Getting new (facebook) messenger update - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can i get new update with new design ?
I install Messenger 192.0.0.25.101, but i don't have new design..
Some devices have it, other don't have it.
Some of my friends received this update, but after a few hours the update disappeared. But not everyone.

I had received the new update also it happened accidently by facebook servers... As they were testing the app the new update should officially drop after Christmas

Thank you, very much!
I have one question. If someone was backup(apk file or data, or both)the new update, would that mean we could use it now? (with updates turned off)

as far as I know this is actually server-side so you have to wait until you are "unlocked" by the server

In the newer Messenger versions, the "Save Photos" option was removed.
Even when installing an older messenger version where had it this option, it is missing.
But with a modified APK, this option has not yet been removed to me.
Maybe it's not fully server-side or ?!

And I'll try.
Does this mean that the release of the new design is not a mistake?

Okay, it just disappeared 5 minutes later dafuq
If you look at the comments in the app store, fb may have pulled it back cuz of that

If you uninstall a messenger and then install it again, have you got the new design again?

Whether or not you get the re-design is entirely server-side on Facebooks end. They have stated you won't need to update the app at all, it'll just be enabled for your account in the background and then you will have it.
There's no way to get the re-design through an updated app as of yet. They do roll back some people who get it when they shouldn't.
You just have to wait. It's rolling out in waves.

Buggy Facebook?

Well for the past few weeks, if I try to update my status via the facebook App, I get the message:

The only way to get "around" this is to log out, and log back in. But having to do that each time is beginning to get on my wick.
Any fix for this chums?
microsoft swears they are working on it.
Just another reason I use android daily now on my hd2. Facebook on windows mobile really is only available via the internet explorer or opera, twitter seems to work quite well though

Just tested mine and it seems to be working here? Takes a while to update the status but definitely working.
The problems which I have been facing were as follows:
1. With the "previous" version (1.48.405.2?) of the official ROM, though I had checked the box "store password" I would have to re-enter username and pwd everytime I went to facebook via Sense shortcut. Very annoying
2. Lately, since the update to 3.14.405.2 I also can't update the status, the only status update I got was "Hobo2009 installed Facebook for Windows Phone"

Windows Phone 7.8 - Store update notification

I'm new to the WP, came from Android ) with a new Nokia Lumia 800 7.8 (OS version: 1750.823.8858.12460) out of the box. I install some apps from the windows store over my phone, but when an update version of an app it's out I cant see a notification or something so I have to go in store and check app by app to see if I get some updates...
My question is: it's another way to get auto notification like in Android or in Windows for PC??? It's drive my crazy to check app by app to see if it's something new... or I'm skipping an option to auto check for updates?!?
Thanks!
I've always had this problem with my Lumia 800.
Before this phone, I had an LG Optimus 7, and that had no problems automatically checking the Marketplace for updates, and updating its live tile with the number of updated apps available.
So hmm no solution to make it work?

Just wait for update notifications, they will appear later. I doubt that you really need those updates so much that you cannot wait for 1-2 days. And I guess there is no way to check for updates manually except for checking every app.

Yes, it's pinned on the main screen. Why? This is the problem?

It's not the problem that I can't wait for 1 or 2 days it's just the thing that no matter how long I wait the update notification will not "pop up" so I discover that I have some new updates only by going in market and by mistake clicking on an Nokia app, for example and find out that a new version it's ready to download... and after this "revelation" I try to see if there are another app on my phone that need to be update so .. ta daaaa many more apps have an update.. but nothing in notification. So this is my problem, it's suck to check app by app to see if it's something new (including the Nokia collection).

Listfinite - beta wearable list app

I made a shopping list app that sync from your phone to your watch, I would love feedback on it because I do not know anyone other than myself that has an android wear device. The link to the app is https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....anylist&hl=en . Please keep in mind that this app is in beta and not all features have been implemented yet, as of now the watch is not syncing changes back to the phone and the watch U.I. is not awesome. The mobile part of the app can be run completely independent of a wearable device. To delete items simply swipe them off the screen, to create click the plus icon on the mobile app. Let me know if you have any questions/ suggestions! Thanks! I also posted this over in the android wear forum.

My link works.
I have tried it briefly. On the watch, it crashes for me most times. I get the list I created. In my sense, a grocery list. And when I try to launch it, it crashes.

Yeah, it finally installed. But you're right - it's all crashy. Can't even view my items. Great idea, but it needs to be debugged a bit.

Hey guys I thought I had subscribed to get updates on my thread but apparently I didn't. I looked at what you guys were saying and I don't know why its crashing like it is. I had it completely working before I uploaded to the store so maybe I uploaded an old apk or something. I will try to fix whatever is causing it to crash this weekend. Thanks for the feedback, I will update the thread when to let you know when it should be fixed!
Also I have quite a few other features planned for the app such as a list of favorited items to add with one click, but I will have to squeeze in updates around school and my internship. Let me know if you have any other comments/suggestions/complaints!
Bug Update
I fixed the bug that caused the application to crash on the wearable when you click on a category and updated my email preferences on the thread to get updates. I will push the update to the store now!

Hey sorry about the delay, I just got back in classes so I have been super busy. I found a bug in my manifest that was making multiple launcher icons, how were you trying to launch the app (through a wear launcher, or using the notification)? I'm attatching the apk here if you want to test it. It will also be included on the next update to the app on the play store.

I updated to today's OTA and now I only get headlines in Google now

I updated to today's OTA and now I only get headlines in Google now.
When I swipe left I see all the articles with only the headline and a photo. No short summary.
The "more articles" section it's not affected.a refresh or system restart does not change
anything.

It seems I should refer to it as "Google feed" now. No-one else has this issue?
The S9+ is not rooted. Some things were removed after I bought it using ADB, but that has been some time ago. I had at least 2 OTA's since. This happened after I accepted the last OTA (of this weekend).

Are you talking about OS OTAs or updates to the Google app? Your original and follow up post weren't clear enough for anyone to offer help. It does seem like there may be an issue with Google Feed with an easy fix though. Changing the wallpaper. Seems silly, but might help you.

Hi... I was referring to the OS OTA of last weekend.
The link you gave me is indeed what's happened to me. Thanks!!!
The new problem I'm facing now is that I'm now somehow tangled in a Samsung account which I refuse to make.
Maybe i need to remove that wallpaper manager to get one that is not linked to Samsung.
If I can't find that I'll be back.
Many thanks
EDIT:
I removed Samsung themes and installed some other app and my feeds have returned

Blocking/Disabling EMUI update

EMUI updater keeps popping up randomly requesting to update (usually once in morning and once at night) even though I've turned off :
All permissions
All notifications
All data usage access
Advanced write system settings
I've done this for the following:
Software Updater
Phone Manager
Even though I force stop Software Updater, it starts up again after some time (and does the popup)
Have I missed anything?

You realize that's for firmware updates right. You want those. Especially to fix bugs that people claim exist.

Same boat my friend, except I tried the new pie update and it has terrible issues with Bluetooth so I rolled back to Oreo,I don't want it to update ever again but I really want those notifications to stop!
I contacted Huawei support, they were useless, I will send a letter of complaint and see if that helps at all.

Man that sucks =( I feel for you
Every time they roll out a new update I have to cancel update prompt and force stop the the app every time I plug in my USB to charge.
Eventually the prompt will stop coming after like a month of rejecting it - until a new update is released...

Yup, it might come to rooting, but I hate the issues that surround it with apps hating it, googlepay, some games etc. Handy if Huawei just gave people a leave me a lone option
