EU version (Dutch) apparantly has no theme store and no swipe up gestures?!? - Oppo Find X Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I got a Dutch Oppo Find X 256GB last friday.
Strangely, there is no theme store available, but when i browse through the system apps, it does show Theme store. Although I can't open it(see screenshot) Does anyone else have this? any solution to downloading/changing themes? I also have no Oppo store, but if i switch region to India for example, i suddenly have the oppo store, but still no theme store.
Also, some have these Iphone X style gesture navigation, but I don't even have that option? Maybe no EU versions have this duo legislation? (see screenshot) Does anyone know how to get it? There are apps but those use accesability service and Oppo decided to make your statusbar orange if you do..:/
Also attached a general screenshot of about phone for the version numbers.
p.s. things like oppo cloud are also unavailable but I didn't intent on using that anyway.

Hi there,
Answering to your question about the theme store:
Am not sure what has happened, but here in Indonesia, that kind of thing happened because we tried to install another theme store apk that isn't compatible with the phone version... The theme store icon on the homescreen somehow dissappear, but the app is still there when you look for it on the system app list...
And we have a solution for this, which are:
Install these apps based on the number
(link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hABakrDiUwl_oJhYpjHi3bKKrR-9rHIR/view?usp=drivesdk), and when you get to number 4, clear data of the theme store, and reboot the phone...
Hopefully these steps works on yours.
For the navigation gesture, am not sure what happened there but I think the last solution for your issues is to go to Oppo Service Center and have them flash your phone...
This will solve both the theme store app and nav gesture issue...
Or you can try to reset your phone to its factory state and see...

Where did you buy it?

Thanks for the reply,
As for the google drive link.. it says google doesn't allow acces to the file due to it not being compliant with their service policy.
As for the flashing.. The thing is there's no Oppo service center nearby, and I don't know if swipe up gestures and such are supported on the EU variants.. as it seems to be left out deliberately.. (Maybe Apple has patented it?) Factory resetting didn't change anything unfortunately.

Another link would be nice, i'd like to see if I can get a way to acces Oppo find X themes, as the regular play store doesn't seem to hold any.
Yea I tried that xda dev app, which works but it requires the accesabiltiy service. On normal phones no problem but Oppo insist on making your statusbar flash orange if you use either accesability service or developer options.. pretty stupid, I know. But I haven't found a way around it.

Thanks for the link, apk 1 and 3 give a 'not installed' error. 2 and 4 work.
and it does change something, now i have a 'downloaded themes' section in 'set theme' where before was only the 'system themes'.
However I have no acces to a theme store. Clearing theme store data and rebooting didn't help, neither did uninstalling updates to the theme store and rebooting...

Wow... Drop an email to Oppo CS, see what they say...
This method usually works for us...

There so many version of these...
So which is the best version to get?
I know the china version is not preferred.
Which version comes with the supervooc charger?
Which version has play store built in and has gesture enable?

Yep indeed,
Mine does have supervooc btw(atleast according to the charger and cable), which I find weird since it's not the lambo version and thus only has 1 battery oppose to the two of the lambo.
but no iphone style gestures.. I'm gonna see if I can find a way to get in touch with Oppo
Most annoying is the no theme store, now there's basically no way to ever change themes. (since andromeda+substratum isnt working either)

anyone with the India or the France version can chime in and let us know if they have gesture and supervooc?

I have EU version from france.
I confirm that this version has super vooc and no themes app and gestures.
It seems that is a software related. It must be some reason why oppo removed gestures from settings.

I have India version. It has swipe gestures but not super vooc. I am now confused...is super vooc software or hardware related?

Ok this is super confusing!! Why so many variant??
So far there's:
China version - 128gb, no Google app built in, regular vooc charger. Gesture enabled. Can't change launcher.
Indian version: 256gb. Google app built in. Regular vooc charger. Gesture enabled
UK version: 256gb. Google app built in. Supervooc charger. No gesture.
Lamborghini version - ???? Anyone who have this??

Oppo said that some regions will have super vooc.. EU variants support super vooc. As far as swipe gestures this is sofrware related not hardware. For some reason oppo did this. Maybe oppo removed this fuction for better battery optimizations as super vooc models have smaller battery 3400.

After reading this thread, I think I may buy the cheap Chinese version with play store installed.

Wouldn't the India version be the better version?
Gesture and bigger battery?
Can you just buy the supervooc charger separately?
Can anyone confirm that the UK version has the smaller 3400ma battery?
I'm trying to decide what to buy. And this is all kind of confusing.

