Best Oneplus 6T skins? - OnePlus 6T Accessories

Just a matter of few hours for the release of OnePlus 6T phone. The hype is high, I am confident this would meet the expectations of OP fans like me. I am on the fence on an upgrade from OP6 to OP6T with Oneplus throwing in a free USB-C earphones.
While browsing for some skins for the glass body, I stumbled upon GadgetShieldz 6T skins ads. Wanting to explore more, I found many accessories brands have already come out with OP6T skins, screen protectors and cases. Was just wondering if they had received some official inputs from the brand to develop these accessories.
Some famous brands like Slickwraps, GadgetShieldz and Dbrand have already started taking pre orders for skins. I have known GadgetShieldz for a while now. Did shoot a mail to their customer support and was informed that the skins would be shipped post the official release of the phone although they have already showcased the skins and the device on their website. I am seeing two cameras on the Oneplus 6T images on Gadgetshieldz site instead of three that was leaked before.
Just wondering, if I can go ahead and book a OnePlus 6T skin from GadgetShieldz? The other options I have are Dbrand and Skinnova but the shipping to my place usually takes 15-20 days from either of these two.
Update : Got Gadgetshieldz oneplus 6T skins in the end after the below recommendations. Was getting confused between the Black Camo and the Black Matrix but finally chose the Matrix.
Arrived quickly, even before my OP6T. Bought even their screen protector for the Front until the official Tempered Glass comes out. Turned out a great choice in the end, thanks to everyone. The precision of the skins is fantastic with no problems at all even in application.

Do the Gadget shieldz, it will be delivered before you get D-Brand or other brands. I shall also be placing my order tonight after the Indian launch.

+1 for GadgetShieldz.
I currently have the sansdtone black skin on my Note 9 & it's a perfect fit.
It's holding up very nicely, even to daily case removals,no signs of peeling at the edges.

Do I also get protection for sides of OnePlus 6T?

Hey, I am getting OnePlus 6T soon. I'd post pictures once the phone arrives. Cases have never enthused me. Skins seem to be the only alternative. Do any of these brands have skins that offer protection to sides of the 6T, so I can buy these skins. Seems dbrand doesn't. Protection to the sides is needed because I am ditching cases and choosing a TG on the front.
--------------------------------------------X-----------------------------------
Hey guys, as I had promised to post photos of my OnePlus 6T with the skin applied, so here we go :
My instinct and your suggestions to get GadgetShieldz skins to cover even the sides of my OnePlus 6T has really been helpful (Skins that cover the glass back alone were also available). Now my 6T phone is wrapped in this green camo skin. The GS skin was premium in quality and I liked the way it feels when touched or when I hold in hand. I can feel the texture as the phone stays solid in hand.
The YouTube videos helped me in applying the skin, while it took some time for me to carefully apply the skin over the sides and speaker holes. After all, protecting the sides of the phone is all that I wanted, instead of going for a skin that offers protection only for the phone's glass back. Now I get the confidence to put the phone on my desk without having to be too mindful each time. I have to thank you guys for suggesting GadgetShieldz skin, now I am happy that my OnePlus 6T meets style with protection.

@KOLIOSIS thanks a ton for the Gadgetshieldz link. They were even offering a 20 percent discount valid only for pre-orders on the OnePlus 6T skins. Loved the textures they offered. Ordered the full body skins which covered the sides. Lucky to grab the discount.

Well there's a time a get bored with colored skin and want to enjoy the original color device and naked skin it's perfect for that IMO
Plus you get some kind of protection
Never keep skin for a long time that's why i'm using a lot of the them during the period i'm having the device.

I just ordered from here also. Hope it works good. My last dbrand for the 5T gave me tons of issues and I was considering not using a skin again.

DIY: Felt peel-stick backing to reduce scratches

I have found a cheap and usable solution for a felt backing to my tablet. 99 cents:
http://www.dickblick.com/products/quick-stick-felt/
I found this at my local Michaels Arts and Crafts Store -- cut it a little smaller to size and then paste it to the back of the device. You might want to jot down the serial number first, in case you misplace the box.
I no longer have concerns about moving it on my desk and scuffing up the back.
Reposting this from the giant thread:
For anyone wanting a back protector, I cut up some carbon fiber vinyl that I bought a while back from ebay. I lay it on flat surfaces a lot and didn't want scratches. Search carbon fiber vinyl on ebay.

