OVERVIEW:
Unfortunately nowadays, many OEMs (including Motorola/Lenovo) do not include a useful file management app on many of their low to mid range smartphones, leaving file managers and file browsers some of the most downloaded apps on the Google Play Store. This is a simple yet comprehensive file manager app taken from a Lenovo tablet which is compatible with most Motorola smartphones, including the Moto E5 series. Also included, for those members who miss the Gallery from earlier Android versions, is a standard Moto Gallery App. Simply download the APKs from the below link, enable Unknown Sources under Settings>>Security, and install on your device. Grant the appropriate permissions when prompted and it's ready to go. Also, these apps will work irregardless of whether your device is rooted or modified.

Glad you found it useful. I wish Lenovo/Motorola Mobility would simply include this app on all their smartphones and tablets.

I have some of these files. But I am new to XDA so it's going to take me a little while to get settled on here and begin posting threads. Mainly, I own Motorola devices (Moto X4, Moto E5, Moto E4, Moto G4, etc.) and I have amassed a decent collection of firmwares and ROMs which I will share as soon as I get established on here.

Here's a version of Moto Gallery that's modified to fit in: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/themes/moto-gallery-motorolas-design-language-t3627008
Moto File Manager is available in the play store, but MiXplorer is another good option.

Right kinda scary to do that don't want to **** up another phone

Another thing you could add is an editor for build.prop and something to modify the content of a folder (for example adding apks to system, or adrenobooster in /system/etc)
I'm afraid that I can't help you finding servers or developing in php, but ask me if you need themed images, maybe I can do something, I'm not a themer though

Thanks for the suggestion, It's probably worth mentioning im learning php as i go and have only made a few php projects in the past.
I am pretty sure editing the build.prop file would be easy to do.
Adding APK's will be implemented from both a list of APK's and a browse your computer
Thanks for offering to design some themed images, I will let you know if and when i need some
Still need a server to run this on, Until then this will stay a WIP hoping some one on XDA will help out soon
EDIT: i know the design is lame, No html was used other than the necesary form html code but that will change
also please note, although i may be leaving xplay soon and getting a nexus 4 i will still try to maintain this kitchen and if for some reason i can't then i will let some one else take over , I will most likely make the kitchen for both xperia play and nexus 4 using a tabbed like interface
Maybe a touchpad fix injector?

If you have a good enough internet connection you could always host it yourself...
I personally host 4 Killing Floor servers, 2 CS:GO servers, 1 Left4Dead2 Server, 1 Minecraft Server, 1 Terraria Server and loads more - all from one Server/IP Address. Not to mention a private VLAN.
Or, from a quick Google search... This place seems 100% free, with unlimited disk space and bandwidth.
I'd give you access to my server but I'm also a little low on disk space myself. And with all the servers running, I only have around 512MB free RAM left to play with.
I also look months ago for a free web server (to test some php script, my laptop really sucks) and the best option that i found is Red Hat's openShift, you can use the 3 gears for only one application (eg php), and if in the future you need more power you can also buy some more gear

Hi yeah my internet is not good enough to be a server, I used to run a MTA Server from a vps but i gave up.
openShift doesn't seem to work with php from what i can tell.
Yes, you can use openShift as a php server (it is a cartridge not an application), i personally used it (also it must have php if you think a moment, application like cakephp or WordPress or joomla need php)
Also if you don't have problems with the Italian (you are from the uk, correct?) you can give a look to altervista, it is a little limited into his free offers and the support is mainly in Italian, but maybe it can be a good option

ADB support is never going to happen.... Atleast not in PHP, PHP is a server side language and ADB would need to be run on a client. Perhaps via JS or similar but i do not know nor intend to learn that, I do know very basic jQuery though

Hancom Office App

I thought this app was a MS office clone replacement for Polaris, so I bought it. Their website implies it can open docx, xlsx etc but it seems to be limited to their extensions. I tired the windows version at it works great. What am I missing?
Well, the reviews should have been an indication.

