Is is possible to root Padfone S ASUS_T00N within Android or via computer only? - Asus Padfone X and S

My Padfone S screen is broken, fully black and out of function. I can't follow the some of the root guide to install TWRP and load the SuperSU zip to it because the screen is broken. I can just use my Padfone with the padfone station, so is there any way to root it? Thanks.

I did my Padfone X about an hour ago! I realize its not the same, but I'll give you a run-down of what I did and maybe it will help!
So I rooted it the dirty way first with KingoRoot, because I just really wanted to debloat. Downloaded the app, nothing complicated about it, I just don't like it and personally I don't trust this root provider for a daily driver. Prefer SuperUser or SuperSU.
Next, I spent a long while poring over threads full of dead links trying to find a CWM or TWRP recovery, and finally stumbled across one, which also contained the flashable bootloader unlocker. So I put the phone in fastboot mode (power the phone off, hold power + vol up) and ran "fastboot boot recovery.img", which is what I renamed the TWRP recovery file to. To my surprise, it booted and mounted the internal storage! So I copied the bootloader unlocker zip, flashed it, rebooted. Entered fastboot again, "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and boom! TWRP installed and working.
My next step will be to replace KingoRoot with SuperSU. I tried it via the normal flashable zip, but it failed somehow. The flash completed but when I rebooted, the SU binaries were missing or something. I lost root access. Good thing that the backup and restore works in TWRP
I'll post a full "how I did it" guide when I'm done. Until then, hopefully something I learned will help you!

yes, it can be root
Hi, I use TWRP 3.0.0 from quarkx
http://quarx2k.ru/asus_padfone_s/
and install magisk

it's really work for MM rom

[Q] No SU binary installed.

Really didn't want to make a new thread about this but honestly people just jumped to conclusions without being helpful in my previous thread.
Long story short I'm trying to manually get 4.4.2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2664561
I saw that I needed to get s-off, which requires root. Bootloader was already unlocked and so did everything here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273376
I installed CWM. It said to install a superuser tool so I installed SuperSU.
"You're not out of the woods yet! The stock kernel is system write protected, so you still can't modify it (changes won't "stick"). You'll have to flash a custom rom or a kernel if you want stock instead." was the next line. <-- I saw that message. Installed a kernel that he recommended: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255900
After reboot I get SuperSU error: There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. If you just upgraded to Android 4.3, you need to manually re-root- consult the relevant forums for your device etc.
Can anyone help me get the proper SU Binary installed? Not a beginner to rooting as I've had had several previous phones before. Never encountered something as annoying as this.
On 4.3, 3.17.502.3.
I had the same issue when I installed 4.4.2 on my international One.
What I done to root was;
- downloaded SuperSU v1.80 zip from here.
- download SuperSu from the Play Store
- in SuperSU, select the option to install binaries via TWRP/CWM. (If it doesn't reboot to recovery, manually enter recovery)
- flash the supersu v1.80 zip and reboot
- open SuperSu and install the binaries using the normal option.
That then enabled my root. I'd tried quite a few different variations and this was the only method that worked for me.

Thank you! Although I just managed to installed a custom ROM and managed to get root.
I followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2664561
I flashed the Recovery_Cingular_US in fastboot. Unfortunately I'm unable to boot into stock recovery. I've been told right after you enter recovery from bootloader you press all three buttons simultaneously?
Is there a way to get into stock recovery from fastboot? Or better yet install the ROM from fastboot?

You seem very confused about the whole rooting process ... what was the point in flashing the stock recovery ? Are you trying to install the OTAPkg.zip ?
what Rom are you wanting to install and whats flashing stock recovery have to do with it ?
Well, if you looked at the thread I linked, you'll see that it says to flash a stock recovery file in order to install the OTAPkg.zip

I wrote the thread you linked too
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2659374
and yes it is necessary to have stock recovery to take an OTA, but your post didn't mention taking OTA it said you had no SU installed.
to get into stock recovery
boot to bootloader
choose recovery
wait for black screen, hold vol up and then power
you will see something about sdcard fail .. ignore it till the menu comes up
then choose to flash OTAPkg.zip from sdcard