China: right as you wrote but no google play ( esasy to install). Just few languages. Battery 3730 mha vooc and gesture. I have this one
Indian: right as you wrote. Google play inside. Global languages. Battery 3730 mha vooc and gesture.
European: it's uk too. Right as you wrote. Google play inside. Global languages. 3400mha supervooc but no gestures.
Lamborghini: same as EU version but more expensive (more beautiful and a lot of stuffs inside the box)
That's all
Supervooc is hardware so you can't have it just with the charger

yeah, you need to do at least one EMUI update to get the Microsoft Translator. I got it after my phone notified me of the first update. The second EMUI update adds live wallpapers and the Amazon video app (which I uninstalled immediately).
I haven't received a second one yet... When did it happen?

on my mate 10 pro after the root the translator app has disappeared, can someone extract the apk and put it here?
Yes is possible I my phone.
I've downloaded it from the Play Store, is it the same as the stock one?
I think I may have accidentally deleted it
I tried it, but it's kind of slow, took 10 seconds to translate this:

Hi, I'm from the Microsoft Translator engineering team in "sunny" Seattle, WA.
If the event you don't have the app installed (or removed it unintentionally) in theory you should be able to just go to the Huawei store (not Google play as we can't put two versions of the app there) and re-install it.
However, after I saw this post we went to check and realized it's not there. We're talking to our Huawei engineering partners soon and hopefully it will be fixed shortly. Then, if the Huawei store detects it's a Mate 10 or Honor view 10 it will automatically send you the IA-build. Other Huawei phones will get the "vanilla" version that has all the same features but the NMT offline translations packs, just regular SMT ones (still probably the best on the market based on our internal testing from last year!).
Note: All cloud translations as AI (well, for supported NMT languages!), it's only when you're offline and for the dozen NMT offline pack (easy to know which ones: they're 1/2 the size of the non-NMT ones, 100MB instead of 200MB) that you'll use the Kirin processor accelerated translations.
Note 2: if you had it on the phone, and I know it's kind of brute force, you can factory reset your phone and it should come back.
I hope it helps and for any app questions the best is to just ask them on our Uservoice forum ( we monitor it daily): microsofttranslator.uservoice.com

No, it's the default one, without offline NMT support. If you're online it makes absolutely no difference though.

Other tip: the icon is slightly different. The standard app has as "a" and a Japanese character in the icon. The Huawei version has a "a" and a Chinese character.

no, only text translation offline
For me it doesn't work anymore. It always says "can't translate this" no matter what I point my camera on. Also text gets the same error immediately after opening the menu even before typing in text. Same for voice

China vs international vs UK Rom.

There seem to be a few variant of the ROM depending on the region. Major difference base on what everyone is saying there is that the Chinese rom is horrible and the global/UK rom is better.
Well I have a OPX China version coming this week. It was a decent deal that why i went for it instead of the other version. So how screwed am I?
Is the China version really crippled? Is there a way to at least make it similar to the global rom? I know google play need to be installed and some app needs colorOS apps need to be removed.
How about notification and ram management? And major difference compare to the global ROM? Thanks for any feed back.
People complained about not being able to add a custom launcher. But you could always use adb to remove the coloros launcher to force the device to use the custom launcher. Also, all global variants are exactly the same, there really is no distinction between them.
My GF is using chinese edition and I am using AU edition, and both of us are in US, so I think I am able to tell you something.
Chinese edition is really for China(I am a Chinese so I know it). It will be perfect in China, but a disaster anywhere else in the world. You can always install google play in the original store and also uninstall some stock software and replace the launcher with adb. But three things are hard to change:
1. The background task is limited to 5.
2. Only the white listed app can auto start, other than the app in the list, only 5 are allowed.
3. G assistant can't work well, and G feed for Nova launcher as well. You will never be able to use ok google or hey google.
And for global version. The background management is worse than what I did with Brevent. And there is no great animation when you do super vooc charge. Other things are perfect.
Oppo is working on allowing bl unlock and Wuxianlin bet her own weibo account for it, so you will be able to flash global version soon.
Thank you for the great input!
I guess the China version is really crippled
Can you change the texting app to 3rd party and/mms like textra?
Whats the point of the 8gig of ram if they won't utilize it.

