Installation and Download
Important :
- This will void warranty.
- As of now you will lose Samsung Pay and Secure folder forever if you root once, even unrooting won't help. (hope in future we can get it working on tripped knox device)
- OTA likely won't work once you root device.
Installation :
If you are on stock ROM/Recovery, follow below said steps
1.Enable Developer Option (settings - about phone - Software information - Tap 7 times on build number to activate developer option in settings menu)
2.Enable OEM Unlock from developer option (If you don't have this option then read this you can't flash ROM before this option available.)
3.Download and copy ROM File to Ext SD card, Use ES file/Root explorer or any similar to check MD5, it should be match with provided in download section.
4.Download TWRP
5.Switch Off device
6.Press Vol down + Bixby and then connect device to PC to reboot to download mode, press volume up when asked to continue to download mode
7.Download Odin and open it, Disable 'Auto reboot' from option menu of Odin
8.Select TWRP (tar image) with AP tab of Odin and Start
9.Once Successfully flashed, you will see 'Passed' in Odin tab
10.Disconnect device and hold Vol down + power till screen goes off, Now immediately press Vol Up + Bixby + Power to reboot to TWRP
11.Select to allow modification
12.From TWRP, Select WIPE menu - Then FORMAT DATA - You need to type 'yes' to perform wipe. WARNING : This will erase all data including Int SD storage from device
13.Once format device completes, go back and select REBOOT' Menu and then - 'RECOVERY', This will reboot to TWRP again
14.Now select Install and navigate path to Ext SD card - ROM zip file, you have copied earlier
15.Read installation instruction of ChangeLog post for vendor.img It may be available inside ROM zip or may need to flash separately, depending on version of ROM
15.Let device boot, and read ROM specific Instructions below.
If you are on CWM recovery and custom ROM already, Follow below said steps.
1.Download ROM zip and place on Int Storage/Ext SD and check MD5
2.Reboot to recovery and select factory reset and flash ROM zip you have copied in step 1.
3.Let device boot,Read ROM specific instructions below.
Some ROM specific instructions
1. On boot, you will see a notification about don't use any app that requires root, wait till that notification to disappear. This issue explained in MustRead.txt file in download area. Also after first boot, wait for ROM Tool to open, it will provide option for some important fix.
2. ROM doesn't have any CSC included as now csc have separate partition (ODM). ROM will not erase/flash/modify files inside odm partition it and you will have your existing CSC even after flashing a ROM
3.Vendor partition may be included in ROM or available separately (Read changelog of version you are installing) .It is recommended to flash it specifically you are on different base.
4.Since Pie version, OEM is pre-fixed with kernel patch and after flashing ROM, you may find OEM option in developer settings but it will be disable, it is actually because of hack/fix applied. In real case if it is disabled then you may not able to boot rom with TWRP. Simply ignore it.
Read ChangeLog of ROM you are going to flash for any specific instructions. Link to changelog is available in next post below.
Can I dirty flash (without factory reset) ROM? No, We don't recommend it. If you are able to handle consequences with dirty flash then proceed, but don't post bugs in forum without clean installing ROM.
PS : Who can handle consequences of dirty flashing, they never need to ask this question in forum.
For Encryption - Read This
Download : https://drketanrom.com/
Instructions provided above are for latest version of ROM only, on previous versions of ROM it may or may not be same, we recommend to flash latest ROM only.

It's also On line. Though couple of features will added to next release. I believe only main missing is CSC features, that I have to re-write completely as N9 using new partition for CSC.

Just flashed it, now it bootloops, gonna try flash it again...it did complain that i couldn't mount vendor partition when installing the rom

First of all many thanks for this rom. Seriously.
I have flashed and used this rom for the past hour and everything seems to be working well. No crashes so far and no issues with any of the included options either. Smooth and responsive too.
There are many features in this rom. I love the additional lock screen, always on display and edge lighting customisation.
This is truly fantastic!

