Seems to be on par with the note 8. Could be my imagination but according to LTE Discovery phone shows slight less db signal.

How does the Samsung "Shannon" LTE modem stack up to the Qualcomm X20 LTE modem?

1st is my note9 on a dead network. 2nd is same and the fastest I ever had on my V20 but average was about 120ish Mb/s.
Winner note9. About a nickel better dBm on average but up to 10dBm better than V20. Better dBm than my than my note4. Note4 was my first phone to pull down 100+Mb/s, almost as good my V20 speeds.

When compared to a one plus 6. The note 9 gets a weaker signal. LTE speed are also lower. On the note 9.
THis is for the Exonos version.

I walk every morning at a state park that is right on the shore of lake erie and this Moto z is the first phone to not drop signal. (Verizon) All of my previous phones would usually show 3 signal bars at home, the moto z has 4. Went from the usual 103 dbm to 99 with the Z. Very happy with the cell reception. Wi-Fi seems pretty much the same. I might be able to get an additional 10 feet further with the Z before dropping a signal. The radios in this thing are excellent. For reference I have had HTC 8, LG G3, LG G4, GS3, GS5, GS7 edge, Note 3 and Note 5, Moto x 2014 and Moto x PE. I usually don't keep a phone for more than 6 months.

Got EU model and I'm very disapointed by the antenna. My career's network is good but just a thick wall will greatly reduce the signal. My former Moto X was better. (Regulation's fault ?)
My experience is the opposite: I am very satisfied with the antenna, the signal quality is improved with respect to what I got with the Sony Z1 Compact: the Xc stay connected to the 4G (still usable, even if with 1 bar) in the same place where the Z1c switched to Edge network.
(EU model)
My 2 cent!

you can't adjust the LTE Band and hence to be contended with whatever speed you are able to get. Is there anyway to configure the bandwidth in Qualcomm processor?

I have noticed a great improvement in my area for phone call strength - I live in a terrible AT&T reception area, I am keeping calls and not dropping them near as much as when I was using the Note 4.
I see no difference in reception with the N8 when compared to my S7E, and even my LG V-10. AT&T needs to do a little work in my area (Around my house mostly )
