Huawei Y9 2019 benchmark result - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wanna know why the score is low compare to 8x and 3i even they have the same processor?

Huawei’s Y9 launching 10 January 2019
Huawei will introduce the Y9 to India which is going to be launched in Delhi on 10 January 2019. The Y9 was already released in the Chinese market in October last year. It is also called the Huawei Enjoy 9 Plus in China. It is expected to have the same specifications as its initial release in China.
the fingerprint scanner sensor, however, is situated at the back, a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom, and the phone weighs around 173g. It will be launched tomorrow in India, stay tuned for a detailed review of the Y9, whether this phone is worth buying or not.

I have been around for 2 months now with a Y9 (2019). I really have been impressed by the performance of this phone. For the price range it is a totally recommendable offer because without spending a lot of money you can have a phone that complies with the basic services and even with good results.
Has promised an update to EMUI 9 so it still has support
I've tried Asphalt 9, PUBG, War Wings and they all run great
The battery and the screen are 2 of its strongest points
The camera is the one that does not have the best quality but for its price is acceptable
The Enjoy 9 Plus and this are the same phone, everything is exactly the same, I have had them side by side, only that in the Chinese market is called like that.
Finally ... compared to the 3i you can lose only the materials of construction and in camera, but in the rest is equal in performance

Skip Mate 10pro and wait for Honor V10?

Hey there,
I pre-ordered the Mate 10pro which will arrive in about two weeks here in Germany. Now there are some leaks of the Honor V10 which will be presented on December 5th and will be available probably early in 2018.
The specs seem to be very similar, especially the AI enhanced processor - so my question is:
What is the big difference, what will I lose when I take the V10 instead?
might as well wait a few more weeks. Imagine finding out after you bought a M10P only to find out something just as impressive at a third of the price. only 4 weeks to go.

With the bezeless 18:9 ratio and front fp, the v10 has caught my curiosity as well what they have to offer. Also on the lookout if there will be a Honor Magic, 2nd edition.
That said, no honor phones were on the Mate 9 pro level last year or even standard Mate 9. So i expect the same to be the case here as well. No reason to be disappointed unless your buying the Mate 10 pro with a heavy sigh over its price. Honor phones tick the main boxes like ram and same processor, but tend to cut corners were it is less of a highlight like for example getting a lesser quality display, lesser premium build although a catchy design, weaker audio or loudspeaker, no earphones included and so on. Honor 8 pro currently sold at 475£, so a 64gb V10 should be about 500£.
You also have to wait more for it (time = money) and by the time it releases outside China we get Huawei P11 series ready for launch. And then 2 months after that you get the Honor 10 launched, and so on. Its a never ending game. The timing looks like its launched to compete the Oneplus 5T, so not far fetched to expect the Honor V10 to launch in a particular market close to the OnePlus5T launch.
The main difference will likely be cameras.
If Honor v10 camera dont have OIS, go for mate 10. Other specs will probably the same with mate 10 with usually Honor design a bit better. Better wait for it, maybe can save a lot of money.

That's not essentially true. The Honor V9 was on a par with the Mate 9 Pro, except for the camera. The V9 was better than the Mate 9 having higher resolution screen. The UK version - the Honor 8 Pro was the same, just only came with 64GB internal space.
I must admit I was annoyed after buying my Mate 10 only to see the Honor V10 announced with largely the same specs, but much lower cost!

Honor 8 pro released 4 months after Mate 9 and had the older generation dual 12mp Lecia camera with that iphonish design.
And the other aspect was that, at least in the middle east market the difference between Honor and Huawei was not that large as was the case in China. Out here, it was a difference of 50$ at best. Weirdly the Honor 9 is even costlier than the Huawei P10 and priced as much as Mate 9, see: https://store.hihonor.com/ae/index.php/honor/smartphones).
Whatever the case with V10 whether it makes the Mate 10 series obsolete/overpriced or not, we will know soon.

The same as the V9? That was only 3 months behind it. So in essence, a cheaper Honor phone follows with largely the same specs and about 2/3 the price.
Don't get me wrong - I selected the Mate Pro 9 over the V9 - but if you can't afford the top line Huawei phones, then just wait. In this case, the V10 is not far behind and way better than the Mate 10 Lite.

This part no doubt i agree, if people have real issue with price of Mate 10 series or any other Huawei phones, than you can wait for the Honor phones as that is exactly what the Honor brand addresses with their line of phones.

