SIM Problem - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 / 5 Plus Questions & Answers

I can't activate my SIM / phone number on my Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus. I also can't turn on cloud sync for messages & call history. I think this also caused the Play Store to not be certified.
I've googled and searched, but the only fixes that worked for others was only a few & they didn't work for me.
If it matters it was unlocked when purchased & I have Cricket Wireless service.
I've also tried doing it through i.mi.com but i still get same issues.
I also can't activate my messages.

To activate your SIM/Phone, xiaomi send an international message to UK, at least on my case.
Havent your carrier blocked this type of costs?

Oh is there a way to allow the cost?
I did it through the site i.mi.com but I'm still having all these issues.

[Q] WiFi Calling Problem T-Mobile HTC One

Is this working for anyone? I get the following error:
Wi-Fi Calling Error
Error: ER06 "SIM Not Ready"
I've tried 3 wifi networks, same error. And, I've tried removing the SIM card and had the SIM replaced at a T-Mobile store.
Also -- not sure if related -- but under About-->Phone Identity, the Phone number is shown as Unknown. Strangely, it did show my number until I called tech support to resolve the WiFi Calling issue (unsuccessful after tier 1 and tier 2 support and an in-store visit) but after the first guy tinkered a bit my phone number stopped showing up. If you call my number, though, it does ring. Very strange.
FYI, this is a new account activation, not an upgrade.
This is an important feature due to lack of cell signal at various places I frequent.
The current status with tech support is "we'll call you back in 2 hours" (it's been 3) because it might take that long for our changes to propagate.
:crying:
Thanks for any tips.

I had that same issue, I was an upgrade customer. I called in and they had to activate my SIM. I gave them my SIM number and about 10 minutes I could access Visual Voicemail and make Wi-Fi calls.

Thanks for the response. My issue magically resolved itself after I completed registration on tmobile.com. No idea if they're related or not but seems like a strange coincidence. Anyway, all working now.
Cheers.
I had to update my 911 address for it to work

Actually i had the same problem. I logged into my account and I turned it on in the services menu. Still didnt work. I also all the numerous tips and even called support and still nothing. After about an hour or 2 it just started working. BTW i just opened an acct with tmobile so i dunno if it that makes a difference or not.
You have to set you 911 location.otherwise when your on wifi calling it won't know where to send emergency services to you. I just followed the steps to input my address and after that it worked fine.

I first had to call support and it turns out they didn't have data on my line ( new account) and than i had to set my 911 address. It than worked just fine. It works great IMO.

Using ATT sim shows incoming numbers as internation

Hello, I've got a quick question to ask on behalf of a friend. I recently setup her verizon note 2 for ATT service via NET10 but the problem is when I call her from lets say my phone number (111)111-1111 it comes in as +11 1 111 11 11.
I've doubled checked the assisted dialing settings and their setup as they should, I've even tried the phone.apk from the ATT NOTE 2, along with telephony.apk files... all with no result. If anyone knows a solution please do feel free to post it as I'm not very smart with this type of issues when it comes to android but I'm starting to suspect its because this phone with a sim card isn't meant to be used locally but over seas.

I have the same setup and same problem. I've looked for 3 months and couldn't find a fix. And as of 2 days ago, i'm not longer able to recieve mms. I can send just fine but incoming keeps failing to download. I've tried several apn's and nothing seems to work. it's strange because it's been working fine past few months. Other than that, Net10 is great on this phone as long as you don't have to call CS for anything.

Also having this problem only if I return a call from a previous incoming call it fails because of the "+" prefix.

mine does the sane thing. so I have to either go into contacts or manually put the number. checked all my settings to make sure international calling wasn't causing the problem. I have no idea what's causing this.
I did find an apn that fixed my mms issue though.

Anyone able to resolve this issue yet? I am in the same boat and have to manually enter the number to dial back

You can solve the MMS issue by getting another messaging APP like TEXTRA and adding the MMS APN setting in it. It will work fine after that.