I traced around the tablet on the vinyl backing. Then i cut the overall size down another 1/8" or so all the way around. Then line the vinyl up and start working from one side to the other. I only removed enough of the backing to get it started, then worked it on from there. Doing it this way you can work out any bubbles as you go, which works great.

Sounds good.
PM when you decide.
When I get a chance, I'll scan the backing of my vinyl that I applied. It is pretty close to perfect size, so you have to be exact when puting in on.
So, we putting together a group buy of this stuff or are we just gonna push rothnic into mass production of the things (like he doesn't do enough already LOL)?
Seriously though, I want on the CF Vinyl bandwagon, however I don't see the need for me personally to have 10 square feet.
Looking forward to your pattern, rothnic.
I used the link in Rothnic's post to order mine. $9.99 shipped was the price. It is really easy to apply, and surprisingly it laid down smooth on the curved edges. It is very tough, and looks cool. I did similar to Rothnic by just laying the tablet face down on the vinyl and tracing. Then I cut it about an 1/8th inch smaller. Fit great, and even let me peel it back up a couple times to get it right..
I really like it. Thanks again Rothnic.
I followed Rothnic's links to ebay and bough some 3M carbon vinyl film and I have to say, it ROCKS! I bought it from a different vendor for the same price, the vinyl itself is very heavy duty and easy to work with when applying. If you have ever fought with vinyl before (and maybe lost) this is a much better class of product than the old stuff. I'll put a quick tutorial on how I did it here just to show how easy it is since this is a DIY post after I get to 8 posts.
After reading Rothnic's original post I got excited and called all the sign shops in town looking for carbon fiber vinyl film. Much to my disappointment no one had it. One sign shop an hour away had it, but wanted $30 for a 12 inch x 12 inch piece of it. Who knows, maybe it was real carbon fiber but I said "screw that" and just ordered a 12 inch by 48 inch piece off ebay for 9.99 including shipping. In the meantime I went to a sign shop close to where I work and bought a small piece of vinyl just to practice on. Gray and sparkly was as close to carbon fiber as I could get and it turned out okish to use temporarily. The new vinyl however was easier to apply and looked better to boot.
Thanks again Rothnic!

Found this earlier today, and pre-ordered...
I've tried lots of cases, but finally settled on Diztronic for my Galaxy Nexus, S5, Note3, ... This one looks great, and if it's anything like the quality of the others I've had, I'll save lots of time just going for it now instead of looking at others...
Already ordered mine. I've tried several other companies but I always go back to Diztronic.
Ordered mine last night, use coupon code 'repeatbuyer' for 10% off ($1.00).
tempered glass
anyone have experience with past iterations of this case using a tempered glass screen protector? i also preordered the diztronic along with a cheapo hong kong tempered glass screen protector found on ebay. cheers
Well guys, I have some unfortunate news. We are going to have to push back the release a few days. The first batch arrived from the factory an hour ago and there is a manufacturing problem. The camera hole has some extra plastic around the inside edge. On a black phone you may not notice it, but on a white phone you definitely would, and likely on a blue phone as well. I'm having the factory remake them now. We will likely still hit our original Amazon release date of Nov 14th, but I've pushed back the advertised date to be Nov 18th just to be safe. The website release date of Nov 12th is now impossible. Nov 13th will be the absolute earliest, but I'm going to advertise the 18th there as well just to be safe.
We've never missed our advertised release dates. We usually beat them by a few days even. First time for everything. Some of our competitors would likely sell these cases as is, but I know you guys demand the best from Diztronic and I want to send you a quality product. I think the silver lining here is, pretty much no one has this phone in hand yet, right?

Should work if it's 0.3mm or smaller, but we haven't tested it either. Generally speaking, under 0.3mm glass screen protectors typically work with all of our cases.

Thanks for the update. Have used your cases on my Note 2, 3 and my wife's iPhone 5 and 6 Plus. Will definitely put in an order for my Nexus 6.
On a related note, is there a reason why you didn't produce a case for the Note 4? Been waiting to buy one.

