Never faced this, try clearing data of camera app.

Go out into normal lighting and you'll see better balance. Maybe if you have a range of colours in low light you'll get a truer colour range. I think this "problem" is due to you tricking the AI by giving it stimulation with such a homogeneous palate.
If you bought a phone to take pics of magnolia walls in dark places, you may have the wrong phone. Otherwise until we see some other pics looking wrong, I think you're probably ok.

Tried and it doesn't work

Why don't you try a factory reset if possible? Or use google camera or other camera to diagnose the issue. Else ask for a replacement.

That is because this is normal behaviour of the camera hardware and the image processing firmware. If all your photos were coming out like this there would be a problem.
As it stands there's no reason to think there is.
You can get the best phone camera in the world to take a bad photo if you try to trick it like this.
Notice how in the first shot where there are black objects in shot and colours other than magnolia it's not distorted, but in the second where there's no other comparison colour it is? There's no indication here of a problem.

Don't do any of those things!
I virtually guarantee that if you get another one you'll find the same thing. It's not a fault!

I did it once I got out from the box
Tried difference type of camera apps it's still the same
Replacement would be a perfect solution but I wish a software update could fix it.

Search for the 5 MP related concern, it's not an issue at all, a technique called pixel binning.

How about using gcam by BSG? Here's the link?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/themes/b-s-g-google-camera-port-developed-mi-8-t3843130

white balance issue
it looks like a white balance problem. install google camera app and correct color by setting white balance to sun. Everytime you have to do that is annoying.

i actually had the same issue. I think certain batches of phones need some software calibration for the camera. It should be fixed in future software updates. I returned the first 2 poco's i had due to this issue.. The 3rd phone i bought was ok.

I had the same issue. It's a white balance problem with fluorescent light.

Xperia S camera flash bug

Seems its a bug in ICS. Try taking a pic in the dark with flash on, the flash goes off before the pic is taken.
My friend has the same issue on his XS.
did you try another camera app? try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moblynx.cameraics&hl=de to see whether the issue only occours with the sony camera app or others too
Didn't try other app. Don't you have this bug ?
Yes, I think I have also seen this problem....
Another bug in the camera app?
I've never used the flash actually but now I atleast know that it can happen.
I really don't understand Sony here. There are so many bugs...

I don't have any such problem with camera flash while taking pics in total dark. I have been testing the camera flash in the dark off and on since last week & it is working just fine for me. Looks like we all have some or other issues with the camera app on ICS so far! Btw do you face the same issue on various modes other than auto mode? Will keep you posted if i find this bug though!
I've tried this with 3 different Xperia S now and none have this problem.
The light comes on for a few seconds to allow the camera to focus. Then it will turn itself off, followed by the picture being taken.
I just took 9 pictures and all of them are well lit (small but pitch black bathroom) and all are in focus.
So just try doing it like with any camera, press camera button half way and let the light come on so it can focus, when you get a green square(s) press the button all the way and the flash will fire again.
That Moblynx camera app installed in cm9 rom, and i dont like it...
I dont have a problem with stock cam. I love it. Everythink works fine, and it has many option. But if you want good photos buy a camera

Well yes that's how it works on my phone as well. But on GB the light would stay on unless I released the camera shutter button. The actual photos come out clean, no problems there. Just that the flash doesn't stay on continuously like in GB.

Hmmm.. i see, i thought you meant your pics came out dark as flash wouldn't fire. Anyways it happens on mine too but i don't think its a bug or issue. I mean why waste battery keeping it on after the camera has focussed! Flash is fine for me as long as it does its job. Also, it is usual on all other camera phones/ cameras i've used (cameras, of course, have the IR though).
Maybe sony make it to be less battery consumption!

Yellow tint on camera

This issue is driving me insane. It appeared with Amber / GDR2.
I thought it was only with the Pro Cam app, but it extends to every single other camera app (tried ProShot, OneShot, 6tag, everything) out there, including the default WP8 camera - it's more easily noticeable on Pro Cam though.
You take a picture (try taking a picture of any silver or grey object, doesn't matter the lighting, it's the best color to notice the tint) and it's perfect. Two seconds later, the post-processing kicks in and results in a very yellow tinted, blurry picture. I thought it was the viewer on Pro Cam, so I transfered it to my PC and it's not. It's really awful, because you see, as soon as you take the shot, a very sharp, very nice coloured picture just to see it being destroyed by horrible post processing two seconds after.
I've been searching similar cases on the internet and I found a great number of people with the same problem, specially on reddit and Windows Phone centered blogs. I don't think Nokia is doing anything about it soon and GDR3 will probably be as late as ever to correct it.
Any ideas how to bypass the auto post processing? I tried every single setting on Pro Cam and default camera and the result is the same.
Examples:
As soon as you take the picture it looks like this

The camera apps process the pics to a lower resolution to make them less processor-hungry and easier to view on the phone. And, the yellowish color happens to be one of the processed results.
But, if you upload your pics to your computer (or SkyDrive) you'll notice that the yellowish color is gone, the pics are beautiful and in high-resolution (Try to watch them on a HD screen and you'll see what I mean).
It is a known flaw and they're probably working on an update as we write this.

