[Guide] Wireless file transfer Pace/Stratos (workaround for no USB connection) - Amazfit

Requirements:
- Amazfit watch, any model, any ROM (don't need to unlock anything and it will NOT void your watch's warranty, these are simple APKs);
- PaceOne and FileManager+ by AlphaInventor on watch, any FTP client on phone or computer.

This works with both phone and computer, you don't need USB cable and it works both ways: you can send files to watch and retrieve files too. Don't forget to disable WiFi on watch after you are done to prevent extreme battery drain if it remains on!
----- Procedure
1. Install PaceOn and Filemanager+ by AlphaInventor on watch;
2. Configure PaceOn to turn on WiFi and start its service so screen won't go off (you can use the dim option to use less battery) and the WiFi remains on;
3. Go to FileManager and start Access from Computer (lower right option), WiFi should be on already, tap on Start Service and note the number above (IP_numberort_number);
4. On your phone or computer, use a FTP client (the same app works for Android phones, pick your favorite on iOS) to create a new Remote Access using FTP, and connect using the previous info: IP_numberort_bumber, you can set *any* name as login and password.
Now you can send and receive files wirelessly to the watch using your phone or computer. As a bonus, you can use FileManager+ also to uninstall apps directly on watch and other stuff.
----- Extra Tip: How to Setup Without USB (using WiFi only)
How to use this when USB connection doesn't work? It's not hard, but you must keep your watch screen on until you can install PaceOn. First, go to watch Settings -> Connection and connect to a 2.4GHz network, then use any scanner tool to find out what is the IP used by the watch. You must keep the screen on or the connection will drop. Once you find the IP, use adb to connect to watch:

where watch_IP is the actual IP used by watch (in the pics below, it's 192.168.0.26, for instance). tThen you can install PaceOn and FileManager+ normally:

Install PaceOn first, then use it to activate WiFi and keep screen on so the watch won't disconnect.

You can use the same file to access the FTP server on your Android phone. For iOS, you can use FileExplorer or any other app with builtin FTP client:

My usb connection is not working on watch (Pace). So it dont connect to pc any more I have stock rom on watch. Is it possible to transfer/ install the watch faces wirelessly to watch? If yes then how? Or is there any way through which i can access the folders on watch wirelessly Please help me.

[Q] wifi file transfer from windows xp to android

Yes, I did search. I didn't find what I was looking for.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 5 player running gingerbread. I'm trying to access files on it from my WinXP box via wifi. This seems like it should be a very common thing to do, but I simply can't find it. If I plug it into a usb port, I can access the drives. Can this be done via wifi?
Again, I want to access the android from the PC. Not the other way around.

Three possible solutions pop into my mind (I guess there are many more):
1) Use a ftp server on the phone and access the files using that.
2) Use AirDroid or a similar app. It will give you wireless access to your phone's file.
3) This includes something that you said you didn't necessarily want to do but should also work: Use an app such as ES File Explorer and connect to your Windows XP PC via network. You can share a folder over the network (with write access) and then you can copy files from your android to your pc. But I guess that is the least ideal solution of the above.
I hope that the apps mentioned above are available for your device and that a method works.

The reason that "android -> pc" isn't an option is that much of the time, I'm using it as a wifi camera to monitor what my dogs are doing elsewhere in the house. But it would be nice to be able to access the files on the player from my pc.

1. Download Chrome.if you cant download it from computer, use the phone to transfer to .exe
2. Turn on wifi tether on your wifi tether and connect to the computer via wifi.
3. Click the three line grid and click settings then Extensions then more Extensions
4. Search for "Ultimate user agent switcher"and download it
5. Once you see it and on your extension list shown as a red recycle sign click it and choose Nokia 7110
6. done!