I installed it without selecting the vendor installation option in aroma installer. Maybe try that? I installed kernel and magisk using the aroma installer though.
Your vendor doesn't need to be reinstalled. Your stock ROM already had it and twrp doesn't wipe it.

I am looking into it
Please don't select vendor meanwhile

Just the data. Click wipe, drag the slider to factory reset and that's it. I installed the kernel, magisk and mods using aroma. I did not install reknox, vendor.
I also did a twrp backup prior to installing the rom but I doubt that affects anything..

Just wait, I am uploading Fix for vendor mount error, don't rush for anything.

[How to] Root, TWRP, Flash A300FU / A300Y Noob friendly guide

Bevor you do something with your Device do a Backup of all your Data (Contacts, Pic´s ect.) outside of your Device (in a Cloud or on your PC)I'm not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD Cards, broken phone chargers etc.You do all at your own Risk!
If you are new, just work the first 3 steps from top to bottom.
Flash Root & Odin3:
At the https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ site you can Download the the Root File for your Device (Link to A300FU). When you Downloaded the "CF-Auto-Root-xxx.zip" File unzip it. In this zip you will find the Odin3xxx.exe and the Root .tar.md5 File
You need this Odin3 tool also for TWRP and going Back to Stock Rom
For Root: Make sure your device is in ODIN download mode (you can get there by holding VolDown+Home+Power when the device is turned off), then start the included Odin3xxx.exe file, press the PDA/AP button, select the Root .tar.md5 file, and click Start, never interrupt this action! You can find more detailed instructions and assistance at [CENTRAL] CF-Auto-Root Thread
Flash TWRP:
You can Download the TWRP File at the [RECOVERY][ROOT][TWRP 3.0.2-1]Samsung Galaxy A3(2015) SM-A300F/FU/G/H/M Thread. I recommend the Build from Post 80 it has working MTP & OTG for the FU Device!
To Install Start download mode (you can get there by holding VolDown+Home+Power when the device is turned off), then start the Odin3xxx.exe file, press the PDA/AP button, select the TWRPxxx.tar file, and click Start, never interrupt this action! After Reboot you can get there by holding VolUp+Home+Power when the device is turned off.
There are also a TWRP 2.8.7.0 and a TWRP 3.0.0-0 but both have small bugs so i recommend TWRP 3.0.2-1 only if you have Problems try to downgrade
TWRP Bugs:
TWRP 2.8.7.0 Can only Install CM12.1 ROMs, it has no MTP & no OTG
TWRP 3.0.0-0 Can only Install CM13 ROM & it has no MTP but OTG is Working
TWRP 3.0.2-1 Can not install @cbolumar ROMs and the Build from Opening Post has no OTG
TWRP 3.1.0 Only tested with LineageOS, it still has no MTP!!!
Flash a Custom ROM:
You can Install a ROM now with TWRP you can enter TWRP by holding VolUp+Home+Power when the device is turned off.
In TWRP IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO DO FIRST A BACKUP! (I Recommend to placed at the SD Card)
Backup -> Storage : Micro SDcard -> Ok -> [x] Boot, [x] System, [x] Data, [x] Cache, [x] Recovery, [x] EFS, [x] MODEM, [x] APNHLOS -> Swipe to Backup
If anything goes wrong you can easy Restore your Device in TWRP without losing anything, so it's also recommended to Backup your Custom ROM
Now you need your Custom Rom, Google Apps like Opengapps for ARM and i recommend latest Magisk[/URL, OR (if you prefer) [URL="http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu"]SuperSU to Manage Root Access.
Place this zip Files at your Device (I Recommend to placed at the SD Card)
Now you enter TWRP and go to:
Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> [x] Dalvik / ART Cache, [x] System, [x] Data, [x] Cache -> Swipe to Wipe
Now go back to main menu and select:
Install -> Storage : Micro SDcard -> Ok -> now choose your ROM zip first, you can "Add More Zips" and choose Gapps zip and if you want you can Add direct Magsik OR SuperSU zip as well -> Swipe to Confirm Flash
After placing files the Device need a Reboot, at the First Start it will Install your Rom, so be patiently at first start!
Flash Xposed:
Magisk user on Android M (6.x) or better follow this Thread [2018.5.6][Magisk] Systemless Xposed v89.3/v90.2-beta3 (SDK 21-27) by topjohnwu
SuperSU user on Android M (6.x) or better follow this Thread [OFFICIAL] Xposed for Lollipop/Marshmallow/Nougat/Oreo [v90-beta3, 2018/01/29]

