Good news for owners of Xiaomi MI8 and Pocophone F1, now it is possible through the use of app (Super Notch by Joaquin mbm), show the notifications in the status bar.
Requirements:
KLWP Live Wallpaper Maker to install on google play.
Super Notch 1.2b.apk to be installed manually.
Once you download KLWP Live Wallpaper Maker, proceed to purchase the PRO version from the in-app settings (€ 3.99), if you do not buy the PRO you will not be able to load customized presets of the Super Notch app.
Open KLWP Live Wallpaper Maker and give all permissions.
Open Super Notch.apk and select the preset that best suits you, automatically will open KLWP.
Now all you have to do is save the configuration by clicking on the floppy at the top right, taking care to GIVE ALL PERMISSIONS (if you want to change the background, click below on Background and import the one you like)

It show notification only in desktop launcher, you cannot see notification if open an app.
In the lockscreen and OAD they have always been seen.

You can see notifications on AOD? Are you on Oreo or Pie rom?
I'm on xiaomi.eu 8.9.24 (PIE) and i've only missed calls notifications on AOD (previusly, on global oreo rom i've notifications on AOD, but i've lost them once passed to Pie)

Works fine, thanks!. Icons could be a bit bigger, though.
One question: I see option for KLCK. Is it working? It asks for buying Pro key, just wanted to know if it's worth it.

It works but I do not see the need, since in the lockscreen and in the AOD the notifications work.
If it don't work in Android Pie, it mean a bug and that will be fixed by Xiaomi in the next builds.

Hello!
I installed the super notch! Its right that the signs are a little bit small but it possible to change the "standard icons" position?
It can be a little bit higher.
Best regards
peter

Already installed it and its quite good. A bit small but I'm fine with it. Just want to ask, currently I'm using mi8 and the notification at the status bar show by individual rather than group it under one icon ( for example if I received whatsapp message from 2 contact, the notification will show 2 icon of whatsapp in the status bar rather than group it under 1 icon). Any setting that I missed or there are no other way around it?

all notifications works except whatsapp, what i need to do to show whatsapp notifications ?

Works well, many thanks. I wish the icons were a little bit bigger.

GREAT! It works but I would like to have 1.2. When I activate it, my notifications are behind the clock. Is there any way to hide clock - I can't find that option...Poco F1, MIUI10

Regarding Notifications solution please go and vote here so we can make the devs to add that feature.

Only show in launcher ?

I cant get it to work, when i apply the livewallpaper nothing happens. Iam using Nova Launcher. Does this matter?

On my 10.1.2 stable (Android 9 Pie) the notifications go over the watch in the notification bar, they don't simply replace it. How to fix it? Sorry, I am a total noob who hates MIUI notification management more than anything else in the world.

How about we add an option to force colour detection for apps that already have a colour defined? Either Global or per app basis (I think per app basis would be better). That way apps like Facebook which have their statusbar colour defined as black in their styles.xml get the correct colour generated via the PrimaryColor. I haven't had a proper look into this but it seems ModLoli.java line 104-107 checks for the predefined statusbar colour.

No there's no reason to use both at the same time. They'll probably interfere with one another actually. As a FSCB user, this one has the edge I think. Better performance, no lags in apps. None of the annoying flickers, and it looks exactly like the material status bar. FSCB just pulls from the action bar and puts an overlay over it. So it doesn't look exactly like it should. This one doesn't have the different overlay options, and color options, but the tradeoff is better performance.
Can you support 4.2.2 on it

@DanGLES3[/user] is the hero you need. We were poking around in the launcher smali, and he figured out google left is tied to a prop.mod
ro.build.mea=1
This will activate google left, DT2S works as it should, and no real side effects (you may notice some stuff missing in the about phone section, but it appears cosmetic, or it may be just me)
I've made a magisk mod to simplify it. Just uninstall anything related to making left work, update to the latest OOS launcher in the playstore, flash the mod and reboot.

Huge thanks to @aer0zer0 and @DanGLES3
Instructions:
* Uninstall previously GoogleFeed modules and update Launcher in Play store.
* Install OOSLeft_V1.zip.
* Now you can updates the launcher from Play with out losing Google Feed:good:
Instructions for Android 9
1. Download the module flash it and reboot .
2. Go to Google play store and uninstall OnePlus launcher and disable auto-update.
3. Hit the home button.
Tip: If you want to keep the same layout of your homescreen from the original launcher, use OnePlus Switch application to backup OnePlus Launcher and after you have the modded launcher with Google Feed installed, do a restore for OnePlus Launcher from OnePlus Switch, worked like a charm. Avoids having to re-do the entire homescreen layout or app folders.

Honor 8X black theme, and large font size

Hey guys,
I am a visually impaired user. And I need two things to be able to use a smartphone.
A full black theme with all backgrounds being black color, such as dialer, notification panel, basically a system wide black theme.
And I need to increase the font size. I was at the store and I saw that the XL font size in settings did not result in very large text.
I want to buy this phone, but without the above, the phone is useless to me.
Can anyone help clarify the above for me please?
Thanks
Mir

Re: themes, are there any black themes that come with the device, or will I have to find the themes online?
EDIT: Another question I have regarding this device, and EMUI in general is the background color of the navigation bar at the bottom. I noticed that the color would change based on the application in focus which is extremely annoying to me as a visually impaired user. Is there a way to permanently set it to one solid color (black color with no transparency)?
Thank you.
I'm using this theme https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.emuithemesfactory.darkmodeforemui5&hl=fr
who works like a charm and it's nearly perfect except in some Huawei apps (Huawei account and theme app), I contacted the dev who answered me that it will be an update during this week :fingers-crossed:
Again there is a default themes app that has plenty of dark themes and emui is very customizable,

