Introduction
Ahoy everyone,
I decided to share my personal custom kernel with all of you. The main reason i started developing this kernel is to balance performance / battery / security and also add features.
I believe i have included most of the usually requested features. If your feature is not included you can ask for it and i will try to include it as long as you don't ask for ETA's. I am a student and i do this on my spare time.
This kernel is based on LineageOS 16.0 sources for beryllium.
Moreover, it is compiled with UBER Toolchain which is based on latest gnu.org changes and patched with AOSP and Linaro Android patches for optimal performance/battery.
So let's jump to the interesting part!
Sphinx Kernel Features
Compiled with UBER Toolchain 6.4.1

USB Fast Charge up to 900 mAh
LZ4 Compression Algorithm by default
Backlight Minimum Brightness Control
Power Efficient Workqueues
mac80211 Injection (Kali Nethunter Support)
I/O Schedulers: Zen v2, Maple, Fiops, Sio, Noop, Deadline, Cfq,
TCP Congestion Algorithms (bic, cdg, cubic, westwood, htcp, hstcp, hybla, vegas, scalable, lp, veno, yeah, illinois)
Governors: Schedutil, Ondemand, Conservative, Usersapce, Powersave, Performance, blu_schedutil
Zipped up with AnyKernel2
Notes
I bear absolutely no responsibility. If you brick your device. If you are not sure what a kernel is, how to flash it or how to restore your phone in case something goes wrong then do NOT proceed.
Moreover, you should flash this kernel only over the stock kernel that came with your Rom.

Version 1.7
Ahoy Ladies and Gentlemen.
Time for new version!
Changelog:

2) Merged ext4 upstreamed commits - Better System Performance
3) Merged Lineage 16.0 Upstream commits - Better Stability / Battery / Performance
4) Now Compiling with Uber Toolchain 6.4.1 - Better Battery/System Performance
5) Added Zen v2 I/O Scheduler - Better I/O Performance
6) Added TCP Congestion Algorithms (bic, cdg, cubic, westwood, htcp, hstcp, hybla, vegas, scalable, lp, veno, yeah, illinois) default is cdg - Better Internet Performance
7) Improved msm_performance - Better Performance
8) Enabled USB Fastcharge up to 900 mAh - Note (1)
9) Added blu_schedutil - Note (2)
10) Makefile Optimizations - Better Performance

12) Enabled LZ4 Compression Algorithm for Zram - Better Battery / Performance
13) Now Sphinx comes Pre-Configured out of the box for balance
14) Support F2FS File System - If Rom Supports it -
Notes:
Note 1: This is USB Fast Charge which means it works ONLY when you charge from a computer. The default output was 500 mAh and now it's 900 mAh (which is the maximum a usb port can support)
Note 2: This is a new EAS Governor ported from blu_spark Kernel for OnePlus 6. Currently it is almost the same with the schedutil governor from Pixel 3
Note 3: Many of you made some comment about the LED Notification being brighter etc. Now you can configure it yourself. THOUGH there is not interface for that in ANY App, you need to do it yourself.
Specifically:
Code:
* /sys/class/leds/white/device/led_fade (rw)
0 : blink
1 : fade (default)
* /sys/class/leds/white/device/led_intensity (rw)
0 : stock intensity
1-100 : 0% to 100% of stock intensity
Note: Does only work for static led, not fading/blinking !!!
* /sys/class/leds/white/device/led_speed (rw)
0 : stock speed
1 : continuous notification light
2-12 : 2 = very slow to 20 = very fast
I have listened to your requests to bring Sphinx to Poco and did everything in my powers to satisfy most of you and ensure this version is stable so if you enjoy this version don't forget to buy me a coffee
Cheers :highfive:

Dear Dev, First of all, I wanna say thanks for this amazing kernel! Its working perfectly on my phone. 1 question, do you think overclocking will be included? This would be great
Like SD845 to 3 Ghz or something, Thanks again for your hard work man! Much appreciated!

