Ok, so I bought a Chromebook thinking since they now support Android apps the are finally usable for me. Only to get surprised that the chrome book that I bought cannot get the google play store. I updated it and even tried to change to the canary channel on developer mode but with no luck can you guys help me plz

I currently live in Beijing and just recently purchased a ZTE U795. It's a formidable phone, and quite cheap too.
I've gotten everything to work well, found a ROM on some Chinese site and managed to install it. The only problem is that I can't get the market to work, or Google Play for that matter. I thought perhaps that through a VPN I could manage to connect but VPN doesn't work.
Really I have two questions, is there a replacement to the built-in VPN system, is there some sort of app that can replace the default VPN system?
Or, is there some sort of work around to not being able to use Google Play on Chinese Androids?
What I've tried:
Modded Market
Market Enabler
Google Play + Google Frameworks + Google Account Settings (This got me the closest, I started putting my e-mail in, but it just wouldn't connect)

Just bought a 7 inch Kindle fire HDX and its a very nice tablet that I have managed to sideload clash of clans on. I can not find a way to load my old town from my old android tablet however. I have tried installing all the stuff for google play services using ES file explorer and all installed fine. Gmail works fine. when I try to load my old town using google plus sign in(only method I could find in game) I get a message that google play services are not supported on this device and to contact the manufacture. Any help getting around this would be appreciated otherwise my return date is early July and I will have to return it.
Unfortunately, the only way to make *that* work is for you to full root the tablet and load the Gapps properly.
Been using coc on my kindle as a clan member and test account. I've almost caught up to my real all account

Ok, used towelroot and then went thru and installed all the gapps on android cowboy to make gmail work and have google+ installed and working with no issues. Have signed in to both gmail and +. When I go to clash of clans and try to do the G+ sign in to load my town, I get a popup saying : Google Play Services
Google Play Services, which some of your applications rely on, is not supported by your device. Please contact the manufacture for assistance.
Any ideas? Guessing I am missing a module that talks between G+ and G+ sign in but no clue which one.

Added the google play store tonight and I am in, I can finally retire my old OG kindle fire that weighs 300lbs. Thanks for all your work making this possible since it would take me forever to go to each thread I read and thank people. If I can be of any help with what worked for me I will try.

what are the steps to follow
bcoz I also got the same message "Google Play Services, which some of your applications rely on, is not supported by your device. Please contact the manufacture for assistance."

after side loading all the google apps listed at android cowboy to add a google account didnt help, I went back and added google + I could sign in but still got the message. dug around some more on android cowboy and went to androidcowboy.com/android-apk-files-download/ and downloaded the play store apk and google login service. i then installed Play store and rebooted without opening it, did the same wiht login service then rebooted. went back in and opened clash of clans and got the message do you want to load xxxx's village you will lose your current one. clicked yes and bam I was in. not for sure that I needed login service as I didnt test before installing but it was late and I was ready to sleep.
I hope this helps and works for someone as I didnt document anything as I went along so all of this is from memory. I was rooted with Towelroot already and had made a backup with titanium to be safe and of course used toolkit to disable OTA

I'm asking you for HELP because I lost hope how to fix my problem with my new Asus Zenfone 5 on my own. I bought phone from China - Spemall.com (good and safe website). Phone is brilliant and very well made all is perfect except one thing - it was no play store installed. All other phones and tablets from them had play store installed this is first time when I had device without it.
I have this phone for two days now I was trying almost everything (in my opinion everything) to install both first Google Play Services and after that Play Store.
I downloaded both latest versions apk and first installed services and after play store but when trying to tap in play store icon all what I getting is
---Unfortunately Google play services has stopped.
I was cleaning data, cache, reinstalling both apps and even I did few times factory reset but nothing. I was still getting famous massage --- Unfortunately Google play services has stopped. Whatever I press Google settings or play store it will always end up in this same way.
Phone is not rooted!!!
I was using guides from you tube because that was easy start and you must start somewhere and sometimes when problem is little you are able to fix it but this time is different and my knowledge and you tube is not enough that's why I asking you guys to help me in this difficult moment.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks for you help I did installed this before but did not liked and after watching you tube I found how to install: mobile 1 ---- Aptido and Amazon store (Amazon is tragically bad with few apps free).
Mobile 1 and Aptido are very good I must find out what I did before because you tube does not work I had Google play services installed and I was working few things on you tube just to check if they work.
Still looking for solution to get Google play services and Google play store to work .

There is(icon like bag / ASUS (written) ) but its only ChINESE.. you can find so aplications and install them... i installet outlook.com, viber, metatrade, display test, google maps,
its working you can install aplications.. BUT FU KIN ChINESE....

Go to this forum, got method to change frm CN ver to WW ver. In pg 70 onwards. Must go to asus.com singapore site to download the official firmware.
Meanwhile, enjoy this beautiful phone!

I use Zenfone 5(LTE) with kitkat for a while and I found a problem with Google Play Services / Open GMail/ and other apps , there is a problem with this version, I seen a error messages "Unfortunately, Google Play Services has been closed", / Unfortunately, Gmail has stopped", I don't know that its come from Google or on ASUS firmwares. If you have seen this error? i Think this Firmware already infected with new virus, i hope someone help me to solve this problem

I have same problem and I CAN'T FIND A METHOD

at first, sorry for my bad english
I currently can not login to Google on my Nexus 5.
I had these problems before with Paranoid Android, thats why i came back to stock.
This was a few weeks ago, im on 4.4.4 now, rooted and a few tweeks like xposed installer and gravity box installed.
Before yesterday i had no problems, but than i installed an app called freedom.
I couldn't believe that it works, so i tested it.
A few hours later i recognized that i can not login to google, so google now, the play store, etc doesnt work.
I tried to log out and login again, but it doesnt work.
I deinstalled freedom, but that doesnt changed something.
Does anyone else got some same problems like this with freedom?
Does someone know what i can do if i dont want to hard reset my Nexus ?
I need a little help with my sons new Fire HD7,
I have managed to install google play to be able to get the apps that he likes but they won't add to the childs profile, only apps i download from amazon app store will add, he's driving me nuts for games that he likes but cant get once the tablet is on his profile, any help would be great, also if i could get "samsung kids mode" to install that would be a lot handier as he knows that inside out.

I'm running into the same issue. My son just got one of these for Christmas. And I'm right where you are - installed Play Store and downloaded apps, but can't get them into his profile. I'm assuming it's because of where they are saved or something to that effect.
I'm also having an issue with the fact that Chromecast (Google Home) doesn't work inside of Netflix and Disney Jr. apps. His older cheapy tablet can Chromecast fine, but that tablet's battery sux...
I'm willing to wager that I'm going to have to root and install CM or another custom ROM in order to get any decent functionality out of this Fire.
Keep me posted on any progress you've made, and I'll do the same ?