We are releasing a Note 4 case. We haven't done so yet as there was some concern about microphone placement, it's not consistent between the china model, unlocked international model, at&t, Verizon, etc. We wanted to be certain our case would at a minimum work with every US carrier, and ideally work with everything. The design we went with is going to work with all variants, and will be coming before black Friday. I know some customers have emailed in upset saying that we are "ignoring" the Note 4, but I assure you that is not the case (no pun intended, haha). The Note 4 is a major phone, and if we could of released it sooner and been confident it would work for all variants we definitely would of.
Here is our Ultra Case for the Nexus 6, also due before black friday.

Can you post any "real" product pictures of either version for the N6? I'd like to see the actual finished item instead of a render if you would be willing to post one.
are they going to offer other colors like with the Oneplus?
I will buy a red or blue for sure
I wish you offered other colors, but I will still buy the black since I will need a case to protect my baby on day 1.

This actually has my interest since it offers a little more protection and it doesn't look like it adds too much bulk. No window for the Nexus logo like the 5? I also would be interested in the finished item photo also if you have it available.
I would also be interested in inquiring if there are plans for others colors down the road. I got the red case for my OnePlus One and I enjoyed the color.

Phone skins are really great to add style to any phone, plus they’re not expensive, but they provide minimal protection if you happen to drop your phone. On the other end of the spectrum are cases, which are generally more expensive but offer much more protection. Cases are bulky and they don’t let the beauty of your phone show through because they often have to cover all four edges as well as the back of the phone.

That’s where CrashGuard by RhinoShield comes in. CrashGuard is essentially a bumper case, which means that it does not cover the back of your phone but only the sides (thus giving your device a more “naked” feel), but because of how it’s engineered, it provides more protection than most cases. CrashGuard is far superior to the bumpers of the past because it has been engineered to absorb impact. This is done by utilizing a proprietary polymer material that is far more shock-absorbent than plastic, and it also has a protective honeycomb structure within the bumper to disperse impact properly. In fact, within the honeycombs are compartments of pressurized air that act as airbags and deflect impact energy. If that sounds really elaborate, it is, and the net result is that you can drop your phone from a variety of heights (up to 11 feet) and if you have a CrashGuard bumper on the phone, you’re going to have a completely unmarked phone. If you want to see how incredible this protection is, watch this video from David Pogue where he does everything in his power to smash his phone by dropping it from a tall ladder.

Not only are CrashGuard bumpers durable, but they’re lightweight (with most of their bumpers coming in under 14 grams). They’re also pretty grippy thanks to the matte finish, and they come in a variety of colors. Another thing we really like about the CrashGuard line is the pricing: the Pixel bumper is priced at $24.00, and you can pre-order a CrashGuard for the Pixel/Pixel XL.
Use discount code "XDAFTW" for 15% off until November 10, 2016. Check out the RhinoShield store here.
Thanks to RhinoShield for sponsoring this post and contest.
They also have $5 discount if you never purchased from their website, which is a bit better. Problem is, they only have free shipping on orders over $30 and on their website they have it listed and shipping out "early November". On Amazon, it's shipping out Monday and it has prime. So unless you plan on buying something else from Rhinoshield to qualify for free shipping, it's about the same price on Amazon and you'll get it sooner.

I ordered the bumper for $25 and that came with $5 off on the screen protector, so +20 is $45 USD so I qualified for free shipping, as well as the 15% off, so after tax (12% where I am) I paid a little over $50 CAD which was in my budget. And literally, if the thing is even a third as strong and stable as the advertised impact demonstration in their videos, I am satisfied in my use I will be perfectly safe with this product.
I also expect delivery in less than 5 days based on the tracking/shipping notice.
And I will be sure to post a review next time I get the chance to drop my phone :silly:

I only see a black one for the pixel on Amazon. I'm looking for a white one.
Would be nice if they also made an impact shield for the back of the phone. Currently waiting for the crash guard and impact shield to ship.