at CM12.1 ROM's Offical Xposed works fine.
Download the "sdk22-arm" zip, and Install it with TWRP first start need a long time! be patient!
After the Framework is installed you install the "XposedInstaller" apk, done.
For stock rom you should visit [UNOFFICIAL] Xposed for Samsung Lollipop by arter97 but it´s for deodex'ed ROMs for this you should visit [Deodex][SM-A300] Deodex Thread for Samsung Galaxy A3

Working only on MM touchwiz (tested by me on A300FU with TWRP 3.0.2-1)
How to install:
- Install this Xposed Installer App version http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3383776&d=1435601440
- Make a nandroid backup
- Copy the Xposed file and the uninstaller to your sdcard
- Flash "xposed-vxx.x-sdkxx-tw-armxx-custom-build-by-wanam-xxxxxxxx.zip" through a custom recovery (TWRP/CWM...)
- Reboot and Waiiiiiiiiit, it may take several minutes to boot up depending on your Rom size.

Flash Stock ROM:
Download your Firmware at Sammobile than i recommend you to Wipe all (Advanced Wipe) in TWRP except the SDcard!
Boot your Device in ODIN download mode (you can get there by holding VolDown+Home+Power when the device is turned off), then start the Odin3xxx.exe file, press the PDA/AP button, select the .tar.md5 file, and click Start, never interrupt this action!
After doing this you lose TWRP and Root so if you need it you have to install it new.
You should not try to Flash 4.x ROMs it could Brick your Device!
With a Stock Marshmallow ROM it is recommended to use a Custom Kernel
A300FU / A300Y Custom Kernel:
Kraken Kernel R1 from @bulgar
Will only work with at Stock Marshmallow (6.x) ROM
-soon- LineageOS Support
hadesKernel from @corsicanu

Nice guide. Which one would you recommend between the CM12.1 and CM12.1 RR?
Also, for downgrading TWRP, you just need to flash the older version, right?

Definitely CM12.1 RR!
Right just flash first TWRP 2.8.7.0 via Odin3 install the ROM and than Flash TWRP 3.0.2-1 via Odin3, btw. the Build from post 80 has a working MTP and OTG in TWRP (only in TWRP not at the ROM!)
And you can anytime time flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 again if you have to Install new

Thanks I tried this but I flashed wrong firmware and wifi was broken but I know how to repair it.
Tomorrow I'll try flash compatible firmware and try again.
After flash MM and reflash LP it was a bootloop in first boot. I went to download mode and flash twrp then restore backup and it boots up.
Thanks

No it will not brick, if you accidentally go to system it will stuck at A3 logo, than you can go to Download Mode with pressing "VolDown+Home+Power" for 30 Sec

As far i know, it will not working with Stock MM.
Known issues:
- Bootloops on Samsung stock ROMs. That's due to Samsung's changes to ART. There are unofficial builds that work around this by deodexing and adjusting the ROM.

Let me know if and how it work
I'm happy with this.

Stock ROM:
Download your Firmware at Sammobile than i recommend you to Wipe all (Advanced Wipe) in TWRP except the SDcard!
Boot your Device in ODIN download mode (you can get there by holding VolDown+Home+Power when the device is turned off), then start the Odin3xxx.exe file, press the PDA/AP button, select the .tar.md5 file, and click Start, never interrupt this action!
After doing this you lose TWRP and Root so if you need it you have to install it new.

