Xiaomi MI Max 2 or Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X?

I was willing to buy the 4/64gb if the Mi Max 2 but then I stumbled upon the Note 4X. Is the Mi max 2 worth it over the Note 4X (~300$ vs ~150$)? Both phones seem similar in specs.
Max Has Bigger screen.
go for Max If u do watch videos and play games go for Max Then. if not then Note 4 is good option, if u want to save some bucks
And note4 has band 20 for lte which the mi max 2 does not.

Max 2 got a better camera sensor, type C connector and larger battery. Other than that, I think it's down to screen size preference.

Difference between models?

So my girlfriend's Redmi Note 4X just broke the screen and she needs a new phone. She was so pleased with it so we wants to try Xiaomi again. However, Xiaomi's model names are so amazingly stupid so I am having trouble choosing.
The first, cheaper, option seem to be the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus.
https://www.honorbuy.com/215-xiaomi-redmi-5-plus-global-version
It is pretty cheap and seems most like the old 4X except the 18:9 screen.
The other option is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
https://www.honorbuy.com/218-xiaomi-redmi-note-5
This looks like a newer phone with a new camera and a new(better?) processor but still with the same screen as the Plus model.
It is also a bit more expensive and only the chinese version seem to be available.
I have seen people here talking about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro but I can't find this model anywhere? Is it the same as Plus?
I was wondering what is the best choice? I will flash LOS on the phone, not sure if that will work on the chinese version or if that version even has support in my country?(Sweden). Which device has the most support here in the forums? Should I buy a "Global" version?
redmi 5 plus = redmi note 5 , and REDMI NOTE 5 PRO is another device
redmi 5 plus and redmi note 5 is same device, but region wise the name is different.
another model is REDMI NOTE 5 PRO with upgraded processor and dual camera, and a front camera of 20MP. I hope the confusion is clear now.

Ok, so just to confirm:
Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Plus is the same device, the name difference is because of regions. However these models exists in various configurations such as different amounts of RAM, storage and colors.
Redmi Note 5 PRO is a newer model with dual cameras, and new CPU.
Is the pro version even out? Because I can't find it. Then I got examples such as this: https://www.honorbuy.com/218-xiaomi-redmi-note-5
Which do have dual cameras and new cpu but no 20MP front camera.

Absolutely correct.
Pro version is availabe here in India.
One easy way to distinguish is PRO version has dual rear camera and 20MP front camera, where redmi 5 plus / redmi note 5 has single camera .

Alright! I just looked at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5px3gLUZgY and he said that the chinese version does not support Band 20, so I will probably wait until the PRO version comes out in a global version.

Quite depends, if you want to give Android a try without any experience with MIUI before, I would say Pocophone is a safe start. It has been around for a while and it has lots of support right now. With pocophone you can try both MIUI and Pure Android (Lineage roms) to see which one you prefer.

What to buy next...

I love my Redmi Note 4X.
In the last two years I have replaced the battery, headphone socket , and power/volume swich assembly.
This phone has been better than any Samsung phone that I have owned.
However, the time will come when I will have to upgrade.
My question is this, what are you thinking of getting next, will you stay with the Redmi series of phones? Will you stick with Xiaomi? Will you switch to another manufacturer?
Share your thoughts.
I am also very happy with my redmi note 4x, I have changed the fingerprint reader and as a guarantee they have given me a new board, I may continue with Xiaomi in the mi range. Or I may buy some Realme or some new Samsung. It will all be a matter of seeing what budget you have.

It appears to be both are end of life. They made a statement suggesting that its due to the lack of demand for the product.

Barely no one wants Android tablets.
yeah...... that's why I had to wait 3 months to get mine....
I have not heard anyting about new mi pad, but I read news about new new Redmi pad. We will see new pads in Redmi line only , I think.
It has a sense. Mi pad 4 was released with android 8 and died with android 8. The not important devices without any android upgrades will be moved to redmi brand.

I'm very much hoping there's an 8-inch model of the Mi Pad 5. I can't bear to think that we won't ever see a more powerful 8" tablet than the Mi Pad 4 :'(
IMHO, (Android) tablets are the best for media consumption and heavy reading.
I've had two Asus, one (pricey) LG, and the Mi Pad 4 and I like them very much.
What I don't like is to get expensive, outdated and/or unwieldy hardware, and that's why I don't care for low-rez displays, feeble processors and 10-inch form factors.
Granted, tablets tend to last much longer than smartphones but when companies say there's no demand for tablets, what they really mean is there's no demand they are willing to supply for the profit they want.
Build me a tablet with a FHD color e-ink display, medium to high processor, decent stereo speakers and long battery life, along with amenities like sd card slot, headphone jack and USB OTG and I'll reach for my wallet in a second....

Looks like the Mi Pad 5 is going to launch tomorrow. I've seen the specs on Geekbench and the look really good, snapdragon 870 and 120Hz display. I'm still happy with my Mi Pad 4 it's running great on Android 11 only thing I don't like about it is speakers on the bottom, would be nice to have a speaker on left and right while using it in landscape.
If I do get one I'll wait for a bit for the price to come down, I'm in no rush to get one.
How do you have android 11 on Mi Pad 4?
