Hi my friends,
Recently, my Samsung J7 Pro phone updated to Android 8.1 and touch does not work.I have found and fixed the bug, and I want to share it with you. Follow my post.
BYPASS FRP:
The first condition is FRP must OFF , if ON you have to login your google account or you need to follow the following steps:
Download and install Samsung driver : SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.zip (15.3MB)
Download last version (supported Android 8): Odin 3.13.1
Download and flash combination rom J730G (binary 5): COMBINATION_OXA_FA70_J730GDXU5ARI1.rar (423M)
Then, open IME app on Home Screen and type *#0808# > choose (DM + ACM + ADB) > Reboot
Power off your phone > reboot to Download Mode and flash full rom (binary 5), but select only 3 files: BL - AP - HOME_CSC (J730GDXU5BRI3_J730GOLB5BRI3_XXV_8.1_FULL.zip -
After pass, your phone will reboot. Using OTG + mouse to activate to Home screen > go to Settings > Factory reset

FIX TOUCH DOES NOT WORK:
I. Turn ON "OEM Unlock" in "Developer Options"
Using OTG + Mouse, go to Setting > Developer options > OEM Unlock. If OEM Unlock is hiding or RMM State: Prenormal*(in Download Mode), you need to:
Power off and reboot to Download Mode
Download and run Miracle tool (run in .rar file): Miracle_Box-227-chuan.rar
Choose Samsung*tab > tick to Reset Reactivation/EE Locks > click*Start Button > tool will show All Done...
Your phone will be stuck on the Download Mode > press Power + Home + Volume Down > your phone will reboot to error screen:
Open Odin and flash full rom (J730GDXU5BRI3_J730GOLB5BRI3_XXV_8.1_FULL.zip: BL - AP - CP - CSC
Final, turn ON "OEM Unlock" in "Developer options"
II. Flash TWRP and fix rom
Open Odin and select TWRP at AP > Start:*twrp_3.2.1_1_sm-j730gm_16318.tar
Download and copy zip rom to SD Card:*[email protected]@xdadevelopers.zip (1,1G)
Reboot your phone to Recovery (TWRP) > Wipe data > flash zip rom > pass
MOD EDIT: PPC LINKS REMOVED

Whenever I'm in Twrp recovery the unlock button does not slide to the end, it stops halfway.
So basically, the right-half of my screen does not work in twrp
have completed the final step but the sound is cracking and noisy. I think it's a software problem.

bro flash combination file u5...just choose param.cm.nad_fw,nad_refer,recovery n cache,,,,phon will stuck on samsung logo,,,,,n then go download mood n flash twrp....its working..

I'm Brazilian but the forum only accepts conversations in English, so I ask you, is 4G on your cell phone working normal? I'm using that rom that is running the 7pro fix forums and I noticed that it is not connected in the 4G. users from other countries here in South America are complaining about this. What rom are you good at? if you can pass the link of the rom you use.

I recomend kernel helios 2.5 to ROMs 8.1
Your problem probably is imei

I think that is Imei cuz I installed the ROM FireHound and had the same problem.

First option restore twrp backup of EFS ...
If dont have backup. but have your original IMEI no, try editing IMEI (search google how to)
Second option
had the same problem with my Note 5.
First, use TWRP backup, all partitions including efs & modem.
Open the root explorer app, open the efs folder, delet the files named nv_data.bin
, nv_data.bin.md5 & the folder called imei.
Then open twrp, wipe all partitions.
Flash the latest firmware with Odin.
Signal is back and "NG" is gone. Reply for me
Analyzing your problem i see possible database
Of EFS is corrupted test and reply

Yeah, but why this Win32:malware-gen thing?
I have fix a lot them, but 2 pieces after fix display is low light, but whem i flash oreo again work normal, the light off course, no touch.
Does it work even if I got my LCD screen replaced?

I did wait for more than 20 mins and the device did not boot. I will try again from the beginning. Just to confirm, how to flash the .tar files? Same as .zip in CWM ?

Open rom with 7zip and replace updater with modified one then exit 7zip. Now copy rom to device and flash.

Yes, I did just flash this on my n7105 and it works. Work good even. Remember to wipe dalvik and cache after install but before reboot.

