3.5mm Headphone and Charger Cable Solution - OnePlus 6T Accessories

Incase anyone wants to listen to their headphones and charge at the same time, I have these and they work
I tested ones with built in DAC's and it doesn't work, but these cheap 8 dollar ones do.

I know they don't say that they work with One plus but I have these two and have no issues. And no this isn't a sponsored post or something, just wanted to share so no one else has to waste money.

Are you able to check to see if they work with stereo headsets (4 pole 3.5mm)? Both listings have an identical photo showing a 4 pole.... But I don't put much faith in it.

Would iPhone headphones count? The ones with the inline mic?

I think so, never used them before in my life. Is the plug 4 pole? If so it should be sufficient

Ok so I dont have and with that many poles, but I did test both of the adapters cables with iPhone headphones (3 pole) and did a stereo sound test video and they both passed. hope this helps?

Another update, these cables seem to charge the phone super super slow which freakin sucks -_-. It seems to be enough to keep the phone from draining too much, but certainly no where even close to quick charge. Someone needs to make something specifically for the 6t!

I'm also looking out for such a cable, I have no access to bluetooth in the vehicles i drive ( either line in, or cassette adaptor to headphone jack) and in most cases its not practical to add bluetooth adaptors ( power cable routing etc)

Since phone makers are dropping the headphone jack a stupid move why don't they just put two typc-c ports on a phone. One on the top and one on the bottom. Really many like to charge while using headphones.

It wouldn't make sense to make more room in the phone for other hardware only to put another input to take it's place.

USB type c inputs look small to me.

So I've noticed something weird. I thought they were working but it looks like it's not supplying enough voltage to charge with these cables. Im still working on finding something that actually works :/

I've had decent success with Bluetooth FM transmitters in this case. Old car as well, and while the sound quality isn't as great as I'd like, it's definitely usable.

Anyone know if Dash charging will work with these types of adapters?

Seems there is one on Amazon with a review that works

Looking For The Perfect Headphones!

Need some type of earphones that have a over the ear holder
I have some Airdrives earphones that I use with my iPhone but for some reason when I plug in a usb to 3.5 adapter into G1 I can hear fine but the mic on the headset doesnt work (person on other line cant hear me). The earphones that came with G1 wont stay in my ears. Have you ever seen a HTC compatible USB connector type stereo headphones that have some type of a over the ear holder and a mic for phone calls?
I use the HTC wired remote control and a set of Bang & Olufsen headphones. This arrangment works very well...

My WING came with one, my G1 did not, are you sure yours had a CHARGER adaptor?? This looks good and sells on eBay for $5.50 total. Search for : HTC Touch Pro Diamond mini USB, 3.5mm Audio Adapter
Shouldn't HTC just put this $5.50 adaptor in the phone? Unbelievable!
Combine with with a carcharger and last.fm & streamfurious on your phone and VOILA you have SIRIUSXM except with thousands of channels as long as you are within cellphone Edge/3G service.
For a headphone only option (not recommended as you drain your battery so fast its not even funny) you can try this one for 45 cents SHIPPED:
Search for: 3.5mm USB Audio Adapter for HTC Touch Diamond PPC-6800 on eBay and the seller is gpslot
Go it Ultimate Ears!
Is the 3.5mm headphone adapter an original HTC one?
RC E100 for the G1?
Hihi, I recently bought the HTC RC E100 (http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=137320). On that site it says that G1 works with it. But it doesn't? I tried it, and sound still comes out of the speakers.
Now it said that I need a driver from the disc or from the HTC site. I tried to install that, but it says that the phone is already updated and needn't update anymore.
Does anyone else have this headset, and have it working on their G1's? Thanks!
edit: Well upon researching, apparently it doesn't work. Stupid misleading site is misleading.
There was a set of headphones that came with the G1, you should see if you can get those or see if tmobile will give you some for free if they didnt come with yours.
I was almost tempted to purchase these or get the doopad ones(rc-w100) off amazon for a little cheaper. I was wondering if the g1 will even be able to have this function through the ext.usb? I know the drivers for winmo phones won't work but is there even the slightest bit of possibilities?
I know A2DP is comming for bluetooth but is there going to be an AVRCP profile also?
Apple In-Ear Headphones on Dream G1
Anyone had a chance to try it out?
I can't seem to find a single post anywhere talking about what the music quality is like or whether any advanced features like volume control work or whether calls work using the microphone.
Side story: I went into the Apple store to try it out and the store nazi said I could not try them on due to hygiene reasons. Fair enough, but he then even declined taking them out of the packaging so that I could just handle them and talk into it on a call to see if it worked. So instead I handled the box instead, ShopSavvy scanned it and then accidentally dropped it onto the somewhat dirty floor. Oops.

