I'de like to hide them as well. There is a way to use custom gallery, but I prefer stock gallery with option to hide this

Unfortunately there is no option to hide those 2 folders.

I hope there will be an option in future updates

Strange folder on root

Hi guys
So I installed a few different widgets and stuff today off the play store. I only installed ones that had lots of downloads like 100,000+. Installed a few and then uninstalled a few so basically I have installed and uninstalled lots of different widgets today. So now I've noticed a strange folder on the root of the phone just called d. I've attached the screenshot of that folder and also the contents. Does anyone know what this might be?
Second thing I've noticed I also have 2 apps in my app drawer - Appcenter and Gamezone - see attached. There not apps in their own right as I cant uninstall them as there not showing up under app manager etc. All I can delete is the icon form the app drawer - when I try the uninstall of the app from the app drawer it says the application cannot be found- remove from app drawer? All advice appreciated.
The AppCenter and GameZone things appear to be part of GO Launcher... I'm guessing their latest updated today added them to the app drawer.

Cool thanks for that - thats one of my issues sorted then!
Is this confirmed? I don't want to unnecessarily wipe my phone.
I also have those two apps in my drawer. And since there are active, but not uninstallable, i don't trust them... I also have the impression those app are eating up memory since my phone looks to be much slower. I did check taskmanager, but see nothing special. How do i get rid of this ? Any help welkom ! Thx

Is there any way, I Can expand the notifications with single finger

Is there any way, I Can expand the notifications with single finger in Redmi Note 3, This is a huge phone and all the time to see the contents of notification , have to use two fingers. Any solution to this?
Nope. No way to do this.
Maybe you could install xposed and try gravity box module. But that would require root and recovery.
Hit thanks if I helped you ?
It feels very weird to access notifications that way
nexus does, thats why

Yes, use Nova launcher, swipe down on home screen will drop down notifications window.
I'm using Nova, but my concern is notifications not the drawer.

He is not asking about opening the drawer, he is asking about the particular notification itself. Imagine you have received 5 messages from 3 contacts on whatsapp. On aosp you can simply swipe down on the notification itself and see those messages without opening whatsapp. But on miui it is not shown in expanded manner and over and above that you have to use both your fingers to expand it. This is really frustrating and it is one of the main reasons I hate miui. Pathetic notification system they have.
BTW I have moved to aosp v4 from the last 1 month. Don't plan on going back to miui.

If you have xposed, try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hartec.miuistatusbar (there is free version but outdated here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/miui-tweaks-xposed-t3329815).
There is an option to ALWAYS show expanded notifications. Not what you're searching for, but at least you can get a peak on your notifications.

Miui's default launcher have that also. Swipe down for settings/notifications and swipe up for search bar.

If on MIUI, use xMIUI module in exposed, it allows tweaks for statusbar like one click notification expand, always expanded notifications, QS tiles count increase etc.
Its from same dev who modded exposed installable zip for MIUI.

If you are rooted with xposed installed, then install xMIUI module. It has that feature to expand notifications on single tap, as well as to force expanded notifications. I have tried it and it worked well.

No, M also has that
xMIUI module for xposed will also expand notifications: -
Expand by touch
or by swipe up/down
or both of the above.
Edit: - Didn't read the thread fully before replying.
Why are people talking about MIUI nougat in Kenzo thread?

I don't quite understand your question. Do you want to put Google camera at your homescreen? or do you want to just change the icon of the Google camera?
Well if you want to do the first one, then you just have to drag and drop the icon at your homescreen, and if you want to do the latter one then you should install a third party launcher.

Hello Digigoon,
I would like to do the same as iMaxime.
We do not want to change icon in HOME screen, we would like to change application triggered by LOCK screen icon.
That is... we may not be able to have the fast picture feature in-build in Honor camera app, but we would be able to launch the third-party camera app from the lock screen. May be more complicated than that, but could you please help us? Is this even possible?
Cordially,
Xavi

As far as I know, you can't do that with stock ROM (or any that isnt customizable on that way). You'll need to download a launcher or an app do costumize your lockscreen

You may try and freeze the native camera app and install the app you want. If there is no FC, then any shortcut will lead to Google Camera as it will be assumed as the default (only) camera app.
I´ve removed myself some useless system apps and some others just can´t be removed. Never tried camera.
Settings > Apps > Advanced > Default App Settings > Camera.
If you change it from there, doesn't it get changed from the lock screen?

You can use a method described by Paul O'Brian but you will have to dig for it a bit.
I don't recall specifically but he used something like
pm.hide.something
To hide the native app and use the one you want. After that, it will use your custom app.
Tag him in the post and he can clarify more.

UI questions

Hi, I'm bought this phone recently and my previous one was a galaxy S5.
So when I moved to poco f1 a lot of features were missing so I have several problems:
1. I noticed that I can't see notifications (like whatsapp) in the notifications bar AND in the lock screen.
2. I can't open new folder in the launcher (only in the home screen).
3. notch disable.
Can I fix these problems somehow? (New rom?something else?)
please help me! I'm getting frustrated with this phone and I just bought it...
Thank you!

Yes for 1 and 3
Dont know for 2 but you get a laucher that alows that if the default one doesnt (I am on Pixel Experience so I can not check it)
Yeah Lineage OS fixes all the issues. You get notifications on the lockscreen and you get the icon for the first notification, after a 2nd notification comes in, it will change to a dot to show that you have multiple notifications. You can disable the notch by going to developer options and look for 'Simulate a display with a cutout' and select 'Hide'. I dont use the launcher that comes with it, I always install Nova Launcher, I've been using that launcher on all my phones for years. The free version is still very good, no need to buy the premium version. The included launcher with Lineage can probably handle folders normally, ive just never used it long enough to know if it does.

Not sure he it's the same, but with the curtana version - Swipe taskbar down, then down to expand again and swipe left. 'Edit' is the last button.
Unfortunately my Redmi Note 9S doesn't have NFC. I too was pretty disappointed after leading to believe it did have it after reading many misleading reviews on different websites. Is is still a brilliant phone though.

Apologies, about that, very odd indeed that there isn't an edit button at all. I wonder about the lack of NFC function on your device too. I'm pretty sure one variant of this phone has NFC, but it's definitely not available on the 9S.

oooook, i got it, then.
4 more days till unlock and heeeere comes Xiaomi EU on it. I will check then, because i'm too lazy to reinstall all the programs before unlocking
I will update if the problem is solved then.
Thank you for help.
This problem has got something to do with dissimilarity between AOSP quick settings edit icon and MIUI quick settings edit tile. If you are coming from an AOSP based rom, and recover backup from cloud, quick settings backup does not have a backup of edit tile, and MIUI does not have the edit icon, so you end up having neither of them.
Best solution I could find was to setup adb on your pc and pass the following command:
Code:
adb shell settings put secure sysui_qs_tiles default
Credit: keith0029 (Mi Community)
Quick settings icon