View/Control Android device from PC (without ROOT)

Hi all. What I need is a way to control Android device (s) from PC via Wi-Fi. I found a lot of apps (and Desktop programs) to do it, but I didn't found a way to View OR control the Android device WITHOUT ROOT. I work on the company which asked me to find a way to do this without root with their Android devices. After googling a lot I started to think that where is no way to do this, because either way I need to root them . Is it true or maybe there is somewhere an app which could do this? It doesn't care if it's paid or not.
I have downloaded and tester these apps:
MyMobiler - Doesn't work because when I restart Android device, app doesn't start WiFi, just keyboard mode only. I need that when the app starts it should run itself and start WiFi automatically.
VMLite VNC Server - Don't know why but it didn't worked for me. Just cannot start server from the browser.

What error messages do you get from vmlite vnc server? Make sure you enable USB debugging. We have tens of thousands of users using our app, and your device should work.
Well, actually now I tried to launch VMLite VNC one more time and IT WORKED (don't know how, because earlier I tried it and I was unable to enter to VNC Viewer in the Browser). So yeah, in this case it works perfectly now, but I just realized, that I have no way of connected more Android devices. Because what I need to do is to connect multiple Android devices to computer with USB (as I understand it's required for the first time) and when use it with WiFi. For now I see that I only capable of connecting single Android device with desktop program and everytime I want to connect to Android deice from computer, I need to connect it via USB (where is no way to save Android devices to use it any time I want to via WiFi). Or am I wrong? And it is a problem because in my company all Android devices are far away from each other. Anyway, thank your for such an awesome app, I really don't know how it is capable of connecting to my Android device WITHOUT ROOT (because I found like 10 apps, read a lot of forums, and every solution was with ROOTED devices, I am very interseting of the actual app functionality), but thank you.
You can connect to multiple devices using multiple USB cables. There is a drop down list to display devices, and you choose one by one to start the server. Alternatively, you can write some scripts to auto start the vnc servers.
There are quite some testing companies using our app this way to automate regression tests.

Basically you can automate the starting process using adb command:
adb shell "am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.vmlite.vncserver/.MainActivity"
adb shell /data/data/com.vmlite.vncserver/files/vmlitevncserver

Thank you for this script (it's very cool, I didn't know this kind of stuff before), but it requires USB connection as well.
I googled a few things and found this app - ADB Wireless (no-root) on Google Play Store. Basically it connects ADB via WiFi and I don't need no USB cable and connection with it. But VMLite Android App Controller program on my Desktop doesn't recognize it (it requires USB connection). Can I actually connect Android device with PC with this method or I am missing something and there is no way of doing it with this method? Thank you (I promise, this is the last question from me, no more dumb questions).
I don't think it will work for you. You mentioned your android device will reboot, right?
If your device gets rebooted, you will have to use a USB connection to a PC. the ADB wireless app has same requirement.
Steps to get it working: (from ADB Wireless app page)
1. Enable USB Debugging on your phone.
2. Connect your phone via usb cable to your PC.
3. Run adb tcpip 5555.
4. Run ADB Wireless (no root).
5. Connect to the IP address.

What's right. It needs to connect my phone via USB. But I thought that maybe there is a way to automate this process, I mean maybe there is a solution to TURN DEBUGGING MODE between phone and pc programs via WiFi connection (not USB) and communicate with VMLite VNC Server program on startup. Either way, again, thank you for your software (app). I will say to my boss that we need to stay where we are at the moment. It's just awesome to have an app which doesn't require ROOT.

Amazfit Pace Enable App list and Install Apps - Altentative way

Background
I was have trouble getting my Amazfit Pace to be recognized by the adb program or the ADK installer. When it was in the dock it i could look at the files but not have it recognized by the other apps. I have the Amazfit Pace US version with ROM 1.3.3a
Here are the steps i took.
Enable the "developers mode" by tapping on the legal notice.
Plug in the Amazfit to the computer and put a blank file called "launcher_config.ini" in the main directory
Restart the watch. Once it has booted up connect it via the wifi to the same network your computer is on.
Open and cmd prompt and got to "C:\Users\Rich\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools" directory (this will differ based on you user name)
Type adb connect (ip address of watch)
Then type adb install (whatever app you want)
Not sure if this is the 100% but it worked for me and my watch was right out of the box. Hope this helps some people.

