Magazine Unlock Issue - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

hi all,
anyone has issues with magazine unlock? on my Mate 10, i choose only my own photos as the Magazine Unlock and it worked fine.
on the M20P, it seems that it doesn't even show the pictures and instead, choose the default theme wallpaper. i could choose my own wallpaper but it's not rotating between the images i've added under 'Added by me'.

Have you tried deleting the photos from the magazine folder in the gallery

i just tried. still having the issues. let me try rebooting the phone.

In the Lock screen. There is a lock icon in the bottom left.
Press it and it will lock and always show the wallpaper in magazine unlock.
1) in magazine lock screen, scroll left right to a random wall paper.
2) press the lock icon to lock the wallpaper.
3) press the power button to lock the phone.
4) press again the lock icon to release the wallpaper
5) press power button and you'll see your problem is solved.

Hi,
I have the same problem. My lockscreen is set as "unlock magazine" but I've no picture of "the magazine". I only have the default wallpaper linked to the main theme.
The lock is unlocked and I can't do anything to change that, even if I disable unlock Magazine / reactivate, or reboot the phone.
Btw I don't know if it's linked or not but my theme app is also empty, I can't load any new theme apart the preinstalled ones. And unfortunately there is no way of restaure these applications (just empty cache for theme and disable / reactivate ).
Sorry for my english btw.

Because of the gluegate, they gave me a new phone. Fortunately Magazine Unlock does work.
I also found why theme app didn't work. Morocco wasn't recognized at first as a listed country for Huawei Services. I wasn't able to login Huawei cloud or any Huawei service included Themes. But the 122 previous update fixed it.

e_mc-square Given me the idea of locking the wallpaper and to solve most of your concern on those downloaded Magazine picture.
To solve this issue just on the lock screen, each picture file that you don't want / flip to the picture &
On the bottom as you will see the lock, delete, love, share & setting (buttoms)
Just press the trash can which is delete the picture. this solve the issue of showing unwanted downloaded magazine file.
I am happy with it now...!!!

After a lot of fiddling about trying to turn off all groups of pictures except mine, I stumbled into this method and it worked fine. Only took me a few mins to individually delete all the photos that I didn't want.

So for this problem follow these steps, I worked on it for 2 whole hours and finally worked it out (huwei p30 pro) i think it works for all android phones tho
Steps
1. Go to album - > more albums (others) and click on the magazine unlock album.
2. Delete all photos you dont want to have and put the ones u want to have on you screen in the album
3. Block that file (right above button next to the +)
4. Restart your phone
5, deblock that same album file and go to your unlock screen, than delete all the remaining photos (while you are on your lockscreen) of those old unwanted ones
6. And you are done!
Notice!!!! Be sure to diasble all the kind of grams you are following in setting - > begin screen and unlock screen - > magazine unlock screen. All those you'll have to disable. And one more thing, while your disabling these 'grams you' ll see 'my gallery pictures. Be sure to add the same photos you want to have on your unlockscreen so you have it twice! Once there and once in your original album of the 6 steps you did ( total twice!)

Does anyone else want a lockscreen for their Archos?

Hey all. I always wondered why Archos didn't make a lockscreen (like most android phones have). I always liked to have some widgets and info on my old iPhone lockscreen so I could see basic info without having to unlock the device.
Has anyone come across a way to add a lockscreen to Gen8 devices? An option to turn on/off the lockscreen would be a nice addition by Archos.
I had used this basic method to lock my screen.
Settings --> Location & security --> Change screen lock
You can use Pattern or PIN to unlock screen.
If you need Slide to unlock, you can search "Unlock Screen" for apps in market.
jakkrith's method is great. or you could purchase widget locker from the Market:

Force Closes on A70S.
I think what Techngro means is a lockscreen which also shows some useful information like calendar, todo list, etc..without a need to unlock it.

I installed widgetlocker, but I got a problem now.
When I try to put out my screen (by pressing the power button)
The screen will turn black, as it has to, but then the slide bar will return.
I have to push the power button again to let the screen stay black.
Is there a setting I set wrong? Or is there a way to let the screen turn black and stay out at once? (until I push a button ofc)

Some folks have reported sleep issues with widget locker. you should check out the thread on XDA for possible solutions. i believe there is setting in WL to prevent it from coming back on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732986
I looked there, but couldn't really find it in the 680 comments.
Used the search function, but I don't think I use the right words..
Can you tell me where to look, or what words to look for?

[Q]Lock Screen Wallpaper

hahaha
So my co-worker as a prank, took a picture of himself with the front facing camera and set the picture as the lockscreen. Now I can't seem to switch it back to the default since it only allows pictures to be selected out of the gallery. Any suggestions?

Not properly it seems... opps
No need to come across as rude
Take a picture of yourself on his phone and put it as his lockscreen. Then people will start thinking you two are lovers. xD
Jokes aside, when you long press a home screen, and you click wallpaper, you don't get like gallery, live wallpaper, wallpaper gallery? Doesn't picking a picture from say, wallpaper gallery, change the lockscreen wallpaper also? Excuse me if i'm wrong or you don't have a wallpaper gallery/live wallpapers.
Home screen > menu > wallpaper > gallary.
Choose the default red wallpaper, but press the portrait symbol. It will ask you if you want to use the wallpaper for the lock screen as well.

Rooted Helps.
If you want to remove Lock screen File Then,
You can use root explorer to delete the lock screen file in the system by :-
(i) search for (lock) or (lockscreen) in root explorer home.
(ii) then select the lockscreen image file present in the system search and delete it.
Don't forget toggle {mount as r/o}.
And when you remove the lockscreen file it will automatically turned to default or original lock screen.

HI ,
apart from going to your "pictures gallery" ,to set the lockscreen wallpaper ,have you gone to settings .?(easiest way if you struggling is,)
( settings/screen/screen display/ and you will see option either homescreen wallpaper or lockscreen wallpaper, select lockscreen ,and you will see options, wallpaper gallery or gallery ...!
test it by being straight forward and select ,eg.wallpaper gallery, select one of the pictures ,complete action using "crop picture" ,not any alternative (" crop picture" should be the stock app option ) and it should set lockscreen.?
nb.
afterwards, if you want to ,try again with pictures gallery, but after selecting wallpaper you must "backtrack " all way out of picture gallery and not just close application .!
hope this works for you ,it should
willcor

[Q] Setting images as wallpaper

I feel really stupid for asking this, but I have forgotten how to set images as wallpaper. I tried through the stock gallery app, but that only lets you set half of the image as the wallpaper. I've done it before, but for the life of me I can't remember how.
you can try a different gallery app. I use fishbowl and that works good just select the picture press menu, set as, wallpaper then whichever scale you want
You could also long press on an empty spot on your home screen, select wallpapers, then gallery.

Android update 6.0.1 issues

For me, after the update there are several issues:
Home screen apps were removed.
I can't remove icons from home screen. Dragging works, but can't reach the trashcan on top of the screen... It works only when automatic screen rotation is on and the phone is used in "landscape". In other situations the top of the screen works fine, just can't remove icons from home screen.
Where's the option to arrange icons by Name? Is it been removed? Could'nt find it anywhere.
I refuse to believe that these are all my own problems

After the update?? The phone came with marshmallow already, you mean the incremental firmware? All the things you say are there. Try to re-flash the firmware. You don't need to wipe user data, Only if you want a clean installation.

Using a default launcher in pointless, when there are a lot good alternatives available, so select some and just use it.