I flashed rom>kernel with su then flashed twrp.
Later I flashed the magisk.zip and reboot the system but everytime its entering the twrp screen.
Wont going bootanimation and starts the phone. Just twrp screen.
OH GOD I SOLVED THIS. HERE MY SOLUTION:
First things first, I WANT TO FLASH MAGISK AND NO MORE USE SUPERSU, THATS I WANT. IF YOU WANT TO USE MAGISK HERE IS MY SOLUTION.
1. Flash the stock rom on the post. (up)
2. When flash finished, boot the phone and close the phone.
3. Flash the clean kernel with flashtool.
4. Boot the phone, is everything okay, close again.
5.a So there is little bit strange, open adb on windows (yes really. dont use flashtool this time)
5.b Flash the twrp-3.1.1-suzu-2017.07.16.img from this address: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=197369 (on the middle)
5.c the command is here "fastboot flash recovery twrp-blablabla.img"
6. and type "fastboot reboot" will boot up your phone.
7. If its really open, -not stuck at the sony logo or everytime goin in twrp- you did! congrats!
I hope it help you

also twrp3.1.1 works best at 32gb variant by giving 20gb workable and putting systemparittion to 12gb
however it does the SAME with 46gb variant and give only 20gb workable and put system partition 40 gb
thats why for 64gb variants i don't recomend using twrp3.1.1
Hi, when you say flash the rom you mean in Flashtool ? There is no twrp flashable rom here ?

once you flash the modified kernel with supersu then there is no need for twrp, simply boot your device and it will wakeup rooted.
however if you wana use magisk and your device is 64gb then i highly recommend you to do this
1. flash rom
2. flash the modified kernel
3. boot the device and go thru sony setup , give google account and let it sync
4. switch off mobile after 15 or so mins
5. flash twrp3.1.1 suzu (given in the mega link, in the OT)
6. HOLD power and VOLUME DOWN BUTTON till PINK led comes on sonylogo and you are taken to twrp, keep system readonly and flash magisk ( via otg or if you had it in your sd card prior) ( at this point you may flash other zips also, if there are any)
7. twrp may give you error such as... cannot mount internal storage etc, just ignore.
8. after flashing, switchoff mobile, and boot it into system.
9. for safty purposes, you can erase twrp by connecting device in fastboot mode and executing following command
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
now you can ask me why i let you boot your device first. normally its unprecedented.
the reason i explain here

Nice to see a new rom I'II trying later tonight ?
Is the main difference between this ROM and the Fennec ROM the base you built it on. Any advantage from moving to this ROM? At a glance they look about the same benefit. Speed? Battery Life? Anything I'm missing? Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer.

This ROM has all carrier functions and files...unlike Fennec ROM...
The carrier ROMs always use more resources than Unlocked ROMs but I made some modifications to improve performance...
I will be modding this one differently than Fennec...as well

If you like Unlocked look...Fennec is the fox you hunt

It's a flushable zip that you flash with Flashfire, as we don't have TWRP.
What carrier are you on? You can use Phone Info app in the play store to put your csc back.
Kernel part he'll have to answer that, but I'm assuming it's just stock.

If you flash the optional Odin files, V3 is the 3ARA3 kernel, V2.5 is the 2AQL1 kernel...or keep the SamFail kernel you are on...
It is for SM-N950U1 and SM-N950U

Can anyone confirm whether Voice Match (OK Google) is working in this ROM? It appears that it might be causing mic issues in other Android 10 ROMs. Thanks!

