Backup and Restore app??????? - Google Pixel 2 XL Themes, Apps, and Mods

What is a good backup and restore app?
I used to use titanium backup when I was using ROM manager a lot. But it seems like ROM manager is no more really. So is titanium backup still worth it or is there a better app out there now?

Titanium is the best I've heard for root, for non root backing up your photos is easy with Google Photos, music is just easier to transfer on your computer than back, contacts and a bunch of other things similar can be backed up with your Google account

You should also look at Swift Backup. I've been a long time Titanium Backup user and i quite like Swift Backup and have bought the premium version as i like it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.swiftapps.swiftbackup

I use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.appbackup but I recommend u delete after ur done using it , every time you get a call or call some body it will ask you if u want to enable call recorder

Well i can't get twrp to restore any of my backup roms and such that's what I am really looking for when trying to restore it says error readable only

Good way to back up apps and data when flashing new ROMs?

Hey guys, I am using this awesome AOKP ROM that lately has had a lot of nightlies. I have found that going back into the play store and redownloading every app I wanted is kind of a chore and I figure there has to be a good way to back up my apps. Does anyone know one?
Also when I do reinstall my apps, all the app data (game progress user logins etc) are gone. How can I back that up?
And finally if I do back up the data from the apps, will that mess with my ROM at all?
I'm sure this is all pretty beginner stuff, but I suppose Im a beginner at android
Thanks in advanced!

As priyesh103 said, you can use Titanium Backup.
Backing up and restoring app data should be safe in almost all cases but if you restore certain system settings you can mess things up if you change to another ROM or in some cases to another version of the same ROM. If you made a complete backup you can just try it. In the worst case you'd have to wipe or reflash, but since you have a backup that shouldn't be a big problem.
Titanium backup all the way! Buy pro if you have lots of apps. It also let's you backup and restore apps on any new phones you get, as long as its rooted.
Must have root app

How do multiple ROM users switch so quickly?

I was wondering how do multiple ROM users switch between roms so fast. It seems so slow for me to always reinstall apps, login and password, for each rom. Even using Titanium with just data is slow because you need to spend time to reload apps.
Are people just using nandroid backups to switch and taking a new nandroid when there is a ROM update?
Just wondering how you guys do it.
Thanks.
Do you have titanium pro? You can restore apps, all in a row without having to tap buttons in between each app

Titanium Backup Pro is your answer my friend. Also a lot of apps allow you to save/restore your settings. For example, I use Nova Launcher and I can save my desktop configuration, so when I switch to a new ROM, I'll first reinstall Titanium Backup and use it restore my apps in one fell swoop, and then I restore my Nova settings which restores my home screens, widgets, shortcuts, app drawer options, etc. Finally in the Messages app, I can restore my text messages.
That and I'm a big OCD nerd who enjoys starting over from scratch, so even without all these shortcuts it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to me. That's just me, though.

I had read on some threads before that the best way is to save on data on Titanium and then reinstall your app from appstore then restore data only. Is this true cause that is what I would do but still took forever to restore apps from the Play Store.
Do people run roms from nandroid backups and just update the rom when needed?

I back up both the app and the app data and I restore the app and the app data together, all using Titanium Backup. I don't touch the Play Store at all unless I'm getting a brand new app, or if I've lost/corrupted one of my backups somehow.
If a restored app gives me trouble (very rarely), then I will uninstall the app, and then restore only the app without the data.
I don't know what you mean by "run ROMs from nandroid backups." A nandroid backup is like a system restore point on your computer. Like a snapshot in time of your ROM and never changes. So after you make or restore a nandroid backup and install even one app it will be different than your backup copy.
What you are using right now is your "system ROM" or "live" ROM if you will. Nandroid backups are just checkpoints you can activate again (restore) if your system ROM breaks or you made a change you want to undo.
Some people have more than one favorite ROM. So they will install a ROM, set it up to their liking, then make a nandroid of it. Then install a different ROM, set that one up, and make a nandroid of THAT. By doing this, one can quickly jump back and forth between multiple ROMs by simply restoring the appropriate nandroid. Having a bunch of nandroids can take up a lot of space, and if you don't rename or organize your nands it could get confusing!
Hopefully this answers your question?

