Daydream not working on S9 (Exynos) Official LineageOS - Google Daydream VR

Model: SM-G960F
Everything installs correctly, so It recognizes it as a daydream ready phone (Which it says it is). However, when I launch the daydream app, it sometimes loads to black screen or to a stuttering screen (one frame every 5 seconds). I had LOS on my Axon 7 and it was just fine.

[CM] Google Play Movies & TV Only Downloads in SD

I recently installed CyanogenMod 11 on two of my devices, a Nexus 10 (running CM11 M5) and a Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 (running the latest build by crpalmer). Since I did that, I've noticed something weird that never showed up on either of those two devices before. When I download movies or TV shows from Google Play Movies & TV, they always download in standard definition. The setting is set to download in HD, but in practice this is ignored.
This isn't happening on my Nexus 7 that runs stock. Can anybody give a reason for this and a possible solution?

Can No Longer Cast Screen On My 2015 Chromecast

I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere but I recently upgraded my my Chromecast generation 1 to Generation 2 and my ability to cast my cell phone screen to my chromecast from my galaxy s6 has stopped.. it just says connecting and times out.. All apps with native chromecast support work as they should.. Only when I use the cast screen feature from within the chromecast app does this problem occur... Does anyone possibly have any idea on what could be causing this to happen?
Thank you in advance!
I'll have to test this for myself but casting the screen to my Chromecast 2 from my N7 2013 just stopped working all of a sudden the other day. It'll connect and then freeze up within a couple of seconds.
Will try to cast a specific program like YouTube tomorrow and see what it behaves like.
Same problem for me, in the beginning it worked fine, but after the automatic update it started to do problems with the mirror cast and the Google photos.
In the others app it is working good
I so that this is a common problem with the chromecast 2, in alot of phone models

I have almost the same problem, just purchased my chromecast. Everything works except the ability to cast my screen from withing Tablet using CyanogenMod using the Cast Screen option.
When I try it it goes through the process show the device found shows connected then instantly show disconnected. Works on my One Plus One running CM based ROM just fine. So it could be ROM version....
Since its a tablet have to use android Chrome so can't use extensions on it because the extension for Chrome Cast work on my laptop to do a cast screen.
Same problem here using slimkat rom
Updated the tablet to CM12.1 not same ROM but same version as my phone ROM made no difference. Also tried 2.4 and 5 GHz still no go from tablet. Interestingly annoying....

i haves same problem in a lg g stylo i update android 6.0 now wrok fine
Just happened on an HTC M8 too. Everything was OK until now. I have it from December and was working on Android 5 and even on Android 6 until yesterday. Tried to reset it hard from button and soft, reconfigure it and happens the same issue: phone find it and when try to connect screen goes black on TV like trying to receive an image, then disconnects back to backdrop. On the phone sometimes the wifi disconnects from the router and reconnects back when Chromecast is trying to transmit the image on TV. I checked the compatibility phones on page and indeed M8 is not there, but it worked, so is not that.
There is any possibility to take an log on the Chromecast to see what is happening?
Sent from my HTC One_M8
Edit: Seems that the issue was the installation of the Viper4Android flashable zip. After replacing system image from twrp backup, everything is back to normal. It connects in no time.
What version of android do your phone use?
I use Galaxy Note 3 android 5.0 with Chromecast app to cast screen to TV attached with Chromecast 2015 device.
There is no default option for casting screen on android 5.0.
So I use Chromecast app to cast screen.
Everything is normal. I can cast phone screen to TV while I'm playing Asphalt 8.
I have switched phones to the Nexus 6P and for the first few months I was able to cast to screen again but now I lost that ability after experimenting with different roms.. yet I can still go to my friends house and cast my screen without any issues on his 1st gen chromecast.. what a strange issue
I switched back to the 1st chromecast, the new one would start overheating lol