What you are talking about is the status bar, I was talking about the Navigation bar on the bottom, the home key/back key/recent apps bar.
I also have another question. Does changing the text size in Display settings also increase the text size of text in the notification panel where you have all the quick settings toggles like WIFI, GPS, and notifications from applications, etc?
Oh ok ^^ for the bottom navigation bar I don't think there is a built-in option but maybe a theme with that function exists
I also tried to change the display setting but it didn't increased or decreased the size of the quick settings

Another question. I just saw a review of the brand new P20 Pro which has just been released.
In Settings -> Battery, there is an option called "Darken Interface Colors" which basically sets a system wide dark theme.
Does this option exist in the Honor 8x?
Thank you.
You mean mate 20?, and no this option is not present on 8x thats not to say it won't be in emui 9.0 witch is what the mate 20 is running and P20 will be running if not already on beta emui 9.0

You should check the Accessibility options in Smart Assistance. After all, it's made for you. High Contrast Text can be pretty useful and the invert option can make everything black without resorting to themes, but everything will be inverted, including images and videos.
Font size and UI scaling is changeable and can be pretty gigantic if you max everything out.
Heres a screenshot I captured
im using p pro emui theme for the system and swift black substratum theme for apps

Thanks for the efforts on this, haven't tried it myself yet but looks good from the picture.
From the next MIUI update, they will be adding notifications next to the clock instead of showing the AM/PM status. They don't want to have 2-row clock/notifications in stock MIUI for some reason.
Still not the best of solutions though.

Emui 9.1 Notification Issue

Hi guys, after i updated to emui 9.1 I have some notification issues. To be more precise I noticed that my WhatsApp's messages previews that always showed in notifications line, now is gone. I can see the number of chats with new messages but I can't preview them anymore. I also noticed that this is an effect from app lock. If I unblock WhatsApp and leave it open in the background then I can see previews again. But when I have it blocked with app lock, I have first to unblock with password to see previews. Anyone else noticed it? Any solution for this? I want to see message previews no matter how and no matter if the app is locked or not.. it was like that on emui 9.0 and o was doing fine.
I have the same problem.

I have noticed this issue and it is so damn annoying
Did you find any solution to this?
Did you've tried to set the Autostart etc. to manual?
Settings - Akku - App Start - Whatsapp
Manuell for every 3 Things (Auto-Start, Second Start, Background)
I've done this for every App I need to get push-notifications and got no more problems with delivered notifications.
Does anybody has the Same Problem Like me . Since i Updated to 9.1 the notifications shows Eversthing in Lockscreen.
In 9.0 i get an notification on Lockscreen that was inviseblity . Mean First i have to unlock my Phone by Facescan then the notification Show it full.
Is this Feature disabled since 9.1 or does i need to activate it ?
Most people are not reading what is posted !!!
The contents of the WhatsApp messages is gone in notification after upgrading to 9.1.
Notifications work fine, but you cannot see from who are what message you expect to see when you are about to click on the notification. There is just an indication of how many messages you have received.

Don't have this issue at all. I see the message just by swipe down notification bar. Did you check notifications on WhatsApp? (setting, app, WhatsApp, notification). It look like it's just the way to see the message : in place of click notification you have just to swipe down notifications panel and see the whole message.
I think they've changed how notifications are "grouped".
If you get one WhatsApp notification, you still see the message in the pull down notification panel.
If you get more than one WhatsApp notification, it shows you "x number of messages"

Also with one message I see no content.
I enabled the Popup in WhatsApp setting , waiting for a message to see if it changes.
Hi, i'm still having problem with notifications in WIFI connection only.
Currently i'm using GCM FIX(blue color icon) in playstore and set heartbeat to 1 minute and disable powergenie to have normal push notification.
But, if i don't use that, i got delay every 4 minutes notifications.
I'm just curious and if you guys can help me to send your FCM DIAGNOSTICS screenshot by dialing *#*#426#*#* (i really want to know if only me to experienced this or not just me)
the example of mine below, it's always shows Err:28 Time:xx every 4 minutes, this is not normal.
I also had the same issue, a simple restart fixed the issue for me, hope it does for you too.
Bumping this thread because my notifications do not have content previews anymore after the update to 9.1. I have tried the tips in exception for disabling power genie, what are the repercussions to doing this?
One observation I have is if app lock is on for the apps in question then then preview will not display even if the phone is unlocked. If the app itself is unlocked then notification previews work fine. I don't believe I had this issue with EMUI 9.0.
I have the exact same issue, it's not only WhatsApp but all the apps I use AppLock for. If the app is not locked I see them fine. If the app is locked, not only that I don't see the content but I cannot swipe it to dismiss it either...
It has nothing to do with killing the app in the background, since I DO get the notification but the content is blocked.
I'm having the same issue. Since upgrading to EMUI 9.1 last night, I can no longer see notification previews (e.g. WhatsApp). It just says WhatsApp and you can't expand the notification or see the preview like before. It's the same for other apps. It did briefly work but stopped ... I've tinkered with all the settings and restarted numerous times....I still have the issue.
Anyone else seeing this issue? Can anyone share a fix?

Thank you! So Huawei have changed the way App Lock protected apps display their notification. I guess what they've done makes sense from a security point of view...if you've chosen to lock the app then why should the phone display full previews with people being able to see what's in the secured app without passing validation....but I miss previewing WhatsApp haha
