AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Android Lollipop, the ROM has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LOS) we became LineageOS based with some tweaks from AOSP and we are now based on the "Ground Zero Open Source Project" (GZOSP) for Android Pie.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the GZOSP team, if it concerns their code base. This ROM isn't GZOSP supported, so there is no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP. Custom ROMs modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROMs. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I 'dirty flash' builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot" as the destination, then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash and reboot afterwards.
Using the ROM:
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A. Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.)
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Pie. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash for the first time:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Reboot and set up your device, enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering.
7. Reboot back into TWRP recovery.
8. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
9. Reboot your device.
The procedure might vary from device to device and is a bit different on system updates!
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently supported Root Solution:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 17.2 doesn't usually require to be flashed on every dirty flash. Depending on the device, you may need to flash it every time. Unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

Installation went flawlessly.
Fairly fast 1st boot.
So far one minor issue noticed. When changing to dark/black mode, UI hangs a bit ( expected).
Then On screen navigation appears, which I have disabled before.
Solution was to re-enable and then back to disable on screen navigation.
Overall, good work!

What should I do?
Thnx

Thanks for this always a massive fan of AICP, will try it soon

"6. Reboot and set up your device, enable developer settings and in them OEM unlock/Advanced reboot/USB tethering."
Why enabling USB Tethering by default? In my Windows 10, after connecting with USB cable my phone restarts.
Issue surpassed by not using Thetering!

Yep... clean flashing!!! Nor default Camera app nor other camera app recognizes selfie cam. There's not even a switch icon to change from rear to front camera. In my previous ROM was working, so, not my phone's hardware problem... I guess!

My test builds have experimental changes that might not appear in official releases for a while, or ever if they're not stable, my test builds do not show up as OTA updates, if stability is your main priority I would recommend staying on the official releases unless if you're testing a specific fix or something, but if you want all the latest features, fixes, and improvements before they're deemed to be stable, then the test builds are for you

The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows LAOS source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use the LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. The Zipfile gets saved in the "aicp_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

FAQ:]
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, it will be every week on Wednesday
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. Xposed is not yet available for Oreo.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Go to Aicp Extras/Navigation bar, and enable it.
Thanks.
Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page

Same here, I just received my x722 today. Wanted to install paranoid android, but it's kind of outdated right now.
Edit: Just installed and I see that there are few features missing that are usually on Le Eco stock ROM, like Schedule power on & off settings, etc.
edit2: I have installed nova launcher, kernel adiutor and rooted with supersu, when I open antutu benchmark the lagging is so bad, i have to do hard-reboot.

I can recommended PA and other 7.0 ROMs here in forums, they're more worked or refined than 8.1's, cuz' they're relatively new.
About this ROM, it works, also camera is the same as LOS 15.1, partly working... So far, so good.
Gonna test it overnight, will report back next time.

It doesn't work for me, UI works, but everything else is blank/black. Also 'Camera keeps stopping' is showing.
The other camera app with blue icon works. But yeah it's shtty camera app if compared to EUI app.
The blue camera works, pre-installed one. There are two cams installed, red and blue, but camera fv-5 works too.

so hyped over this but its not super polished as its fairly new. lots of lag. camera usable . can't use this rom as a daily driver yet but i'll come back to it!
I just got random reboot, while it does nothing. I still not install stuff like Gapps and Magisk or kernel adiutor.
I use mostly my mobile as usb tethering, so I hope it is just once time reboot itself. Somehow I have to hold power button about 5-7 seconds to turn it back on.

Probably because originally this was not made for X722, it got few fixes and adjustments for it to work on x722 and now it's released. I'm also thinking about going back to PA, but I could also hope for OTA updates weekly that fix these issues, maybe it will be usable.

I tried it already, none of the 3 camera apps worked properly, this one with .ee link quit after 2-3 photos, it showed that 'Can't connect to camera' or something and app stopped.
Uploading test build should improve performance

Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>

The face unlock function is broken. That function in Pixel Exprience is broken too. I installed this ROM in the hope of being functional :crying:
Edit: By searching for "android 8 face unlock stopped working" and related, I found this: github.com/opengapps/opengapps/issues/555
By reading this post, I found this comment, and after flash that zip file, the Face Unlock is fully functional:

Now, I've got a HUGE problem with the GPS, it doesn't seem to see, much less lock on any satellite, I've let GPS test on for about 15 min and nothing.
And I would love if you can get the long press on the power button to start the flashlight, this is a minor annoyance tho.

Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*

Please note that official builds will be deleted from our servers every month due to maintenance services.
We advise everyone to keep at least the latest or best working build on their device as a backup.
Maybe copy it to a cloud service or USB too.

Bug report
Bug reports without a proper description of the issue and a log will be ignored!
You don't know howto take a log - see here:
https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-take-logs-in-android/
https://lmgtfy.com/?q=how to get android logs&p=1&s=g
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA ("Over-The-Air" Updates):
To be able to flash using the built-in OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery. Keep in mind that this could also be an unofficial version!

The preinstalled Camera-app is the orginal SnapDragonCamera, if you want more resolution install a Cameraapp of your choice.
We have the same issue like LOS with the playback of instagramm/whatsapp videos, you can solve this temporary, by killing the app.
Im using instagram through browser and no playback issues

Kind Of
The secondary screen as of HTC stock ROMs doesn't exist anymore in AICP v14
The area where the second screen used to displays its notifications is now used by the AICP toolbar
So it's now like a "Notch"

Thank you! I think, this is the best solution for secondary screen. However, I use the phone with #wm size 1080x1920 to lower battery usage and avoid lags in launcher. In this case, the solution in other Pie ROM just preserves the pixel-height of status bar so the bar extends below the camera notch. Is this a case for this ROM, or can you recommend any Terminal command or modification to set the statusbar height (unfortunately, GravityBox does not work in 9.0 as Xposed is still in development)

I mean not really. If I'm honest, I would prefer if the secondary display would just be disabled. why? it reduces battery consumption as it doesnt need to be lit and it doesnt compromize space and functionality of the os, for example if you watch youtube, either the video is smaller, or it goes over the 'notch' and u dont see a little bit of the video, same with photos. Though i haven't tested the rom, this is what it was like on the linneage os
thx the good news, and any screenshots we can preview the rom's home screen?

Your welcome ,
There is an app called "Natcho Notch" in playstore mentioned in the telegram group , I use it to black out the statusbar
You can set the height of the status bar as your liking
It's fully compatible with this ROM
I will try it soon

AICP 13.1 version - Notch is disabled, has Exchange account support, Wireguard should work too. Stable build "almost official" But it is Oreo not Pie...
All people excited about Pie - most of them forgetting advantage of a well cooked Oreo..

Edit: Saw you posted on that thread already..

I'm using Resurrection Remix as of now. So to switch to this ROM I have to clean flash it? Or I have to revert to stock ROM first?
My bet is that you don't have to return to stock ROM but install this ROM and GApps directly. However, if via clean or dirty flash, I don't know. Try yourself and then share with the rest of us.

You don't have to revert because I moved from RR to Pie without a problem, but you have to do a clean flash, very important to do all previous wipes including data and system.
Please share with us, because I'm now with LOS16 and I would like to know the differences between them.

Please share with us, because I'm now with LOS16 and I would like to know the differences between them.

I'll try flashing when I get time because I have a lot of stuffs to back up. Probably by this week. Will let you know soon!

Yes clean flash is required when coming from another ROM. Complete wipe incl. data highly recommended.
