New notification system ? "App icon badges" function is not the same as before
Hi everyone,
I am having a weird trouble with Galaxy S9+ notification system. The thing is, when I get new notifications (sms, facebook, whatsapp, etc.), I also get the number of new notifications on the icon of corresponding app. But when I clear my notifications from the notification tray (top of the screen), the badges on the app icon also disappear. It is kind of annoying for me, because sometimes I forget about new messages to which I decided to answer later, but wanted to clear my notification tray. My android version is 8.0.0 Oreo
Do you have the same problem, or it is just me ? Any solutions to this annoying function ?
Thanks

Well, as I understood, this is not the same on S8 or S7 with Oreo OS Maybe I'm wrong.
Nevertheless, it's still annoying. Would like to change it, if there is any chance

It's indeed very annoying. They shouldn't have messed with it, as it was working nicely

Hi All
Is there any solution for this ?
I updated my Note9 to Android 9, but problem still exists - when new e-mail arrives, I get badge notification on app icon.
But when I open e-mail app without reading new mail, this badge disappear, but I still have unread e-mails in inbox.
Is it any tool to bring back unread e-mails count ?
Thank you

Problem with notifications..

Hi there, I'm facing a problem with the notification in WhatsApp, when I get a message and let's say I'm chrome or any other app it's only shows the WhatsApp icon on the notification bar, but if I don't remember it wrong it should at leats show me something like new message from "anywho" and then the icon, or even give me the option to fast reply showing me the whole message but it's not doing any of this, only the icon and I have to draw the notification bar just to see who is texting me..
It's this the way it's supposed to work? Cuz is driving me crazy..
I have a Nexus 6p running last marshmallow stock build with July security patch, unlocked and rooted with EX-kernel and a theme called Milos using layers manager, dunno if that have something to do with it..
Appreciate any kind of help.

Whatsapp notifications on Android 6.0

Hi i just got updated to Android 6 and EMUI 4. The update has been amazing but there is one frustrating issue
Whatsapp notifiations arent working, there is no notification for a message ( no tone, no homescreen notification, no status bar whatsapp icon) There will only be a badge icon notification on the whatsapp icon. I have even tried restarting my phone but that only works for a few hours and then the problem returns
Pls help!
Known issue. We hope it'll be fixed in next updates.

Android Nougat Notification - Notifications Stays Unless Dismissed or Clicked On

Hey guys I just upgraded my Galaxy S7 Edge to 7.0
The problem that I am having is with notifications not going away. What I mean is before, when I got a text or email or instant message etc., I saw it on the notifications bar. Now lets say I didnt swipe it but I did go into my message and open the message or instant message etc it would take it off the notification bar. Now with Nougat They stay up until I either swipe it away or click on it to take me to that message.
Is this something I can fix or am I stuck with this new way of message notifications. Thanks
Weird...On our S7 store demos with Nougat, once you go into the Messages and the actual conversation in question, it does disappear from the notification drawer.

Hmm. Strange I wonder if there is some setting I'm not seeing. Opening up the email when you replied is still up there too

Notification sorting miui 12

Installed Miui 12 eu rom, now notifications are sorted by time instead of priority...
I have many persistent notifications and I intentionally set priority to minimal / 'trivial' so they stay at the bottom
I now have to search the notifications in the list and it's annoying.
Anyway to get it to the way it was?

Maybe try disabling this?
Not sure it made any difference.
Some of the apps did however stop "refreshing" their notifications and jumping to the top after a couple of times I opened them.
Some asked for permissions again...
There is just 1-2 apps that still do this.
ended up using Mi control center app
solves the notification sort problem + notifications aren't huge which I like and overall a very neat app.

nice app, but would be great if if worked correctly with custom quick settings tiles, like from Tasker, AutoNotification or Blokada.

Thanks for sharing. I have my first MIUI phone (coming from stock Android) and notifications in MIUI were driving me nuts. This app seems to return the stock Android behavior, hopefully there are no issues with it.
I still wish MIUI would honor the notification priority, what sense does it make to have silent notifications otherwise..
I am sorry for asking if it sounds silly, but how do we adjust priorities of notifications from different apps? Like I want some apps like text messages and missed calls etc to show on top of others in the list.
One more question, in Oxygen OS there was a feature of silent notifications, they were separated from the rest of the notifications by a neat divider labeled other notifications, they were collapsed by default and did not make a sound or splash. Can this be achieved in MIUI 12?