3.5mm headphone adaptor...

Has anyone tried a mini-usb to 3.5mm headphone adaptor yet?
I used one with my Kaiser that worked fine. It'd be great to hear what experiences people have had with various adaptors with the TP2.
i got two adapters and they both work. one of them is just usb-stereo jack, the other one is usb -> Stereojack and 2 USB ports for charging and syncing.

Been using a mini usb to stereo jack adaptor for some time & works fine! Picked it up at Radio Shack in the States...
One thing worth noting is that there are two different sort of mini-USB to 3.5mm jack adaptors - the standard mini-USB and the HTC ExtUSB. I did notice a difference between the types last night while playing with the FM radio application last night. The ExtUSB type will let you use any earphones as an FM antenna, the standard mini-USB won't, probably missing an essential line, I guess.

I havent found a way to listen to radio without headphones at mo. would be gould if you could as ity drains my bat sat her at work.
I'm going for this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00195I3X6
I had the same one with my Kaiser, and it lasted for ages (sold it with my Kaiser though).
The reason I'm going for it is because it supports charging while listening to music (good for in car or when doing power-hungry wifi radio). Only issue with this is that it makes the music noisy when power is plugged in, so it's not good for quiet tracks.
The HTC a300 looks good for desktop use, but doesn't seem very portable (a bit big maybe).
with this adaptor:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/3-in-1-h...-with-extusb-for-htc-mobile-phones-p19259.htm
as it shows it has a USB port, from a while back i have an in car charger which was used to charge my ipod via a FM transmitter, the FM transmitter had the same port on the bottom. My question is if i buy this adaptor could i use the in car charger with this to charge my TP2??

About to test it once charged. It does have a mic and according to instructions can make and recive calls.
Rubbish! I've just received my one from amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00195I3X6), and while it works fine, it's quite big & feels cheap.
The one I had with my Kaiser I think was actually this one, mentioned above: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/3-in-1-h...-with-extusb-for-htc-mobile-phones-p19259.htm, which looks similar, but is actually a fair bit smaller.
Oh well, it'll have to do for now!

2-in-1 [USB Mini/3.5 MM] adapter

So I just purchased this handy little adapter which takes the USB port on the bottom of the G1 and turns it into a USB Mini jack and a 3.5 MM headphone jack. Why go to all this trouble? So I can charge AND play music at the same time
I bought this little piece of wonder off of Amazon for $6 including shipping, and it arrived in 3 business days. I'm really glad I bought it! Here's the review I posted on Amazon:
This is truly a neat little device. I often want to play music in my room over my T-Mobile G1, and it's a battle of charge versus play. I have to make sure that if I do play music, I'll have time afterwords to charge back up. Not the case anymore! I'm able to play music and charge my phone at the same time.
The adapter is very compact for what it does; it looks much bigger in the pictures than it actually is. It's about the size of a quarter, and a little longer width-wise. Sound quality is great; compared to the stock adapter that comes with the G1, I found that bass frequencies are carried much more better and with a little more "oompf". I found a lot more power for my system, and it works great.
The build quality is what you would expect; plastic build with very solid adapter ports. I don't expect it to break at all. The phone charges at the same rate of speed as normal, even with playing music. The port that plugs into the phone is the proprietary port that the G1 has, and the "out" USB port is your typical mini-USB port.
Overall, it's a great product, and a must have for all G1 users!

Did you try switching earbuds? Haha sounds simple...but I have this really bad luck with audio devices, that eventually everyone I have I break the soldering points that connect the jack to the circuit board, and I always loose an ear of sound. It's just odd...but that could be it as well.

I bought this and it works with every rom I've tried. Cyanogen, JAC, JF.
I also needed an extension so I could hard wire my charger and line in behind my car dash with only one lead showing and the HTC adaptor has about an inch of cable between the EXTUSB and the adaptor itself. I hunted high and low but could only find one company who could do it and it were these guys.
Jays Earphones
I want one of these but it's much too thick for what I wanted it for (I only want music), Isn't there one that has only mini USB to 3.5 mm? I thought I had seen one a while ago.
I got one made by HTC when I got my Wing a couple years ago. It works great on my G1 and my MT. It is super handy to have it you listen to a lot of music
got a link where I could get one?
def. getting this tonight
Tried this on a friends G1 (stock T-mobile firmware lastest updates) and it does not come up with a headset icon like it does on my touchdiamond2. Does this mean it does not work or is the headset icon just for when you have a microphone attached?
i've noticed on the HTC one that the 3.5mm headset jack doesnt work. you need to use the adapter cable that came with the phone and plug it into the headphone port on the htc adapter.