I've been using P9, Honor 9 and Mate 10,
All i can say is that, this Leica name tag on Mate and P series is not for nothing,
Although Honor camera is no slouch either, but in terms of image processing, P and Mate series are clear winner,
Not to mention that Honor series normally remove OIS from its cam to save price.

Yes, already mentioned.
V10 teaser is about AI
https://weibo.com/2554757470/FuVjQ6deS?refer_flag=1001030103_&type=comment
But i suspect, most of the AI functions would be like the case of Honor Magic that it functions only in China.
It'd have the Kirin 970 chipset eitherway
Thank you all guys for the interesting discussion! I guess I will check out the M10P first. I ordered it via Amazon so I can return it for 30 days.
What are your impressions concerning community support for Honor vs. Huawei here on XDA (custom ROMs, mods, root etc.)?
On other thought is that afaik Honor phones often have a much higher Sar value.
Grrr. The presentation in London was just about the 7x, not the V10 a.k.a. the Honor 9 pro.
This will likely be presented on January 7th...

Différences are :
- LCD Screen for honor 10
- Camera in low brightness
- Phone material
Are mate 10 pro and ni pro will get face unlock? Like v10
Huawei Mate 10
V10 this time is totally different from both Mate 10 series. Only similarity is the Kirin 970 chipset. Otherwise its specs is such that it is different from both Mate 10 and Mate 10 pro. IPS FHD+ 18:9 screen with front fp, older design language, slimmer with smaller battery, different camera specs for front and rear camera, headphone jack and memory expansion slot.

Pricing in India. is it worth?

What u guys think is this phone worth of this price. 33000 rs
Or should we wait for one +6
The OP6 is rumored to start at 37k and I think the marginal improvements and features like wireless charging would be worth the extra 4k. Also, if you're into Honor phones, the view 10 is cheaper in India having the same processor and ram, but with expandable storage and a bigger screen. The Honor 10 would be a better buy abroad as it undercuts the view 10 by €50
Honor is not good in providing updates, development support. HONOR view 10 in India is still with 8.0 and Feb patches. No one knows if they release 8.1 or not. No proper response to users. No proper roadmap of updates. And no volte and AI support in custom roms.
I recommend you to go for Oneplus even if it costs little more.

Ya already made my mind. Bought the amazon voucher also. Definitely going for one plus 6
Seems over priced considering you can get a view 10 for extra £20 and OnePlus 6 for extra £69 both with more ram and OnePlus 6 better development and regular updates , I think the price has killed it before it's even begun and the fact honor slow updating and far to many region firmware floating around gets confusing , better of with the global OnePlus 6 one firmware for all is the way forward ,honor will never learn ?[emoji39]

10 pro vs OnePlus 6T

I need to buy a phone soon. Wife cracked her screen and I will be giving her my mate 9 that I've been pretty happy with.
So I'm looking to buy either a mate 10 pro which is $470 on Amazon or the new OP6T. I've tried both of them out and the 6T is looking very sexy and modern but I reckon that feeling will wear off in a few days. I feel like the 10 pro may have better battery and camera.
Which bring me to my criteria. I need dual sim, good battery and camera and I don't root etc and don't have a problem with Emui.
Thoughts?
Mate 10 Pro have a better camera and better battery.
OP6T looks very good ..
In my opinion (I rooting all my phones).. I don't buy Huawei phone because has removed the community due to blocking access to the bootloader
OP 6T if you don't mind the battery. There's the Google Camera port for the OP 6T plus it supports 4K EIS for video recording. Also the 845 is better than the kirin 970
Well the 6T has an iffy fingerprint reader, the camera sucks (and it's not just the software) and just installing a port of the Google camera doesn't fix that. As far as the CPU goes, that's kind of subjective, the Kirin 970 is a very capable processor. The Kirin 970 has their advanced modem and will give you very good LTE speeds (I'm getting between 45 to 90mbps versus 18 to 24mbps with my mate 9) For a dual SIM phone I would really go with the mate 10 pro BLA-L29 international model, just remember that if you're in the US it won't have any warranty
I like the normal mate 10 over the mate 10 pro. Has headphone jack and front finger print sensor that acts as the 3 buttons too
Granted I don't have a pro version to compare against except on paper specs...
Appreciate the answers. The more I want to get the OP6T the more the 10 pro is looking better. Did the 10 pro dual sim version get the P20 pro night mode? If it did is it as good?
stay away from huawei after closed unlock bootloader service, and also there's no supporting for it,, and if you insist on mate 10 pro stay with Chinese version they have all support for OTA update.
OnePlus 6T is better with SD845 you'll have a lot of supporting from Developers, rom's, kernels, tweaks,, a lots of things.
i bought mate 10, 128G and 6Gb ram and i hate it after fkng huawei closed unlock service.

