Stuck in logo after rebooting. Can't flash a rom either. - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

So today I was looking at memes on Reddit and the pictures stopped loading. I was almost out of storage space so I thought maybe it had finally filled with memes and that a restart would delete some temporary files (?).
But after the restart it's stuck on the booting animation.
I am using Lineage OS 8.1, been using it since April with no issues.
I'm trying to mount it so I can copy the files but there seems to be some issue:
If I plug it in while stuck on the animation it doesn't show as a file system
If I use my desktop (Win 10) and plug it in using the mount option in TWRP it doesn't show up either
If I use my laptop (Win 10)and TWRP mount it shows up and I can seem to delete files but I can only access the sd card and I can't put files in there
If I use my laptop (Manjaro Linux) I can mount the drive and list all the files but I can't read or add anything.
So... I can't copy my files, I can't update to a new ROM and I can't boot.
I also tried using "adb devices" on my desktop pc but the phone doesn't show up in there if I'm in fastboot. It only shows up in recovery and bootloop modes :S
No idea what to do here.

Hey! I don't like asking this but... did you try switching your phone off and turning it on again ?
Okay, if you can access TWRP then try wiping dalvik and cache and it might just do the trick!
Also, try removing the SD card if you have one and restart. Corrupt SD cards can be the culprits behind implausible errors. Another thing you can try is draining battery to 0% and charge completely and try switching the phone on again.
Now these are just some easy and dubious fixes that might work and most likely won't. But just give it a try. If that didn't work we can try something else :
If you can access TWRP which I think you can because your phone is stuck at "boot animation" and not the boot logo. You can simply flash another ROM. I don't understand why you say that you can't do that.
1. Just take an SD card, copy any ROM you want to install.
2. Insert the SD card and reboot to recovery.
3. Flash the zip and you're done
If I'm missing something do let me know. Good luck!

Hero RecoveryROM wont detect via usb, SDCard not mounted etc!! Help please?

Hi, people...
Just wondering if there is a way out of my situation, last night I installed the latest recovery image (RA-hero-v1.5.3.1), prior to that I put the latest Villian Rom on to update, but I think I messed things up, with some of the new menus in the Recovery rom as I accidently hits a few things :-(
Messages I'm getting are on almost every option I try is : E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0 (no such file or directory)
and
E:Can't mount SDCARD:/nandroid/
If I try any other options aswell I get "Error: Run 'bart' via adb" which is no good when I get the adb messages as for some reason my windows 7 pc has stopped detecting the phone in adb mode?!
The normal Hero bootloader get's detected fine in windows, is there anything I can do here to restore the system. I think some messages flashed by saying missing image! Which don't sound good.
Any ideas on how I can fix this?
if you have access to fastboot as you say, I'm sure you could fastboot recovery (just in case there's some weird issue there), then format the SD card and restore from a nandroid backup on your PC (I hope you took a copy of the backup on a PC).
Other than that, you might need to wait on someone like kendong2 to spread his words of wisdom here, as he seems good at solving stuff like this.

Thanks for the advice, my heart started pounding very hard when you mentioned about the nandroid backup being backed up! Luckily, I done an SD card backup a few weeks ago and found the folder, phew.
Sorry for being a little foolish, but when you say do a fastboot recovery how is this done in the bootloader, i'll search google in the mean time. To format my sd card im going to have to get usb adapter I presume as you can't format the SD card from bootloader? Correct me if im wrong.

Thanks for the reply. Nothing comes up at all anymore, I can't see any changes when I plug in the device under recovery mode, and even when selecting the USB-MS mode, nothing is detected or shown on the USB devices list. However, when I first tried originally it came up with the device not recognised.
Got to get myself a SD USB adapter first to format the card.... so I'll give that a try.
Ok, got myself a USB adapter to format SD Card, i've put my backup of everying back on. I now understand about how to use the fastboot command via command prompt etc....
Where do I go from here? What commands to type etc.. I've looked at the options but cannot seem to use flashall command succesfully.
The device is listed when typing fastboot devices, so I take it that's one good thing for a start!
Again, thanks for any help with this.
Just another question does the SD card have to be formatted specially? Ie partitioned etc... perhaps this is why I can't get it mounted under the recovery options. Because I accidently done one of the partion options and from then on I had all the problems.....

[Q] Unable to access my SD card and some boot looping problems

hi guys ... im not sure what exactly is the problem so i will give as much detail as possible :
i just flashed to Cyanogen Mod 7.0.0 RC4 with radio 7.05. the problem started when after i want to upgrade to 7.0.2 of CM7. i tried going into recovery as per usual but instead of the terminal showing up normally, it appeared for a split second before dissappearing and shows me the triangle with ! sign ( when the terminal dissappeared , my windows popped up some unable to install qualcom drivers ... i don't know what drivers they are .. but i think its USB )
i tried to reboot by taking out the battery and putting back in, only to be stuck in a boot loop.
I am able to get out of the bootloop by connecting the usb cable and either going recovery ( where it wont even show the triangle with ! sign , it will just power on normally , loading CM7 ) or going to "clear storage" and choose "no" while usb is connected , it will reboot and start loading CM7 as per normal.
so after it loads CM7 RC4 normally ... i tried going into my sdcard to re-place the 7.0.2 zip ROM but i cant even connect to my sdcard via USB ... in settings it showed "Unavaliable" and there is an erase option but when i tried to use it ... it only shows "SD card removed"
i know this is a rather complex problem but i would be greatly thankful if you can help me out. Thank you guys so much!
To summarise :
Bootlooping unless connected via USB and going into recovery / choosing no when asked whether to clear storage
Unable to access my SD card when successfully booted up
if it helps* ( i think i wiped ONLY the dalvic cache ( no cache/factory format ) before the recovery terminal dissappeared ) , treat this info as volatile ... i can't remeber if this statement is true or not.
Sound slike sd card failure...WHY?
If your using an ext partition some apps or cache are there, therefore failure of sd can make a bootloop..
Plus not booting into recovery properly could mean it cant use the update.zip to boot recovery..
Try another sdCARD see if that works, ive killed 2 cards and had similar problems
... and remember.. No questions in Dev. section...