Help me root Cubot Rainbow

Hi everyone
I have been trying to root my cubot rainbow with no success, I have trier every way possible on which I will list.
King root - apk and PC version
Kingo root - apk and PC version
Iroot - apk and PC version
Towel root - didn't Evan let me open this app
Root genius - apk and PC version
Then I tried custom recovery, I got the tools of needrom and I got to it I did everything right I -
Unlocked my boot loader (I think) as once I accepted to unlock it there was no way to check if it actually was unlocked because everytime I did "fastboot OEM device-info" it returned something like "Failed(no controller)" < something like this anyway so with me not really knowing if IRA unlocked or not I went onto the next step.
With the scatter file and recovery.IMG to hand I opened up sp flash tools and then tried to flash the recovery. It then told me everything went okay and it was done. But when I boot to recovery it's still at stock.
I then tryed flashing with fastboot and same thing happens it tells me its all okay but its actually still stock
This leads to is my bootloader acc unlocked then? (I did try multiple times and uninstalled and reinstalled drivers)
So anyway is there any way to root my phone?
Instruction here http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=741031&st=1000#entry54800941
but on russian
Thank you for your reply I have had a look and from what I can understand it looks positive, but.... I can't find the instructions or translate them properly for the actually rooting
Here google translate of first post, bold below it is what you need:
1. Fully comply with the instructions for the firmware of custom recovery
2. Download and put in the root of the SD card archive SuperSU
3. Turn off the smartphone, hold down the + volume and power buttons simultaneously, select "Recovery Mode"
4. Select "Installation" and select the previously downloaded archive.
5. Reboot the phone.
After enabling, Root-rights and SuperSU will appear.

while waiting for someone to come out with help. I've found a website which have "unofficial" twrp.
https://unofficialtwrp.com/doogee-bl12000-pro/
I want a comfirmation if this site is trustworthy.
I've tried flash the twrp into my phone but it keep booting at recovery and can't boot into system.
I'm flashing using CMD like this:
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot boot recovery.img
Click to collapse
and what the function of "fastboot flashing unlock"?
I'm thinking of using magisk to root my phone but I don't know what "stock boot image dump".

seems that https://unofficialtwrp.com/doogee-bl12000-pro/ really work, but for my case, it's required me to decrypt password, while im not had any password.
after many times of rooting effort, it success. for those who have problem that occur to me:- BOOTLOOP at RECOVERY and RECOVERY can't read SDCARD or STORAGE
1. Root your phone using the twrp above
2. if bootloop to recovery, make sure you have sdcard and have supersu flash file inside it.
3. in twrp, go to wipe. and then format factory
4. go to mount and choose media sdcard
5. at the homescreen, go to install and then flash the supersu flash file.
6. done

how to root doogee bl12000

Would anyone help me get root on doogee bl 12000? This is a version without a pro so this is a different topic than this one.
No kingoroot or framaroot programs work.
I have flashtoola and rom for this phone. I tried using adb to upload files with the 12000 pro doodge but there was always some error.
I also tried to upload files via flashtoola and recovery. However, without success.
Root Doogee BL12000
Hallo there. I'm trying to root my Bl12000. I've got a TWRP from twrp builder. It works, but whatever zip file I'm trying to install I always get "failed to mount data", invalid argument. The twrp also tells me, that there's bo OS installed, but there is. Phone is working fine after reboot. SuperSu can't be installed. Full wipe is not possible, also "failed to mount" and so on.
any help ?
Tia, Chris
I think it's the encryption. Any ideas how to remove it?
Installed twrp via fastboot and sp flash tool, but I can't boot phone into it. Searched dozens of sites, no success. Flashed the twrp again with sp flash tool and according to sp it was successful. I tried several ways to boot the phone into it afterwards, no luck
My goal is to root this phone only. I'm not very experienced so if anyone could please give me a hand here and tell me where or what I'm doing wrong, that'd would be great and much appreciated. Thanks.
Ok. If I flash the twrp with Sp flash tool and type "fastboot reboot" on the adb console, sending the command while I hold vol+ and power-, the phone boots into the twrp. Next time it will be gone, so I have to flash it again. Noticed that, done.
But all this is taking me nowhere, because the encryption still prevents me from installing any zip file or format a partition. Yuck ?
Root Bl12000
Since the SuperSu method took me nowhere I decided to try Magisk. And.......HURRAY !!!!!!.......it worked.....for a moment. Booted the patched boot.img and got superuser. But with the first reboot I got stuck in bootloop. Tried again, in case I missed something, but same ****.
IT WORKS !!!!! My mistake was to assume, that Magisk works the same way as rooting with SuperSu does. So after rooting with Magisk I tried to install root apps as I was used to, but Magisk does not work that way.
Well, it'll take me awhile to figure this out ?
Why does an app keep coming back on my phone after I have done factory reset?

