[T825Y] After updating to August security patch, shows black screen after boot - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

Hi. My T825Y (Open line XTC Philippines version) suddenly shows black screen after booting. Right after the "SAMSUNG" boot animation, the screen shows blank but I can pop up the power menu and it still shows. The "show screen touches" can also be seen when touching the screen. I tried clearing cache, booting in safe mode, but still no luck. I also notice that the back of the tab is very warm.
I just wanna know what caused this.
Planning to dirty flash the firmware T825YDXU2BRG3 to restore the device again. Thanks.
P.S. Stock recovery works and also the bootloader.
UPDATE: Tried flashing latest firmware using ODIN but still the same problem...
UPDATE 2: Wiped data using stock recovery and it booted fine. So much hassle for updating a stock non-rooted device...

[Q] Phone bricked? Only grey battery is displayed.

Hi, I hope you can help me as I am clueless about my phone...
I had the stock 4.1.2 firmware on my phone and wanted to update to Slimkat 4.2, so I first flashed the Siyah-s2-v6.0b5 kernel, check if the device is rooted and booted into recovery.
In recovery I did the factory reset, wiped the cache and formated the system partition.
Then the mistake happened and instead of flashing the Slimrom firmware I kept my finger to long on the swipe enabled recovery and selected "Reboot now" by mistake...
Basically since then my phone can only enter the Download mode (at least). I cannot enter recovery and I cannot boot it.
I flashed the Stock 4.1.2 firmware again but the problem remains. Directly after flashing the firmware when the phone gets rebooted I can see the white Samsung logo (where the yellow triangle would appear with a rooted kernel), then instead of showing to boot animation it switches to the charging screen but it does not charge (battery is and keeps grey).
I also put in another battery just for the case but that didn't change anything of course...
I hope you can help me, else I have the first brick for my wall of shame...
P.S. The stock firmware I use is "I9100XWLSD_I9100DBTLS7_DBT" from sammobile.
Can you still boot to download mode? If not, then look for a USB JIG.

[Q] Stuck in bootloop and recovery vanished

Ok, so something seems to have gone very wrong with flashing my phone :S
I managed to get recovery working yesterday, and followed the steps in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-creating-rooted-update-package-t2933155 , to create a pre-rooted 5.0.2 image. I put it on the external SD card, booted into recovery and installed the flashable zip, then used flashtool to flash with the instructions (though I also cleared Appslog, Cache and Data to get a fresh install). This went fine and everything appeared to be ok. I then tried to get the Xposed Alpha installed, but after that whenever the phone was rebooting it just hung if trying to boot to Android. I tried re-flashing with Flashtool, but still got the same issue. Would boot fine the first time, but then any restart it would just hang and crash out. Tried clearing the cache from recovery, but no difference.
So today, I went into recovery, re-installed the flashable.zip, then powered off the phone and flashed using flashtool, just as I had yesterday. Now though, my phone wont boot. It shows the Sony logo, then a blank screen, then restarts. Even worse, it will no longer boot into recovery. I hold the volume down button when the LED shows, nothing. I try holding the volume down button all the way through several bootloops, nothing.
I've tried to re-flash using flashtool which goes through the process ok, I can hold the volume down button and connect the cable once its in the process of rebooting, and it goes through all the process fine. It then powers off as expected and I can just disconnect and power on the phone. But it's still stuck in the bootloop and I don't have TWRP recovery.
Is there anything I can do to get my Z2 working?
Update - Re ran flashtool, this time not excluding system, only Partition. It now gets a little further, going to "Powered by Android" and giving the purple wavy lines, but after a minute or so it just hangs and restarts again. And still no recovery sadly....
I think I've got it sorted...
Used Flashboot again to do a flash, excluding System and Partition. This time the phone does boot up normally. The downside being that my root was gone. Despite my flashing a pre-rooted image, it seemed to just put a stock image on. And my recovery is still mysteriously gone.
In the end, just to get things completely back to a stable/stock starting point for later on, I ran a repair from PC Companion. Seems I was in the none rooted position anyway so figured I'd get myself to a more certain position. At least this way I can wait for someone to come up with a root for 5.0.2 so I can root and get recovery back.

