My keypad continues to make sound in spite of Dial-pad touch tone being turned off. Any other way I can make this go away?

Which keyboard are you using? Check whether you have any option in the keyboard settings which have to be enabled/disabled.

Disable vibrate in ICS

Is there any method to fully disable the vibrate function in ICS? Although it says it's disabled in the settings, it keeps vibrating when i turn of the volume and receive an email for example. I just want it off, at all times.
thx
Wondering this too. Need to turn this off completely. I am getting a loud noise on the top left of tablet when the vibrate goes off.

Go to settings, sound, and uncheck vibrate and ring, and vibrate on touch then retart the tablet. It should not vibrate any more.

That helps for sure, but doesn't disable completely.
For example if you turn the volume on the side of the tablet all the way down it goes off and it will vibrate playing some games.
I'd like to know this too... how to completely disable vibrate at all times (muting, power on/off, in apps, etc).
My vibrate motor started going bad over the last couple days, and now produces an annoying rattle sound.
I don't need the vibrate anyways, so would love to disable it.

I know that can be Turned Off but when I do that it effects Automated systems... Say I was to call somewhere that had one, from my experiences the Automated system wasn't able to recognize the numbers pressed...

[Q] S3 keypad tones

Would anyone know if it is possible to turn off the 'drip' tone when dialling a number and have normal phone dial tones.
Menu --> Settings --> sound --> Keysound on (under System).
Well for me that just allows you to turn the "Drip" on and off.
I don't want a drip, I want a more normal phone tone, as used in tone dialling

did you mean to change the default keypad sound (drip)?
i believe you must replace system sound and of course it need to be rooted..
I would like it to sound like piano keys. Much better than a drip sound.

[Q] How do I make my sound buttons always set to control "Media"?

Hey!
so yeah I wonder how do I change the sound buttons to stop controlling Ringtone sound?
I accidentally click the sound buttons all the time when I put my phone in my pocket ending up removing the ringtone sound and Im missing a ****ton of calls.
My device is rooted.
Buttons ???? what phone model .
Usual sound is set in settings sound .

the I9300, and yeah I have set it up in sound settings but the physical buttons "got higher priority" than the settings (or something like that)
so if I set the ringtone sound under settings to 50% I can still control it (permanently) freely with the buttons

It looks like your device is not locking properly. The volume keys should be disabled when the phone is locked.
Try decreasing the auto-lock timeout or manually lock the device before putting it in your pocket.

Not seeing an option to turn off vibrate when receiving notifications

This isn't my first Galaxy S device so I know my way around all the settings but this one has me scratching my head. When my device is in 'Sound' mode my phone still vibrates when receiving notifications and I'm not seeing an option to turn it off in the Settings or Notification settings. Is anyone else running this issue? or is my phone just odd?
go into settings -> sounds and vibration -> vibration intensity
find the notification slider and turn it all to the left to turn vibrations off entirely

Yup, vibration intensity should give you all the adjustments you need for calls, notifications, etc.
The only problem with this method is that when my device is in 'Vibrate' mode, my device won't vibrate when I receive a notification. I even went to Bestbuy to check out their demo devices, and it turned out that even their devices were missing that option. I don't understand how/why Samsung would leave out such important feature. Fortunately for us, Samsung is one of those companies that actually listen and care about what their consumers want so hopefully they'll release a firmware update that addresses this issue.

I don't want my phone to vibrate while it rings or whenever I receive a text message. I want my phone to vibrate when in 'Vibrate' mode.
Same problem here. They completely removed the option to have your phone not vibrate with texts when sound is on. Wtf
