Poco F1 vs Pocophone F1 - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Hello all!
What are the difference between the Pocophone F1 (=global) and the Poco F1 (=India).
I know that the 8GB can only be found in India and since I am planning to spend some holidays there, I was thinking to buy the Poco F1 there. However, I read that this version comes with many bloats and other ad/ pop up. Can I get rid of it? Can I install a clean version without the malware?
I am using the One plus one for almost 4 years now. Quite happy with it but battery life isn't as good as it used to be.
Thanks all for replying

you can flash global rom on poco.

Any other comments?

Poco and Pocophone are two different names
That's the difference

You can deblot poco via adb command ( search xda threads...very easy). Make sure that you are buying a model made after august and if possible buy the carbon fiber back model. For further add blocking you can use either blockada ( free) or adguard, both are pretty good.

Which poco to buy.
For not the store said that the global version has a weaker charger than indian also a youtuber said global one can't charger fast like indian while other indian report's the screen sensetive issue with bleeding in poco f1(indian version)but global one(pocophone f1)dont have such issue also they say that the global has better camera than poco f1 so,the store told me that ican return the phone for global one but its box was opened but the device has never started while the majority of poco profuct in store there is indian,i dunno and lost, which one i should buy,iam planning to have this phone for long time assuring that ican run anygame with good battery for the next 2 or three years, plz help me choosing the best!?

Why Xiaomi Poco F1 Armoured Edition Didn't launch on Mi Site & Flipkart ??
I wanted to buy it but I observed there were no 8GB 256GB ROM version on both the sites.
Recently I found 8GB 256GB ROM version on FLipkart in Coming Soon. But there is no Xiaomi Poco F1 Armoured Edition.
Does anybody has any update ?
I suspect this phone is a total fraud by Xiaomi.
They have either used low quality stuff or bought used and cheap materials like the touch panel, vibration component, speakers, etc i.e. those components which will not be tested by users vigorously in the variants except the top ones and most important thing is, they sent only the armoured edition to everyone.

they have done this past as well to reduce the traffic and consumer frustration. RN4black was made availabale only after first few sales. also they are doing this to make big name in the market. they are going for the 'phone with SD845 at INR 21k' impression. they'll soon launch the kevlar verient. i think they are not making any money on base varient. other 2 varients may be pulling some profit.
personally i went for 6/64gb and applied DIY carbon fiber skin

Torn between the RN5 Pro, and the Poco F1.

Hello all, I'm looking to purchase either of these phones, and was wondering which one to get. I understand the Poco F1 has better specs, but the main thing in which I'm interested in is, which one of them has an easier bootloader to unlock? And which one of them will have better ROM support? The RN5 Pro already has some good ROM'S available, is the same to be expected for the PocoF1? The RN5 unlocking process is long drawn, does the same hold true for Poco?
Thanks!
I am using poco F1. It can handle anything you throw at it so you won't be needing any kinda of improvement for now. Also for this specs there will be lot of Dev support. My suggestion is poco F1. Also btw 636 and 845 there is a lot of improvement in performance.

As both these phones are reported to have touch issues, go for Pocophone. It's better in every aspect. Bootloader unlock wait is 3 days.

Thanks a lot!
Rmn5 pro is a bit older and also two completely different segments.
I had the rmn5 pro 6gb version and did the upgrade to f1.
I honestly prefer everything about the rmn 5 pro over the f1 but the thing is the f1 is a high end spec phone, latest SOC, has treble support so customs roms Will flow with options and also it will be one of the most sold 845 phones on the market so yeah custom roms will for sure be massive and last but not least, it's the later of the 2 phones.
Pocophone is a new segment by xiaomi and xiaomi has to put focus on the phone with upgrades and fixes and what not. If they mess this up the pocophone will be the first and last.
The approach by xiaomi is genius as a oneplus competitor but for the way cheaper price. The aim in the future will for sure turn out as the oneplus did.

Get the f1 you wont regret it. I had changed to f1 from samsung s7 edge. Best thing about poco f1 is speed and battery life

Thank you, will do!
even if poco was not in the scene, there was no reason to buy rn5 pro after 8months. you could go towards all the android one phones in the range, or asus zenfone max m1 pro.
however, if you can afford poco, don't even think twice. it is superior in everything from all of those devices.
I sold my RN5Pro and got Poco F1. Day and night difference in camera and performance. Why would you even compare 5 Pro with Poco? Go for Poco.