Looks like 3 1/8 inches wide on my measuring tape.
I'm not impressed so far. Buttons are really hard to press and stock charger cord doesn't fit.
I like how it looks though, here it is with the Hemp skin from Slickwraps

I prefer a bumper because it doesn't cover the back of the phone. A clear silicone case always gets scratched up. A bumper also doesn't really change the thickness of the phone except around the edges.

The silicon on the bottom has stretched enough that I can fit the stock cord but I still have to jam it in there. The buttons could be difficult to press because of the skin, but I doubt it.

The edges are what drive the width which is what defines how easy it is to hold one handed

wow that's really wide... is that on the pixel or the pixel xl?
I cannot use it it it really is that wide. My pleson slim tpu case is only 2 7/8 wide on my Pixel and i dropped it from top coat pocket height on concrete twice already...not sure how because is don't usually make a habit of dropping my phones but it does not have a mark on it!
Just got my bumper from Amazon and i'm loving it. Stock charging cord fits with no problem and all the buttons feel great except for the power button, but that will be fine once I break it in for a few days. Combined with their screen protector everything looks perfect.
Just ordered mine, thanks for the code!
Installed mine yesterday. Now i don't feel worried when I handle my phone... Good.

On yours*
I'm not the only one who had a problem, if you look at the XL thread too.
Pixel from UK Google store.
FOR ME:
Cons:
Stock cord does not fit
Only accepts slim headphone jacks
Buttons hard to press
White bumper on white phone to me looks rubbish
Pros:
Phone is more grippy and feel less likely to slip out of my hand
Not too much bigger (this is the smaller Pixel remember)
That said I'm going to remove some of the material around the USB-C and headphone ports and keep it.

Hello everybody,
now that the first HTC U11 are going to get delivered it's time to talk about some accessories as well. As the in-build case seemingly ages in shortest time, that'd be one part. But other accessories should not go unmentioned.
Thus I'm opening up this thread to - even if my U11 is not delivered yet - show you which accessories I already got or am going to get for the U 11.
First off and to have one besides the one coming in the box, I ordered an ultra slim TPU bumper case from MaxKu to have one surrounding the whole frame of the device.
In addition I already pre-ordered the Spigen Liquid Crystal Case which covers up all of the frame as well, and where I am sure my device is going to be protected really well. It is in addition Edge Sense optimized, by flats in the region of the Edge Sense Sensors (see picture attached).
Second thing I wanted to accomplish was to connect my U11 to the TV via HDMI, while still able to charge it meanwhile. My choice fell onto the EgoIoggo USB-C-Hub where I could not only connect TV to my U11 using HDMI, but also another USB device by utilization of two additional USB-ports. It is already working fine on my HTC 10 and I'm looking forward to try it on my U11 soon.
I'll try to link all products mentioned and linked in the replys of this thread to the second and third post, depending on where they fit better. Guess following this way everyone will be able to watch up the mentioned products and decide for themself which one to finally buy.
Best regards

Can someone recommend a good case that does not cover the right and left edges of the LCD? I like using apps like Sidebar that allows a custom side tray to be lauched from swiping from the edges. Very helpful when switching through my frequently used apps without visiting the home screen (and increasing the risk of the app being closed).
Thanks.

I'm curious about this too. I won't pre-order a case until I see some reviews, especially since a case could potentially interfere with the edge operations.

I agree about the included case. In past phone releases I'd guess that the case manufacturers received and used a dummy phone in order to create a case that fits. I'm wondering if the case manufacturers should have asked for/received that cheap included case as well so that they could have figured out which part of their cases needed to be unblocked/open for proper functionality.

They must have had dummies for sure. At least Spigen seems to have had one, looking at their case.

There are very few options out there! This is worrisome. The HTC 10 had far more at launch.
I'm really looking for a full body clear skin. Don't really wanna cover up that beautiful rear. Did the same with my 10 and it's been perfect (even made it easier to grip).
I think a big reason for no cases is HTC kept the u11 from leaking a heck of a lot more. They must not have released care of the phone to case makers. Seidio has some on their website coming soon

Didn't have such a Problem with the crystal clear case from Spigen on my M8. In any case the Sense Edge compatibility goes first for me. As the Spigen got this, it's what matters most for my personally.