Ascend Mate 2 - Andriod 5.1 - can't stream/mirror to television

Hey everyone...so I have a very difficult question and was hoping that someone here can help. I tried another forum but - not a peep.....and I am hoping since you guys here are developers you might be able to put on your propeller hat and figure this out!!!
I have the Ascend Mate 2 (which I really enjoy ) and decided to upgrade from I think it was 4.3 to Andriod 5.1 via the Huawei website. All went perfectly normal, and still is normal - except for one thing.
It won't stream or mirror to my television.
So here is a little background. It is the unlocked Ascend Mate 2, Andriod 5.1 EMUI 3.1, build MT2-L03c00B322. 2.0 GB RAM.
When it was 4.3, I streamed perfectly to the television using RK Anycast, ROKU and FireStick TV. Just set it up like normal, clicked on the display, it connected to the device I wanted to use and - off into movie-land I went (I have unlimited streaming data).
So I wanted to upgrade my phone so I could use various other apps that needed a higher version.
Did the normal upgrade via Huawei website and took just a couple minutes, no issues and all loaded all running like usual. So now here it is a few days later, and I am finally nearly done installing all my normal apps and backed-up/restored texts and calls etc. So I thought, let me stream a movie (I use the term streaming and mirroring to mean the same thing) from my phone to my TV so I can relax.
I do the normal, pull down from the top, and bring up the "multi-screen" option. And I see the RK Anycast device listed, I hit connect, it does connect, I see my cellphone mirrored on the TV like normal, I go to any app - Netflix, YouTube, Prime etc., that loads like normal....but when I hit play....it plays for about three seconds, then just totally hangs. Stops playing, the picture just stays on the TV screen without moving at all. So i have to close the program.
So I test this out with my Firestick and my Roku, does the same exact thing for them. Looks normal, connects like normal, I go to hit play it runs for about two seconds then just totally stalls and hangs.
I have no idea what the problem is...but seems almost like....maybe there is a certain setting for Andriod 5.1 that needs to be changed that I am not aware of?
Like I said I am just puzzled since I know it worked perfectly when I had Andriod 4.3 on it.
And get this - a saved video I physically on my cellphone - well that streams to the TV without hanging or lagging, it runs like normal.
Thanks for any ideas and hints....!!!

Mi Box is hot (temperature) and get some "lags" - MDZ-16-AB

Hello,
I'm posting here on this forum because I have two problems with my Xiaomi Mi Box (MDZ-16-AB) received less than a week ago.
The Box has a relatively high touch temperature (about 38-40 ° C) after 10-15 min (when watching a movie / netflix / youtube). I also put a simple thermometer on it and in less than 10 minutes, it was already 35 ° C and it seemed to increase (it's hot but does not burn either).
Also (I do not know if this is related) in a movie h264 / 265, netflix or youtube, I have micro lags, as if the framerate suddenly dropped 5-10 fps, the time of a half at 1 second. It is quite variable, sometimes 3-4 on 1h or sometimes 10-15. It even happened 1 or 2 times where I had no worries.
When I received the box, she was under android 6 and upgraded 3 days later under android 8.
There are only 4 applications on the box: Youtube, Netflix, Kodi and Aida 64. Everything is up to date.
The wifi is 5ghz (modem less than 10m) for Youtube / Netflix and tested with external HDD or USB key.
I have every 10min an error message with the wifi saying that it has disconnected (since android 8) but it does not disturb the reading on Netflix / Youtube.
Thanks
Find and flash Oreo build 2175. It was created to correct wifi related issues. If your box is not running the most current public build, 2174, you should invoke an OTA update from settings menu. Then flash 2175 using reccovery.

Chromecast not working on Mate 10

It used to work fine. Now it doesn't. On the Google Home app when I try to cast audio and screen, it says no compatible devices found. Yet when I use the YouTube app, the casting symbol appears always and I can cast to my chromecast no problem. The casting symbol also does not appear in other apps like BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My5 apps etc. Tried with other devices in the devices in the household and all cast fine. Even rebooted the chromecast. Nada. It has to be a related to a recent firmware update from Huawei. It's the only reason I can think of. It killed something. I am on 141 C636 patch 1. Anyone else have issues?
Same issue here with my Mate 10 Pro, I have 2 chromecasts (first and second generation) in my house and 90% of the times I turn them on I cannot cast from applications like Netflix, Plex or Google Play Music because they don't "see" the devices. Only YouTube app works.
I tried almost everything: fixed ip on the smartphone, connecting it only on 2.4 Ghz and then 5Ghz, restarting router,...
All other devices in the house work fine, I have a Nexus 7 tablet, a Motorola 5GS Plus, an LG k7, a couple of computers.
Weird thing is that when I use another device to start casting, after some minute I receive the cast notification on the the Mate 10 Pro and it starts to correctly see the chromecast.
I'm gonna try Huawei support.