I keep thinking that if someone can find the variant identifiers in the roms we can make the phone think the international or eu rom is the Chinese one and spoof it into allowing it to install.

Is the Australian version International?

Hey! I'm looking into getting the Oppo Find X. I live on the UK and I realise that I can get it in Europe in France or something but it is €999 which is around £880. I did some digging and found I can import the Australian version because it's cheaper and is around £700. (Note I can only afford around £700 so please don't say just to import it from France anyway).
I would like to know if the Oppo Find X Australian version is basically the international version and if it comes with the following things...
1. Google Play Services
2. Ability to change launcher
3. If the Australian version is missing any features the Europe version has.
4. Will I receive notifications
Thank you and hope to get an Oppo Find X soon!
Hello. First, there's no really "international version" of this phone. You have Chinese version, Spanish version, french version, Australian version, etc.
They all are pretty much the same. The only one that is different is the Chinese version.
Regarding your question:
1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Don't think so, cause they are pretty much the same. What you will miss in all version, except Chinese version, is the navigation gestures. Oh, and the oppo change theme store. But if you're planning to use a third party launcher that won't affect you
4) Probably you will have to make some adjustments to get your notifications

Thank you so much! The navigation gestures not being there is kinda annoying but idm haha. Thank you and hopefully I can get the phone soon (going from Note 8)! Big help, thanks!
You're welcome!
I have the Chinese version and it's good. I'm very used to the navigation gestures so not having it in others version is very disappointed, but that's my opinion. And not having Spanish language is not good neither, but I use more locale and is good now.
This phone with stock Android would be the best phone ever.
Probably the worst thing about this phone is the notifications, not just having problem with receiving them, but I hate that they're not show in the status bar. You have to swipe down to see them...very annoying.
I'm using Australian version 128gb with vooc. I have both gestures, and theme store. We also have 256gb Super vooc and Lamborghini. I can't comment on them.

In regards to your first point; You can view the frequencies that are being used by the phone online (I usually use GSM arena or just a google search) and then compare them with your countries bands (also a quick google away). I am Australian and searched on my carriers website and they had a map showing where their coverage was in terms of each band. So I was able to work out that getting the phone would be fine for me for my daily life but when I leave that and go on a day trip or something I can sometimes get 1 bars in some places. (This is regarding my last phone by the way (mate 8))

that's what I used to do.. but I'm too lazy for that now - I just use kimovil
hmm, strangely I can't find the chinese version there.. it does have the chinese mate x 20 though
basically there is no limitation of software , including all the services of Google, Only thing that can not work is Google Maps Timeline, dont know why , it just cant work on the chinese version of phone
but there is a lot of limitation of software on the global version, huawei messaging app, huawei travel assitance, huawei voice assistant, etc
,
Google feed might not be available too.
My worry would be getting a faulty "green" screen and would need to return it, unless the manufacturer honours the warranty regardless where purchased? I had to exchange mine due to faulty lg screen, but it was an over the counter exchange by 3 UK, whom I bought it from. Luckily got a boe screen and it's fine.
google works fine with my chinese m20p..only issue was no no group message from system app, calendar not linking with system app.
HW Chinese model has some notifications delay problem but it get OS update much earlier/faster than international version and call recording feature

you can install google play store from the huawei store included on the phone - at least some people said that, as well I tried to find it on a phone in the huawei (physical) store (in china) and it had play available for install within the huawei app store. I have no idea about google services, I'm sure someone in this thread must have written about it.

Question Xiaomi pad 5 pro 5g dailer APK testing. Has anyone?

I just ordered mine today from Hong Kong and eager to get it in my hands in 3-4 days so I wanted to ask some questions on what others have tried regarding dialers. I want to make and receive calls and SMS.
I see Xiaomi have their the dailer apks available to download. Has anyone tried?

Thanks for the reply. After reading i went off to research basebands and I'm confident it's a software thing, not hardware related.
There are ways to modify the baseband without root but need unlocked bootloader according to some Google searches but they are a little old and for previous versions of android.
Maybe just copy the baseband partition of the Poco F3. Same chip, nearly same specs except for the screen.
Time will tell. Ill have it tomorrow morning.
We'll just an update on the SMS.
It works flawlessly out the box. Just use the Xiaomi messages APK and works a charm. Can send and receive all the messages from the banks.
Going through the notification menu and it's got the dailer and contacts built in already but app not showing on the window. I can't toggle or change the app.
Maybe they will implement calls in am upcoming update.
