Hi all
If you want to hide the notch (status bar background black) and/or if you want to get the Face Unlock (top feature) enabled here's how to do. For some reasons these features are not available for all regions.
So to can enable them just follow these steps:
Go to Settings / Additional settings / Region and then choose ITALY.
Note: If you have not the same time as Italy, just adjust it manually.
And now, to HIDE THE NOTCH :
Settings / Full screen display / Hide notch
And to FACE UNLOCK (super fast, even if night!):
Settings / Lockscreen & Password / Manage face data
Done.
Having Italy as region doesn't affect your use experience.

I use the app Notification Toggle for a custom "panel". However, it doesn't work on P except for the lock screen. I hope I can disable the version in P so Notification Toggle works outside of the lock screen.
If that isn't possible can I restrict the number of icons in the panel? I want 5 per row, not 6.

I recently bought a Mi A2 Lite which comes with Android One, Pie version, I have unlock the bootloader and root the device.
I wonder whether I can get the following experience on Pie
1. Double tap to wake/screen off
2. Pie control (from paranoid)
3. Halo (from paranoid
4. slide on the notification bar to change brightness (notice it is not a physical slider on the notification area)

rapidly loosing the patience with this issue.
so essentially i want to apply a new theme. To do this i go into the theme store, download the theme I want & select apply. The whole theme applies.
To customise it i then go: theme store > me > customise > i then have the option to select the following:
- lock screen style
- lock screen wallpaper
- home screen wallpaper
- icons
- text style
i can change the home screen wall paper no issues & it will apply, but when i try to change the lockscreen wall paper even if i choose one of the presets (eg not a photo from my the gallery) then i get the following message "keep the current lock screen style? if you discared it, Magazine unlock will be used instead" .
If I select keep them I keep the theme of the lockscreen but it means i have to use the image it comes with ie i can't change it to my own preferred photo.
If I select discard then it automatically reverts back to magazine unlock theme for lockscreen though will apply my desired image.
I have trawled google to find resolutions to this including enabling developer mode, which didnt make a difference. Other sources say trying the following:
settings > home screen & wallpaper > magazine unlock and just slide it off
or
or Screen lock & password > Magazine unlock
but neither of the above options are avaialbe to me under settings.
I also found something about managing subscriptions & stopping auto download but again those options I cannot find on my device.
this issue is occuring on both m10pro & my new p30. It's strange this issue is occuring on both devices which are running diffferent software & also have different huawei ID accounts.
m10p is running emui 9.1.0
p30 is running emui 10.0
it seems a basic function to be able to choose lockscreen style I want & the wall paper I want & if i can't do this then honestly tempted to just get rid of the device. Also magazine unlock has auto downloaded over 800 wallpapers to my device (m10p) I don't want this happening on the p30 but as above i can't seem to find a way to stop it on either device.
No notifications waiting makes the screen off and AOD not showing.
Recieving or already having a notification shows AOD.
On top of that you can select which apps are important to you to behave this way for their notifications and ignore others, also can be set similary for charging = on / not charging = off.
Yet it has no impact on battery maybe it will use like additional 0.009%
1- Install Always On Edge App
2- in Main settings section -> enable With AOD invisible -> but show AOD on notifications.
3- Main settings -> optional permissions -> AOD lighting controller.
4- save.
And that is it no need to enable any other permission or feature. However, please note that if you enable edge lighting then timing will be applied.
