I think there are ultra-fine tip pens available for capacitive touchscreens, any info on this will be helpful.

yeah but they are far worse than a dedicated pen like the m-pen / s-pen.
they do not have the abilities such as
- precision differentiation
- palm resistant
- button for extra features
etc..

true, but stick/greasy/oily hands would certainly want an alternative way of handling the touchscreen, like this one:

Pen input

How's pen input on this. I'm looking for another tablet that I can do note taking that's part pen, part drawing. I'll probably sell off the Nook color and get this.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
i think it's worth it.. esp if u can find it for 250 - 350 ..
at the same time i say that... asus said at mwc they'd be bringing out a 7 inch quad core tegra 3 tablet with stylus support and ICS with 8mp rear camera *no front facing cam tho* for around 250 i think they called it the MEMO 370T .. something like that...idk if it's worth waiting for you or not..
I think the pen input is great on this tablet. Writing is one thing, but the pressure sensitivity is really also sensitive enough to do some descent sketching and drawing. Just watch out for the HTC Note app as it is not nearly as sensitive as some other third party apps such as Quill and Sketchbook Pro.
I am really liking the pen input, only issue is the varying amount of success going from one app to the next. Some work great, some are not as great.
Built in HTC notes app is nice for jotting down quick notes.
Quill is awesome for note taking
Sketchbook mobile is nice for drawing but not as precise as I'd like.
Draw(er) pro is terrible
Drawing pad is fun, but it's like MS Paint and not very feature filled
I haven't really given Handwrite pro a chance.

Where did they say the info about the stylus support? Did they mention a stylus specifically, because every tablet has stylus support, and they're all terrible IMO.

Ics has native stylus support that is supposed to be better than what they had previously. That said, the hardware and software of the flyer/view/jetstream are built together specifically for optimal stylus support. So yea, this tablet will be the best for that until HTC or someone else improves on scribe. But I think ics will be passable.

The Asus Memo does not have an active digitizer.
Writepad works great for a keyboard replacement
Pen great and if you ever used a PalmPilot you'll love that you can use the graffiti writing instead of the keyboard, nice for when you want to take notes without looking down at the screen.

Oneplus 5 Camera Lens Accessories

Has anyone found a good smartphone camera lens that clips onto the oneplus 5 and fits around the camera hump. Something like a olloclip or any smartphone lens kit.
Since the lenses are in a very similar place to the iPhone, I would hazard a guess that iPhone accessories might work just fine.

I have looked into that however the only iphone 7+ camera lens i could find requires a case and I believe that the other lens kit requires a single camera system only. If you find any could you post the link in the thread.

Hi. Any further thoughts on this? I found something called '4 in 1 camera lens for OnePlus 5 macro wide angle lens'... (can't post link sorry). Has anyone tried?
Probably more expensive than you're wanting, but it fits flawlessly in a Koziro Cinima Mount 2 - it's amazing for filming with, but you need a right angle adapter if you want to use an external microphone. I got mine for half this price on ebay.
Finally a dual lens solution for OnePlus
I brought this lens system for my 1+5
works like a charm, amazing quality. now my phone is on adrenaline

Honor 10 is definitely more powerful than OP3/3T and equal to S8 /S8+
It has process equal to SD835 and better specs.
"Apart from having an amazing camera, AI 2.0 also gave it an intelligent touch with:
- Bokeh in selfie mode
- Detailed imaging
- 3D facial recognition
- Correcting optical distortion
- AI improved facial lighting for consistency

I use it often for whatsapp, snapchat, instagram, internet, twitter and maybe news apps. Sometimes the Screen is longer on for reading PDFs or watching videos.
I wanna have a smartphone, which can be used from the morning to the night and makes also photos with a nice quality and also videos with a nice quality.
64gb are enough for myself. But the design also count - the Honour has a really nice blue (or green - i dont saw this yet) color for 400€ and the OP6 has only the midnight black edition for 513€, but you can send your old smartphone to OP and they give you a ~100€ voucher for ur OP3 so the price is very similar

Depens on what you Are looking For.
The oneplus 6 has better battery life thanks to both a more efficient screen and a more power efficient Snapdragon 845 SOC. It is also noticeably faster than the honor 10.
The advantages of the honor 10 are that it has a slightly better camera, a flicker free screen and is significantly cheaper. It is also a bit more compact, which makes it easier to operate with nearly one hand.
Snapdragon is not efficient as 835 , 845 is just overclocked 835 with ai so battery on honor 10 will be around 20% more than op 6 and there is €150 difference in price
Honor and huawei sadly dont have good video quality. The low bitrate results in the videos looking like a poorly converted youtube video. only 4K is good but looks like 1080p compared to my old s8.
If you value battery life above that i would recommend the honor View10 (V10). It has a larger battery 3750mAh and similar specs. Does not look as flashy and has not the latest AI features but i dont think they make a big difference anyways. It is basically automatic scene detection, boosting pics to be instagram ready.
hands down, 100% yes. The OnePlus 3 is 2 years old . Honor 10 has better cameras, features and flagship specs.