This Recovery is only supported for Doogee BL12000
You should have either PC or Laptop.
Make sure to charge your phone for at least 50%.
Download and install latest Doogee USB Drivers on your PC/Laptop [All Android USB Drivers]
Download the SP Flash Tool Software
VCOM driver: Download – Instal the VCOM Driver on your computer (still compatible with MT67xx phones)
Before flashing a custom recovery, you need to unlock the bootloader on Doogee BL12000
Take a full backup just in case if you need it later

[Solved]Soft bricked my device

Hey guys,
I already soft bricked my device (I think) -.- I rooted it with the patched boot image and accidently installed a magisk module which caused a boot loop.
I booted into TWRP and didn't read that for now we can't mount the important partitions, so there went that. I rebooted to stock recovery and erased my complete device (factory reset + userdata) and now it bootloops into the bootloader.
Can't boot stock recovery or ROM.
Is there any chance to recover it with the current tools we have or do I have to wait for a fully working TWRP?
Any tip is appreciated
Is this topic something you can work with?

Thanks for the hint, but no chance. After flashing the recovery and reboot, the 7t pro always reboots to bootloader :-\
Edit: Could switch the boot slot and was able to enter recovery. Tried the modified one with adb function, but sideloading a rom is not possible adb: sideload connection failed: closed
I think I have to wait for TWRP

Try this:
- Reboot to bootloader (If not possible, hold "Volume Down" & "Powerbutton" to boot into recovery, from there select "Boot Fastboot")
- Open CMD and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (I attached the 7tPro AA Boot.img)
##EDIT##: Well, unfortunately I'm not allowed to post extern links, so you have 2. options. Somewhere here in the Opt7tPro threads, some guy posted a link where he uploaded the stock boot image. Should be found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/help/rooting-oneplus-7t-pro-t3983533/page2 (scroll down ). Option 2, you downlaod the 7T OTA from OP website and extract the payload.bin with the programm "payload_dumper-win64". This will extract a more or less working boot image..
Your phone should then be able to boot normally again.
If it does, you will probably find out, that your WiFi, Speakers & Camera won't work.
Don't worry, this is because you maybe need the BA boot.img.
Then there are to options.
1. You wait until OP releases the original files on their website, as they did with the 7t
2. You go to "Settings", "System" & "Factory Reset", to reset your phone. (By now, this is the only way to fix the problem, so you can use the patched boot again)
If you choose option 2, after the "installation" screen, where it asks to enter your language, you must boot your phone into fastboot again.
Then you can flash the patched boot image again and your phone should work as normal
I was on same situation, i planned to root, but not found really 7T PRO rom, 7T ot 7 PRO has totally different ROMs, so i made a big mistake, to flash different rom. Phone stuck in boot loop. After 1.5 day google searching, i found one, that can bring back phone to live. I found a fresh 7T PRO rom, and simply flashed back, it booted, and finally everything's works good. Must to download fresh factory rom: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261606254, unzip it to any folder, start your phone in fastboot mode, plug in usb cable, (other eng plug to PC) and then simply do double click at the unzipped folder to flash all.bat file. You will get some errors, it's totally normal. Within 4-5 minutes your phone will works again. Hope it will work at you.
You, my fellow xda guys, are amazing!!! The solution with the stock boot.img helped me out!
Now I can start using my 7t pro after 3 days ^^
