Help with Samsung Galaxy J2 Core - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.. I am using a Samsung Galaxy J2 core device running Oreo 8.1 (Andoid GO edition)
I just recently rooted my device using Magisk v17.1. Im new to rooting devices.
I want to install some custom ROM or possibly a custom recovery but cant find any that is compatible with this device.
My device runs with 1GB RAM and a 1.4Ghz processor but works like a turtle when it comes to running heavy apps.
Thought some modifications can make it better and faster. Thank you

Hi! As far as i have searched there is no TWRP for the J260. Or did you find one compatible? Did you fix it?

Hi! Did you find a custom ROM for it? I just got this device today, and was hoping for a custom ROM also. Is there a telegram or discord group for the j2 core? i can only find for the J2 prime.

Hello @Rock Cool!
If you want to install custom ROM, then you can follow this video >>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GevfRt0nf4E.
Further information is given in the video description with the apk link.
By this procedure, you can upgrade your phone from Android 8.1 oreo to pie 9.0, but you won't be able to extend RAM. If you want to run heavy apps, it won't work due to low RAM.

I did not find any compatible, I mistakenly installed a twrp from another device, in that the device is only restarting on the screen of SAMSUNG, which appears written SAMSUNG GALAXY J2 CORE POWERED BY ANDROID GO EDITION
He stays on it for two seconds then restarts

Booting into linux isn't that easy, there may be a kali nethunter or ubuntu build for your device try searching the N2 forums. To dual boot you need a dual boot kernel/recovery if I remember correctly devil kernel by DerTeufel had this option

I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough in the title.
My phone isn't a redmii note2 it is a Samsung galaxy note 2
But you're asking in Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 forum section.

Well, I guess any generic Android distro will do. I think about compiling a LineageOS build for myself, but I´d need lots of help.
You could check out what LineageOS is all about on their web site, or on youtube videos showing its features and performance.
I´ve successfully flashed it to a Samsung S5, and it works just like on those videos. Now I want to run it on my Alcatel A3 XL Max.
First of all, I´d like to figure out how to flash a new ROM onto an Alcatel device. Is there an Odin-like tool for Alcatel devices? Odin is for Samsung devices only...
But, besides that, I´d need lots of technical info on the device itself, in order to patch LineageOS´s drivers and stuff like that.
I have an Alcatel A3 XL Max (the one featuring 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage), but would happily compile builds for other Alcatel devices, should someone be kind enough to provide me with the needed tech info.
Thanks.

Can you please provide the stock ROM for this phone? I have a A3 XL and I need a stock ROM to repair it. I was trying to install a custom bootloader but it was not the one for this phone and now I can use it because it seems that no one has posted ROMs for this phone.
Root
Have you managed to root the Alcatel a3 xl ??

I did not need it, I just installed the application (androidmtk.com) and it found it automatically and then installed on the phone and it was restored to stock.

[Q] Can I flash a Custom ROM from other region on my phone?

I want to know if I can flash a custom ROM from other region on my phone.
Whats happening: I want to install a LineageOS 13 ported for Galaxy J3 (2016). But it's made for the model SM-J320FN, and mine is the SM-J320M. I've searched informations about these two models and the hardware is practically the same. Can I install that ROM on my phone?
If there's a way, I wanna know.
Edit: I heard that one of the compatiblity points is the CPU, that is the same in the 2 models.

There's a RR rom for J3 too (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ent/rom-resurrection-remix-mm-v5-7-4-t3635573) but it says in the title that is for J320FN too.
I just want to know if I can use the FN roms as J320FN and J320M have practically the same specs.
