Any AOSP-based custom ROMs for the Mi Pad 4 yet? - Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Questions & Answers

I went on the Mi Pad 4 XDA page expecting to see a few AOSP ROMs already available (LOS, RR, AICP, etc.), but to my disappointment there is currently none.
I guess this tablet in still in its infant age.
Hopefully more people will buy the Mi Pad 4 soon so that more people can port some nice AOSP ROMs for the Mi Pad 4! Not that MIUI is bad, but I definitely like AOSP more
I'm a flashaholic anyways so maybe the problem is just me lol

There are already plenty of treble GSI images

I flashed treble img of pixel experience, but with account authentication, it is played from google. Is there a workaround?

Your opinions on Redmi Note 4X

The battery on my Redmi Note 2 is going funny so might use the opportunity to upgrade. Asking some questions might help me and others decide if Note 4X is worth upgrading.
What is SOT like? does the Note 4X suffer from same battery drain as Note 2?
Any battery failures to date?
Build quality good?
Xiaomi.eu rom a good choice? (I quite like MIUI)
Will there be an official Lineage OS ROM? and good selection of roms?
Any major or minor issues I should know about?
Is a Redmi Note 5 expected any time soon?

SOT is like 10hrs+ on Miui and I'm using Custom roms, getting almost same battery. On LTE only, I used to browse + Telegram.
None
Yep, indeed, and has 2.5d glass as well.
Yes. I hate Miui too and I'm using Custom at the moment. Xiaomi eu is also good choice.
Yes, we'll get official Los and currently there are tons of Roms available. RR /AEX / PA / OMNI etc etc..
Apparently i heard about dead pixels on some devices, solution is to visit a nearby SC and get yo screen replaced.
That's gonna 2018. Not now, I guess.

Auto switch-on

In MIUI ROMs you can schedule a switch-off and a switch-on time (e.g. the phone can power off at 01.00 AM and then power on at 7.00 AM).
In custom ROMs (at least in the two I've tried, LOS and RR) this option isn't there, and I cannot find an app that can switch-on the phone from the power-off state (for switch-off there are many apps).
Do you know if there is an app that is capable of switching-on the phone when powered-off?
'Security' app, (which is built in to Miui).
Settings.
Battery Usage.
Schedule power on/off.

He's asking if there's an app to do that on other ROMs , I think not. Why not enjoying some MIUI? I come from years of stock Android (n1, Nexus s, Nexus 5, Nexus 5x) and... Well it's different but it's not that bad!

I tried for a couple of weeks (the 8.2 stable), I love some features of MIUI but I feel more comfortable with a ROM similar to stock Android.
But I definitely would suggest MIUI to any non-tech-savvy user out there.
Maybe if the new Xiaomi A1 that uses stock Android include this on/off feature (like other Xiaomi phones), that could be ported to Xiaomi phones' custom ROMs...

I don't remember what custom rom I saw with the on/off. I was using my LG G3 so it was 4.x or 6.x rom. So it can be added to custom rom just need to find a Dev willing to add the code and make it work properly.

No coustom rom support yet? But why???

Can any developer Port the OOS for poco f1 i willbe very thankful coz oos ia just awesome but normally we cant see any oos ports to any other than oneplus but why? Is the poco is hopeless in case of development??
people on xda are so demanding and the lack of patience ..damn.
go learn to do it on your own if you want it so bad.
also, if you had searched you would have found at least 2 threads about this already.

Dude it takes time. Atleast another two months for something to show up. Wait patiently. There will lots of custom roms but it takes time. Devs work on the device when they are free but this is not their number one priority and there will be lots of reasons. It's not even a month since the device is launched. Roms doesn't just show up overnight cause God is not making them.
Also can wait for stable gsi because developers are working to make those gsi stable for all phones which means you don't have wait for custom roms from developers particularly for poco f1

Mi Pad 4 development potential?

Hi All
Just wondering how popular the Mi Pad 4 is and will there be many ROMs in the foreseeable future?
I'm coming from Zenfone 2, Redmi Note 3 and now G5S Plus which have many ROMs to choose from.
If I am honest it looks a bit sparse but I'm OK with that if the few that are here get all the bugs worked out. Id be happy with a fully working Lineage.
I'm surprised there is not more considering the price to performance seems to be decent and the 3gb/32gb is now about $160 on gearbest.

You've got fully working MoKee ROM, it's fast and fluid too! Maybe not as well known as Lineage but hey, it's still performant AOSP and allows you to do delta updates

Has Mokee or LineageOS the widevine L1 flag?
Install this app and start it and look for the Widevine flag. For HD-content to be streamable for Netflix or Prime, it must be L1. Mostly it is only L3.. :/

Great, I actually donated for Mokee on my Redmi Note 3 it was a great ROM on that device.

Request: Poco X2/K30 MIUI port for Pocophone F1

Even though Pocophone F1 has official Android 10, its rather an old MIUI 11, which is slow and buggy compared to latest MIUI builds.
Looking at Poco X2/K30 videos on YouTube, the newer MIUI looks much smoother and optimized, when compared to F1, apps opened quicker even though processor of X2 is weaker (730g or 765g vs 845)
Given F1's age (and current situation due to pandemic that slow down businesses), it may be unlikely we get any updates from Xiaomi other than security patch. So it would be great to have the MIUI ports from X2/K30 into F1.
There are many AOSP/stock like ROMs out there which are excellent, but they don't provide certain useful features MIUI provide.
lmao, port rom will be more buggy.
Enjoy ur phone or buy google pixel
Why pixel? You could just use gsi roms and have a phone with headphone jack. But again the useful features of miui will be missing. Miui 12 will probably not come for f1
Why don't you just flash and Use MIUI based Roms like revolutionOS or Mi Room?

Mi room ROMs are out of date and are glitch as is revolution ROMs.......
This is actually a great idea cause Poco's miui is the most unstable one right now
Even the android Q custom roms are buggy
Q is horribly buggy... my experience with POCO MIUI Q is bad SOTs, Poco Launcher lag, Heating up!
Looks like every corporate is the same
The official Miui 11 for pocophone F1 is bad indeed. Anything after 10.3.8.0 has been buggy and unusable for daily use, and get poor battery life.
It look like Xiaomi didn't release any miui beta roms for poco f1. Other phones of 2018 using sd845 (such as mi9) got 20.x.x beta ROMs which seem to include upcoming features from miui 12.
This most likely means we don't get any feature updates, only security patch. However, poco x2 from this year will get miui 12 so it would be great idea to get port from it.

Have you tried crDroid Q? I switched to crDroid (6.4) about a month ago and so far its been very solid and bug-free barring one random reboot. I haven't tried any other Q ROM.

It still has bluetooth problems in PC fan or rgb controlling apps and many more
And the /system is read only
And these are on every custom rom and android Q
I guess it's google's fault
If they aren't gonna fix this it means that Pie is the most stable and full android out there
I'm a total noob at porting, once tried porting Mi8's rom to Poco F1. Sound wasn't working and I gave up. And Mi8 is the closest thing to F1 honestly. Try the ported Q Roms in Telegram, way better than stock miui in Poco. I'll try investigating about porting X2 to F1 though, if anyone wants to help, I'm welcome. I still don't understand vendor/firmware and stuff like that.
