I recently purchased a REALME1 and now I have an issue. I use hotmail to save all my contacts/ calendar/ photos etc. and have added hotmail account. However, the contacts are not syncing. When I went to the setting "Accounts & Sync" and select my hotmail account, I do not get the option to check mark contacts, only option for mail is available. Please help.

When i try to sync with google contacts the contacts in the gmail account are loaded into phone.
But the contacts in my mobile are not showing up in gmail...

I have problems when i try to sync contacts form phone book with gmail account i receive next msg: "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly" i mention sync of calendar and gmail it's working fine. I use facebook sync with existing accounts too.
Just purchased a Streak running Android 2.3.3. I set up my gmail account on phone and everything looked ok. Mail and calendar appear to sync fine but only a few contacts synced. When I open Settings/Accts & Sync, the gmail account shows and sync is turned on.But if I open Contacts/menu/Accounts, gmail does not appear and if I try to add an account, gmail is not present as an option. How do I get the google contacts to sync?
If I remember right you have to go into your Google Contacts on a web browser and move all your contacts into your My Contacts area.

I discovered the problem. I had used Root Uninstaller to freeze the Google Sync application at the time I was trying to reduce the apps I didn't think I would need. Now everything in sync. Thanks
It's strange, but I want to sync only calendar and contacts with my work account (Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account).
In my old HTC Wildfire, under Settings-Account, I was able to choose what items I want to sync: calendar, contacts and/or email.
But with my new SGSII I can only choose calendar, contacts and task.
I can't tick or untick the email mark, it isn't.
It works well, syncing my email, but I don't know how to deactivate email sync and go on with calendar and contacts sync.
Does anybody know how to do this, is the diference the android version ? (if the cause is the version, what about ICS ?

i am trying to get the iphone 3G 4.2.1 notes to my gmail account.
I figured thats the easiest way to get it to the s3.
I found several guides and they are all the same and should work for iOS 4.
"On your iPhone go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If the Gmail account you're using with your Android isn't here, add it by going to Add account > Gmail. Go back to Mail settings, tap the Gmail account, and turn syncing on for Calendars and Notes. Within a few minutes, your calendar will transfer to your Android device. Notes will be sent to your Gmail account and filed under a label called Notes."
I did that but i cannot chose to sync notes. I can only sync contacts and emails. I also tried the imap settings.. i can never chose "notes" to sync to gmail.
Can someone please help me?

When you add an Exchange account, is there not an option for you to sync contacts?
Side note: for me, I do NOT have my Exchange account contacts synced, so my Exchange contacts do not show up in my Contacts app. However, when composing emails, the Intellisense in Email still auto-finds my Exchange contacts. So I find I don't need them synced anyways.