FAQs:
Q. what is the difference between your normal and jerrica builds?
A. normal build is based on official CM source and jerrica is based on premaca's official xiaomi source
Q. why CPU frequencies are not changing even after setting min and max values in kernel adiutor?
A. simple go to hotplugs, disable mpdecision and enable some other hotplug
Q. why is charging so slow?
A. sorry can't help I never faced this issue, even with stock cm13 kernel my device gets charged within 2hrs
one thing I can suggest is stick to a ROM for a week
by sticking to a ROM I mean don't even flash nightlies
Q. what is drivedroid?
A. DriveDroid is an Android application that allows you to boot your PC from ISO/IMG files stored on your phone.
more info here: http://softwarebakery.com/projects/drivedroid
Q. okay you have given us a balanced profile what about a battery oriented profile?
A. sorry, with the settings I have given above I already get 5-6hrs of SOT which is optimal for a 2200mAh battery, so if you are asking about a profile which will give about 7-8hrs of SOT stop dreaming.

Review.
Here is my review after testing it for 3 days :
Selinux - Permissive (Doesn't break ViPER4Android /Sound mods)
All sensors work fine (Including Yas sensor)
Great Multitasking (Heavy Games like Asphalt8, MC-Blackout run smooth)
Overclocked to 1.4 Ghz.
Lots of Cpu Governers, Hotplugs & I/O schedulers to choose from.
Good Battery life (After all these features)
Undervolted, Powersuspend.
Can be used as Usb keyboard/mouse.
No Lag, No Overheating.
Latest Linux Version.
Overall this is the best kernel till date for all the marshmallow RoMs of Xiaomi Redmi 2.
With a these variety of governers and a lot other things, this kernel also provides good battery life(You cant expect more than this from a 2200 mAh device)
I would suggest this kernel to all the redmi 2 users who haven't tried it yet....
and at last its a great work from @Ashish94 (Considering its his first kernel, then its awesome! )

Slow charging fast charging varies from user to user some are getting 1000mA and some are getting 500mA(including me). No such bug as going from 15-1% in 1sec.

Okay. I'm asking because in Temasek CM13 with his kernel, I got these two annoying bugs. I was getting 50 mA in idle, with no CPU load :/
nice and good kernel with lots of features

A little lag jitter will always be there irrespective of any kernel any rom you use. Try more tinkering with kernel settings and use the setting that suits you.

Did you make a backup of the old kernel?? If not open the zip package of your rom with winrar or any other compression software and extract boot.img from it. Now flash this boot.img with flashify or twrp. Done you are back to your old kernel.

Zetsubou
This kernel is 100% based on Zetsubou kernel, that is the best performance/stability balance for redmi 2! So all new Zetsubou features will be added and optimized much as possible to deliver the best performance for Root and Non-Root users, what? non-root users? yes! this kernel was made to be used without root! so you can get the max performance in your games without using Kernel adiutor or EX kernel manager!! (cof... cof.... Pokemon GO)

Use EX KERNEL MANAGER or KERNEL ADIUTOR to control all features
Installation:
-Download the zip file and save it into the root directory of external storage
-Reboot to recovery mode and flash the zip file
-Reboot device
It's recommended to flash HexaTurbo only over stock kernel
I recomend using Custom installation for better choices, since you are a gamer!

Good job, my Redmi 2 is fast. Amazing! I'm using mokee 7.1 nitghly 20170207
no sim cards detected after flashing the kernel but on dirty flashing the rom it gets detected.the rom is RR N latest .
Yeah techno is doing awesome work
AOSPExtended..
Custom installation not work for CPU and Color Control. I have to manually adjust all the setting on each reboot. Especially for CPU control, it need time to get 2112 , it keep lock down to 800 on each reboot. Anyway good performance .

@TecnoTailsPlays
Whilst testing your new update, I realized that the UI was really laggy. So I checked my frequencies and governor via KA and found out that the max frequency was capped at 800 mhz.
I tried changing frequencies and the frequencies wouldn't stick. If I tried raising it to 1209, it would bounce back to 800.
I tried changing governors too. Unfortunately issue didn't have a workaround so I Reverted to Zetsubou
My modem is 2014818 and I have the 1Gb Variant. I run AiCP 12.1

issue
Hi,
nice work, but I've found two problems:
1. VoLTE not working (missing icon in status bar]
2. 3D graphics is broken. (It looks like missing surfaces In Antutu).I did clean installation and it works fine now.
2. Not working Smart view.
I'm using SM-G950F last ETL version: G950FXXU1AQG5
But how do i change the CPU governors ?
I want it to be at powersave :/

I wouldn't keep too much faith in updates. The developers rom hasn't been updated in a long time, also a rom created for the S6 was never updated.
Do you have any plans on adding cpu voltage control? I miss this feature so much on my S8+. Had it on every other device before. It can save a lot of battery and heat.

