S9+ DeX mode with generic adapter - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Hi All
Has anybody managed to get DeX to kick in when connected to an non genuine adapter? Got a £18 generic USB.c to HDMI and power and although the display shows a mirror of my phone screen and the phone charges ok, Dex refuses to kick in. I don't see a way to manually start it. Tried connecting all in different order, tried usb keyboard and all other suggestions I found while researching my issue, but nothing works.
Weird thing is that my mate's Note9 works ok with the same adapter...
Suggestions welcome.
Thanks

When I was on CR15 Pie it would kick on when I plugged my generic hdmi-c adaptor. It worked but had colored lines randomly across the screen probably due to CR15 being a leaked beta version, but DEX kicked on automatically on my S9+ (G965U)
Now that I'm back on Oreo its back to only mirroring the screen as normal.

I am waiting for a more interesting answer from other friends

The Note 9 doesn't need a Dex device for Dex mode to work. It works with anything, even just a USB-C > HDMI cable.
But the S9/S9+ DOES need a Dex device for Dex mode to work.
There are some 3rd party devices that manage to get it working. Usually these are devices that say they are specifically for Nintendo Switch. They'll sometimes also list Dex too.

You can't just use any random USB-C to HDMI adapter.

[Q] MHL being wierd and OTG crashing phone

ive had my MHL cable for over 2 weeks now and its got the official samsung logo - and i got it from suntekstore... only problem is i havent got it working...
ive tried with my dads stock 2.3 i9100 on a viewsonic monitor and samsung tv
same with my 4.0.4 i9100 resurrection remix 1.7 + siyah 3.1.2
the other two items i got from suntekstore were 2 OTG adaptors which fail to work... (i also have one that does work from another store) so i think it might be the MHL adaptor itself
yesterday i was frustrated and kept plugging my phone in and out of the samsung tv.... and BAM i got a visual =S after like 10 'no signal' and 2 resolution not supported... but the screen was stuck in portrait... thats the closest ive come to using MHL properly!
on top of that... when i use OTG keyboard connection... the phone freezes if i try pressing caps lock to check for power on my phone! any one else running same OS version and its working?
When successfully connected via MHL the S2 will display in portrait, so that was normal. Apps that run in landscape will do so when run, or where sensor orientation works, like in photo gallery etc, you can rotate it to landscape yourself.
No, as for your issues regarding getting the picture to stay on; first, you did have the Samsung Charger plugged into the MHL cable right, and the correct output channel selected on your tv?
Assuming you did for both the above, the problem is likely with your hdmi cable, not the tv's. Have you tried using different cables? I have a problem with one of my hdmi cables where the screen goes black for a few seconds whenever it pleases, with another cable (which comes with the sky box), it stays on all the time. So try changing cables and see what kind of response you get.
Also, some users have mentioned that they seem to get picture when they put their phones into flight mode first, I've never needed to do this, but give it a go and see what happens. Once you've got your picture up, you can use your tv's remote the control your S2, assumming your tv supports that function.
Hope that helps
I have not tried that rom but last I heard any source based rom doesn't have a working MHL output. I don't know the status at all of OTG on source based roms.
You said you tried it on your dads stock phone but didn't clearly state if it worked or not which it should if the phone is stock. So use that as a basis of if the adaptor is broken.
thanks guys - yeah it could be the hdmi cable... they are pretty cheapo - but on seeing 2 OTG adapters from the same store dont work... the MHL being broken cant really be a coincidence? it was in delivery for over 1 month =[ maybe someone broked it! lol
I think in the end it was the MHL adaptor... ive got a replacement sent out as now the phone wont even recognise power to charge when plugged into the mhl however the charger directly into the phone works! argh may be a long wait for the replacement took 30 days to get my other shipment! may have to resort to a more expensive one

Samsung Multimedia dock not displaying HDMI.