Great Rom!
Works: Call, SMS, data, front camera, video/sound/music, wifi + wifi AP.
Doesn't work:
back camera.
(edit: After flashing Shift CM12 kernel, camera works! But shift cm12 kernel not as smooth as the default kernel. Also baseband may have problem again.)

Mine still quite responsive after installing 10+ apps...I am using the default kernel with the rom. Not shift cm12 kernel.
Change your prefered network type to the correct one for your carrier..and call will work.

ahaha woops yeah I forgot to change network type,,, but after a couple minutes on a call the line goes all static and I cant hear anything

i follow your thread and still having the same issue. i can send an receive text messages. i can call out but i cannot receive call. the person calling me gets the ring and then to my voicemail which i receive. i replaced the script as indicated. i check the status of the cellular network state and it says Disconnected.. The model still shows as i605. i have the i317m

About this Utility:
This mod can dual boot any no. of roms whether stocks or anything and is not so complex like Multirom with kexec patch.
How to test it :
ur device shoud be rooted to use
1. Download the latest snapshot release of Dual Boot Patcher from here and install it on your Moto x.
2. Install the apk
3. Open the apk go to ROMS and you will see your primary ROM, press the menu key and click “set kernel”.
Now you need to patch your CyanogenMod ROM and Gapps files to make them compatible with dual-booting.
In the Dual Boot Patcher app select “patch zip file” and choose “Ghost (Moto x)” from the drop down menu, now find the ROM in ur file explorer and press tap to begin patchingnow go to roms again and select pink button then add button then find ur patched file
it will be of name "romname_patched.zip"
after its loaded press tick icon
after that u will see 2 roms primary and secondary in roms section
where primary rom is wrotten press those 3 dots in right side of it and press set kernel
then the last step just press seconday rom
after then just reboot and u will in ur 2nd rom
test it and tell me if its working

Any particular requirements, other than root? For example, does the first ROM need to be stock, and secondary ROM must be CM/AOSP? Or can I have CM 12.1 first, stock second?
I'm currently running CM 12.1, but I can go back to my stock nandroid if I have to.

Just a sec and I'll boot it and update this post with results.
Edit: no luck. I'm posting this on my iPad because my phone now only boots to recovery. Exactly what happened is as follows...
Select secondary ROM, reboot using normal hold power button, select reboot. Phone rebooted and displayed unlocked boot loader warning, screen went blank, unlocked bootloader warning came back, it went automatically into TWRP recovery.
Tried wiping Dalvik, caches, and rebooting. Same problem. Only boots to recovery. Now restoring my CM 12.1 nandroid.
i am using stock 5.1 as primary but when i select patch it shows failed to open archive for writing
Just tried it again. Same result.
Edit:
Be careful with this guys. After restoring my nandroid, I realized several oddities were happening. It definitely messes with partitions, and unless you are comfortable manually flashing your FXZ or using RSDlite, do NOT attempt this.

yeah i know and i am using moto x 2013 build 222.21.7
Could it be because you're on 5.X, and you're trying to boot a 4.4.x? Have you tried the other way around, or both on the same version?

Got stuck in a bootloop had to use my back up I didn't patch play store for my secondary rom 5.0.2 that might be reason!!??

Looks like you're on Lollipop (or were) when you set kitkat as your primary, while running a separate ROM. That doesn't sound wise.
Or am I just looking at it wrong and you managed st swap OS's prior to having this issue?

I have been using krypton ROM for almost a month .. I had the old cm12 5.0.2 in download folder , so I wanted to give it a try ..
It successfully patched both Roms with no issues after I selected secondary ROM and rebooted it got stuck on bootlogo
I did my 1 rom is epsilonproject-v3.1 set kernel
and than my 2º rom I modified Krypton-rom-Motox-v1.4.1-Unlocked
but when i select my 2 rom and restart, just enter in TWRP,
sorry my english

Flash Krypton back on your phone and see if you are able to download anything at all. Or even update an app.

