Poco f1 & jio 4g+ (ca) - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Received POCO F1 using Jio 4G & Vodafone 4G SIM
on Jio When network latch on 1800Mhz then 4G+ sign Here
but speed is same as 4G (1Mbps) only
& when it latch 850 or 2300 its only 4G & speed is same as 4G
Now Question is Its Really Support 4G+ (4CA) ?

Yes it does imho.
1. Speed of jio I have seen up to 63Mbps, whereas in other phones the same sim at the same location at the same time gives less than 40Mbps.
2. Checked with LTE discovery and Network info lite and both shows LTE_CA with band 40.
3. In the phone settings, about phone, status, sim Jio shows lte_ca whereas voda shows only 4g .
4. Getting good coverage even in rural area with Jio probably due to 4g+
Also Network coverage seems to better and 4g speeds better than other phones, even voda gives good speeds or is it a placebo effect?

no mean my aria no 4g + on jio? becoz not working for mea speed as 0.95mbps on all band

In Spain not 4g+ at all, doesnt allow CA in any combinations of bands. B3, 7 and 20 supported, but can't aggregate any of them, just using one always, tested with another phone that gets perfectly 3xCA.

Glad to see you man..

In they launch event they said that they worked closely with Qualcomm to make sure carrier aggregation works properly in India, but still half assed CA support, maybe in future we can get other bands combination after update.

Has there been any update on this, i mean on supporting of other combination of bands you mentioned with recent updates?
I've been thinking of buying poco f1 but proper CA on Jio is important to me

How to disable 4g+ even though it is giving good coverage ping goes very high while playing online games in the same place where normal 4g phone gives very good ping.

[Q] Mini Pro is really a HSPA enabled handset?

Hii all
I'm from India, using Sony Ericsson Mini pro (u20i) and still in Airtel 2G and here Telecom Operators just started to roll out 3G services. Currently Airtel, Vodafone and TATA Docomo providing 3G services here.
I checked my handset compatibility both in Airtel and Vodafone websites. According to them my Mini Pro is 3G enabled but based on WCDMA technology so i get low speed 3G upto 384kbps. So they are suggesting me to upgrade HSPA enabled handsets that supports higher speed 3G that varies from 14mbps to 21mbps. I have been told that 3g on WCDMA really sucks as compared to HSPA enabled handsets.
According to Tata Docomo which provides HSPA + (also dubbed as 3.5G+) service and as they mentioning in their 3G handset compatibility list that Mini pro supports HSPA and it is a superior 3G ready handset. Sony Ericsson Indian website also states that it has Turbo 3G and HSPA enabled. Even in my handset box it has clearly mentioned that handset has HSPA and Turbo 3G.
Now in the handset settings menu, there is an option to select network mode which only gives only 3 options that is WCDMA only, GSM only and GSM/WCDMA.
So which one is true? Is my Mini Pro HSPA ready handset or only supports WCDMA? What Sony Ericsson and Tata Docomo states is true? or Airtel and Vodafone? Which Sim to buy? Im in great confusion. Please help in this regard.
it is HSPA ready. in spain, with vodafone i get the H icon of HSPA
Its hspa bro..im using mini pro nd while using mtnl hspa I got 3 mbps speed...our handset supports upto 7 mbps speed I think...
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Yeah it IS HSPA enabled, it uses it by default usually, which adds to the miserable battery life if there is no 3g or HSPA signal available, as it continually scans, looking for it.
Mine actually uses HSPA by default, dropping to 3g when the signal is poor and down to G when it loses 3g altogether. (H, 3g, G respectivly).
Rooted phones can also have the full power of the connectivity chip unlocked to achieve up to 8mbps depending on provider and reception etc.
I'm with O2 UK
Quickly knowing your phone is via its signal which either H, E or G on top of the signal strength bars. Mine usually showing H.
I think they goes like this:
H - HSPA
E - Edge
G - 2G or GPRS
Thank u all for clearing my doubts. Got relief now. Really appreciated your help.
what about the mini?

Excuse me? What aside from 802.11n support (which has nothing to do with mobile provider) can be "unlocked" in a rooted phone?

What is Le Max 2's LTE A category?

