Firmware finder doesn't work anymore.
Your option would be FunkyHuawei, it cost money and it's not certain it even works.
B148 can't downgrade anymore, even with FH....
BUT, I will test a dload package I found to downgrade to B142, I will let you know how it goes. I just need to back up first.
With DC Phoenix you can. You must download from the support page of DC one of the initial images of the ROM corresponding to your device and flash by FastBoot. The phone will start with wrong data. After you start you must repair data from IMEI and region and once repaired the same soft gives you a new unlock code, and can be upgraded to the version that you want. The problem is the software is for payment

Ok. Downgrade works for 01 xloader (So not builds after B145).
You have to get dload firmware from http://androidhost.ru/search.html (Search for BLA-L29C 8.0.0.142), and an USB C male to USB A female OTG cable and a flash memory stick or as I used, a sdcard reader (8GB Minimum).
Download firmware, place dload folder on stick/sdcard and use either the DLOAD combo (Vol up + vol down + power + otg plugged in) or through ProjectMenu (*#*#2846579#*#* in dialer).
Verifying package took about 5 mins, then it changed to 5% and finally after a couple more minutes it went to 6% and continued.
I had to factory reset after, I think it's supposed to do it automatically, and not sure if it did as I wasn't there when it finished flashing, but I was bootlooping when I came back.
I just downgraded from B148-SP1 to B142 (I was actually on B150 but I flashed images manually through TWRP), bootloader locks after dload though so I have to unlock again.
I am on BLA-L29C432B148 { BLA-L29 8.0.0.148(C432) }. Can anyone help me downgrade so I can obtain bootloader unlock code from hcu/dc unlocker please.

You can't downgrade past B146 due to 02 xloader, so you won't be able to get unlock code.

BLA-L29C or BLA-L29 is the same. I think I've seen that C added after L29 in some documents I read so it might be some internal product thing. Only thing that matters is that it's BLA, L29 and C432. So you can download either one.
I suggest trying to download with jDownloader (with browser integration) as it's rather slow. Through browser I get around 600kb/s, with jDownloader I get 10mb/s, so worth a shot

Hi.. I have emui 10 on Mate 10 Pro BLA L29 bought from middle east. I want to go back to EMUI 8.0 as version 9 and 10 are supporting VOLTE services. Can you help me on this how to downgrade. I can go back to EMUI via Hisuite as there is a option to rollback but to EMUI 8 there is no rollback via Hisuite. Can you help ?

Scratch all of that.... If you're looking oy for a downgrade without unlocking bootloader and such hisuite should still be working. You just have to go emui 10 >emui9 >emui 8
Go through my post history if you're looking for a way to downgrade and unlock bootloader.
You'll have to pay + be able to open up your device in order to get it unlocked.
I think the name is : is it still possible to unlock the bootloader or something like that, via test point.

Sorry I'm not sure what to do in that case, can you tell me first why you are trying to downgrade?
If it's to unlock the device bootloader you can use the test point method. If you're not looking for that you can still use the same method but I'd personally try to get the hisuite working instead. I think I saw a thread like this before, where someone was asking on how to downgrade but I think they managed to successfully do it fully through the hisuite. I think there were no issues either so idk what might be the case. Can you share some screenshots or anything to see if you might be missing something on the hisuite page?

I have a Chinese Mediapad M5 and I'm looking to flash European firmware on it so I can access Google Play Store etc. I've seen some call this "rebranding".
Thanks to Apo11on's guides I've been able to unlock and root. I was hoping now I could simply flash a European firmware directly from SD card via download mode but it fails.
Any help would be appreciated.
So I think I've figured out what to do, but I'm unable to do it right now as I'm on the latest W09 C00 B124 build and the inbuilt software upgrade doesn't let you flash older builds.
Step 0: Make sure you aren't running the latest build. There has to be a newer version build for C432.
Step 1: Unlock bootloader
Step 2: Download your current C00 stock rom and extract the RAMDISK. This is a backup just in case.
Step 3: Download matching C432 stock rom for the same build. Extract RAMDISK and flash it. [optional: patch with magisk manager for root]
Step 4: Download newer C432 stock rom. Unzip and place UPDATE.APP in a folder called dload on your sdcard root dir (create this folder if doesn't exist). Update via project settings or download mode.
Does this sound correct?
I am trying to do the same for the SHT AL09 C00 LTE China tablet, I think you need to get the C432 oeminfo to rebrand, so far I know some one has only shared a C636 (Asia Pacific) oeminfo in the root thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/me...-root-guide-huawei-mediapad-m5-t3786157/page3) but it is 4 byte larger than expected.

Can anyone with a C432 (Europe) SHT AL09 LTE model to share their oeminfo, it can be obtained in adb shell as root by command: "dd if=/dev/block/platform/hi_mci.0/by-name/oeminfo of=/sdcard/oeminfo.img" AFTER rooting!

Ok that makes sense. Let's see if we can get C432 oeminfos for all 4 models - please upload if you can according to bear_alex's instructions above! Might help to mention the build number of the rom too.
I will update the first post with a full guide and download links when we have this solved.

I used the HCU client tool to change my version to EU, but still having problem with the rebrand. How do i get you the oeminfo file?

Could modify my file, but it didn't work properly. It shows me the region hw/eu instead of all/cn, but it changed firmware version number to 8.0.0.046 (86S) instead of 8.0.0.122 (C00). I could install 8.0.0.122 (C432) on it using Firmware Finder on Android. It failed to finish installation, but after I made a low level factory reset from the recovery menu, it booted. I have all of the international apps, Chinese apps are gone, but I can't update the firmware. So, the method is semi-working. Luckily the IMEI is the same. Will restore everything as it was before to start from scratch.