Is there any way to back up Google Apps data? I have 4 gmail accounts and it takes time to have to set them up each time.
System apps generally perform poorly from data restore and can actually affect the overall performance of rom. Gapps are considered system apps so I wouldn't count on restore. I've never actually tried it though
Only app I back up is my texts.... I do clean install each time.

Backup "Accounts" in Titanium Backup. It will save your accounts and passwords, then all you have to do is set up the apps again. I haven't had issues with TBP and backing up system apps yet, but I know it's not recommended.

I've seen various issues with people using Titanium backup for settings, creating all types of issues with new roms. Anyone have any thoughts on that? I also want to be able to restore everything faster from ROM to ROM, but am hesitant to use Titanium.

Settings and system apps are generally not good to restore across roms. I've been using titanium for about 3 years now for user app/data and hardly have any issues.

CLEAN!!!!!!!!!
i switch roms like crazy and im runing cm10 right now im running it on a clean install so far only thing ive restored is XDA so i dont have to login and subscribe to threads again but other than that i dont restore anything else
I use system tuner pro. It has an option to restore apps and widgets to where they were on your home screens so you don't have to set it all up again. You can also back up or restore everything all at once with a 'one-click' option.

If you use similar roms you can just format the system without affecting the data. But still it is better to reinstall everything. Also use titatium backup for all your apps and my backup root for your personal stuff. I change roms allot. Doesn't take too long.

Titanium pro backs up all your accounts so u don't have to sign in with them all again. It also backs up texts, call logs, and WiFi access points.
Only thing I haven't figured out is for it to backup your home screens like some of the other apps listed.

Backing up /Restoring Apps (Galaxy SII HD E120S)

I want to ASK something. One thing bothers me is that whenever I have to test a ROM upgrade/downgrade all my data/installed apps are gone. Is there a way that I can backup my all apps and their data and restore them after installing new ROM. I have already testes some Play Store apps like App Backup and Restore but it didn't work.
I also always set option of backing up apps and data on google accounts but couldn't find any option to restore.
Thanks for your comments.
Titanium bk is one of the best. Highly recommend.

Cant backup apps + data

Im currently on hyperdrive 7 and was looking to flash a different rom to try out, but neither rom toolbox pro or tibu will allow me to backup apps and data. I usually use rom toolbox pro, but when I try to backup app+data, it just starts failing every app. I tried tibu again just to see if the problem was rtp, but it will only restore the app without data. Most stuff I dont mind losing data on, but I have a few games and other things I dont want to start from scratch on. Thanks in advance for any help!

Have you successfully backed up and restored these before?
On rls6 I was able to restore everything and backup before moving to 7. When I got to 7, my apps would restore, but no data with them.

My usual backup location is on my external sdcard, and it doesnt work there. I tried using internal too, and it failed as well. Typically, its set to extsdcard/app_manager but thats a no go.

Maybe make sure TiBU has SU access?
I did make a backup of rls6 when I flashed rls7, but have deleted it due to thinking everything was fully functional and trying to save space.
Also, I have titanium backup pro, purchased it a couple years ago but have found rtp to be more reliable. Both have superuser permissions.
Thank you all for your help, I think im just gonna have to bite the bullet and start from scratch again.

That's not recommended using a nandriod backup to replace your data partition when switching to a different ROM. What you can do is use Titanium Backup to backup all your user apps with data, and then restore them after you've flashed a new ROM.
FYI, only backup and restore "User" apps with Titanium when switching ROM's.
+1 to what guyd said. I paid for the titanium backup app years ago and I use it every day. Don't really know what the free version doesn't have compared to the paid. I never restore system data though. Makes flashing roms and setting them up sooo much quicker.
Thank you very much will do and if there is a pro version I will buy got to support your developers!!!

From what i've read, titanuim backup has had problems with restoring on the 4.4.2 platform. Has this been resolved yet? I never used it as I'm accustomed to ROM toolbox. I know that app works well.
Also not mentioned. Titanuim backup free doesn't allow you to batch restore which is a real biggie!