There are two branches:
Stable - which has all proven and tested development
Beta - new features introductions. Remember if your chip fries... It was done with good intentions, intended only for brave people.
To build this kernel I give a huge thank you to great dev @savoca has had a lot of patience and shared his knowledge to build a kernel with a step by step guide, as also explaining how each stuff works.
@andi79 for the introduction of the 64bit model kernel compilation.
All credits go to the OnePlus team.
Disclaimer: With the use of this kernel I am not responsible for any damage to the phone. It is at your own risk in case happens something wrong. I use this kernel daily and test it before release.

Not yet. Preparing the kernel first. Alot of new things to learn..
Oreo Rom will come eventually just need some time to conclude it.
The kernel I thought as the easiest and the priority for now.
deleted
Update:
Replaced v1.00
Added proprietary wifi-drivers to the zip file.
Apparently, the wifi-driver is proprietary and for that reason, we do not have it on the source. While comparing with other devs, seems that they are using opensource wifi-drivers from 4.5.x. Decided, for now, to stick with proprietary drivers for the OnePlus 5T, unless we are speaking on an AOSP ROM or if we discover that there are more benefits.
This is for the people which reported wifi not working. What happened was you came from another kernel which replaced wifi files (originally from stock), and this broke wifi when using this kernel.
With stock always gave me 173 000.

Problably yes. Need to access which ones exist.
Hello guys,
Just uploaded a new update to the kernel. The version 1.01 includes the following:
Add a collections of schedulers and TCP Advanced Algorithms
Disable CC for size
Disable gentle fair sleepers
Sound control
block: add FIOPS scheduler
block: Add SIO scheduler
block: add fifo scheduler
block: add sioplus scheduler
block: add tripndroid scheduler
block: add vr scheduler
block: add zen v2 scheduler
block: add BFQ Scheduler
set initial TCP window size to 64K (speed improvement)
clock-osm.c: Expose PVS level via sysfs
vfs: move permission checking into notify_change() for utimes(NULL)
kernel: Only expose su when daemon is running
fs: default to noatime
Correctly unregister usb_psy
Merged commits for upstream linux kernel untill v4.4.52
Notes: The wifi proprietary drivers are closed source and connected to the kernel 4.4.21. When I change the kernel version number to something else wifi gets broken. So the number of the kernel is 4.4.21 but the kernel is updated with upstream Linux patches until 4.4.52.
This version has also security patches to the SU which will protect from its vulnerabilities.
Added some performance configurations which will speed up the phone for the same battery life.
Introduced the sound control feature.
Change from relatime to noatime to increase the durability of the SSD without compromising performance.
Added a folder with the stock kernel (necessary to flash through fastboot). I will create a zip to flash through recovery on the weekend.
In case you have any questions please let me know.

This kernel is based on LineageOS 16.0 sources for bullhead and has been upstreamed to version 3.10.108.
Moreover, it is compiled with GNU GCC Toolchain which is based on latest gnu.org changes and patched with AOSP and Linaro Android patches for optimal performance/battery.
So let's jump to the interesting part!

Notes
I bear absolutely no responsibility. If you brick your device. If you are not sure what a kernel is, how to flash it or how to restore your phone in case something goes wrong then do NOT proceed.
Morever, you should flash this kernel only over the stock kernel that came with your Rom.

Since its my first kernel i am currently waiting for androidfilehost to grant me developer access. If this does not happen the next few hours i will upload the files manually.
Do you know that lowering CPU frequencies on this device is useless as it's running on the same voltage.

Well, first I forgot to flash supersu together and my device automatically got encrypted which Im not fan of.
I like the idea having Adreno Idler, almost forgot about the feature, lol.
I think you could add cpu workque feature, just suggestion.
So far, it acts a bit laggy but its still too early to say and it could be from thermal which I keep at 42 and its hot today where I am now but will see later.. i will run this kernel for some days to see. Thanks