The reviews on the Play store indicate that you may have just purchased a pile of crap.
5 reviews, 2 1-star, 2 4-star, 1 3-star. Only one review is in English basically stating that this app does little more than basic text editing.
Sorry, you may want to try Quickoffice (it is free and owned by Google).

i don't know about version in play store, but the Hancom Office preinstalled in Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is really great. Very similar to MS Office, interface optimized for touchscreens, no problems with .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .rtf with pictures. Easily opens 90mb powerpoint presentations.
So please share apk if you have these models.

That's what I was expecting. according to the vendor an update is coming this month that will also be download able. In the mean time yes please share the apk
I found a file extracted from new 12.2 tablet, with 6 apks in them (3 viewers, one share, one says launcher, last one says widget). PM me, I'll send you the link. I couldn't get them working on rooted 10.1. Simple install didn't work. Moving them into system\app didn't help. There may be a check built in, to check the model number.

Yes same results. Perhaps a compatible version is on its way. From what I could tell running the windows version it was superior to other such Office clones. A key indicator is that it worked with check boxes embedded in a document as well as conditional formatting. Can't wait to give up my surface pro for a better experience (lighter, thinner, longer battery, no windows 8.1).
Hancom office video review. Though it is in Russian, but major features are shown, and it works quite good.

Got Hancom Viewer working on my Note 8 - 4.2.2. Nothing special nut works....
But main office from the dump wont work as - "HancomOffice_Shared.apk" is just for install, not launch even no sources there...some ôshared" smali inside...
"eMeeting_HANCOM.apk" is the main app to get office to work - it is Samsungized inside the app with all sources needed - but API 19 so no go for me to try on my current setup.

Here are the files from the dump needed to get run the viewer functions. No flashable zip - put files manually into system as it is in the file.
Launcher works, couple of files pdf, xls, xlsx i tried to view it worked - view only!!!
It looks like also editing functions and all sources are in those "viewer" aps itself, but Samsung probably do not allow to launch Hancom from "HancomOffice_Shared.apk" - in order to get editor suite to work(check AndroidManifest of both apks - one is INSTALL_ONLY!!)
- but "eMeeting_HANCOM.apk" its manifest states to get Hcell, Hword launched. If someone more skilled with some more time as i have could try to edit "HancomOffice_Shared.apk" in order to install and launch the Hcell, Hword - they both have almost identical "shared" smalis inside but eMeeting has some more Samsungized sources for some kind of e-colaboration/meeting sources.

It's not Samsung but the app self which requires Android 4.4. That's all... and it is already mentioned.

No No, it is possible to run, actually eMeeting is not needed and it is only one apk for KK.
Hancom will probably offer that app to everybody on the market - so lower android versions should work as well.
It looks like this Sammy version is a bit dependend on that widget.apk that is forcing MagazineUX layout to that widget - widget is displayed in my drawer of NOVA L. but actually does nothing - it should load recents docs etc....probably because of MagUx i also can not see single icons of Hcell, Hword like in that video review....
Those single viewers apks have also editor functions inside - when decompiled you can see.
I was able to rework that widget to launch in normal "hancom" widget style that will be probably be there for everyone else who buys it - i was able to see those 3 editor icons to launch (Hcell, Hword...) - but actually i just got a dialog window that said something like "We need to donwnload something from Hancom servers" and was doing nothing. There is also version check - i did not tried to rename my device to be NotePro in b.prop like i was doing with some other versions of Polaris Office in order to run another devices version on other.
I am not going to play with it anymore - i ll just buy it when available probably for cheaper than time spent with this. I am not that good at this - just posted if somebody better skilled might have a look. It looks nice from the review but probably will be same crap - will stick with Polaris+Kingsoft.