And must write, that very good ROM! Big thanks.
No bugs so far. Everything goes smoothly.
Stayed on a daily use!
PS: Came from Superior OS
I would appreciate some help. I took a FI X4 and installed Arrow with no issues. Then I tried to re-install with gapps and things went south. Maybe I'm being bitten by the A/B thing.
My current state:
SCENARIO 1
* Clean install Stock FI for X4 works
* Then "copy partitions" and reboot to System fails and reboots to Recovery. <-- Not sure why this happens
SCENARIO 2
* Clean install Stock FI again -- boots and works fine
* fastboot boot twrp, wipe, install Arrow -- install gives no errors
* Reboot to system results in endless Arrow boot animation. I've waited for a couple of hours, so it's not a matter of time.
Suggestions on what I can try? Is "copy partitions" really necessary? (I've put Lineage on two other X4's without using 'copy partitions' -- I didn't even know about it at the time.)

Clean flash stock firmware
Then flash twrp format in f2fs and reboot
Boot to twrp and Flash copy partition and take persist efs backup
Then wipe data system dalvik
Flash rom+ twrp zip
Reboot recovery and flash magisk if you want...(you dont need to flash gapps BECAUSE it is included in rom)
Just reboot to system
Have look on this website for issue https://motox4custom.jimdofree.com/instructions/install-a-custom-rom/
Trouble installing
EDIT: Got it working!
I gave up waiting for the animation. Switched /data's file system to e2fs, formatted, re-installed Arrow+TWRP and badaboom! Arrow started up successfully. I think I was missing the "format /data" step after switching its fs.
Thank you

Thanks for the quick help and reference. I'm not sure if it worked yet or not... It's been running the Arrow boot animation for 20 minutes so far. I'll report back.
Questions:
Is TWRP's warning of "No OS Installed" something I can ignore? (see attached photo)
Why do you recommend a backup of efs and persist? I don't see it used later.
I did not switch /data to f2fs this time because it completely failed (Stock wouldn't boot up). Is f2fs required?
How long should I wait while the boot animation runs before giving up?
Can I capture a log that would be helpful troubleshooting what's going on with the boot?
Here's what I did:
Clean flash stock firmware (XT1900-1_PAYTON_FI_9.0_PPWS29.69-39-6-2_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip)
Reboot to "Get Started" screen - SUCCESS
Boot to twrp
Flash copy partition
Reboot to "Get Started" screen (confirm all is still working) - SUCCESS
Make backup of persist and efs
Wipe data, system, dalvik
Flash Arrow (did not flash magisk or gapps) File: Arrow-v10.0-payton-UNOFFICIAL-20200119-VANILLA.zip
Flash twrp installer (zip)
Reboot to system --
- twrp warned of "no os installed"
- arrow boot animation
The latest update wiped out fingerprint gestures. It is turned on, but does not work.
What does ' Error applying update:15 ( ErrorCode:kNewRootfsVerificationError )' mean?
I tried both TWRP-payton-3.3.1-Syber-v2.2_11-02 and official twrp
step 1/2...
step 2/2...
Error applying update:15 ( ErrorCode:kNewRootfsVerificationError )
Fingerprint gestures don't work. And hope we can disable the battery charging LED.

Update -- I went back to stock and now can't get any mobile signal. No voice, no 2G; it's dead. The SIM works fine in my other (Lineage) X4. Looks like bad hardware.

Hi all. I'm taking my Arrow-powered new-to-me X4 out today for the first time and just realized it's not getting 4G. In fact, it's all the way back to Edge. My network is set to Global and I'm on T-Mobile USA.
Is LTE working for others here?
I can switch to stock later to check the hardware on this device but that will take some time.

Sorry to hear.
I acquired a different X4 and installed Arrow without incident and I'm getting 4G on T-Mobile USA fine now. Maybe you also have bad hardware? Does LTE work on your phone with different firmware?

How does the Updater work?
In Settings, I can search for "update" and see "System updates" in the search results. Tapping on that brings up the System menu but there is no "System updates" listed.
I flashed 20200119 a couple of days ago and I thought it's been updated since then.