Why do you assume everyone cares if the bootloader is locked?
IMO the mate 10 pro has better battery life, better camera, and is waterproof (plus I actually like EMUI and its features)
I have the mate 10 pro, battery is very good, but the most you get with pro mode and playing around with many settings... It's not the easy quick perfect picture camera. It has received many updates and it's camera is very capable (night mode of course is not as good as p20pro, it's got different sensors)
The op6t camera is very good. Some people here said it's trash but they are talking Bs. Just take a look for yourself and Google samples from op6 or 6t users. It's a great camera.
But I would go with the op6t any day. The kirin 970 is good on paper and benchmarks but it overheats very fast, I cannot play pubg on lowest settings after 10min it thermothrottles and fps drop. The op6t just has the newer gen CPU which will be important going forward if you are going to keep the phone for 3+ years.
The op6t battery is very similar in size I don't think the difference should be too big to be a deciding factor. Both have fast face unlock though the fingerprint reader ist different. Decide what you like better.
All in all I think op6t is the more up to date phone which will also receive more updates and has better hardware for the upcoming 3years of use. The m10pro is more like the old, strong buddy that can still keep up. But the question is for how long.
I've been using the mate 10 Pro for nearly a year. Mine is running June security update and no software update for 5 months.
I'm selling my mate 10 Pro and buying the OnePlus 6t this week.
I've had enough of Huawei lack of support and updates.
I wouldn't buy Huawei again.
I've been using a regular mate 10 for a year and mine stays up to date. I don't use anything special, the updates just come over the air. It seems some people don't get updates but both my mate 9 and 10 keep getting updates.
What update you are looking for? Mate 10 Pro has all security patches. If you are talking about Android 8.1 it is not that major update and maybe that is why only China models received it. The next Major Android 9 will soon be available and that's what matters.
UK version C782 are still on June security patch and 132. We are 6 months behind with bug fixing updates improvements and most important security! We have been left behind in the UK and that is why we are all jumping ship
10 pro. I already had oneplus devices, and didn't like them as much as I did with the Huawei ones. Imo, the build quality is far better. It's on par with Apple. The camera is fantastic. The battery is a major goal. At first, I was having problems to get use with EMUI, in the end I passed to like it. It's not as good as oxygen os, but it's have been improving. So, I'll keep my 10 pro for more 6 months or a year.

Hu, something's wrong with your device. I play PUBG on higher setting everyday with coworkers at lunch, and I can play at least 30 minutes (since pause are not longer than that) consuming only 13% battery (not from 100%) and getting a 30-35°C that is not so hot, comparing to iPhone 8S that drain twice as much and can be barely kept in hand for the same lenght of time. Maybe some phone are better, but well, mate 10 pro is really good a handling games. My nintendo switch got hotter than that...
That said, I do not like the overhsarpening/oil-ing effect of the camera, so, even mid-tier camera are better for me, I would not go for the mate 10 for the camera.

I'm not, albeit I've rebranded to c432. I had an OP3 and came to Huawei primarily for the battery life, and here the Mate 10 pro still has nearly 10% bigger battery.

as you like,, and you already like it!! and it's just opinion :good: no one force you to not buying it,, for me i like that things like unlocked bootloader and root and play in system and change rom's etc,, and i wish to replace my mate 10 with OnePlust 6t,, or other brand.
regards
Anything but Huawei. With a custom ROM things are okay, but relying on Huawei to update? Yes, they currently still treat this device as a flagship. But my other phone, a P10 Plus already lagging behind. Luckily I do have the bootloader unlocked on that device, so that's a relief.
If I had to do a comparison, Huawei updates are like Samsung. Be glad if you ever get them. Is OnePlus that great? Nope. Fingerprint sucks, camera sucks, battery sucks, warranty is the worst out of any manufacturer.
What to buy? Great question!
Been struggling with the same problem. There is just no choice on the market without compromise. Huawei had it all with the large battery, best of the best inside, but they decided to flip off customers and disallow the bootloader unlock.
Rip. I would probably buy a OnePlus 5T, Poco F1 (has no NFC and some screens have touch issues).