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me please.
I recently purchased Samsung's smart dock to use with my note 3. It goes into dock mode when i sit the phone in the dock and i can control the phone using a wireless keyboard and mouse so the dock seems to be working as it should. Ive tried 2 hdmi cables on all 3 sockets on my panasonic viesa tv. I just cant get a picture on the tv.
I have tried all the obvious reboots, checking connections etc.
I can't see what the fault may be and I don't have another screen with hdmi input to test it with.
any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Did you plug in your power supply?
Yeah, plugged into power socket using all official Samsung cables plugs etc. It's driving me mad. I'm going to try it on a friends TV tonight. Hopefully it's just a compatability issue with my TV. But I use the hdmi inputs with other several other things as well without problems.
my note 3 is rooted on a tw rom.
So I tried a Samsung brand TV. Still no picture, so I installed stock firmware and tried again. Still nothing, so I guess I have a faulty smart dock or I have damaged my port on my phone. (It charges and transfers data fine without any problems).
I shall be exchanging the dock, but if that does not sort it I guess it's the port. If it's the port then I've voided my warranty by setting knox to 0x1.
Does anyone know how I would be able to test it, because it doesn't seem damaged to me.

Galaxy S8 HDMI not working

I bought the ADAM elements CASA H01 USB Type-C to HDMI Adapter Gold, I tried connecting HDMI to my S8, S8 says HDMI connected but the TV has no response. I am sure the TV works with HDMI as I tested my XBOX on it. Is there anyway to make it work? Or is my adapter broken?
you can try things like switching the tv off/on and the phone off/on whilst its connected. sometimes, not often, that will help
it sounds like hdmi handshake issues. basically a compatibility problem between the phone and the tv.
Thank you for the suggestion, I tried but still doesn't work. If it's a problem between the phone and tv, should I try the adapter on other tv?
I used Choetech USB C to HDMI 60HZ cable to my S8. Everything worked well. https://www.amazon.com/CHOETECH-Thunderbolt-Compatible-MacBook-ChromeBook/dp/B06XP9NV4G/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1495422430&sr=8-5&keywords=choetech+HDMI
I had some HDCP issues when I tried connecting my S8 to a capture device, but that was due to a poor quality cable.
Make sure your device can read the HDMI signal coming from the phone too. It appears to send 1080p or higher, so if your device only understands 720p (some smaller TVs are like this) it might not be able to see the signal from your phone.
I'm having same issue hubbies works mine won't same cord and tv???
Any idea what's going on I just factory reset my phone and still doesn't work
I just got an hdmi to USB c adapter today as well and I first connected it it did not recognize my phone either. The thing that seamed to do the trick was attaching the adapter to my phone first without the hdmi or power cord, then powercord then connecting the hdmi cord and all works well
still not repaired
4 repair invoices 3 months and still not repaired currently on hold with Samsung .... i'm not impressed as this feature was a huge decision for buying the S8+
i use baseus usb-c to hdmi cable - all work good (but no dex)
I have tried two different usb-c to HDMI cable adapters and can't get neither of them to work. Any ideas thanks
Broken and need help
I have a Ugreen Adapter for usb-c to HDMI cable, it worked very well
On several tvs, it WAS working here in Mexico on my ATVIO tv, then I did some phone cleanup and it STOPPED, is there a special application or setting that I've uninstalled????, I'm lost without YouTube on my tv LOL , cant find info anywhere and I swear I installed something on my phone to get it working like 7 months ago in Dallas LOL
biggest thing iv found with EVERY usb type C connectivity issue, POCKET LINT. its as simple as using a sewing needle or safety pin to CAREFULLY take the pocket lint out of the type C port on your device, there are 30 individual pins in there, and they ALL need to make a good connection to your adapter. brand does not matter, if it works with phone A phone B will figure it out (unless your phone simply doesnt support mhl adapters)
Same problem - Galaxy S8+ with Choetech USB-C to HDMI adapter. Worked a couple of months ago not working now. Wife's phone (exactly the same) work a with adapter and HDMI cable. Cleaned, powered on/off, reset phone, nothing works. So frustrating. Any ideas?
I was using my S8+ with my TV. After a couple updates ( prior to Pie) no longer worked. Please don't suggest turning things on / off or factory reset.... The cord is fine. My phone just now updated to Pie, I thought great, maybe it will work again..... nope... I've contacted Samsung, same BS runaround. Samsung - must be a compatibility issue, Me - it was working, Samsung - must be the cord, buy a new one, Me - already did, tried two different brands, Samsung - was one of them Samsung, Me - ......., Samsung - try factory reset, Me -....... by this time I know I'm screwed. There WAS something to do with an update. (And yes prior to the Pie update I did a factory re-set with no results). From the comments on this post appears no one has a solution....

