Heads Up Stoplist in MIUI 10? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, I've been using custom ROMs for an extended amount of time, and I'm thinking of going back to MIUI to see if I can live with it, since I find the scrolling screenshot quite useful, and also the swiping on the hardware buttons to enter One-Handed Mode.
However, there's this thing about custom ROMs that I really like, which is the ability to add an app (example a game) to the Stoplist of Heads Up notifications, which prevents them from popping up while I am in that specific app. Is there any way to achieve the same thing in MIUI?
Thanks for any response and help

From Marshmallow to Oreo there is lot of difference in the core of the framework. Oreo brings u lot of features further in blocking notification individually.
miui marshmallow is fully stable but u will miss those more customisation in MM.

One of the reasons I'm thinking of going with MIUI 10 Beta is because of battery life. I own this phone for a little over 2 years now, and most of the posts or videos I've seen says Nougat has better battery than Oreo, and Marshmallow has better battery than Nougat. Is it really a big difference, now that Nougat and Oreo have been released for quite a while now?

U can install pixel experience rom oreo. I think it has good SOT.
I m on cardinal treble rom. I m getting good battery.
If u getting like 1. 5 days of battery after doing normal use on marshmallow then better switch.
If u want miui then u can install Miui Eu rom. Its lighter miui with only playstore. No unnecessary stock gapps running background. May be will offer u more bttery.

Dont know dude.
Pixel experience will give u stock android experience. Very minimal customisation.
I use cardinal aosp or aosp extended. These are my favourites. I will stay with oreo atleast for another 6 months before pie gets android 9.1 update.
Now cardinal aosp is in treble format. If u want to try it then use treble recovery. Check battery by urself. I cant tell.
I m not much into notification blocking. Neither i spend time in setting permission for every app.

Help finding a custom ROM with these specific features

Hello guys I have been using kenzo since like four months ago, I have been flashing many ROMs, but perhaps not as many as you have, so lately I have been fond of using navbar buttons because its more responsive compared to hardware keys ,
My request here is
Please help me find a ROM which
1. Has the option to disable or enable both navbar and hardware buttons
2.is Aosp based (its OK if CM based tho, but we all know even cm13 has loads of unsolved issues such as stuttering ui, battery drain, etc )
3.is on android Nougat , but MM is OK tho
Thanks for the attention and help :fingers-crossed:

RR Since last 6 months but looking for an oreo ROM
The only problem is all the oreo ROMs I've tried has issue with Pitch Black theme (or you can say Pitch Black theme as issue with oreo) Except Cardinal ROM......Whenever I apply dark theme on notifications, background colour turns dark as it was supposed to be but the texts remain black which makes it impossible to see notifications, though theme is working fine in Cardinal ROM but the missing feature of this ROM is it doesn't have
1 Memory ( RAM ) bar in recent apps
2 Force expanded notifications
3 Screen off torch options
so I'm back to RR.

I have tried ASOP Extended but as I said, it also has that notification theming problem
All the oreo ROMs I've tried are
1 Cardinal (The only ROM in which theme is working perfect but has some other features missing)
2 AOSP Extended (Theming Problem)
3 CR Droid (Theming Problem)
4 Cosmic OS (Theming Problem)
5 Liquid Remix (Theming Problem)
6 InvictaOS ( I think the best Oreo ROM with all the essential features but again Theming Problem )

There is no problem with oreo ROMs all the oreo ROMs I tried are smooth af and you can use them as your daily driver even oreo ROMs are much better than nougat, and the best part is you can have more apps running in memory as compared to nougat but the only problem I'm facing is that dark themes cannot be applied on oreo ROMs, I tried describing the problem in my previous replies ( I'm not sure if only that particular theme I'm using has problem with oreo or all the other themes ) ......so if you are not into theming and stuffs, you should definitely go for Oreo

I am definitely not into theming, or heavy customisation. My main concerns are rock-solid stability, working bluetooth car phone and audio, up-to-date Android security updates, and, most importantly, leanness (i.e., core functionality only - I have my own favorite apps, and I don't need bloated ROMs, especially battery suckers). My preference is for ROMs based on AOSP-CAF - but it seems that there is currently no Oreo ROM of that nature.

Is your device stuttering that much on Oreo ROMs?

As in title. EVERY single oreo ROM works good for a while, and after like 2 hours it's starting to lag, stutter and is practically unusable. What's the reason behind that? Nougat ROMs works like a charm tho
I'm experiencing it too. I've tried 12 Oreo roms so far.

I haven't experienced any lags that make phone unusuable. A few spikes might come up when using and switching between heavy apps maybe, but not in a way that make phone feel laggy. I use this phone as a daily driver so i can't stand with lags etc. That was my main concern before switching to oreo, but it looks really fine to me. Also, using velvet kernel (limited to 1.6ghz by default) those tiny spikes i mentioned look normal to me. I don't use phone for gaming, so it's enough for me as long as battery and smoothness are balanced.

Try pressing recents button from home. If you have overlays like swipepad, you'll experience extreme stuttering when you go to recents from your homescreen.
This doesn't happen in nougat ROMs.

