just got my mate 20 pro retail edition. ( the phone is not robbed or smth.. im a shop owner here in germany )
I've managed to remove the demo video by removing the package via adb shell.
I just installed my apps and configured everything.
theres a strange issue now. I'm not able to activate mobile data. It's greyed out. I already searched on the Internet. Someone got the same issue and fixed it by uninstalling the app skytone. I've tried that but i failed.
the strange thing is that calling , sending sms etc. is working like a charm. even with 2 simcards.
anyone got an idea?

sure dude.. ive checked almost every possible setting... there must be smth more complicated...
i thought theres no gsm module on the device... but i can call and send sms... the device also have an imei number so it should work normally

Perhaps reset network settings or perhaps a full factory reset with your sim in....

Sorry, did not mean to hijack the thread, but was curious: so you have received the new phones already in your store, but you are not allowed to sell them (or ship them) before a certain date? Do you know if this is for marketing reasons or something else?

well normally its for marketing reasons.. huawei is not allow
ing us to sell the phones before the official start. normally we get the phones 3 4 days after the presentations . if you sell or show anyone the phone before the official start, you'll get banned from the company.
that means you wont get any devices in the future.

Im the provider ? there's no issue with the simcard or with the internet or any apn settings everything is fine... There need to be smth blocking the connection or the option to turn on mobile data

Unfortunately I'm at a loss then for suggestions!
For what it's worth in hopefully getting my device this Friday and would be happy to try help out then, comparing settings etc
This sounds strange. I wonder if Huawei has a way of disabling the mobile data remotely (ie. presumably before the device has been released). Sounds a bit far-fetched, I admit that a mis-configuration problem sounds much more plausible.

Just tried the same thing with the mate 20 lite and the mate 20.... Same issue.. Mobile data greyed out. There's a package or an application blocking the internet connection... Dunno what it could be

my p20 pro was also a retail unit.. i've did the same removed the demo video over adb shell and removed some demo apps there we go.. i could use it.. mobile data working perfectly.
im able to call with the huawei mate 20 pro. so using mobile data should also be possible

Try to reinstall the rom. You could be having a crippled version of the official rom.

I’ve just rebrand my x10 to 2.1 with the one click method, very easy!
But i like to know if it’s possible to re-debrand to my Dutch provider if the update is out over there.
Now i checked if universal androot still works and it doesn’t. Is there another app to root your phone in an easy way?
Also I can’t find the file default.prop to change the code back. There is now like you probably know just a file in the folder build.prop, is this the same?

would suggest u to check the same with ur service provider, they might have changed some port r something, which in turn needs ur APN to be reconfigured

i checked with them and they don't understand a thing of this, belive me, they didn't even know the cellphone .. it is possible that equal phones one has the problem and the other not ? my boyfriend has one and he doesn't have this problem .

there was a problem communicating with google servers. This happens in any google app or when I try to add google account
I got this with unlocked bootloader on stock ( flashed via bootlaoder) 8.5 stable or 9.0.3.0 stable.
Tried different Wifi points and mobile data. Still doesn't connect.
What is strange the same thing happens on any custom ROM (7.1.2 or 8.0)
I also tried to modify host files. Same result

Do you still have the FM radio in your apps? Is there a chance for me to get it back? I really miss it!

Wow, that's really exciting! Why does it work in Russia but not in the EU?
I always thought, EU and Russian Model are the same hardware.
I tried to set region to Russia and reinstall the update A.06 -> still no radio app

Most FM Radio apps need phone to bee rooted and without b/l unlocking they want work.

Radio seems to work in other countries, so I will try to change the region (and SIM cards) before installing the next updates.

they don't wanna unlock BL and then they can't provide links to download theire fm radion apps. just say go to play store and find a way
there is a lack and there is differences between rm and mi
mi try to give theie custome a bench of apps and solution so they keep away from others roms but rm pushing us forward to get custom roms

Hey guys i was wondering if i could get some assistance. I have the G850UM10i AT&T model. And i successfully unlocked the bootloader without any issues. But i am having trouble getting root and i can not find even any firmware on this model. At the least i am looking to upgrade it to Android 10. If anyone could direct me or help me obtain root i would KINDLY appreciate it. I am not a total n00b and have rooted other phones and understand basics. Thank you!

i don't own the phone and i'm not in USA too, i used magisk to root the rom, i tryed kingo root but it didn't work so i jusk asked on a community