[Q] My tablet bricked need help

USB port not working, so I cannot connect to the computer to do nvflash or adb.
Getting android.process.acore has stopped message after start. I have the stock update.zip in the internal sd card because of which every time i do a recovery it trys to install the stock update and throws teh FC error. Not able to get past the FC error. Tried putting the clock work recovery in the external sd card but because of existing update.zip in the internal sdcard, external is not read.
I am not able to get past this. Any help is appreciated.

What makes you think your USB ports are not work...maybe you haven't downloaded the correct stuff and configured it correctly (adb & apx drivers).
Go here http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com/ and follow code red. Follow the instructions step by step & download everything from the links on the site. If you still have a problem, post a message on that sites forum.
Al

Don't take this wrong...just asking questions to try & help out. You would only see an unknown device if you had not installed the drivers (apx and/or adb). Once you have installed the adb & apx drivers for one gtab it will not be unknown. Are you sure you are entering apex mode correctly...hold power+volume - ? Screen will display 3 birds then go black!
Yes. I went to the apx mode correctly. Still did not see my device recognized.
I am looking for a solution for bypassing the FC temporarily or to clean the internal sdcard. once the internal sdcard is cleaned, i can use the external sdcard to do the clock works mod and go further

Take a look at this thread & see if it helps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853537&highlight=android.process.acore
I am not able to get past the android.process.acore error. I think i will be able to fix it only if the usb drive works, i am going to call viewsonic and see if they will take it in for warranty repair.

[Q] Bricked?

I may have messed up the flash steps when I was trying to flash SuperNexus from Froyo? So I did the following first:
Make a Nandroid backup
Then I put those two files on the phone with the following adb commands:
adb push SuperNexus-2.0-vibrantmtd-BUILD4-update2.zip /sdcard/
adb push gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip /sdcard/
After that I did
Do a Wipe/Factory Reset
Now I'm lost at the following step:
Flash SuperNexus ROM
On the CWM recovery interface, now when I select
install zip from sdcard
and then
choose zip from sdcard
I can't find the sdcard directory from the long list of directories such as Android, DCIM, data, external_sd, voodo, etc.! Where is sdcard?
Is it because the Nandroid backup didn't back up those two files (SuperNexus and gapps) because I did them backwards?
Now the screen only shows an open trash can with the Android logo, and it does not response? Is the phone bricked??? What can I do now?
Someone, please help!
When you click choose zip from sd card that takes you to your sd card and every folder contained in it. I usually just download ROMS with my phone and it puts them in the download folder. So when I "choose zip from sd card", then everything is in the folder "download". Next time either download with your phone or connect to your pc and put the files in a folder you will remember, example : sdcard/download. If you have pushed with adb then it might not be in a folder at all, I'm really not familiar with adb, maybe they were put in a folder named adb? I'm not familiar with the screen you speak of either, but it sounds like you have soft bricked your phone. Go back to stock with this guide http://rootzwiki.com/topic/605-guid...nja-apps-everything/page__p__11106#entry11106 if you are indeed soft bricked.

Just plug in you usb select mass storage and copy it in the main memory(where Android, DCIM, data, external_sd, voodo exist ) not in the External memory.... the other procedure rather than adb pushing was correct... this will be fine.:good:. try again and let us know if you passed well..... for being more sure put out your mini sd card from phone.....

Thank both of you for the kind suggestions!
It was quite scary for me since this was the first time I encountered such a scenario. After the soft brick, I managed to boot the phone into download mode many times, but the computer would not be able to detect the phone! Then accidentally I booted it into recovery mode, and the computer somehow recognized it. So I decided to just push the .zip files again with adb, After that everything went smoothly.
Now I'm fully enjoying JB!
glad you figured it out somehow... get used to it it will become easy to you when you do this again and again cause this phone can't be brick-able.. :highfive:

Noob mistake. Wiped data in TWRP - Including the OS

My G3 is a blank slate right now.
I put the SD card into my PC and downloaded the CM12 file and the Gapps file. Now with it back in the phone I can't find them. I click install > External Sd > nothing there.
Under "mount" it wont let me click the SD card.
Where do I start?
I would plug the phone in and reflash back stock and start over. But u could try mounting the the phone as usb storage and dl the files directly to it thn search for them on the internal storage since it wont connect to the sd.

Plug it into where and reflash it how? You have to ELI5. I'm reformatting my SD card now to see if it will recognize it.
Wow. I really had to go through some trial and error there. I spend the last few hours trying to get the ADB side loading to work. Trying ever driver known to man. I kept getting the no devices message. There was a specific order that it had to be done in order for it to be recognizing the device at the time of loading. Enable mtp > adp > plug in > side load.
I'm up and running CM12 now. And I'm ready for bed!
Since you have twrp installed, why not just get an SD card and put a ROM on it and flash? Seems like the easy way to me.
For future reference, was the phone recognized by adb when in TWRP? If so, did you try to push any files to the internal storage?
I did that once I just flashed a tot file then just rerooted I couldn't connect phone back with adb or anything