To be honest, the uploaded photos still not really good.
I think Nokia need pay more effort to the camera in 920, even my Dad's 520, the white balance and sharpness is much better than my 920

For anyone that also uses Norton, there is a conflict and Norton will flag it as maleware. You can't "trust" it and you can't dismiss the Norton notification.
Everything works for me except photosphere. It will capture a photosphere image, but it's distorted and stretched.
Despite that, the HDR+ function works so good, and I think it looks better than the LG camera.
I've tested it, result: both are good, but LG more real and google HDR+ more punchy. However I fiind LG calera better...
No matter how much 3rd party camera offers, only stock camera takes better picture.
thanks for this post! wouldn't know otherwise, i did test it and its pretty awesome!
Especially more realistic colours in low light if you can keep the camera stable. Not to be used for moving subjects.
In Daylight, the G6's camera is great by itself so i probably won't use it in those scenarios.

Left is LG Camera, Right is Google camera w/ HDR+
Real life looked very close to how the Google camera processed the image.
@dkimmortal that comparison is great! Can't believe how Google app made a difference there!
Here's my quick comparison also, difference is night and day! What's wrong with LG?
Testing it so far seems its shocking in low light? Images are so noisy, poor colour.
Sounds great, but can't even get it to install on my G6 (european).
I Download the apk, click ist to install, but just can't hit the "install" button, just "cancel".
Of course "other sources" are allowed in settings. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

You may have some app that have screen overlay on (draw over other apps) like screen rotation or f.lux. Find it and disable that permission when install this.
Tried it today in low light and its a significant improvement. Not sure about daylight so will look at that as well. Obvioulsy only works with one lens.
Mine keeps crashing sometimes when I take a photo - I think it might be due to setting the resolution at 16:9 (9.7mp) resolution. Missed a great shot as well!

Any other improvements compared to Huaweis app?
As far as we can tell, this camera port relies on the Hexagon 680 DSP on a Snapdragon SoC for image processing, which is why this port does not work on other SoCs such as Kirin, Exynos, and MediaTek.
Does it work or not?

no, 2nd link for snapdragon is the one that works
For the peeps who are saying that it works, yes it works but there is no difference in the photo, I tried this app like five days ago and also tried with the latest release even tho I knew that it needs the snapdragon DSP to work, the app crashes if you change settings and choose limited plus the other recommendations that they give on the thread where they have the app. I tried all of the settings made several photos indoor and outdoor and it doesn't work it just takes the pictures like any other camera app would, it doesn't even have the HDR mode activated, a proof of that is that if you try to take a picture with the regular camera app on HDR and with the HDR+ activated from the app you can clearly see the difference of one that works on HDR and one that doesn't . Video recording also is broken on 60fps and slow motion as well. I uninstalled the app after a couple of days trying it out with every option possible . But the truth is "IT DOESNT PROVIDE ANY BENEFITS OVER THE REGULAR CAMERA APP" with out the HDR+ it's just as any other camera app out there. Honestly I been playing lots with the P10 camera app and have found that it truly is a great cam, I would recommend shooting in RAW mode and using Snapseed for editing. Plus Snapseed has some useful tips on how to improve your skills with photography.

It would be great to have something like hdr+, even if it's software-enabled, for our Huawei's camera. I have a P10 lite now, but my previous handset was a Nexus 5X, and hdr+ is the only thing I miss right now.

Google Camera Port

Hey guys and girls.
i had an nexus 5x before i switched to the Samsung Gang (A520F)
Loved my nexus , but they used weak chips (my Nexus just died and thats when i first heard of this issue)
What i most liked bout the Nexus 5x, was its camera. HDR+ shot were really fantastic, popping colors and were awesome to look at.
lot of people liked this camera and its software, so this guy is porting the camera app to other devices.

i was just glad to be able to take photos, and compared it to the standard camera app, it's way better!!
much sharper , and i did not experiment much till now, there are plenty of option to around with.. so please give it a try and share your settings.

Try one of the updated versions from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/how-to/google-camera-hdr-b-s-g-port-version-t3659879/page22
For me it's working - at least partially. Front cam and auto HDR are broken.
One version, the installer tells me it's not suitable for my phone - an A3. It was an apk file.
Hello @SchWeinSAuG, could you please upload your APK file or tell which version you used? I've tried a few and I can't get HDR+ to work, even when using your settings.
It works but with 2 problems. The flash is out of sync and the pics are too dark compared with the normal app.
As someone said earlier, the photos don't look that different from the stock camera. I tried many parameters and got basically the same results.
Could someone tell me if the Google Camera app runs on your A5 2017 and what is the version that you use?
I downloaded an application some time ago but the HDR + did not work, nor have I obtained better results than with the stock camera.
I would like someone to tell me if the HDR + works and if the photos are better than with the stock, and also what is the configuration to do in the settings for it.
Also, I would like to know if there's any option to activate the Digital Stabilizer for the videos in the app.
If there is one that works well, put the download link, please!
Thank you very much!

hello, I use the port found in the following subject, With v4 version :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/themes/google-camera-portrait-mode-t3736859/page44
I think the photos are nicer compared to the stock version, the only problem is that I was not successful to operate the portrait mode, so I use the lens blur.
Below the configuration that I use and some photo
Bye

In developer settings, turned on camera:gcam_enabled and the portrait mode is working.