[Guide][GSI][10.0] How to get Havoc OS 3.12 GSI running on Redmi 8A

Disclaimer: I'm not a dev, i'm just someone who has a lot of time to do research on Windows, Android... So that i can say i'm quite a talent that stuffs when other don't, may be just know to use Facebook, Youtube or something similar. But when you're here, want to read my topic, i'm happy you're something like me, want your phone yours and yours only, want to do more with your phone. So let's get started.
- My Phone: Redmi 8A -4/64 China Variant, i'm not from China though. Running Xiaomi.eu rom 11.0.4.0 as base to install gsi. I have tried Global Rom but it's incompatible with my phone (random reboot, missing imei, no MAC address...) so please flash another market version with caution.
- Why i write this topic? Because firstly i want to demonstrate how to install a GSI rom. Secondly, i feel somehow wifi speed on MIUI is ridiculous, only 500-600kb/s, it takes me 15 minutes to download a 16mb app; random ping in game, that make the game not enjoyable. This wifi symptom is like on a phone from my country, Vsmart joy 2+, run on the same entry variant 4xx, due to support wifi 2.4 ghz only. (Because bluetooth interfering with wifi 2.4 Ghz and our device doesn't support 5ghz wifi)
Compare to MIUI, Havoc OS has somethings i like:
+ Faster download/upload speed: no delay with wifi bluetooth interference
+ Doesn't have bloatware, you choose what you want to install
+ All known bugs i mentioned in my previous topic are fixed, except Auto Brightness - i don't use it though
+ D2TW needs to be fixed. But i have a workaround using Magisk and root.
And a lot that i dont write all here.
Instructions:
Read my previous topic first, all instructions below will focus on Havoc OS only.https://forum.xda-developers.com/xi...de-how-to-install-magisk-miui-how-to-t4030175
0) Backup Backup Backup, be sure to have a plan in case anything goes wrong. I use a offline disk drive to backup anything important.
1) Unlock Bootloader, Install TWRP or Orange Fox. If you come from stock MIUI, use Volume Up + Power to enter recovery directly after flash with Fastboot, ortherwise, stock recovery will be replaced.
Remember to flash vbmeta.img.
2) Download all the files in my post, download Havoc OS GSI and extract to get system
From Official Havoc OS here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/havoc-os/files/a64-ab/ (Newer Version)
Download Opengapps (optional) from opengapps (10/arm/nano or pico)
Download boot.img from my previous topic, choose the right version matched your phone version.
3) Copy all the files to the phone. I recommend use a micro sd card because internal storage may be encrypted, or you can format data first, your call.
4) Format the following partitions: Cache, Dalvik, Data and System
5) Install system image to system partition.
6) Install permissiver_v5
7) Resize system partition to install opengapps.
8) Install Opengapps or what gapps you choose
9) Flash Certification + Patch
10) Reboot. If bootloop, format data. Not wipe data. Then setup your phone.
11) Install Magisk Manager. Follow the app instructions.
12) Install d2tw module to have d2tw feature. If it doesn't work, then try an alternative way:
Open /vendor/bin/init.qcom.post_boot.sh and add the string:
Code:
sendevent /dev/input/event2 0 1 5
then reboot
13) Enjoy Havoc OS. Install apps, configure settings...
How to Update
- Flash system image over, no wipe require. Just reboot.
Bugs
I don't use the phone often so i can say it's stable enough to be a daily driver rom. If there's any, just comment below so i can add them.
Additions
- Here are all apps i want to install on my phone: Youtube Vanced from https://vancedapp.com/; Bromite for browsing; modded messenger from @evilwombatHere, outdated version but still okay.
- If you don't like stock camera, you can use gcam, here is a working version i download from Telegram group: Here
- To fix Recording, from Misc features -> Force Timestamp Source, choose Clock boottime
And that's all. Now enjoy!
I gifted my sister this phone so i don't have device to test anymore. Still, sometime i'll test if i can. The guide still works so enjoy flashing!!!
Great. I've been using havocOs for almost two months now and it's great. Much quicker and smoother than stock miui. Only problem I've been trying to find a fix for is setting up a lock screen.
Thanks for sharing the dt2w module for magisk. Is there some sort of setting I need to mess with to get it to work? I've installed the module and activated it in magisk but dt2w still won't work. I also activated the dt2w setting that comes with havocOs 3.1 under " xiaomi features " but that never worked from the beginning.