3rd Party DeX adaptors/docks list

I'm compiling a list of Type-C Adaptors that have been rumored or shown to support DeX mode. Share what devices you've seen doing it below, bonus points for video proof. EDIT: I'd share links to these things directly, but XDA limits links for freshies, and I refuse to post anything if I'm not being helpful so this'll have to do.
If you already have a Type-C dock that someone has said at some point launches DeX mode, but it doesn't initiate DeX mode when you plug it in, try a few troubleshooting ideas from the next post, it may just work after all.
SMOS DeX Station (Available on Amazon, $56)
Working Proof: YES Youtube: V54NJwB3f00
Features. 2x USB 2.0, HDMI Out, Type-C Power Input
Notes: OLDER MODELS MAY NOT WORK AFTER ANDROID OREO UPDATE, SAMSUNG PURPOSEFULLY PATCHED TO PREVENT THIS ONE FROM WORKING!
supposedly perfect functionality, stands up the phone and supposedly works flawlessly with cases. not much to talk about here as the mainstream alternative everyone already knows about.
Melopow Dex Station for Samsung Galaxy S8 S8 Plus Note8 (AKA Mellow/Mello M002, Available Via Amazon, $25, search "Melopow DeX M002")
Working Proof: YES , User Testimonials , Youtube video, and Amazon user reviews. YT: 84sOHCWd6DA
Features: 1x USB 3.1, HDMI Out, Type-C Power Input
Notes:
Rocketek-like clone with the highest success report rate but flimsy cable, if you are going to get a clone and don't mind reinforcing the cable yourself, this is the clone you probably want. Attach power first.
WDLAND USB C Hub, 7 in 1 (Available via Amazon, $33)
Working Proof: YES , User Testimonials
Features: 2x USB 2.0, 1x USB3.1 Type-A, HDMI, SD/TF reader, Type-C or Thunderbolt Power Input
Notes:
Attach power first, Note8 confirmed NEEDS a quick charge power supply, may also need quick charge supply for S8/S8+ if using more than 2 peripherals at the same time.
KSWNG Portable Dock for Nintendo Switch (Available on Amazon, $20)
Working Proof: YES , User Testimonial and Amazon user review photos
Features: 1x USB 3.1, HDMI Out, Type-C Power Input
Notes:
Rocketek-like clone with high success rate, still works after Oreo update, Note8 may need a High-Amp power supply to enter DeX mode with this dock, S8&S8+ work fine. Power MUST be attached BEFORE docking your device! May also require formatting your device before use, but only 2 instances of this have been reported. Like it's other Rocketek brothers, these are FRAGILE.
Rocketek USB-C HDMI Hub (Available on Amazon, $25.99)
Working Proof: YES Youtube: EzlIYUnuJ5c
Features: 1x USB 3.1, HDMI Out, Type-C Power Input
Notes:
Durability is an well known issue for this and it's brethren, this variant is not recommended for areas with erratic voltage, Built-in cable, DeX mode on these is supposedly fully functional !when the unit itself works!, but I've only ever seen it used without power.
ZYNUN USB Type C HDMI (Available on Amazon, $30)
Working Proof: YES , User Testimonial
Features: 2x USB 3.1, HDMI, Type-C power input, Fold-Away cable
Notes:
Attach power first, May always require quick charger, may only need for Note8.
Wofalodata Type C to HDMI Adapter for Nintendo Switch/Samsung Galaxy S8/Note 8 (Available via Amazon, Search "Wofalodata", $59)
Working Proof: YES Youtube: s5xYe9N7how
Features: 3x USB 3.1, HDMI Out, Type-C power Input
Notes:
Fold Away Cable, Built-In cable, reviews suggest you CANNOT power this one during DeX mode, but all 3 USB ports work. (just speculation, but it might JUST need a simple modification to charge while using DeX, depends on if the Type-C port on a real DeX can be used with a OTG adapter for an additional device)
C-Force CF-001 and CF-002 (aka C-Force TAS) (Available via Amazon, $60-$80 depending on vendor)
Working Proof: NO, OUNTDATED RUMORS ONLY
Rumor Details: Discussed lightly in the main DeX Thread at https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/accessories/samsung-dex-t3593828/
Features: (CF-001) 2x USB 3.1, 2x USB Type-C Data Input, HDMI Out, Type-C Power Input.
(CF-002) 1x USB 3.1, HDMI Out, Type-C Power IN
Notes: These supposedly work perfectly with power, USB, and HDMI in DeX mode, but still need power attached to the device, don't own one myself but 5 users' recommendation makes it worth checking out.
C-Force CF-003 (Ebay and Taobao ONLY for now, $50-80 depending on vendor)
Working Proof: NO, Manufacturer Claim ONLY
Notes:
I've got VERY little information on these beyond the claim that they launch DeX mode, don't own one myself, and don't have any testimonials to the effect. if someone has the cash to pick one up and share if it works and how well it works the lot of us would appreciate it.
If I disappear for more than a week (unlikely, I have XDALabs installed for notifications but I've been known to lurk hard) I give moderators permission to take over or replace the thread.
HEADS UP: Samsung has to specifically patch out certain 3rd party docks for updates to affect them, Only older SMOS docks have been patched out in the Oreo update thus far, but newer SMOS docks supposedly ship with that fixed.
Troubleshooting:
Note8 devices NEED a quick-charge power supply in order to enter DeX mode consistently.