Prerequisites -->
1) Latest TWRP recovery installed (Others may work too but I haven't tested). You can get it here-->http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-2/development/recovery-recovery-built-source-inside-t3277621
2) cm-12.1-20151014-UNOFFICIAL-wt88047 zip by kumajaya. You can get it here--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-2/development/rom-cyanogenmod-unofficial-builds-t3200883
3) SailfishOS zip file. Download link given below.
This is not an Android ROM and thus the instructions to install are quiet different. Follow them carefully.
1) Boot to recovery. Wipe cache, dalvik-cache, system and data.
2) Copy the Downloaded files to the sdcard via USB.
3) Install cm-12.1-20151014-UNOFFICIAL-wt88047. Do NOT reboot after installing.
4) Install SailfishOS zip file. The installation will take around 10 minutes so don't think that its stuck. Ignore any errors about being unable to mount data partition.
5) Reboot System when installation succeeds.

Notes-->
1) This is not an Android ROM. Android apps will not work right now. But a way for Android apps to work is being developed by some community members and will soon be available.
2) Music player is not available by default. You can get it by opening the terminal (in-built) and and running " devel-su zypper in jolla-mediaplayer ". It will ask for a password which can be set in Settings>Developer Options. It will be there from next version.
3) For advanced users, you can ssh into the device after setting a password in Developer options using ssh [email protected] over USB.
4) Do not register for a Jolla account. You will get an error about failed IMEI registration. This will be fixed as soon as Jolla allows ported devices to be registered.
5) The Store will not work. It needs a Jolla account. You can however use the openrepos warehouse for installing apps. https://openrepos.net/content/basil/warehouse-sailfishos . You can either go the link via the browser on your device and download it. Then go to Settings>Transfers and click on the file name to install it. Another method to install it is to download it to your computer and use scp to transfer to to /home/nemo/ and use " pkcon install-local <name of file> " via an ssh terminal.
6) MTP over USB does not work. (Mass Storage technically works but is unusable for all practical purposes)
7) The battery life is currently being affected by the sensors. It will probably be fixed in the next version.

* For fixing bluetooth and Flashlight, use kumajaya's cm-12.1-20160318 as the base. then install SailfishOS and finally flash the new kernel ( https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424942423 ). Bluetooth will not work after a reboot. To make it work again, use " devel-su rfkill unblock bluetooth " and reboot. Camera will break and to fix it, use vim to make the changes from ( https://github.com/adeen-s/droid-config-wt88047/commit/ecda269bd120405a5ff3ab985e558abcfe93c916 ) in /etc/dconf/db/vendor.d/jolla-camera-hw.txt
and then execute ( dconf write /apps/jolla-camera/primary/image/imageResolution "'3264x2448'" ).
The new image will contain these changes already but I need some more time before releasing it.

Q: since i've never played with an actual sailfish os, logically i'm not aware of the (dis)advantages/performance; but i did give a go to he modified launcher [you can find an old version here, and a mutant on the play store - stella launcher]; so is there any possibility to port it to our beloved redmi2? i know it would be much appreciated by the community

MultiROM supports Sailfish but right now, it is only available for MM based ROMs on Redmi 2. If it supports LP based ROMs, it will be made available.

Although, there is a way to switch between CM-12.1 and SailfishOS just like MultiROM, only a bit more tedious. You can extract boot.img from cm zip and hybris-boot.img from Sailfish zip. Flash boot.img when you want to boot to CM and flash hybris-boot.img when you want to boot to Sailfish.

You can try. However, it won't matter as CM is used only for the Android HAL. It has got nothing to do with how Sailfish works. It just acts as a bridge between Sailfish and the hardware which was meant to run Android.
If you try with a different CM-12.1, could you please post the output of " /usr/libexec/droid-hybris/system/bin/logcat " You can access the terminal via "telnet 192.168.2.15 2323" or via ssh as mentioned in the OP. If you cannot connect using these ways, you could check the output via the terminal app and tell if it has some errors mentioning AKMD2 .

Please list all the bugs that you noticed. I haven't noticed anything besides high battery drain and lack of USB MTP. Also thanks for the screenshots, Do you mind if i link them in the first post ?