If it works anything like the windows version it will be a killer android office app. Polaris+Kingsoft are not complete enough as they cannot render some of my word/excel/documents correctly BUT Handcom did beautifully. I'm not savy enogh to figure this out I'm just hopefull the email I posted above comestrue w.r.t. a Note 10.1 release. Thanks for all th efforts

I have not seen anybody using freehand annotation in the app yet. Or is there even such function? If not it'll totally be 3 steps backward. It is a necessity for me to annotate ppt and word docs, like it does now on polaris

As was said above, Hancom requires Android API level 19 which is 4.4. We're on 4.3. Until that changes nothing much is going to happen. And who knows, depending on Samsung's licensing deal/costs with Hancom maybe we'll be thrown a bone and receive it in our update to 4.4/M-UX.
Any chance of rooting/CM ROM to 4.4 or will Samsung updates break?

[APP] PDF Reader for Android Wear (standalone PDF viewer)

Having PDF reader on a wrist is probably pointless for most people and there's none on Google Play for Wear yet but some people are asking for it and Android 5.0 makes it incredibly easy to create such app so why not? Here's first version of such app.
How to start viewing PDF on Android Wear?
Tap share from opened PDF file in Adobe Reader and select „PDF Reader“ (same red colored icon).
Alternatively browse to your PDF file in any file manager on your phone and open it in „PDF Reader“.
Within a moment, it will be transferred to Wear. (But transferring files as large as 50 MB will take few minutes.)
How to control PDF Reader on Android Wear?
You can use touch, double tap, pinch and even double touch drag („one hand zoom“) to browse your content. To move between pages, use the dedicated controls at bottom of the screen. Page indicator can be touched to enable dictation (for skiping to specific page number).
Please note that it's not really technically feasible to support reflow in this small and free app.
Technical notes:
This app is built upon Android's PdfRenderer (and PdfRendererBasic code sample). It also uses TouchImageView from https://github.com/MikeOrtiz/TouchImageView.
Download (Free, on Google Play)
As always, feedback welcome.

I was afraid of that. But the controls could still work, right?
I really don't know (and didn't find any answer yet) whatever I can detect the bottom gap or design the layout for both types of round devices (plus it can't be tested without real Moto 360). Maybe I will hack it just to include bigger bottom padding for Moto 360...
If you or some one else want, here's alternative version with all controls on top.
EDIT: No longer needed.
Thank's for the alternative version, now i can change pages on my moto 360. This is very useful app!

EDIT: Resolved
Nice and yes buttons are visible and they works.
Thanks for confirming. I've just uploaded this fixed version to Play Store for everyone to enjoy.

Currently there's no way for that. The one last received file is always kept on watch.
I see. Thats awesome then
Clone
Hi! I need help. I want to do the clone of this app (because I need more PDFs on my watch). But after rebuild the size of app is 3+ mb and my watch doesn't recognize it. How I can do the clone?
PS: Also, I want to change app name

It can display any pdf file - as long it fits your watch memory (4 GB). The only limit is for one file at any time. I would like to add some file browsing eventually but I'm not promissing anything...

As I say to you already, the app is great as it is.
You just need to find more easy and faster way to skip between pages.
By the way, how can I disable the invert mode? It's problematic when you try to do one hand zoom ( double tap and drag).

Yeah, it's problematic. I suspect an issue in TouchImageView which I use (or not, maybe just my implementation bug). I know about it and intent to investigate.

Can I install Legacy Windows Apps on a Chromebook?

Desktop apps on Chromebook?
Does anyone know if it's possible to install and use desktop apps on a Chromebook? Such as the .exe or .app format?
Sent from my ZTE Zinger AKA Whirl 2 using the free Tapatalk app.

This is quite an old post, I know, but CodeWeavers CrossOver is now running on Intel Chromebooks that have the Play Store enabled on the Dev channel.
This gives you a chance to run Windows apps (.exes - not .app bundles for OS X) which run under Wine. It is not released to the public yet, but CodeWeavers will let you sign up for more information if you visit their Android page.
Note that right now only two pieces of hardware are both Intel-based and have the Google Play Store enabled. Google claims more are coming, though.
You can run .html files. I have an .html page full of news links. I put that .html file, along with some associated gifs and jpgs, in my /downloads folder (on the local ssd hard disk) on the Chromebox and link to it from a Chrome browser bookmark. This works out great. So you can have a little more than just bookmarks for links.