This may also apply to S8 and S8+ phones with a large number of apps and/or games installed, or users with high power peripherals attached such as full size mechanical keyboards, gaming keyboards, high-gain wireless adaptors, or other smartphone.
Battery cases may prevent ANY dock from working properly, if you are using a battery case, start by removing it from your phone.
Some docks will not work without a 2A charger attached no matter what, others only work without power attached, try both and unplug your device from the dock between attempts.
If you are using some type of HDMI switch and the dock doesn't work, try plugging it directly into your TV instead, this is a surprisingly common cause that goes undiagnosed.
You may need to dock your phone into a REAL DeX or another already working 3rd party dock at least once for it to work on certain 3rd party docks, if none of the previous solutions worked and you can get access to one, try this before moving on. (Best Buy stores and some Boutiques may have a DeX setup by their galaxy devices for demonstration)
As a LAST resort you may have to format your device once before docking with a 3rd party dock for the first time. BACKUP YOUR DATA TO A SEPARATE LOCATION BEFORE DOING THIS!
Credits: GuyInDogSuit (Reported HDMI switch issue), player911 (Reported Reformat and quick-charge solutions), blackwolf (reported battery case issue and confirmed quick-charge solution), Amazon User Reviews (Reported and confirmed power supply issues with certain docks)
(To ROM devs using the stock ROM as a base: keep an eye out for patches to DeX related modules when you build new updates, and keep backups of code changes. they may attempt to patch out more docks in the future!)
Thanks for sharing! Really glad for someone making this thread
KSWNG
I bought a KSWNG adapter off Amazon based on description that it would work with Dex, high ratings, and lots of positive reviews of Dex Mode working.
I have a Note 8. I am running Oreo beta CRA9. Oreo was a test because Dex was failing to launch on the stock too.
The dock works great with my nintendo switch. When I hook the unit up to my Note 8, SAMSUNG DEX displays on my phone and on my TV. It does the little D..e..x animation, and then reboots. I see the little green/blue circle. And it just repeats this until I unplug the unit.
I've heard rumors that they may block 3rd party docks on Oreo builds, but even on stock it did this. I've never gotten Dex to load.
I have checked disabled system apps. I haven't factory defaulted yet due to this being a work phone, so I am looking at other solutions prior to a reset.
I'm just not sure if this is normal operation with 3rd party units, or if my Note 8 is bad.
UPDATE:
So I figured out that my KSWNG Dock works. I tested it with my buddies 8+. I factory defaulted my Note 8 and now it is working in DEX Mode, with some issues.
1. It requires power before entering DEX mode. Without power, it will only launch screen mirroring.
2. When Power is applied, the USB port disables. I've tested this without DEX, just using Android. If I connect the USB mouse up to the unit and plug it in, I can control the USB mouse pointer. As soon as I apply power, the mouse pointer goes away.
I HAVE gotten my external mouse to work in DEX before.... but it stopped and never worked again. I may have a funky USB-HDMI module. Occasionally it will complain of Water in my port.
It works fine using DEX standalone, with phone screen as touchpad. The only way I could get a mouse to work is perhaps bluetooth.
UPDATE 2:
I used my neighbors S8+, obviously stock, and the Dex loaded but again, disabled the full USB. I think this is probably common for this unit. I don't plan on buying another one to test. It does work on my Nintendo Switch perfectly and DOES do Dex. I will just have to pair up some bluetooth devices.
Got the Melopow model M002 from Amazon. Very small and light - pocket size. 1 x USB 3, 1 x USB-C (power supply), 1 x HDMI.
Works perfectly with SM-G950F AQL5 (Android 7.0), yet to be tested with CRAP.
Supports DeX and Mirroring, seamlessly transfers audio over HDMI, charges S8 during playback, stays cool all the time.
Pros: as above, also tested with Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse with no issues connected through USB dongle, supports USB flash disks
Cons: only single USB 3.x port, can't connect Samsung portable HDD (but same issue when connected directly to S8 - not enough juice to spin it up)
Was able to get the WDLAND 7 in 1 USBC HDMI hub to work, but needed quick charger to work. Official Samsung Note 8 charger and Lumsing 5 port charger with one QC3.0 port worked. Had to make sure that my battery phone case was removed as the passthrough USB-C seemed to prevent it from working.
Bought the Wofalodata dock, only to find it just charges my S8+, and SLOWLY, even with the adaptive charger my phone came with. I think I might be doing something wrong here.... Anyone else have this one? Any luck with it?
Oh, and I'm on Oreo CRC5.
ZYNUN with S8 Oreo works fine but it need more power for the charger than the office Samsung charger, i used Huawei AP81 charger.