Data recovery from Galaxy S6 Edge AT&T stuck on AT&T logo

I have an SM-925A that has never been rooted or had custom rom installed and it is stuck on the at&t logo after a random reboot happened. Unfortunately there is data on the phone that needs to be recovered, specifically photos that were not backed up. I've had no success with getting this phone to boot back up. I'm more interested in recovery the data then fixing the phone.
Current Symptoms:
Phone boots
Shows Samsung logo
Shows white background with AT&T Logo that animates for a moment
Stays stuck on this screen indefinitely.
Attempted solutions:
Volume Down and Power button reset attempted multiple times with same result after reboot
Draining battery entirely until the phone shuts off, charging and then booting back up, same result
Wipe cache partition from android recovery (stock recovery)
Attempted to sideload teh 6.0.1 OTA update (SS-G925AUCU3BOJ9-to-U3CPD6-UP) , but the phone is already updated and i got this message:
"Package expects build fingerprint of samsung/zerolteuc/zerolteatt:5.1.1/LMY47X/G925AUCU3BOJ9:user/release-keys or samsung/zerolteuc/zerolteatt:6.0.1/MMB29K/G925AUCU3CPD6:user/release-keys; this device has samsung/zerolteuc/zerolteatt:6.0.1/MMB29k/G925AUC"
"E:Error in /sideload/package.zip"
"(Status 7)"
"Installation aborted"
Any suggestions on how to recover the photos on this device? Again fixing this device is not the issue, its recovering the photos.
Have you tried to connect to smart swich pc?
Sounds like stuck in a bootloop and the only fix is flashing stock firmware.
One thing to ask... did you use google photos? It should have them backed up if so?

No google photos was turned off for some reason. Can flashing stock firmware be done without wiping the data?

Unfortunately not mate. As when device boots up you will have to set up as new phone or restore from backup. But as you said google photos was off.
Stock firmware will wipe everything.
Have you tried connecting to pc and opening as folders? Can you connect to pc with latest drivers?

galaxy note 4 soft unbrick help

Hey guys,
I got a Galaxy Note 4 on Telus (Canadian), and my phone was in a bootloop so I decided to flash stock ROM with ODIN. Here's what I know:
It has never been rooted
Reactivation lock is on
There are no other modifications that I know of
Model number: SM-N910W8
Known issues: My phone would randomly shut off (straight reboot, doesn't go to logo) when I used Snapchat after around 5-6 seconds. This would also happen rarely when I used my camera, but other than that it would never happen.
Notes on what I've tried:
Getting latest ODIN version
Updating Samsung drivers
I made sure that I had the correct ROM
When I flash in ODIN, it gives me a pass
Phone reboots, and it says recovery booting in top left corner with Samsung logo
It says installing system update, and it shows a progress bar
It's slow and steady progression until about a quarter of the way through, where it jumps and then promptly says "Erasing..." and then reboots
After it reboots, it still says recovery mode and it goes back to saying installing system update but this time without a progress bar
It stays on this screen for a short period of time then reboots and does the same thing > recovery booting > system update
I would just like to know why I fail to flash a ROM that works properly. Am I doing something wrong?
Does this occur because you have reactivation lock on?

Is there a way to turn it off then, outside of the settings menu?

samsung sm-g960u problems with NAND?

i have a samsung sm-g960u, that is locked to Sprint. On attempt to network unlock it by flashing the CP, it decided to never boot into the OS again. To clarify, when it was done flashing (with latest Odin), it reset, and made it to the blue screen with the Android icon, and the spinning arrows that says "Updating system software" and it will stay that way until the battery runs out. Upon using the Volume down and Pwr button reset, instead of taking me to Maintenance Mode, it goes to the black Factory Reset screen. Rebooting, Shutting Down, and rebooting into Download mode, all result in the phone being locked at this screen. I still have Download mode if im quick enoough to hit it after i power cycle it, and ive flashed the stock software successfully ( Odin says anyway) multiple times, with this same result. My question is this: Is this fixable through using the Nand Erase option in Odin? Also in the logs, i noticed it had some lines about the kernal being experimental(?) and to not use it, so im wondering when i flashed that CP modem file, if it somehow re wrote this version kernel into the phone? Im completely at a standstill here and any help would be great, as the phone is completely unusable at this point.