There is a trick, you can enable encryption through Settings -> security -> Encryption and credentials then encrypt phone. If it doesn't work, then read this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389
Or you can do the whole process again, clean flash and do as my thread. May be d2tw starts working.
Thank you sir

I wasn't able to encrypt my phone it would just reboot and nothing change.
So I ended up re-flashing back to MIUI stock firmware.
Flashing OrangeFox and HavocOS 3.1
Flashed all of the other necessary stuff EXCEPT for Disable_ForceEncrypt.
Now my phone is encrypted and able to set up a Screen Lock .
Now I'm still not able to use dt2w for some odd reason. No worries though I'm able to set up tap status bar to lock so that'll help for Now until I can keep dt2w to work.

I've considered making a complete tutorial on installing recovery, root, & rom installation for this phone. Next time I go back to stock I probably will make a video. Until then you can definitely follow the tutorials on this forum to install a custom recovery and rom. Personally I would recommend installing OrangeFox recovery because TWRP has touchscreen issues sometimes.
You will have to unlock the bootloader first which takes 14 days if you have not already.
The tool to unlock the Bootloader is here: https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html
Once your bootloader is unlocked you're ready to install OrangeFox custom recovery, the files and instructions can be found here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xi...t/orangefox-recovery-xiaomi-redmi-8a-t4032583
Once you have OrangeFox recovery installed you can follow this tutorial in this thread to install HavocOS rom or the other thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xi...de-how-to-install-magisk-miui-how-to-t4030175

I used TWRP then moved to Orange Fox. Everything working fine, may be your screen is different. In d2tw module, there's a file called readme.md: Manual usage : - enable $ set-dt2w 1 - disable $ set-dt2w 0
Just try it -))))))))
Great GSI. I have this one problem though. I cannot backup anything from TWRP. Is it really normal because it's encrypted?

2) Download all the files in my post, download Havoc OS GSI from ExpressLuke and extract to get system imagehttps://sourceforge.net/projects/expressluke-gsis/files/HavocOS/Ten/A64/AB/
13) Enjoy Havoc OS. Install apps, configure settings...
Bugs
I don't use the phone often so i can say it's stable enough to be a daily driver rom. If there's any, just comment below so i can add them.
Additions
- Here are all apps i want to install on my phone: Youtube Vanced from vanced.app; Bromite for browsing; modded messenger from @evilwombatHere, outdated version but still okay.
- If you don't like stock camera, you can use gcam, here is a working version i download from Telegram group: Here
And that's all. Now enjoy!

Boot.img and vbmeta are done before flashing the gsi. I'd recommend reading this thread first for better understanding

Great GSI. I have this one problem though. I cannot backup anything from TWRP. Is it really normal because it's encrypted?
createTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255

I'm getting the same error with attempting to make a back up in orangefox. After seeing you have the same problem now I'm assuming it is indeed a problem with encryption? I was able to make backups successfully before my phone was encrypted so I still have an old back up on my PC. However it would be nice to be able to make a new fresh back up.

That was weird. In stock ROM, I can back up the /data/media just fine even when encrypted. But after having Havoc OS, I cannot do that anymore. Tried on both TWRP and OrangeFox. I can, with an unencrypted phone, but I do not feel comfortable without a lockscreen. Tried all things I have researched on that error. Not one worked. Might as well just stick to Titanium Backup for backups.
Overall, great GSI. Loading is faster than on stock (with the internet too)! Though, I have another issue with regards to the locking of apps, so that the app would not be cleared. Speaking of clearing apps, it is tiring to scroll left just to see the "Clear All" option in Recents. Autostart too.
I know you are not the developer, but just letting you know my concerns.