I have spent days looking over this site and others like it. Can not for the life of me find a solution. I too have the verizon international note 2, use straight talk(att) and want my gps. I flashed the clean rom ace version onto my note, if i use the verizon option, gps works, but get a message can not make international calls if i call someone who just called me. the +1 issue. IF i use the att option the phone works flawless.... except no gps. I tried the beans flash and dirty back to clean rom with no avail. any one fix the issue? I need att service on verizon international phone with the gps!!!

Text Messages not working...

I have an Honor 5x I bought from Amazon, and I can't seem to send text messages (standard text messages). I can receive them fine, but they won't send for some reason. I exchanged the phone via Amazon, however I am still having the same issue.
BTW - I am using my phone with T-Mobile service....is anyone else experiencing this and is there a workaround?
Thanks in advance!

I'm on AT&T, so I don't know for sure, but check your APN settings.
A quick google search gave me the T-Mobile APN's, double check yours. If you need to find it, it's usually under SIM Cards, 'your sim card settings (yours can be 1 or 2)', and then Access Point Names.
I can't post outside links because I'm a new user- if you google "t-mobile apn settings android", you'll probably find something.

Unknown Number showing after flash xiaomi.eu miui 11 latest stable ROM

Hello everyone,
I'm having this problem where whenever someone calls me, even though I have them in my contacts, it only displays "unknown number", and does not show the number. When I, however, go into messenger app, it shows the correct contact details
My device is the mi 10 global version that i bought in the Netherlands, the bootloader is obviously unlocked and this is a fresh install.
ROM is xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10_V11.0.25.0.QJBCNXM_v11-10
I also tried the new MIUI 12 ROM that's out for the mi 10 and I thought it was something wrong with the ROM since its still BETA, but I have the same issue on the above mentioned ROM.
-I've already tried turning off the "make calls using WLAN" option in the sim settings and after reboot still the same issue.
-I've also tried disabling carrier check using "*#*#86583#*#*" and restarting the device, but still no luck. I've also tried re-enabling the carrier check and restarting and still no luck.
This issue is a small one but really annoying as I don't know who is calling me at the time.
Someone please HELP!!

I can also confirm that I've turned on all permissions associated with phone and dialer and the issue is still the same.

I can confirm that after flashing miui_UMIEEAGlobal_V11.0.12.0.QJBEUXM_88a2514f92_10.0 I have caller id functionality, meaning that when someone calls me, their name and number pops up. But now my phone is single SIM and I need double SIM and caller id functionality.
So where is the problem???
Yes you are correct. Since the chance (calling 3G instead of calling with 4g or volte) it solved my issue. I bet it solves yours too. Its under network > mobile network> Sim that had the issue and disable calling 4g
See screenshot
I opened a newtopic and now i found this, i have the same problem to mi 10 with miui 12.0.1 global.
Nothing works for me .i checked everything but unknown caller id is here...
It was the 4g. In 3g no problem .
When they will fix it ? Does anyone know ?
I think the issue is caused due to a combination. In miui 11 there is not the problem. In a custom there is the issue. Anyway. It should be addressed to the developer's.
I am facing the same issue on a POCO X3 NFC, strangely only for one of the two used SIMs.
Deactivating "4G Calling" solves the issue, though this is not a solution but a workaround. I don't want to miss the "Enhanced 4G" / VoLTE features, so what's the deal with this problem, which seems to be a general Xiaomi issue?
You could try to use True Phone from play store, google dialer is really bad

Doesn't have to do with the dialer, but I have already found the solution:
[GUIDE] How To Fix The "Unknown" Caller ID Issue With "4G Calling" Enabled
Wipe app cache and restart the phone. It's a known problem on android itself. It should sort itself out in time but if it doesn't just boot to fastboot and wipe cache ONLY.

Maybe it could be the carrier problem or this phone is not allowing it!
in sim settings there is an option which you need to turn on for allow internet on calls.
