How you set the 'allow home to rotate'?

Long press on an empty portion of the display (as if you want to add a widget), settings (last button on the right), you there

Just tried with auto rotate + home screen rotate off.
Indeed makes the desktop mode problematic.
Can't exit desktop mode due to touch alignment problem...

Challange! Lock Device On Power Off/screen Off.

I have been trying to Find a Macro Mapper or some kind of 3rd party ap to lock my device when i press the power button. The only work around at this time is to use Lock Device with 4 number pin and 0min lock setting. however i am tired of constantly pressing digits and would rather use native Lock Function that requires bottom left tap to unlock than middle right side tap to confirm unlock. However, it is only initiated from a Lock on screen tap.
IF anyone knows how to enable this lock by pressing the power button which is in my case on the right side of my mogul(PPC6800) that shuts off the screen and powers down to standby i would greatly appreciate it. this is also a replacement for S2U which has a few bugs with slide out keyboard and memory leaks.
Try this...
http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJDeviceLock
there is a program by spb that has this funtion... I don't know the name of it but i will look around. I don't remember the specifics of it, but there was a check box that says to lock teh device when you hit the powerbutton (or anytime the display turns off)
i believe it is SPB mobile shell
"Device Lock
Spb Mobile Shell 1.5 improves usability of device locking. Now you can lock your device using a hardware key, soft key on Today or a shortcut. You can also unlock the device using only soft keys. When your device is locked the Now Screen shows you the most important information, so in most cases you don't even need to unlock the device. "
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/about/pressreleases/2007/jun19.html?en
you can at least try it out and see if it does what you want.
damn i apparently didn't didn't read all of your post... so you don't want to use slide2unlock.. hmm i guess your best bet is to try spb mobile shell and play with the options to see if you can get it to do what you want -- unless of course someone wiser than me knows of something else.
::ignore below:::
it turns out that what i was really was thinking of was slide2unlock
http://ac.xenpage.eu/S2U2-0.99c-WM5.rar
(from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353008)
options:
lock when device wakes up --- on/off
lock when backlight turns off ---on/off
power off in --- (time in S)
but blank screen only -- on/off
blank screen on talk -- on/off
then it has some other options for how it looks -- but if you don't mind doing the slide bar to unlock the phone it will do what you want.

Turn on display when you slide out the keyboard

In order to turn on the phone's display, I have to push the power button.
I would like the display to turn on when I slide out the keyboard.
Is there any fix for this? I have tried AEBPlus but didn't see any way to add a hotkey.
Thanks!
For security for improper usage while in pocket or hand bag the key are usually locked. Sliding is not possibly on the screen either. You can do one thing is to check the options in settings and keylock to the "Lock Buttons if Device is Locked" so press anybutton, but not the keyboard button because it will not work

Home button hard press sensitivity settings

Well I had a screen replacement in my Galaxy S9+ and I noticed that Home hard press is way more sensitive tan it was before, I cant pick my phone without pressing it half the time.
Is there a way to tweak that sensitivity beyond that maximum in official settings? Maybe through ADB?

Went to autorized Samsung service. They did screen calibration for free, now it works as intended.

Power Button Functionality Modification

My Chromebook used to turn off the screen anytime I pressed the power button. I often use it to type notes during presentations, and I loved having a fast easy way to turn off the screen to save power if I knew I wouldn’t be typing anything for 5 or 10 minutes.
A few months ago, a ChromeOS update changed this so it only works it tablet mode now, pressing the power button in laptop mode now opens an on-screen menu with options to shutdown, log off, or lock screen. The best workaround I have found so far is to use the brightness keys to get the screen off, but it’s a pain to get it back to the right brightness level every time.
I have the Chromebook in developer mode, and I would like to do one of the following (in order from most to least preferred):
1. Restore power button functionality to how it was before.
2. Re-purpose the lock screen button on the keyboard for turning off the screen.
3. Add a keyboard shortcut to toggle the screen on and off.
4. Add a “Turn off screen” option to the current on-screen menu.
I never really modified ChromeOS before. Has anyone else done these things? Where should I begin? Thank you.
Here is some relevant documentation, maybe the information at the bottom is useful?:
https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/platform2/+/master/power_manager/docs/power_buttons.md
I was able to do it by adding the flag "--force-tablet-power-button" to /etc/chrome_dev.conf and restarting the UI, but changes to that file don't seem to persist accross system reboots.
edit: I used the instructions at the bottom of this page: http://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/run-chromium-with-flags

[PSA] [WARNING] Android Pie Beta + Secure Startup + WQHD = Black Screen [FIX]

Anyone on the Android Pie Beta may have noticed the little * in the changelog telling you to disable Secure Startup.
If you were like me and assumed it would just be for the first boot after updating and re-enabled secure startup afterwords you may be facing this issue too where you can no longer use your phone because the screen is not coming on.
Luckily i found a pretty nice fix thanks to a user on Reddit HERE

I had this issue! There is a way to fix this!
You need to get Bixby set up blindly, and then ask to activate power saving mode, and turn it on. It'll lower the screen resolution and fix the issue. This is how I sorted it out.
I can post screenshots of what area to press, so you can get it set up.
Edit: Album with screenshots for Bixby, literally the one time it has come in handy, ahah!
By default, the navigation bar will be at the bottom, so find the home button, then move up slightly from there. After set up, ask Bixby to turn on power saving mode, then hit the area to confirm. After you have done this, do a reset of your settings in the menu, and it'll fix it. No factory restore needed. Hope this helps anyone.

Seems to be a bug with Android Pie + Secure Startup + a WQHD+ resolution.
So you need to change the resolution and then disable secure startup so it does not happen again.
I managed to get Bixby to enable power saving mode by unlocking the phone with my fingerprint, tapping the bixby key (you should be able to hear bixby welcome you) and tapping where the next arrow should be at the bottom center of the screen,
After this i held the Bixby Key and asked her to enable power saving, and then tapping apply (blind) near the bottom right of the screen.
