What can I do to unlock my att s9 plus? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

I was sold what I thought was an unlocked samsung s9 plus from att. I tried to unlock it through their means and found out the person who originally bought the phone still owes money on it. Is there anything I can do?

[Q] Unlock Methods?

Hi guys! I recently won Samsung's Galaxy Note Studio contest and I will be getting an At&t Galaxy Note for free The only problem is I'm on T-Mobile and I would like to know if there are any FREE unlock methods? I mean I'll pay $24.99 on Cell Unlock, but I'd rather not. Has anyone unlocked by calling At&t directly? Also, are there any DIY methods?
I heard there was a method you can unlock and use T-Mobile's 4g speeds? Is it reliable? Should I just do that? So many questions. Anyways, since I don't have At&t, they offered me a $299 check. What do you guys think? Should I take the phone, root it, unlock it, ETC, or take the check?!
Thanks for your help!

Take the phone, whether or not you use it, you can sell a brand new note for more than 300. As for unlocks, if you do a quick search, there's a couple threads and I think the cheapest I saw was $8. There's a T-mobile modem that seems to do decently, but I have no experience with it as I'm on at&t so I'd search for that too.
Many answers are found in previous posts, I'm sure you can find them. Also If you don't want the note, I'll give you 300 for it I can always use a spare.
Haha, thanks! But I will hold on to it for a while... lol
If I can't get it to work for T-Mobile Ebay or Craigslist it is!
You're getting a $550+ device for free. Pay the $25 to unlock it. You will not be sorry. If you then don't like it you can sell the unlocked device for more than $550.
Congrats on winning the contest.
You can flash a Tmo modem after unlocking. Currently you have to pay to get it unlocked. I called AT&T for the unlock and was told several different times that since it is exclusive to AT&T you have to wait 6 months for the free unlock.

No, I drew something in the Note Studio, although mine was clearly NOT the best, I somehow won! A lot of people did a lot better.
Take the device, sell it, get the note coming to tmo soon.

[Q] Can anyone help unlocking Lumia 920?

I am currently with T-mobile and accidentally bought a "locked" Lumia 920 to AT&T from ebay.
Because I was short on money I even bought one with cracked screen but I cannot use it with T-mobile...
I visited AT&T, T-mobile store and they won't unlock it and since I am not a AT&T customer, I can't ask them either.
I tried downloading multiple softwares and other variety of things but seems no success...
Is there anyone who can generate unlock code for me? That would be really appreciated.
I am facing similar problem. At&t said the customer to whom the phone(imei) is linked can ask for the unlock code no one else. And my seller is such a jerk he simply ignored my requests to help me. As the servers are down no third party code provider is in position to help.

Search "CellUnlock" with Google.

There are a host of stores online that will sell you an unlock code for 50 USD or less. You can also call AT&T and tell them you bought for your daughter or son or even yourself to use while you are overseas for month. You need it unlocked so you can use it on a network over there. They will give you a code as long as the phone is not on a contract.
Unlock code for AT&T devices are pretty cheap in fleabay. Paid just around US$3.50. Worth it to get out of hassle and unlock easily.
Rogers device are around $15 online.

I ordered it from ebay and might receive in on the 22nd or 23rd, and i am not a customer so i am looking for another place to have it unlocked. But since you said they can do it for a price as well, can i just go to any local O2 store and ask for it? That would be easier for me instead of doing it on my own.

Galaxy s6 edge plus sold

Today I sold my galaxy it was my worst purchase that I ever make. The phone was totally the best of all but I never understand why in us you must buy a phone with carrier and the unlocked phones are difficult to find.

I believe Verizon sells all of their phones unlocked (as long as you ask for an unlocked phone). If Verizon doesn't, I'm pretty sure AT&T does. Now if you are talking about the bootloader being unlocked, T-Mobile's S6 Edge + is bootloader unlocked.

Yes but only in Verizon I can use other sim from other country. If I will buy T-Mobile I will have unlocked bootloader but I will have problem with other sim

They only come unlocked for gsm use for voice and then you would have to set the right apn. For CDMA sim cards you still need to unlock the phone like most others. The fcc requires verizon to sell their phones unlocked but it's only for GSM. Anything else you have to unlock specifically.

Unlock an AT&T S9+ from samsung.com fully paid

The ATT unlocking website does not recognize my IMEI. I guess that is because i bought it from samsung.com. My number is not under a contract. So how do i go about getting this unlocked? From samsung, att or will i have to purchase a third party unlock code (which third party do i use?)? Thanks.
Well if u paid full for the phone from samsung it should be unlocked to use with any network.
you can unlock from att. Just wait a week or two for samsung to sent the EMEI to ATT. Or do what I did, contact ATT over facebook and explained that you paid in full. It may take several tries with different rep, but you will eventually get one rep that will open a ticket for you.

I am curious as to why you bought the ATT version vs the standard unlocked version?

I bought my att s9+ from Samsung.com and I got the imei from Samsung customer service before the phone was even delivered to me. Went To att device unlock site, entered my imei and had the code emailed to me the same morning before my phone came in. Sim unlocked it on first boot! I would submit the request again if you haven't bought a 3rd party unlock yet cause it's free from att.

I got mine and of April it was on sale for $639. Traded in my backup s7 (I'm coming from note 8) for an extra $200 so $466.**after tax was my total. Plus I should have a Dex pad coming any day now. (Have a Dex station already I only used twice, for sale if anyone interested lol)
You can do it 3rd party faster. I had the same problem with a note 8. It takes about 3 months for it to show up on ATT unlock site. Easier to pay 10$ on ebay and be done with it.
Att website work when the phone is not under contract, but if you still owed money on it better use a third party service..we had a great experience with this guy samattunlock.com
