Exporting a system image from Lenovo tablet to a flash memory - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I am a teacher in an informal school working with children with special needs. I am using 20 Lenovo tablets which are all exactly the same model Lenovo TB-X103F. I have managed to set up one of the tablets fully including the apps, users (adult user, child user) and customization for the apps to be in specific folders on the desktop.
The problem is that setting up all the tablets to be the exact same is very hard and I will need to repeat it on many tablets in several schools I work with but all use the same tablet model. There are lots of stuff that need to be done. So I was thinking if there is a tool that would help me export a system image which includes not only the applications, but it even includes the settings, folders, users, and customization to a flash memory. I have tried some apps but they are all limited to contacts, images, and apps without including folders, customization, and settings.
Could you please suggest any solution? and if you suggest a tool, can you please as well tell me what would happen if the tool fails to work, for example, would I still be able to restore the tablet to factory settings afterwards?
Regards,
George
P.S: dear moderators, if this is not the right category for this post, please help me moving it to the right one and apologies in advance.

Erasing contacts in flash (and a Naked Woman on my XDA!!!)

made you look
now to the q in hand
I brought my xda second hand - the previuos owner had saved all his contact info on 'permanant save' so when I restore from 'permanent save' I get all his contact details.
How can i delete his contact stuff off 'permanently save'
Hard reset :?
roko: that doesn't erase those
Jacko: made look ))))))) if you want to get rid of his contacts, check the box in permanent save and click ok, your contact will be copies to rom and his contacts will be synchronized with them. Now you need to uncheck the box again, thus erasing all contacts in ROM.
Now you have nothing in ROM and all yours and his contacts in RAM. Delete them and re-synchronize from desktop (make backup copy in case your activesync desides that it will replace desktop with mobile device )
Changed the subject, santizing the ROM, adding files
Made me look, and I've added a little to the subject...
I must admit it was the first message I read, so the strategy worked. However: this is a very busy forum, and if we are to use it to find information in such a way that we're not all re-inventing wheels all the time, we do need somewhat descriptive subjects.
On the topic of ROM contacts: this point was driven home to me as well when I copied someone's ROM. Maybe we need a tool to sanitize ROM images, to be incorporated in the XDA ROM Image Tool ?
Has anyone (possibly with platform builder experience) taken a good look at these images, and determined what's where? I wouldn't mind being able to add files (SMS fix, etc) to an image. Maybe we could even create an XDA-developers special edition ROM...
Hiya there sorry about the description wont happen again
Jacko: made look ))))))) if you want to get rid of his contacts, check the box in permanent save and click ok, your contact will be copies to rom and his contacts will be synchronized with them
>this part is fine
. Now you need to uncheck the box again, thus erasing all contacts in ROM.
>whenever you go to 'permanant save the box is always unchecked anyway kinda confused on this part
do you mean save all my info on desktop - delete all my contacts and then save on to permanent save thus saving no info... thus having nothing in rom (sorry about the thus's its late in the evening)

[Q] Android Data Recovery

Hello
I have accidently overwritten some photos on my Google Nexus 7 and would love to get them back. I`ve tried various recovery programs on Windows but none of them can read my tablet in MTP mode and I can`t connect it in mass storage mode. I have read that one way is to make a VHD image via RAW of the hard drive onto the pc, where the recovery programs can access it. The trouble is I I think have to root the tablet which i don`t really want to do
1) Is there a way of creating this file without rooting?
2) Does anyone know of a recovery program that uses MTP?
3) If I really HAVE to root, whats the least destructive way of doing this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Android operating system has changed the entire concept of smart phones and given it a new dimension. Now people know, how different is to use an Android smart phones than any other smart phones. With so many exciting new apps being developed every now and then, it is really very hard to lash yourself to use only one or two. Now, your Android phone is turned more like a storage device with lots of snapped pictures, audio & video files, latest exciting apps, mails, messages and so on. In situations like this, losing or accidentally deleting file is a common issue that most of the Android users face.
I used an app called Undelete once at it worked well.

Please help me!!

Well I tell to see if anyone can help me, my intention was to put another application and delete the source and ContactsProvider.apk Contacts.apk, and we the fastide, but after that I could put several applications playstore, no I will I guess that worked on the original. I searched the applications and copying system / app and nothing on permits and either but not if they support applications with rom, the problem is that is a Mi3 clone and do not serve me the rom original Mi3, and as not rom that I want to try and repair leads without flashing. Also after this I stopped mobile data works, I guess I have something to do those applications. to see if I echais cable.
Upload a photo with the data you have the mobile
edit: sms not enter me, I'm desperate for God ..
The chipset is a MT6589
anyone? someone with a v5 4.3 miui can copy the "app" folder, which is inside system at the root of mobile, so would have the corresponding applications to this version of miui and android, at least it is no longer that more test
thanks

Decrypting Whatsapp DB (crypt8) questions

Hello guys,
this is my first post on this forum (sorry for my poor English, I'll try to write my best), and I'd really like to ask you some advice about my situation.
I used to have an Android 2.3.3 device and Whatsapp installed on it, regularly updated (I still have it, but I'm not using it).
Almost a month ago I bought a new device, with Android 4.4.4 installed, and I immediately put WhatsApp on it.
Before removing SD from the old phone, i saved my backup file OLD.db.crypt8, in order to let the "new" whatsapp restore my messages. Unfortunately, a month passed before i could be able to think about restoring my old messages.
Thus, i have accumulated (?) a month of messages, and i "backup-ed" them in a MIDDLE.db.crypt8 file.
I already managed to decrypt the "middle" db.crypt8 file (extracting the key file from my android 4.4.4), but don't know how to decrypt the OLD.db.crypt8 file.
OLD, in fact, comes from Android 2.3.3, as said, and i got no key file
My final goal is, after decrypting all three databases (OLD, MIDDLE and "NEW" - provided that NEW is the database i'm "growing up" on my phone at the moment), merging the three databases in an only database (and this is possible with the XDA guide i already have read)
Can anyone help me?
Thank you very much
Up! Please help
No chance for me?

[No Gapps][F-Droid] How to backup Settings, User Dictionaries, Blocked Numbers?

Hi all, I am running Lineage OS (but my question is not necessarily Lineage-specific) *without* Gapps (I'm using F-Droid only) on a rooted device.
I am looking for a way to backup (on file) the Settings, Blocked Numbers, and User Dictionaries of my device. The idea is to have a backup such that:
1) I can import smoothly on my PC
2) I can re-import smoothly everything on a fresh install on the same device
3) if I change device (and maybe OS version), I can still re-import manually single files (so, maybe not the full settings, but the user dictionary and blocked numbers yes for example)
The TWRP backup is hence not suitable, because it performs a full device backup.
It would be enough for me to know the location of the databases where Lineage stores such info (my phone is rooted, I can grab those DBs if I know where they are).
I tried Oandbackup but it looks definitely overkill, it always gives me a bunch of error, and plus I found very confusing to decide what com.provider.omg.wtf.orly.kthxbye to backup and what not
Any idea?
Thanks in advance ^^
Up! Even just the user dictionaries would be very appreciated!
