After flashing the boot image the device is restored and all personal files are deleted,
that's why it's important to remember step 1.:good:

Currently there is no TWRP for A6 +,
this method is only to have superuser permissions.
After the factory reset only install Magisk.apk and you will have Superuser.:good:

It's not bricked, I think you need to reinstall a recovery. I recommend TWRP 2.5 instead of 2.6 because 2.5 has no bugs. Try to restore your nandroid backup (if you haven't any try one of these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2324815 and choose your cid) and then flash SuperSU: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
PS: you can use the tool for installing custom recovery, only choose ''your own recovery'' and click on the recovery image

It should go something like this:
1. Flash OTA. I used TWRP.
2. Reboot to bootloader. Reflash TWRP. Flash unlocked boot image.
3. Fastboot format cache and fastboot format userdata if coming from an ROM that was encrypted.
4. Reboot to TWRP.
5. Flash magisk, phh superSU.
6. Reboot.
7. ????
8. PROFIT.

The instructions are to maintain root when new OTAs arrive!
For now you don't need to refer them!

You need to unlock the bootloader first, then install magisk manager and flash the patched boot image via fastboot mode.

No device specific port is not yet available, I had flashed a couple of recoveries most of them resulting in bootloop. Some of them do work!

About maintaing root with an OTA. I assume you are talking about installing it via TWRP right? And when you say don't reboot (step 3) you mean after installing the OTA right? Also the option on step 5 will it be availble in the TWRP when I will try to flask magisk?
Thanks a lot
Edit - I use the TWRP from wzsx150 and I am on the 9.7.27 developer rom from xiaomi.eu

The process mentioned in OP doesn't require TWRP, the option 5 will be available in the magisk manager itself!
If you're a advanced user and have flashed TWRP you do not need to follow this method, just flash the magisk zip and you're ready to go!

Oh ok thanks alot!! Last thing should I reboot after installing the OTA via TWRP in order to flash the magisk or not as you mention in your method/guide? If this is off topic sorry

Once you install the OTA and reboot you will lose TWRP as it will be replaced by the stock recovery!
Simply flash TWRP back and flash the magisk zip and you should be good to go!

Will I lose data during the bootloader unlock process?
If yes what is the best way to backup all my data
Edit: Also need to know any precautions I need to take before and during the process.

Yes you'll lose your data during the bootloader unlock process, best way would be to backup all of your data on your PC first.
The only precaution is that you should be on Indian Firmware 10.3.3!

Great work! I cannot fully install magisk as I get bootloop everytime I install the zip in the manager (then have to wipe data etc). Im assuming this way I can say goodbye to TWRP and have a fully functional magisk
However, this would also work on chinese phone flashed with Indian/Global ROM yes?

Need help finding the right firmware for my p20 lite

Hi
I recently bought a p20 lite from Facebook and i think the previous owner must have flashed the wrong firmware. In developer options there is no oem unlock button, and i tried eRecovery and it didn't work. The phone is dual sim, some apps see as if the phone is rooted and when i check with root checker, there's no root. I'm from South Africa and i hope i provided the necessary information. I would like to downgrade the phone to the firmware I'll be able to get the bootloader code from.

Hi, just to be sure -
A) enter Project Menu (*#*#2846579#*#*) > 'Network info ... ' > 'Vendor country info'
B) In fastboot mode run command
fastboot oem oemimforead-CUSTOM_VERSION
and post the results.
Edit.: what was the reason for the failure with erecovery?

Thanks for the reply man.
Vendor country is hw/meafnaf. Secondly, I get oeminforead-CUSTOM_VERSION failed. When i did erecovery i got 'Getting package info failed' i did factory reset and tried again but same error.

Okay, try this way out:
1. Download Oreo Service ROM
2. Unpack it and copy dload folder (can be found in 'Software') to the SD Card (without unpacking it!)
3. Turn of your phone and use three button combo (dload method) .
The process will erase all your data!
