app to enable fingerprint gestures to access notification panel? - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Can you recommend some trick to enable fingerprint gestures to access notification panel, like in pixel phones. I tried couple of app, but they stopped working after some time, had to re-enable once in a while.

I use this one - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ztc1997.fingerprint2sleep&hl=en, works great. Takes some time to settle in though.

Looks good so far. Thanks

You may also use xda lab's fingerprint gestures.

Anyone got one of these fingerprint gesture apps working with the unofficial LineageOS 16 ROM? I've tried a few but can't get any of them to work.

i'm using finger scanner gestures... it's not in playstore anymore, but it's the only one that i can keep live (no battery optimization and autostart)
it seems our scanner only responds to tapping, none of the apps with swiping seem to work

Huawei Mate 10 Pro - Incredibly slow wake up time

Hi everyone, I got a Huawei Mate 10 pro a while ago and it has been an excellent device so far.
Lately I have been experiencing a bit of an issue with wake up time.
Some times it take a good 10 seconds with my finger on the fingerprint reader before the phone wakes up and unlocks. Some other times I press the lock button dozens of times before it actually wakes up.
Has anybody experienced the same issue?
Be aware that I have tinkered with adb to enable some features with a few apps (mainly to enable gesture based navigation and immersive mode).
Do I factory reset it or is there any way to debug the issue?
Any help is truly appreciated.
I have same issue and I solved it with factory reset.
I think it was adb commands.
With which apps used adb?
I now have oneplus gestures app and hide nav bar via adb for this app and it works like charm.

I had that problem but with POWER BUTTON, when i press it, it wakes up with 3 to 4 sometimes 5 seconds behind. Finger works very fast thou.

I used it mainly with apps that attempted to hide the navbar. But all they did was using the command to change the overscan value, messing up with the position of other elements in the os.
Does your setup hide the navbar completely or does it still pop up when sliding up from the bottom edge?
I'll factory reset it today anyway, because I'm getting really frustrated.

The new face unlock seems to not suffer from this issue on my device, but still I'll reset it

It hides it completely! Oneplus gestures app is the best full screen gesture app by far at least for me.

Pocophone F1's Breathing light & fingerprint scrolling function

Is it possible to
1. make notification light to turn into phone's breathing light? which will blink always. (notification blinking will be 2x or 3x faster than breathing blinking)
2. turn fingerprint sensor into scrolling function? like internet browsing scrolling, facebook scrolling and in homepage bringing down notification panel?
I don't understand what you mean by "breathing light", but there are a few apps that do useful things with the fingerprint sensor, in reply to your second query, though this unfortunately isn't baked into the firmware (my previous phone was a Moto, so had pretty handy Moto gestures natively - v cool).
I've been experimenting with an app called Fingerprint Gestures, which I quite like. I only use it to pull up the home screen, which is tricky sometimes, eg when you're using Google Maps.
Fingerprint Gestures lets you select any of a number of commands, by single, long or double tapping. Unfortunately to get it to scroll you'd need root.
Miui (being a royal pain in the hole) seems to mess with the permissions a bit such that you tend to get pestered about the same permissions repeatedly.
There are a few other similar apps I'm gonna try also.
Edit
I just tried 4 other apps, Fingerprint Action Pro, Fingerprint Gesture, Fingerprint Swipes & Hometouch. Couldn't get any of them to work as well as Fingerprint Gestures

I'm using 'finger scanner gestures', tried a lot of apps but unfortunately none of them seem to be able to handle swiping over scanner... Maybe hardware limitation?
Also, i can confirm, permissions that are already given seem to disappear after a while (happens for other apps too)

I'm on the current beta of Nova, but I tried this and it's even better than stock guestures (and doesn't have that silly overlay message I had with the xda guesture app)

That works actually very good!

Thats Fluid NG (and is nothing to do with nova), not system navigation. It works ok, but nothing like as good as proper built in gestures.

I'm using Fluid GN with Nova right now and am having some issues. First, if I close the Fluid GN app from task list, the gestures stop working. For some reason, the service doesn't seem to persist. I used Tasker to fix this, but it sporadically keeps stopping anyways. I have all the power saving etc features turned off for Fluid GN. Any idea how to get it working 100% on the M10P?