Anandtech mentions it is LTE-A Category 12 (600 Mbps)
Some sites mention it is Category 6 (300 Mbps)
So what is it exactly?
With the new Non-HLOS.bin shipped with 17 S, there ist no cat 6 LTE , only 150 Mbit cat 4. The + sign at 4G sign doesnt appear
So should I go back to Indian 16S ? I am aware Indian 17S or 18S is on the verge of getting officially released. I prefer the Chinese 17S because battery is absolutely brilliant after removing the bloat. Indian 16S has horrible battery and standby time.
How to check the LTE-A ? I'm on CN 16s, in Malaysia (CA Band_3_7).
Whenever my phone show 4G+, then phone signal will drop for total no signal, can't call or data (Searching mode)

If you get a chance please post your modem version. Thanks.
Snapdragon 820 has X12 modem (category 12 LTE up to 600 Mbps). I have had 4G+ for ages (in Japan on OCN Mobile One, an MNVO on the docomo network). However, as it is an oversubscribed MNVO my speeds are never great and even when getting a CA (4G+) signal they don't really change. My current firmware baseband version is as per this screenshot:

Unfortunately even on the same base chipset some of the radio params are up to the OEM, depending on what band combinations LE have programmed CA may work with some networks and not with others (eg OCN might be using 20Mhz x2 in 800Mhz while ThreeUK might be using 1x 15Mhz on 1800Mhz and 1x 15Mhz in 800Mhz).

Yes, obviously availability of CA depends on carriers and on the LTE bands available to the device. Not all bands are turned on for our device so some people some places are going to be SOL. In the case of OCN the carrier aggregation is probably working with bands 1 & 3 I guess (the other bands OCN use are 19 & 21, which are not available on the LeMax 2).

Ok so far then:
272-05 Three Ireland B3, B20, B8 Not Working
272-01 Vodafone Ireland B3, B20, B8 Not Working
440-10 OCN Japan (NTT) B1, B3, B19, B21 Working
Probably should just google what bands CN Mobile use for CA, that'll be the only thing LeEco will bother to implement in the baseband.

CA is strange. My friend has a Moto Z Play he bought direct from Motorola Japan. He is using OCN, same as me. His Z Play has the same available OCN LTE bands as my LeMax 2 (B1 & B3) and Motorola say it is CA compatible, but while I get 4G+, he doesn't. And another friend has a Japanese version ASUS Zenfone 3 and he gets 4G+ on another MNVO using same docomo network with B1 & B3. So it seems to be a bit of a lottery depending on your device & your region & carrier.

Compatibility isnt straightforward as its also dependent on resource blocks or RBs. Some radios can handle CA 2x 2x20Mhz and some might only manage 2x 2x10Mhz. Thats why reading the RRC messages between tower and handset is useful as OEMs dont release the full config that their UEs broadcast.
Snapdragon 820 aggregates 3 frequencies (3CC). I never managed to force him to do it, but 2 can (2ca).

how to enable 4g+

hi everyone
I'm living in iran and carrier support 4g+ on 3 and 7 band
how to enable 4g+ on my phone?
I believe the phone connects to it automatically, because here in India whenever I go to areas with 4G+ it shows/connects automatically.
my phone also never shows 4G+ even in countries where it should work... and my LTE speed is always low compared to other phones using same network. More here

It is hardware related and depends on which model of the F1 you have. If your F1 model supports bands 3 and 7, then you will get it, otherwise not.

If your carrier supports 4G+ on specific bands, then you can "force" your phone to connect to those specific bands by using apps like Network signal guru.

Unlock true 5G speeds

Iv just came across this in the developer settings
By default network it's set as NSA mode non stand alone, I have switched to SA + NSA.
I do not no if this will have an effect on battery or not.
(I think it might)
NSA relies on the 4G network facilities to provide more speed and higher data bandwidth. A 5G-enabled smartphone will connect to 5G or 4G network depending on conditions.
( standalone ) SA is the true 5G network, where the 5G network has its dedicated 5G facilities to provide enormous speed improvements and minimal network latency (delay). The 5G SA network is independent of the 4G network.
Will obviously only work if your in a 5G area, but I think I see a difference in browser speeds and the full web pages loads up much faster.
Test for yourself.
Switched both options and tried network speed test got no difference. Dubai 5G network

Maybe I'm just seeing things lol, it's ment to take full advantage of the 5g speeds, maybe it doesn't work yet I don't know

Question S22+ snapdragon extremely low 4G speeds outside of USA

Got sent this phone from the US so its snapdragon one. The 4G speed is so terrible rarely exceeds 10mbps and the connection is not stable it loses connection every few seconds. my old phone used to get about 60mbps and a more stable conection (i live in a not so well developed country, this is the standard speed) also on my s22+ on the mobile data it always says "LTE" meanwhile my old poco f2 pro used to have "4G+" 90% of the time. Are all snapdragon samsung phones like this outside the US? And if theres anyway to fix please recommend.

See what channels European countries use and choose the operator of the country you are in and then compare that with the supported channels on your SM-S906U1.
it is supported yes. im not from europe im from ethiopia, but i checked my friends phone band and it says band 3 whilst on my phone it says band 7 while we are both on the same network