If you were to change...

Hi folks I just shattered the screen of my Redmi Note 3 SD version (RN3). I had this phone since early 2016 and though it's still working and I could prolly do a service job on it for $50 and extend its life to a year or so I feel sticking to this phone any further wouldn't be to my advantage.
So I'm in the market for a new phone and I would really love to hear your precious advise so I may get the best available option for my hard earned bucks.
My budget is around $350. I'm not a brand fan boi, I don't mind going for unknown brands if the build quality is there. B/C with a good build quality you can get the best out of your phone under XDA. So when I go for a smartphone the features I pay attention to are:
1-If the phone can handle recent games. If a phone can handle recent games odds are high that it will perform well in everyday life.
2-It must have a great community under XDA so that if the manufacturers aren't arsed to push updates, you can still get the best out of your phone by for e.g flashing a custom rom or the Google cam or flash the latest security patch and so on.
3-The camera specs should be good (not expecting pixel3 stuffs or p30 results), but should be able to take good shots when I go on road trips.
Having said that, phones that have caught my eye so far are the Huawei Y9(2019 version) and the Xiaomi Poco Phone F1. So what do you lads think!
The Huawei Y9 is out as per your stated requirements as they don't even allow bootloader unlocking. There might be unofficial methods. Poco F1 looks to be the best choice but I don't know if the initial issues like backlight bleeding, touch latency etc have been fixed. Redmi Note 7 Pro is another decent option but the price difference between its 6GB model and Poco F1 base variant is too little. Realme has opened up BL unlocking but the pace of development doesn't seem very encouraging. Otherwise the Realme 3 Pro appears to pack solid hardware. Dunno when the Poco F2 will be launched.

Wait for Mi A3 . not sure its launching date. it is android one device. Bootloader unlocking is very easy for android one phone.
Updates will given by google and not xiaomi. Also u will get 3 android updates. Spec will be same like rn7 pro.
Or buy rn7 pro. It has QC 4.0 charging and 4000mah battery.
From Kenzo, I used Tissot which is Mi A1 and now lavender which is Redmi Note 7.
Redmi Note 7 aka lavender as of now has very minimal development going on based on xda threads available. But the good thing is that it supports treble so gsi will provide you with a lot of custom rom and me myself is using a GSI now. Violet aka Note 7 Pro on the other hand has a better development than lavender. It has great camera too considering you are using gcam to full utilize the camera and also lavender's camera is Greta as well but not as good as violet. Lavender has Snapdragon 660 and violet has Snapdragon 675.

Honor 9X global variant launches in India after a long wait, Honor Magic Watch 2 and

Huawei and sub-brand Honor have been badly hit due to the U.S. President Trump’s executive orders to bar companies (including Google) from transacting with the Chinese giant. The orders came in May 2019 and since then, there have been multiple extensions to the final date when these orders come into play, leading to a long period of confusion and frustration for company officials, fans, and especially Huawei and Honor users. After a long hiatus from what seems to be a speculative period for the company, Honor is bringing the Honor 9X – which was actually introduced last year – to India.
The Honor 9X was first unveiled alongside a more powerful Pro variant in July 2019, in China. The phone features an X-shaped holographic gradient on the back, a full notchless display, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a pop-up selfie camera. Further, both the Honor 9X and the 9X Pro were powered by Huawei’s new 7nm silicon, the Kirin 810.
However, when Honor launched the phone in Europe in October 2019, there were certain trade-offs that had to be made. Since the executive orders prevented new Huawei and Honor devices from being certified for Android, the company had to choose older hardware to be able to retain GMS (Google Mobile Services). Therefore, there is only a single global version of Honor 9X; it comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 12nm Kirin 710F chipset (same as Kirin 710) and the same is being launched in India today.
The Honor 9X which is being launched in India today is also fairly identical to the Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) in terms of design. The 6.59-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display, 4,000mAh battery, USB Type-C, and the 16MP pop-up
camera are some of the physical attributes both of the phones share besides the Kirin 710F SoC. When it comes to the rear cameras, the Honor 9X global features a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
In terms of software, the Honor 9X runs EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie. The phone could receive EMUI 10 based on Android 10 but there’s no final date available yet.
