Internet not working while on a call - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I have just bought poco f1. Mostly i am happy with my decision. I use bsnl sim as my first sim and jio as my second with data assigned to jio. Volte is also enabled. I see that when i am on a call the internet is not working , 4G icon also vanishes. I am sure this has a simple fix, someone please suggest.

I'm pretty sure when you are on a call on a network, you can't use data on the same network unless you have volte enablef. I could be wrong.

When you're on call the 4G symbol disappears and you'll get only 3G. It's happening with me. Internet is working and speed is also good.

That is normal, had it on a lot of phones.

With volte services on u will get 4g data while on calls. If u r not on Volte the data network will change to 3g or 2g and data will keep on working .
But there's a catch , in dual sim mode only one sim data is active . So if u have Jio and BSNL sim and Jio has data
1. If BSNL call comes u won't be able to access data during data.
2. If Jio calling is used u will get 4g data during call also.
U can try putting Jio in 2nd sim slot and enable dual 4g and also enable use 2nd sim data if volte call.

I have enabled dual 4g and also enabled to use data on 2nd sim if volte call, but still i cannot access data while on call. I have airtel in slot one and jio in 2. Data is selected on 2nd mostly i use airtel for calling. Any new ideas?

Network connection should work even on calls, but limited to 2G or 3G. This is not normal on first sim card.

Enable this.

Jio internet

Dear experts,
I wish to convey a problem I am experiencing using One plus 3T. I dont know if other users using Jio have experienced. In my Xiaomi note 3 I often keep mobile data of Jio off and switch on other service provider's data on and still receive voice call or send sms through Jio. I cant use internet in keeping data off. But in my 3T no such separate option of mobile data is available. If I keep Jio mobile data off, and opt for mobile data of other service provider Jio sim slot shows blank and I can't use Jio service at all . Please show me a way.
Wrong section,
You sure u can use calls and messages if u select data on other network apart from Jio ?
Asking coz as soon u shift data to other simcard Jio will loose network as Jio is a full time 4G network and switching data will put the 4g band to the selected simcard.

V30+ India Jio in Sim2 slot issue

I am facing issue with Jio network. If i choose mobile data from Jio sim it works fine (in both sim1 and sim2 slots). However if i choose Mobile data from other sim (vodafone in my case) Jio sim doesnt work. As soon as i switch data from Jio to Vodafone i get warning popup that Volte will stopped working and after that Jio network goes to Emergwncy calls only.
Anyone else facing this issue? Is there any way to work Jio sim just for calls and use mobile data from other sim? Please advise.

Because Jio is 4G-only network, it doesn't have 3G or 2G network to fallback unlike Airtel and Vodafone(in your case)which has 3G and 2G so it can fallback if you switch data to other sim.

Can't use two sim at the same time in any custom rom (Airtel 4g + Jio)

Hi All
I am was on RR(official) {also on bootlegger} and trying to use two sims (one Reliance JIO and other is Airtel 4G) but getting network coverage only in one sim whichever I set as default for data. If i set airtel as default data sim then only airtel sim will get signal and if JIO selected then only it will get network.
No service in other sim, even tried searching for network but getting an error "Error while searching for network", so not able to use dual sim on RR or any other custom rom.
I tried the same thing with MIUI and both the sims are working fine.
Does anybody has an idea how to fix that and use dual sim in custom roms.
Thanks in advance.