Is the country bit in the oemfile the only difference between the chinese and the interntional version?
Could i eventually try with the oemfile file for the 4G version SHT-AL09 or is there a risk of brick?

With the method I tried you don't need any other oemfile. I took an oemfile from Huawei Mate 10 and Madiapad M5 8.4" just to see as an example, what are the differences between my version and theirs. This script above decompiled all of the content, but you'll be able to modify only text tiles as there are a lot of binary files there, too. And the only thing I did is I changed "all/cn" to "hw/eu" there and compiled it back. So, you need just your own oemfile for it.

I want to go for a faster update ring, I even found a full_update_base zip for the LYA-LGRP2-OVS 9.0.0.320 but I cannot migrate to that.
I tried hisuite but it won't help... I tried reverting to an older release which is funny cause it downloads this folder : LYA-LGRP2-OVS 9.0.0.266 so I thought, I should be able to update... but no...

OVS are globale version and usable on L09 and L29 but flashing should be make with dload method. no over way. Keep it mine that safetynet will not pass coz it's not a C432 region specific firmware.

it is interesting though that the directory what Hisuite automacially created and downloaded for me so I can revert to a different version (emui 9.0)
was LYA-LGRP2-OVS 9.0.0.266 so if I have the C432E10R1P16 LYA29 why did it install this for me automatically? for me it would be reasonable to think that : LYA-LGRP2-OVS 9.0.0.320 should be working as well.. but I cannot install not even with the dload method.... even the 310 would not work with the dload version (with C432) I don't really understand it

Over the course of one month I've tried everything you said two times each, I even contacted Huawei local costumer service and they replied and I quote: "Judging by your IMEI number it doesn't appear that you have a Huawei device at the first place, that is why you don't get updates", so yeah, the phone that I've purchased from an official vendor with a relatively higher price than the free market isn't even registered.
Note: yesterday I tried to download a FullOTA ANE-LX2 EMUI 9.0. update via Firmware Finder and the download unfortunately failed.

FF won't help you, you can try get bootloader unlock code for 4euros on hcu-client.com , then rebrand your phone to global version. Or, buy Service ROM on easy-firmware for 17euros and upgrade your phone to EMUI 9.1 using dload method (yes, crazy ). Sorry, I can't help you anymore
P.S.: try a google search to find the method "patched HiSuite" or "proxy HiSuite", it may help you. Good luck!

The only issue after the downgrade, was the fact my phone didn't find any updates.
Latest update - upgraded to 1.57 by Hisuite Recovery. However the bootloop issue is still not fixed. IMEI is unknown and Camera has become upside down. I have very little chance to get support in my country from the service center where they refuse to support imported models and no option to send to UAE from where the model is from . Any tips will be highly appreciated.

Can anyone help me. When i downgrade my phone huawei p40 pro+ (model: ELS-N39) using hisuite and hisuite proxy. I forget to put cust and preload file in to hisuite proxy and i flash it. Now my phone camera image is upside down and phone restart automatically after 1 min or less unstop. And phone imei no showed null. Cust and preload is unknown. I think my phone is soft brick.. After that i tryed to do system recovery by getting base software and cust and preload from firmware finder (Example of file showed below). i try to flash it. Using hisuite and hisuite proxy phone on blootloader mode. when i click system recovery it give me error. your advice is not supported for system recovery.

Receiving 11.0.0.145 (C00E140R3P6) right now.
i received 11.0.0.145 via beta update about 2 days ago, Chinese model. i did not think that it was the stable emui 11. i tthought that the stable would have been based on Android 11 not 10

I did downgrade my P40 Pro+ using HiSuite Proxy.

I downgraded to 10.1.0.132 (C432) but now my phone doesn't find any updates. I would really go back to the latest version...

Well I was thinking of down grading in order to install google services, as reported by some that on latest firmware the method don't works. But I found the date trick and was able to install to on the latest firmware.
On your case I suggest to use .147 to update via HiSuite Proxy method.

But where can I find .147 links?
The link I sent you was the only P40 Pro+ firmware link I ever found.
And to be honest, I'm afraid I just installed a P40 Pro firmware. But I don't know how to check it.

This does not work for me. I got 10.1.0.144 and everything goes fine but when I try to login to my google account with browser mode, it tell me that there is problem with connection to google servers. Looks like google has managed to ban huawei users now or has anyone solution ?

Have you done the date hack as mentioned in the video.
Latest update - upgraded to 1.57 by Hisuite Recovery. However the bootloop issue is still not fixed. IMEI is unknown and Camera has become upside down. I have very little chance to get support in my country from the service center where they refuse to support imported models and no option to send to UAE from where the model is from . Any tips will be highly appreciated.

I had the same problem. P40 Pro firmware installed onto P40 Pro Plus. Hopefully I had access to support and got my phone replaced.
However, if you succeeded in updating your firmware with a P40 Pro Plus version, it shouldn't loop boot anymore. What firmware did you use ?

I have understood you can force upgrade with Hisuite proxy, but I'd like to return to "normal" automatic updates.

This is so frustrating. You have to find a way to reach Huawei support, even if you have to pay for the repair.
Where did you buy your unit ?

I used the following method to downgrade to version 10.1.0.132 :

The only downside is that it is not possible to update the version afterwards, but it works while waiting for a possible commercial release from the USA.