I just got off the phone with Seidio (I've had good luck in the past) and they said, "Yes, they will have cases for the HTC U11. Expect them in 2 weeks."
I pre-ordered the Spigen Liquid Crystal in the meantime. Just letting all know.

Accessories [REVIEW] MOUS - Limitless 5.0 (MagSafe compatible case)

Hello everyone,
As I'm usually testing a few cases during my time with a smartphone (from cheap AliExpress ones to more expensive stuff like LiveEdge cases from Carved).
The Galaxy S23 Ultra being in my hands for a week, I've been able to try out the official leather case from Samsung (currently my daily option) and the Spigen Ultra Hybrid ZeroOne.
On one hand, I had the premium feeling of the leather, and on the other the "perfect form factor" (the small hollow around the S-Pen slot is clearly one of the best proof that Spigen is paying attention to user experience), but the plastic feel is driving me insane after a few hours.
During my time with the S22 Ultra, I was mainly running the grippy Cryo Armor from Spigen or a LiveEdge case from Carved. Although the Carved one was clearly a feast for the eyes and quite practical with its MagSafe compatibility, I was regularly coming back to the Cryo Armor, that felt better in hand.
As that struggle to define which one deserved to become the titular spanned through months, I began to look for an option slightly in between and that's when I finally came across MOUS. And at the time, I avoided to order from them (Carved being quite expensive and willing to spare my bank account from an other expensive case). But the time has come and I finally decided to try it out by ordering a Limitless 5.0 case today.
What decided me?
Similar to Spigen's design (S-Pen's hollow)
Wooden option (bamboo for mine, it'll remind me my good old OnePlus 3 bamboo case)
MagSafe compatibility (as an increasing number of accessories are coming to it, can't hurt)
Build looks qualitative
Life-long warranty
Price: 60€ (still pricey, but not more than the official Samsung leather case)
I placed the order today, and will surely receive it next week. This post will be updated with a few pictures and initial thoughts once it'll be in my hands and protecting the S23 Ultra.
Oh, and to illustrate what I mean by the "S-Pen hollow", here's a picture:

MOUS S23 Ultra products, if you're interested in trying for yourself.
Review - Limitless 5.0 by MOUS
Received the case this morning, and finally had some time to give it a try.
First of all, simple yet nice packaging from the brand.
Once opened, we can take a glance at the MagSafe adapter embedded in the case. The inside of it is covered with soft felt-like coating. The inner edges are pretty sharp compared to other brands (Spigen and Rhinoshield have more rounded ones, for instance). Although the main frame is made out of TPU, you can see multiple green rubber inserts on the side: they're what they call AiroShock, which is MOUS' main solution when it comes to absorbing shocks.
As explained in this topic's first post, the S-Pen slot is more accessible for the thumb (or whatever finger you usually use to get it) thanks to a hollowed design surrounding it. Clearly something you'll appreciate if you are using it often.
The external sides of the Limitless 5.0 sport a wave-like pattern to add some grip to it once in your hands. One thing I quickly noticed is how closer it was from the edge of the official Samsung screen protector. Small detail, but still has some importance, as Samsung's official leather case is leaving a bigger gap between its edge and the screen protector, leading to a hooked feeling when using some navigation gestures.
The bottom and upper lips are a little higher than the sides ones, which should protect the display if it was falling face down to the ground. Overall, I'd say that the case fits well when the S23 Ultra is in. Not adding too much bulk, and looking quite robust.
Once the phone is showing its back, it shows the embedded bamboo panel and cameras' module protection. At the opposite of the Samsung's leather case, the module a small raise around it, and the design is quite open, which looks better if you like seeing your S23 Ultra's colour or want to try a colour combination suiting your tastes or matching your case.
On the MagSafe's side, it works as intended, but I noticed my ArcHybrid Portable Wireless Charger was heating a little more than intended. It also happened when I was using Carved's EdgeLive caseon my former S22 Ultra, so I have two theories about it:
The case is too thick, forcing the charger to input more power to reach an efficient electro-magnetic field
As I could read here and there, the MagSafe adapter shouldn't go for a full circle design (opened designs were advertised as better regarding this)
Well, it seems wireless charging with the MagSafe compatible accessories will have to be improved.
One last thing that also disappointed me a little is on the side buttons-field: fully plastic... It's not dramatic, but I think leaving the choice to customers to get an add-on with an anodised aluminium option or something made out of the same material as the back plate would have been nice. Otherwise, they click good, so their main goal is achieved.
And final point: if you are a little clumsy, MOUS' case has holes to attach a strap. So would you be a righty or a lefty, you can secure your phone to your wrist.
Final thoughts
With only a limited time in hand, I feel that this case will be pretty satisfying to use everyday. Sure, there are points to improve for a future Limitless 6.0 , but I can see design choices that I'm clearly looking for and a solid build quality. It's still a 60€/65$/55£ case, but my personal expectations are met. I'll publish an update if I encounter any issues with it in the future.
Edit: after 5 minutes of wireless charging, the Spigen ArcHybrid Portable Wireless Charger is triggering its protection and stopping the charge (too hot to even hold it longer than a few seconds).
On the other hand, my other wireless chargers are working without issues, so I'm more inclined to think that it's solely coming from the Spigen's device.
Review published.
Added an edit about the wireless charging.