It struggles to render when you have a lot of overlays like swipepad or Facebook chat heads or some floating thingie on your screen. Since not everyone uses them, only a small number of people experience the stutters and hence their posts get ignored.
The issue is with "surfaceflinger", which is what is responsible for drawing UI elements. Test using swipepad on your RR ROM. Install it, enable it, go to home and press recents. If you're not sure, try more apps that draw on your screen (like screen filter, meteor swipe etc)
Please report the results here as I'd be happy to switch to any Oreo rom that doesn't have the issue (but I'm pretty sure I've tried them all and omnirom had it the least, so I'm on that). Also I'd like to know whether the OP uses any such apps.

In my opinion, stay with Nougat for now. There are many awesome Oreo ROMs out there (thanks to the amazing developers) but most of them have some bugs. If you want stability, I suggest you stick to Lineage or any other nougat ROM for now.
Kudos to developers!

Best Oreo ROM with Customizations? (currently planning to go with RR Oreo)

I'm currently using NitrogenOS Oreo, but I'm having a little bit of issue with Play Store not auto-updating my apps when I charge my phone, and Facebook being wonky. I want to try out Resurrection Remix Oreo, but I'm not sure if it has any known issues, since they don't write it on their main post, so any RR users out there can tell me how it is?
And I would also like to hear suggestions for other Oreo ROMs which are stable and has customizations like NOS or RR. One feature I really like about NOS is the ability to turn off heads-up notifications in specified apps, which is really useful in games, when I can still hear the notification but don't get visual interruptions.
Thanks for reading my long post and I'd appreciate any help given!!

Yes, if the one from http://opengapps.org is what you mean by "official".

With this many roms available, which one to choose.

I'm now using LineageOS, which is nice, stable enough for daily.
But I'm curious about all other roms, what are the differences?
I think miui.eu is the closest to stock miui (it's a stock without ads), still contain a lot of mi-malware.
LineageOS is quite close to AOSP, but what about all the AOiSP, PixelEx, Arrow, RR, Nitro, Dot?
What are the major "selling points" of these roms?
From what I read RR is the most ...take them all... rom, that take every mod possible, but I never know about the other.
On personal level I would either prefer Lineage OS or Pixel Experience, bcoz LOS provides a lot of cool features for near stock like experience and PixEx bcoz I love pixels software experience
Well for the moment in my personal opinion i tried all rom's: went back to miui 9 or 10 beta
Installing aosp based custom roms feels like a visual downgrade for me (even the pixel one) its also full of bugs at the moment and its not as near as responsive / smooth like miui sorry
For now, using EU based MI-Globe Rom 8.10.18. Battery life is not great. Rom needs debloating.
Not using poco as daily driver.
Well it depends on user to user some prefer simple UI with good battery life and some prefer customisation with good performance personally I prefer performance over battery life and nothing comes close to stock as of now because most ROMs available for our device are not built from our device trees.

I'm a RR fanboy from LP days so I can tell you a bit about it. In summary, RR contains almost all customisations from every ROM available in a single package.
But then again, why doesn't everyone use RR? Because not everybody likes a plethora of options, and not everybody needs them.
Try Lineage first with pico gapps. Then, download the add-ons you need from the playstore. When you reach a stable enough condition for your daily use, re-evaluate your needs. If you think you're comfortable with not getting 10+ options of customisation on Status bar clock and happy with what you have, then you've met your match.
Otherwise, hop on mate!

Does the Mi-globe rom have the volume button for Media per default or it's Ringing per default ? So when you are on homescreen when you push a volume button does it change the Media volume or Ringing/notification volume ?
Because on Global it's Media but on Xiaomi.eu it's Ringing..
miui globe rom is the most customizable rom like miui stock rom. Practically you assemble and config the rom of your own way in the globesite. Battery, speed and weekly update whitin rom. to use a different rom of the miui´s on a xiomi is not using the whole potential of the hardware....

But I'm also curious with outher roms, how much more customisation I could get out of them.
It all boils down to your preference. each rom has its own implementation of things/features which in my opinion is great since android enthusiasts can choose a rom that fits one's preference.

miui globe rom is the most customizable rom like miui stock rom. Practically you assemble and config the rom of your own way in the globesite. Battery, speed and weekly update whitin rom. to use a different rom of the miui´s on a xiomi is not using the whole potential of the hardware....

Is there any bloatware in globe, has it all been removed?
I tried almost all roms myself and in the end setteld with miui eu rom. This means a lot for me since I always flashed aosp rom onto my phone and used Nexus 5X prior to Pocophone.
Miui 10 is actually quite nice looking. And after debloating it runs fine.
To be honest, today you can swap most apps to a different ones you prefer. I personally installed Google Dialer, Contacts, Messaging, Photos, Calendar, Claculator, Notes and uninstalled all build in miui apps. Installed Google Sans font.
Because of this everyday usage is quite close to stock android, with exception of settings and few ui elements.
I personally would love to see good stock android theme for miui 10. I tried few but none of them look very good.

Yes, it works. Of course on the countries enabled.
If your country doesn't have the ir camera, You can always switch your region to a country that has ir camera unlocked.

As mentioned above you need to select supported region, list of which was extend recently.
Added counties work on MIUI 10 beta, not sure about MIUI 9