Found out why. It needs a DIRECT HDMI connection. Can't use an HDMI switcher hub.
heyy why didnt you put the full youtube links? kinda anoying no links.....
please fix that, so we can click on the links
Updated with new information, thank you all for contributing! Hopefully people will get plenty of use from this post!
@reggiexp I sadly can't post a direct link to the videos in question until my user rank is higher. For now you are stuck pasting video IDs into YouTube itself. Sorry!
Do ALL third party Dex adaptors require power on Android Oreo (most worked without power adaptors on Android 7)?
I want to update to Oreo but not if I need to plug in a power adaptor to use Dex.

AFAIK, on Oreo, you need to plug in external power for activating dex mode. Even on a hacked kernel, still need external power in my experience..
That's a real let down especially since Oreo is such a nice update (use it on the S7).
Looks like the S8 plus will have to stay on Android 7.
Well I bit the bullet and updated to Oreo on the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
Tested with my third party adaptor and it does require power to go into dex mode but if you remove the power cable you can still use your third party adaptor in mirror mode. That works just fine for me.
Is there a way to use the phone while it's in dex mode (currently it's either a Trackpad or if the USB mouse is connected it's just a black screen)???

Currently, only note 9 have the capability to use the phone while in dex mode. Hopefully that ability will be passed to older dex generation phones.
Thank you for the reply.
anyone tried? Melopow on Oreo update?
i bought Melopow but when i tried there is no Dex mode happen either mirror, its only charge my phone
i plug HDMI and and charger Type C on Melopow
anyone how to make it work?
Hi!
Just to add to the thread: this model from Ali Express works, for both screen mirroring and DeX mode!

I just need to plug the PD power before connecting the USB-C to my Note 8
There are some other brands that sell the same model, I suppose they also work in DeX mode.
Do I need a special power adapter for pass through charging to work correctly? I have a Note8, this hub https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B07B7F835Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and the original Samsung wall charger.
The problem I have is extremely slow pass-through charging, it takes 7 hours to charge 20%. Also it won't work on Dex mode on my Note8 (my galaxy tab S4 does)

HDMI disconnects (S7 AND S7+)

Hi,
I have had a Tab S7 Wifi 128 GB (returned it) and have a Tab S7+ 256 GB 6GB RAM here. I want to use it for streaming games only. I capture on my desktop pc with a AverMedia 4k capture card (but I have 4k and 1080p Elgato cars here as well to test).
I plugin the USB-C Multiport Adapter (EE-P3200) from Samsung and it shows "HDMI connected". Screen mirroring and DEX work, resolution and 60Hz are just fine. But after a few minutes - sometimes more, sometimes less the signal drops with a "HDMI disconnected" message. I have to unplug and plugin the adapter again.
- This happens all the time, on the homescreen, in apps, in games.
- It's not the monitor -> it works with all my devices I have here and I tried
- It's not the adapter -> I also have an Apple adapter, an Aukey adapter and a no-name USB-C to HDMI cable ... all four solutions have the same problem!
- It's not that particular Tab S7(+) -> a brand new S7 and S7+ do the same
- It's not the capture card(s) -> Same behaviour with all 3 cards AND I have an Android Huawei MatepadPro tablet as well as an iPad Pro here that work just fine with all adapters, all cables, all capture cards
I "reset" both the S7 and S7+ even tho both were brand new and sealed. Both were/are on the newest software update from October 1st. The problem existed on the stock software as well.
Any ideas please? The tablet itself is great and the huge screen is simply put amazing. But If I can't use the HDMI output it is useless for me.

