all the apps off the playstore but they don't run when I try to open them.

Okay , I think that gapps is not compatible or you didn't format :
-Dalvik / ART Cache
-Cache
-Data
-System
If still not working maybe your device is using J200G Exynos Processor and the custom rom are created for Qualcomm processor , so I read that it won't work for all J3 series . What is full Model of your device and what version of Lineage OS you are using ?