Hi folks I just shattered the screen of my Redmi Note 3 SD version (RN3). I had this phone since early 2016 and though it's still working and I could prolly do a service job on it for $50 and extend its life to a year or so I feel sticking to this phone any further wouldn't be to my advantage.
So I'm in the market for a new phone and I would really love to hear your precious advise so I may get the best available option for my hard earned bucks.
My budget is around $350. I'm not a brand fan boi, I don't mind going for unknown brands if the build quality is there. B/C with a good build quality you can get the best out of your phone under XDA. So when I go for a smartphone the features I pay attention to are:
1-If the phone can handle recent games. If a phone can handle recent games odds are high that it will perform well in everyday life.
2-It must have a great community under XDA so that if the manufacturers aren't arsed to push updates, you can still get the best out of your phone by for e.g flashing a custom rom or the Google cam or flash the latest security patch and so on.
3-The camera specs should be good (not expecting pixel3 stuffs or p30 results), but should be able to take good shots when I go on road trips.
Having said that, phones that have caught my eye so far are the Huawei Y9(2019 version) and the Xiaomi Poco Phone F1. So what do you lads think!
The Huawei Y9 is out as per your stated requirements as they don't even allow bootloader unlocking. There might be unofficial methods. Poco F1 looks to be the best choice but I don't know if the initial issues like backlight bleeding, touch latency etc have been fixed. Redmi Note 7 Pro is another decent option but the price difference between its 6GB model and Poco F1 base variant is too little. Realme has opened up BL unlocking but the pace of development doesn't seem very encouraging. Otherwise the Realme 3 Pro appears to pack solid hardware. Dunno when the Poco F2 will be launched.

Thanks for input. I though pretty much the same Poco F1 would be the best option!

Wait for Mi A3 . not sure its launching date. it is android one device. Bootloader unlocking is very easy for android one phone.
Updates will given by google and not xiaomi. Also u will get 3 android updates. Spec will be same like rn7 pro.
Or buy rn7 pro. It has QC 4.0 charging and 4000mah battery.
From Kenzo, I used Tissot which is Mi A1 and now lavender which is Redmi Note 7.
Redmi Note 7 aka lavender as of now has very minimal development going on based on xda threads available. But the good thing is that it supports treble so gsi will provide you with a lot of custom rom and me myself is using a GSI now. Violet aka Note 7 Pro on the other hand has a better development than lavender. It has great camera too considering you are using gcam to full utilize the camera and also lavender's camera is Greta as well but not as good as violet. Lavender has Snapdragon 660 and violet has Snapdragon 675.

(suggestions)is it right to buy refurbrished poco f1 now?

I wanna buy refurbrished poco f1 atmost at 10-11k , is it good to buy now , will there be a development long term, or i should buy redmi note 8 ?
Any suggestions?
Poco is a developer friendly device. I think we'll get Android 11 roms as well. But you've an ugly notch and faulty touch screen( for some user ).

If you had asked me this one year ago i would have recommended POCO F1 without any thought. But it has now become quite old considering every month a new phone is launched. The major advantage over M2 pro is its SoC. Performance is greater than my needs ,SDM845 still holds up and there is a lot of development support for POCO F1. As for the camera, having a 48mp sensor is no good when the software is so ****ty. It can't take the full advantage. I can capture better pictures with a GCam on F1's 12mp camera. POCO F1 has enough battery that will get you through the day. But don't expect it to last upto 2 day. M2 pro has bigger battery, better fast charging, fine chipset and will be getting major android updates in the future. So it really comes down to what you want to do with your phone. If you want fast phone with ok camera and ok battery go for POCO F1. As for the software it still has a lot of development potential.
Cons for POCO F1
Getting old.
Notch sometimes bothers me.
There are chances of getting screen issues 'cause lot of users have complained about it.
poco F1.
Notch isnt really a problem for me.
m2 pro is just a rebranded redmi note 9 pro in my place.
cons, back design is bland af

Depends on what you are looking for and your budget. If you can spend a bit more go for the F2 Pro.
If you are only looking at the M2 and F1 then go for the M2, sure the chip isn't as powerful as the F1, but the 720G is sufficient and it can play games (though not on the highest settings), but for sure it will still be supported updates wise since Poco basically declared that the MIUI12 update will be the last and we'd have to rely on enthusiastic devs for 3rd party ROMS. If you don't mind flashing and if you don't use the cameras that much anyway then the F1 may be for you. But like I said if you have a bigger budget go for the F2 Pro, Nord, or even a OnePlus 7 (if you can get it for a good price) family, or even the mi 10 lite