Please help, some oreo rom without network issues

Hello,
Can someone please suggest me some oreo based rom which doesn't have network issue. As, I'm in India with Jio & Bsnl as my two networks, and everyday once in a while bsnl stop taking calls.:crying:
I have pretty good network coverage on both networks(i.e. Jio & Bsnl).
I'm on Bootleggers rom 8.1 latest build for Kenzo device.
I use Jio as my primary data sim with LTE network, and bsnl as my primary sim for calls.
Maybe this configuration is issue or the rom itself idk.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.:highfive:

okay here's what i had done, firstly i have flashed latest 8.7.3's firmware & modem files(thought it might resolve my bad network reception nd sometimes network loss issue), but to my bad it make it more worse.
I lost my volte ?
Then, after some searching I flashed full global rom of miui 10, but it was also not able to get my volte back, nd even get my imei erased ?
So, after all this I flashed my full backup of stock rom. which gave me back my mobile's imei & volte back.
Then, I flased cardinal rom this time, i didn't faced network drop this time, but BSNL's reception were low as before only.
And after some searching, I went through this post
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/fix-low-weak-poor-wifi-signal-en-redmi-t3750278
& gave it a shot. IDK of others but it improved my both network's reception ?.
I think you should also try this guide, it will improve network reception of both wifi nd mobile network.
Currently, I'm with almost full reception on both network's. will see if I face any issues with this tweak.

Sorry, rightnow I don't have the mobile, coz it's my mother's mobile will upload pics also as soon as I get mobile.
But, for some reference here's the link:
http://en.miui.com/thread-3019322-1-1.html
I just stick foil paper on both left & right ends.
But, my problem still persists of call not working for BSNL.
here's what I have in configurations & what problem I am facing.
# I have two sim cards:
in 1st slot BSNL
in 2nd slot JIO
As, mentioned by you I have selected global as preferred network for both the sim cards
(But, as personally observed by me, this doesn't matter much, if settings are GSM & LTE or both Global).
I have more than half network coverage in my mobile every time.
# My configuration in Sim settings is as follows:
Preferred data : Jio
Preferred call : BSNL
Preferred sms : Jio/BSNL (Does't matter)
Volte is working fine :good:, internet is working fine also, but by this configurations I get call issues in BSNL.
# Changes I perform which resolves call issues of BSNL are:
Preferred data : BSNL
^^Rest settings as above
This resolves the call connecting issues of BSNL, but as soon as I perform this change, Jio's volte stops & internet also (internet is obvious).
So, that's what I am facing. Try this yourself & see if you also facing, if not then what's the problem.
I know the culprit is "preferred data".
Summary,
# If preferred data BSNL, then volte issues
# If preferred data Jio, then call issues
Please tell me what to do.

No, I was not having issues with miui global rom, and now I figured out why
Firstly, all the issues were caused because of the sim configuration settings only, coz previously when I was on miui rom I was using Jio as my primary sim for all the things (i.e. calls, net, and msg)
But, now I was using BSNL for call, & rest Jio
So, the solution came out that when volte is enabled in a mobile, then the same sim card should be used for calling on which volte is enabled.
I mean, as I was using BSNL and Jio sim cards, I was also enabling volte in my network settings for Jio, which enables volte for both sim cards.
And VoLTE = Voice over LTE, but BSNL doesn't have a LTE network available.
So, that was causing the issues in connecting calls.
So, the solution was simple
Disabled volte(or Enhanced LTE).
Now, all things are working good calls, data, msg :highfive:
Thanks for being helpful bro. :victory:
and are you able to do that foil paper hack ?

Pls help - Dual Volte - using data on sim 2 when sim 1 is on call

I see this options in the setting menu and I have enabled it -
"use mobile data during volte calls on secondary sim"
However, when I get a call on my Airtel number my data from Jio stops working.
Set up info.
My Airtel number is 4g enabled not sure how I can check if it has volte enabled (I have already selected the volte option in the settings menu for Airtel sim)
Please help.

2nd sim data only works if u r on volte call with the first sim.
If Ur Airtel is volte enabled then a volte symbol shows next to the signal bar in notification shade. And if Airtel is Ur data enabled sim then the status bar will still show 4g otherwise will shift to 3g or E

You'd see two VoLTE signs if VoLTE is active on both networks.
I am using Jio and Airtel volte both. Airtel VoLTE can be activated by requesting to customer care via email, twitter, etc.
