Flashlighjt doesn't work

Hi everyone, 1 week ago I've update mine lg g5 (H850) to Oreo after I've unlooked the bootloader and rooted it. With Magisk I've installed Viper, I've also flashed the mk2000 kernel. Now looking around the functions I see that aren't possibilities to use the flashlight. The shortcut doesn't work and in the camera doesn't show it. Anyone know any solution?
Sorry for my English
Magisk breaks flashlight, at least latest version of magisk available when official Oreo rolled out. I'm using supersu for the time being.
With mk2000 kernel installed properly flash works for me!
Check the kernel version in software information. If you have version info inside, then mk2000 wasn't properly flashed. Mine shows Kernel Version "Unavailable" after successful mk2000 flash.
You should first flash Magisk and then MK2000. Did you do the opposite?
Hello,
just flash mk2000 kernel again.
I solved today by updating the mk2000 kernel to v1.1.
thank you guys

Updating Sec patch = no root?

Hi
I am really novice in the technical parts of Android.
My question is, since my phone is nagging about it all the time. Will I loose root if I download and install the latest security patch thru Huaweis official otr release?
Updating oreo will write a stock oreo ramdisk.img, so root will be gone.
So to get root once oreo updated to oreo, you ll have to flash an updated patched ramdisk.img from the new build you installed.

OPPO Reno3 Pro 5G (Chinese version - PCRM00) | TWRP and Magisk (ROOT)

Hello,
I'm getting a OPPO Reno3 Pro 5G (Chinese version - PCRM00):
https://www.gsmarena.com/oppo_reno3_pro_5g-9992.php
https://www.oppo.com/cn/product/reno3pro/
I would like to install TWRP and Magisk, but I'm not able to find a TWRP build for this phone. I've crawled the Internet but didn't get much; only found stock ROM but I'm unable to extract/decrypt the .OFP file from within the ZIP:
https://vnrom.net/2020/01/rom-stock-cho-oppo-reno-3-pro-5g-pcrm00/
I did manage to get/decrypt the boot.img file from the 2020-01-22 OTA update file: https://bbs.coloros.net/firmwareDetails/1769171177539911790
boot.img: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1J0XQqn4ISrPY_tLk-3YiT6dAmbqhLrkq
Maybe it's available somwhere on a Chinese site, but unfortunately my Chinese language knowledge is 0
Anyone could help me with this?
Thanks a lot
Hi,
any news?

Does anyone have a recovery.img copy that can work for Xiaomi.EU weekly rom for Magisk 22.0?

After the Magisk changes, we need the recovery.img to patch to have it be installed. Does anyone have a copy or know how to get a copy of our boot.img?

Click to collapse
No, you simply need to patch boot.img - then flash the patched img by fastboot or TWRP (I do and use the latest official 3.5.1_9.0 davinci)
And of course, while patching do not tick Recovery mode option, and flash to the Boot partition (since you are patching boot, not recovery img)
I'm on Xiaomi.eu A11 beta since December, updated through each and every Xiaomi.eu weekly and each Magisk Canary since then.
Every time patching boot.img (you will find in Xiaomi.eu zip) and got the Magisk root with no problem whatsoever.
Currently on the latest Xiaomi.eu 21.4.1 (last Thursday) and Magisk Canary 22007 (released yesterday), as always patched the boot.img and Magisk works with no problem
Btw, read (and follow) the existing thread about Xiaomi.eu weeklies also here for Mi 9T, Guides:

There are also at least two guides here on our Mi 9T forum about installing Magisk by patching boot.img
They were from the times of MIUI 11 or 12 and Magisk v20 or v21, probably not updated/commented about MIUI 12.5 and Magisk v22, but generally the same coockbook still applies (patching the boot.img and flashing)

Question boot image for installing magisk?

I'm thinking about getting a Nord N200 and I would want to install Magisk on it. I'm not interested in installing TWRP, I just want Magisk. I know that to install Magisk you need an image of the boot ROM. Where can I get that from? Thanks!