Did you disable the Android Battery Optimisations as well? That's separate from Huawei's app battery manager.
Where can we find the Android battery optimisations?

Open settings and search for Battery Optimisations. Then find Fluid NG and make sure its "Not Allowed". Generally you need to do this for any app you need in the background.

I also found you need to activate "home action compatibility" under "advanced"
Is this an issue only Huawei can fix or is it possible for Nova Launcher to eventually work around it? Fluid is a nice stopgap but it just isn't as good as the phones native gestures.
I find fluid a lot better, actually. Much more customisable and more actions to be set.
Agreed, I actually like the functionality fluid a lot more than the stock one. It's just a shame the animations aren't as good though. It's fine for now though.
maybe disable the huawei gestures and use the xda navigation gestures app or an other not native app
Did you guys use ADB with Fluid N.G. or did you just install it as is?
I had problems with fluid and action launcher... since 9.0.0.146... Working perfectly.
All options set off in advanced and both emui and android power management disabled
Still have the emui gestures on as I don't want the bar showing and it then allows back at the top of your screen too

No ADB needed. You can just switch on gesture navigation in phone settings and then run fluid ng
Cant use fluid Navigation gestures... The animation is nowherw near the stock ones...

Can you enlighten that step by step of disabling powermanagement features, cause my accessibility keeps turning off automatically. Altoug I already have battery optimizations off (System > Settings > Apps > Apps > [three dots menu] > Special Access > Battery optimization : Fluid N.G. - Not allowed.

Trouble with Gestures

Is anyone else having trouble using gestures with third party launchers? For me, they work just fine and then after some time it reverts to buttons and I get the message "System navigation updated. To make changes, go to settings".
Searching around, it seems like people on other phones don't have this problem anymore.
On a different note, I started using fluid navigation gestures (FNG) and I preferred that since I could add more gestures. Problem is if I'm plugged into the dual screen case and I turn off the dual screen - either by turning the screen behind the phone or manually turning it off - and use the notification shade, then the buttons come back and hide and FNG is disabled until I start using the dual screen again.
Anyone have any solutions?

Same annoying issue! I think it happens every time Nova gets restarted but not sure on that. I've searched for a resolution too and can't find one. I tried creating a tasker profile to make it easier to switch back to gestures via a quick setting but it doesn't work. The secure setting to change is navigation_mode value of 2.

Nova shows you an explanation right on the settings page of the problem. Google has not made gestures 100% compatible with 3rd party launchers and there is nothing devs can do until Google gives them what they need
Yes, I've seen that message. I've also seen that Google delivered this ability in December of last year and that some users have this working fine. It's different from when it would gray out the option to use the gestures. This one feels like LGs software is the one resetting the gestures since the notification is titled System UI.
I'd be fine with any solid gesture solution as I'm not mated to the built in gestures, but it seems like others break due to the dual screen. Meanwhile the built in ones fail. I could of course change back to gestures every time this happens, but it feels like I'm using a beta device in this regard.

I don't think it's LG. My wife has the same issue on her Note10, and I have it in both my V60 and my OnePlus 6t all using Nova. Maybe another launcher has implemented the fix?
So far for me Action Launcher seems to be working ok with gestures, even after a reboot. I prefer Nova but this is close.
edit: Dual screen causes the navigation to revert back

Question On-screen Gestures Not Working

Hi guys and girls,
Not into all this programming stuff etc. I got the official update last night on my Xiaomi 11LITE 5G.
Now my onscreen gestures are not working anymore.
Strange, because if you do the training of the gestures, it is working, but once out of there nothing
is working.
So I have to start using the buttons (which is annoying to me)
Anyone else has this problem?

I can help you if you have root. It stopped working on mine too so I use FNG. To get rid of the annoying 3 button navigation use these commands:
1. Download Termux
2. Su
3. "props qemu.hw.mainkeys 1"
4. Reboot
And you've got navigation gestures. Add it to the navigation so you can turn navigations on and off easily

I had also this problem, but only when I use Nova as Launcher.
Gestures works with default launcher. That's annoying, i'm used to nova and his usefull features.
Is there anyway to make the screen turn off and on by double tapping the screen?

Gestures being blocked on third party launchers is an Android 11 limitation.
Nova Launcher have issued a beta version released for Android 11 only, they figured out how to get Gestures working again.