Yes, On Youtube, there are many Huawei Honor 10 VS OnePlus 5T videos, and the conclusion is that the two phones have similar performance, so Honor 10 is better than OnePlus 3.
Hello! I own an Honor 8 and a OnePlus 3.
I was looking for a new smartphone: I took into consideration various models, including
- Oneplus 5, 5T, 6
- but also Xiaomi Mi MIx 2e 2s, Mi Note 3
- Motorola Moto X4
- and some Sony Xperia (XZ1 in particular).
In the end this morning I ordered an Honor 10 on amazon at 312 euros: I made a good purchase?
I was looking for a smooth smartphone, with a good camera (lots of point and shoot photos, no video), nice display and maybe good speaker sound.
I like android stock but I noticed that on Honor 8 with Rootless Pixel Launcher and an Androdi P them I like how my honor looks like.
dunno about OP3, but downs of Honor 10 are:
- basically missing notification LED (what they included it's joke)
- no microSD
- no EIS/OIS
- battery life not very exciting about 6-8hrs on WiFi only
- fingerprint reader can be kinda meh sometimes
- single/mono speaker, also could be louder and same jack output
- EMUI lacking customization (for instance extremely small status bar icons/clock and not customizable design of these icons, no built in edge gestures)
- screen edge detection of mistouches it's pretty poor (hopefully fixed with case?)
- rear camera not flush with surface and very slippery back (both should be possible to fix ith case hopefully)

Mate 20 Pro and 4K video: what the hell is that?

I mean, I do hope it’s just me...but I see something really weird in almost any 4K video recorded with Mate 20 Pro....or at least with the one where there’s a sort of rapid panning: it seems like there’s a “stripe” of video at the panning direction edge whenever there’s a rapid “panning” movement where the image is like deformed?!?!
I guess is something dealing with EIS or AI stabilisation, but I’m not sure. What I don’t understand is why no one talks about it. I mean, every review say the mate 20 Pro 4K video are finally stabilised but at what expense? I find those video to be terrible with the “deforming edge”....is it just me?!?!
Here you are an example of what I’m talking about
https://youtu.be/vKS1U56uj04
https://youtu.be/lGUiLgUv-CI (especially from minute 1.03 up to minute 3:00)
I do hope someone having the phone can eventually confirm what I saw.
Thanks in advance

Give it some time... Its still on pre release software, i am sure they are already aware of this,
It happens the same to me, Huawei told me that they are working on it, so you don't have to be worried about that, it's just like AI Vídeo modes ( they just doesn't appear in this pre release version), I'm afraid that we have to wait a couple of weeks more... I have to learn how to be patient! LOL

Look again. There are still stammers. Pay attention to the cars and see how the traffic is not smooth at all.
If they do not fix it, then shame on huawei and its flagship device.
Thats why im waiting before gettinng this device
It is likely because of stabilization.... try without stabilization...
When stabilizing video the camera only takes a smaller crop from the sensor and uses the information from the edges and gyro sensor data to calculate your movement then it can use that edge informatrion to smoothen out your video.
link to explanation
Due to the physical sensor being 4:3 format and the video being recorded in 16:9 there is still enough edge to work with top and bottom.
Left and right though the sensor has to be cropped, if they chose to crop only little than the stabilization algorithm does not have enough edge information to smooth out the movements and this jitter effect becomes visible.
That of course is only my explananation, i could be wrong

4k display on huawei P30 pro

Hello, xda! Maybe anyone knows how to put a 4k resolution on the huawei P30 pro? Somewhere on the Internet saw that the display can show 4k, but software removed this possibility.
The device have FHD+ (2340X1080 Pixels) dispay. This is hardware specification of the device and CAN NOT be changed. So, no, you can't change the resolution to 4k.

Yes this can in fact be done, all you need to do is hold the phone in landscape position, then slide a Sony X1 in front of it and voila a 4k screen on your P30 pro
I heard they're adding the 4k display in the Android 10 update for the P30 Pro. So you'll get it then.
Also airplane mode has been updated to so you can actually fly now. Pretty cool.