ADB initiated Titanium Backup?

Background:
I have a rooted SM-G900V (Verizon Galaxy S5) running Lollipop with a broken screen. I have Titanium Backup installed and it was supposed to be running weekly but wasn't. I have recovered my photos, contacts, etc. by connecting to my PC and copying the internal storage and from my gmail restore to a new GS5. I want to recover app data from a couple apps. The phone has USB debug turned on and I can connect with ADB.
I thought I could just run an ADB backup, but apparently in order for the backup to initiate I have to press a button on the lower right of the screen...which is broken. I suppose if I could connect via WiFi and then use a MHL cable I could use a keyboard/mouse to click the button on the phone but I don't have a MHL cable right now and I don't know if that would work anyway (WiFi ADB hasn't worked for me to this point).
THE QUESTION:
I've done a lot of reading and found a number of ADB options that sounded viable, but have not been successful. I have TitaniumBackup installed and thought that I could launch the "backup all" batch process but don't see how to make that happen. I have a new GS5 that is identical setup so I could record some actions on that one and play them on the broken one potentially.
I'm open to any suggestions.

I really appreciate the suggestion. FWIW, I sort of came up with a similar approach myself that I almost have working. I turned on ADB WiFi on the device and then plugged in my wireless USB mouse/keyboard. I set up a script that performs a screen capture every 2 seconds and downloads it locally. With Windows7 image viewer, it automatically updates when the image changes so I get a slide show of what's happening on screen. The only issue I have is that the SD card isn't set up for TitaniumBackup apparently since I get an error when I select the backup action. If I can get TitaniumBackup set up correctly, I should be golden!
Thanks for posting that link. Ironically, the solution I developed was very similar in concept. I will give a short description for others who may need to recover data from a phone with a broken screen.
Prerequisites:
* TitaniumBackup - This can be installed from the Play store even if the phone is not functioning
* USB debug mode enabled - Without this, you are stuck. The only issue here is newer phones don't always enable MTP on connection. My old on did but the new one does not. If it doesn't connect via MTP, you will need to install MTPEnabler or similar.
* USB keyboard/mouse combination
* USB cable
* Charged fully functional phone sans screen
* ADB software - You must have the same version on the phone and PC. If not, it won't work reliably/at all. I went with fastboot_adb(1.0.32)_071114_r21 since I have 1.0.32 on my SM-G900V.
Basic steps:
1) Unpack the ADB software on your PC in a convenient location (C:\ADB)
2) Connect phone to PC via USB
3) Send command to enable WiFi ADB connection
4) Disconnect phone from USB
5) Connect ADB via WiFi
6) Run following batch script:

adb shell screencap /sdcard/screen.png
del screen.png
adb pull /sdcard/screen.png
echo captured
timeout /t 2
goto loop

This will dump a screen shot every 2 seconds
7) Open screen.png in Windows image viewer. It should automatically update when the image is refreshed.
8) Type "launch titaniumbackup" and press enter on wireless keyboard.
9) Using either tab or mouse, select the check box to launch TB.
10) Using either tab or mouse, select "menu" from upper right.
11) Using mouse, select "batch actions" from the list.
12) Using mouse, select "RUN" next to "Backup all user apps" from the list.
If all went well, you now have your phone backup up all application data to your SD card which can be easily used on a new phone to restore data.
NOTE:
It may be possible to also use the built-in ADB backup function. I attempted this at one point, but it requires selecting a button in the lower right on the phone. Since I was using ADB over USB at the time, I could not click the button on the phone since I only had one device connected (no hub). If you have a hub it may be possible to use that approach. Alternately, if you use ADB over WiFi, it should also work. However, be aware that there is no way to see where you are clicking or confirm that it worked other than looking at the files on the SD card as ADB backup doesn't appear to give any feedback. Also, this isn't as easy as TB when it comes to restoring as you either have to backup every app one at a time or all together. When restoring, it's also a one shot deal so you can't select specific apps to restore from a larger set.