It really is gorgeous... So I own a Pixel 7 Pro and had the S22 Ultra.
I very rarely go for 3rd party cases. The only one I would normally consider is Bellroy - Their quality for me is mental.
But I thought about NOT upgrading from the S22U as the S23U didn't warrant it, Until I heard about Snapdragon etc which means for me till be a battery life champion. (Why does this matter?)
Well - I always loved the Moto X style stuff that Motorola did many moons ago. So I did some research and came across Mous. Had some spare dollar (GBP) sitting around and took the plunge... I was in love. I ditched my old S22U protective stand case (Official) and went full on Mous. It was soo good, I ditched my official case from Google and went with the Walnut one for the P7P too.
Then I upgraded, got my S23U on Friday the 10th Feb and decided to go with the same case for that.
I kid you not, the feel of the wood is so nice and the bumper case around it is very good quality. (I was going to go for your colour for the Pixel - But they didnt have it)

I've heard about Bellroy, but never gave a try (yet?). Do you have one specific pick from them that you'd recommend?
I also had the S22U stand case, and used it... Two days? Was quite a disappointment (I'm really struggling with full-TPU cases, which is also why the Spigen case with UV printed internals also didn't make it as a daily choice).
For the Pixel 7 Pro, I was thinking about the one below, which is quite stunning on pictures and surely interesting in the sun.
Are you from Mous ? Looks like a paid placement?

I miss the old fabric cases they made for Pixel
Bellroy only make Leather cases, they put Sammies official ones to shame.

I am not a paid shill for Mous. I genuinely agree with the review that the OP has put here, the product is very good IMHO.
Others may disagree and have had negative experiences which is completely understandable. Both sides of the coin!

No, just sharing my experience with a brand I don't see the name often around here, and it's always a good thing to share these experiences, as it might help some people figuring out what they want to buy and keep instead of buying multiples cases they won't be happy with before finding the chosen one.
It's not guaranteed that I won't find a better brand to stick to in the future, but for now, MOUS is making my day.

Ahah, same here. Though I prefer wood and leather over fabric (have you already checked Carved and OxyWood for wood + resin?).
Yes, I noticed the design was extremely similar to the official Samsung ones, so I don't think I'll give it a try until I change my S23U, as I already have a leather one. But I'll remember it for a future occasion, thanks.
My biggest problem with this brand was the magnet strength. I have it for the Pixel 7 Pro and my magsafe stuff barely stick. I slapped on one of those magsafe metal rings and it's a TON better, but kinda defeats the purpose of the case. I think I'll just go naked with a dbrand skin and the metal ring this go around

Yeah, I noticed it was slightly weaker than one of my other case equipped with a third-party metal ring, I put it on the embedding depth, but I cannot be sure. My Spigen MagSafe wireless charger was sticking quite well, though.
How about the effect of the magnet on the S-pen? Any comments on that?

I've seen no effect/differences so far. And I how no issues with the Carved case and my S22U either. They advertise it as a magnet, but I'm quite sure it's only a magnetic compatible material (or alloy).