I just got an update on my AT&T tab S7 5G with November security. Maybe there is a fix coming for this. I have seen Samsung doing USB C updates to devices recently too.

I just got that update two days ago, but it changed nothing.
I've had about 10 calls with Samsung tech levels 1 and 2. Every call I had to explain every from scratch (even with a case number lol) and every person told me "problem is not known/reported", the last guy I had on the phone told me his colleague (that he was texting with during the call) had multiple customers complain about hdmi disconnects and he (the colleague) was able to reproduce the issue on two S7's himself.
I returned the tablet now as a stable hdmi output is vital for my usecase.
For others having the problem, do you have external power connected to the adapter? Plugging a USB-PD analyzer into the S7 shows it can only source 500mA, which might not be enough for some adapters (especially the ones that are also USB hubs) to work reliably.
So after almost 4 months now I bought a brand new Galaxy Tab S7+ again. New Android version, new OneUI version, same problem.
- 4 different adapters (3 with PD) including the original Samsung EE-P3200
- different HDMI cables (including a 8k certified one)
- issues with a Thomson TV, Sony TV, Asus Monitor, Elgato 1080p capture card, AverMedia 4k capture card
- 3 brand new tablets (S7, S7+ and another S7+)
- all my adapters, cables and devices work 100% fine with: iPad Pro 2017, iPad Air 4, cheap Chinese Windows tablet
Hey yuri. You are not alone. i have the exact same problem. I tryed two different adapters, 3 power brackets. End device is my Elgato Capture card. Tryed it also on my Tv my Beamer and so on... My connection breaks randomly all the time. Its hard to find a solution for this problem.. Tab S7+ 5G

although i had a usb c hdmi hub that i bought for my s8 phone (not that long ago) i found it's actually the power source+hub that's the culprit.
i knew it does need power cable too in when hdmi out-ing however i thought that 1.5-2A charge is just fine and since it was a good build quality usb c hdmi hub that it will be just fine as well
it wasn't until i had accubattery confirm while running that even with the stock quick charge brick in, when Dexxing if the tablet screen is on too there's barely 0,4 Amps surplus charging the tablet battery after all the consumptions.
mind you i had external drive+usb mouse+usb keyb all hooked up at once.
either that (orig quick charger adapter from Samsung) did the trick or the other : LEVIN USB C hub i bought from Amazon
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B083DZ1...abc_A1006ASWRW8EZE438PK9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
but since these two changes my Dexxing is rock solid
at first i thought there's some proprietary trickery is in place that it only works with original Samsung gear (hubs) but i still found these to be too pricey so i got the aforementioned Levin which was of 15.97 gbp inc. posting
hope this helps solving it too

although i had a usb c hdmi hub that i bought for my s8 phone (not that long ago) i found it's actually the power source+hub that's the culprit.
i knew it does need power cable too in when hdmi out-ing however i thought that 1.5-2A charge is just fine and since it was a good build quality usb c hdmi hub that it will be just fine as well
it wasn't until i had accubattery confirm while running that even with the stock quick charge brick in, when Dexxing if the tablet screen is on too there's barely 0,4 Amps surplus charging the tablet battery after all the consumptions.

Well I gave up on the S7(+) long ago already. It did NOT work with the official Samsung power adapter + USB-C adapter.
Also just for testing... I had bought a cheap Samsung Galaxy S5e, and ALL adapters, ALL power bricks, ALL hdmi cables worked with that. Same on a Huawei Matepad Pro and a Lenovo P11 Pro (which I am using now). All my stuff (in every combination) works on all Android tablets (and iPads) that I tried.
And all Samsung "customer support" could tell me after 4 months was "apparently Samsung devices can not suit your needs when using capture cards" (apparently a 1.000 EUR device can not while their 400 EUR tablet can). No comment.