When using this on a G1, if you plug a headset with microphone into the 3.5mm jack, does the microphone work on calls? I've read mixed reviews about this on Amazon and wondering if anyone has had experiences? Thanks,

I've actually been wondering this myself.
I personally use a Belkin cable I got at walmart back in like, 2009 (lol) but I have the opposite problem, when I so much as touch the cable it stops playing music.
It's a phone problem. Others have been complaining about their headphones doing the same thing. I think its a design issue, but if you find the right cable, there shouldn't be a problem. I heard that gold plated connectors work pretty well. I myself have a pair of earbuds with a gold plated connector , and I can't say I've had any problems with it.
That being said, I doubt you'll need to dish out $10+ to buy a monster cable. I have non-gold plated connectors that work just as well. I've used cheap $1 cables from amazon or ebay and they seem to work fine.

that's actually a very well made cable with high quality build unlike the monster cables. Monster are average quality at best with ridiculous prices. V Moda are high quality and priced appropriately.

Bad audio quality with earphones

Hi,
I just purchased this phone used a few days ago, and all is perfect apart from one issue.
The sound with earphones is unbalanced. I can only hear vocals through the right channel and the left channel is much quieter. I have of course tried different headphones/earphones. I have captured audio playback from the phone and played it back on my PC to make sure it wasn't a settings/software problem, and the recorded audio sounds fine. I have tried two different CM13 roms, both with same issue.
I think the issue may be either the USB C to 3.5mm adapter, the USB C port or CM13. I have ordered 2 new adaptors (seller didn't include one), one being the official LeEco adaptor and the other being a 'Galopar' adaptor which is the one I'm using atm. I'm going to install the devices stock ROM to 100% rule out software issue.
It will be a huge shame if it is the USB port which is broken, I will have to return the phone Anyone else encountered this issue or am I alone?
Sound through the LeEco adapter is great. I ordered some non-LeEco ones and it was awful - unbalanced, muted and not clear. That is probably your problem too.

Ah that's good news I look forward to receiving the official adapter. I can no longer worry about the USB C port :victory:
Here's a link to the official adapter I ordered. I assume it's official as it has the LeEco logo

Here's a link to the adapter I currently own, which is probably faulty. Another thing to note, when plugging in a 3.5mm device to the adapter, my phone goes a bit mad and thinks I'm spamming the mic/google voice assistant

Will update when the adapters arrive
One little tip - the official one is quite weak at the point where the cable joins the USB plug. Be careful about it bending too much. It is liable to bend double if you have it poking out of your pocket, as the weight of the headphone cable pulls it down towards the ground. My first one went bad after just a couple of weeks. With the replacement, I have reinforced it at the weak point with some white electrical tape. Seems to have done the trick, but I am also being more careful with it. Same problem with the LeEco CDLA earbuds cable too, btw.

Ah, that's a shame. If my 1st LeEco adapter doesn't last long, I may just buy a pocket bluetooth receiver like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=B42DWW853VK2THMMDP4P
Thank you for your suggestion with the electrical tape

Have read good things of this Griffin one, I'm planning on picking one up this Xmas:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01H...&keywords=griffin+bluetooth+headphone+adapter
I have also ordered some Skullcandy bluetooth in-ears. Think wireless is the way to go for daily mobile use. I'm not going to blame LeEco too much for that either - have had a string of headphone cable failures with wired headphones on other devices in the past too, even with fairly expensive headphones (e.g. Shure).
Edit: I see from your previous post that you are in the UK. They have the Griffin one at Argos, so I'm going to buy one there I think - I live in Japan but coming home for Xmas, and Brexit pound makes for cheap shopping with my Yen

Think I might go Argos next week I would love some wireless earphones, but I don't think any exist that will sound as good as my SE315s :crying: I'm on my third cable for these lol
I feel the same way about my Marshall Majors. Unfortunately unlike the Major II, they don't have a detachable cable so I have to baby them. Have stopped using them out of the house.

Jest curious, if you have to connect the headphone to the BlueTooth receiver, why don't you connect it to the phone directly? It should sound much better. This device only makes sense if you are trying to stream music from your notebook.

Because, as I said, the usb adapter dongle is liable to cable failure.