Strange, they should work perfectly. Have you tried restarting the phone.
If a restart does not change anything, then post the output of "journalctl -f -l -a" . To get root access, use "devel-su" in terminal. You can set password for root in developer options. Also post the output of " ls -l /dev/ "

Since you're using a different CM version than specified, could you also post the output of " /usr/libexec/droid-hybris/system/bin/logcat"
It's out in DBT (Germany) region via OTA!
Instructions to get it if you have a different CSC:
1. Download this DBT MM firmware: http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=51E8D27819B311E7963AFA163EE8F90B
2. Flash with ODIN 3.10.7 (restart phone in download mode, put fw file in AP, leave default settings)
3. Go to settings -> about phone -> manual update (Nougat update will download and install)

I have been checking the phone all day and everything seems to be in order except there is no way to go split screen in recent apps.
On S7 nougat split screen mode is changed a bit from vanilla Nougat. There is a dedicated button for split screen on every tab when you enter recent apps.
On A3 nougat however there is no such button. Anyone figured it out yet?

We could sign a petition for it but it's too much of a hassle for the dev team to make a change just for this one thing. Then again it is something native to nougat which makes the experience half of what it should be. We also didn't get night mode and controlling flash sensitivity. I understand not having features for an ID button but these are the small things which make the experience feel halved. Honestly the update is nice and I'm hoping these features get on with a small update. And even if they don't I'll still wait till this phone dies on me.
Did anyone tried to flash this German MM (DBT region) firmware with having different CSC?
It seems that the original package with this MM is multi-csc and it is defaulting me to XEO and without root (I don't want to root this phone) I am unable to change it (the solution of breaking reflash via Odin to go into recovery to apply different CSC did not work but maybe I did something wrong although followed one guide couple of times). Anyway... anyone has some more experience in flashing this DBT with success?
I had XEH rom, then just flashed this DBT and it worked instantly (even without wipe)

Well... I have to say - it "works" fine - I mean - after flashing via Odin the phone boots up correctly without touching the data,etc. Everything works just fine. But it still defaults to XEO anyway.

If you're rooted, try installing Root Essentials, it can be found in the Playstore. In the "Interface" tab is an option to "Enable Freeform window mode - Nougat". It might work.
For Splitscreen mode, edit build.prop and edit/add the line:
ro.build.type
Value = Userdebug
The default is set to "user". Changing this to "userdebug" and rebooting will reveal a new option in "Developer Options" to "Enable MultiWindow Mode".
* Edit: There is an app, also available on Playstore, called Taskbar. This will allow you to use Freeform MultiWindow mode through Taskbar settings, if the above doesn't work. I'm using it for now, on LineageOS as there is no Freeform window support in the current LineageOS build for A310f. It works very well and actually has more configurable options for MW than Samsung's defaults.
** You can use Taskbar without root. Otherwise, root, enable "userdebug", check the switch in Dev'Options, then unroot. The option will still be available.
I found a bug... When you use third party keyboard (SwiftKey in my case) and use default sms app try to click on emoticons button. It instantly tries to switch to Samsung Keyboard for emoticons and it displays that keyboard is not working. Then you must go to Language and Input settings to reactivate what ever keyboard since the selection goes blank... Annoying...
Do i need to root my phone before doing this procedure? Or i can follow this steps without root?

Might be a silly question, but I'm inexperienced.
After wiping (to unlock the bootloader) and installing this modified stock rom, will LG's backup solution via lg bridge still work?
It seems like currently it is the best solution in order to retain app data, settings and media after going through the procedure.

Well that's just UNTRUE. This New version is very different to the Leaked Beta version.
Much of the UI has been updated. The phone is less laggy. This is a much better version. AND IT IS NOT the same version!

I am having a weird issue. Whenever I enable Wifi hotspot, people connect with me successfully but it shows 0 users connected and on other devices it says No internet connection and then my G6 get freeze and restart itself. What could be the reason? I cleaned install this rom from scratch. It was perfectly fine in Oreo.
Edit: force restart fixed the issue.

I also tend to disagree. I use the leaked "beta", without any issues at all. I compared all parameters of both, and there is no difference. They released that one.

root check is now fixed and it's based on the released kdz file instead of the up file like in the test version. but you are right there is basically no difference
