In developer mode i set the bluetooth codec to aptx-hd but whenever the phone reboot it will be back to sbc.
Using aosp 8.1.
1-) Is there a way to force the codec to stay aptx-hd even after reboot?
2-) Are they software to check is the rom configure the blutooth codec correctly for eg it show the codec is aptx not sbc?

AAC automatically used with airpods?

I'm using airpods with Sony XZ1c with Android 9.
On developer options there is a chance to select a bluetooth codec, and AAC among the options.
Is AAC automatically used? That is, can i keep the "default", or should i force the aac option?
Thanks

force aptx HD instead of ldac

Hi i'm using the earstudio ES 100 bluetooth dac which supports LDAC and Aptx HD high end codecs.
As i prefer the sound of aptx hd above ldac i would like to know if there is a way to force it setting aptx hd as the system default?
In some annoying way ldac is always forced as default codec. I can change to aptx hd in developer menu but you need to do this every time when you reboot the device. Phone resets to ldac after every reboot
Ldac is also broken on custom kernels
You can change the default codec from developer settings.

blutooth codec

So I have ViperFX and XHiFi running together, and working. I wanted to use Xhifi for the audio reconstruction feature for the speakers, and FX for my bose qc35.
As I was poking around checking and changing settings, I checked my blutooth codec under developer options and it was set to sbc, and wouldn't let me change it. My old phone only supported sbc, so I never tried any other codec, but it was my understanding that these headphones supported the aac codec. When I go under blutooth devices, theres an option for HD AAC Audio and its enabled, but when I check under developer options it still says sbc. does anyone else have issues changing their codec?

Bluetooth headphones Force AAC codec?

I have a Mi headphones and hoco es24 booth support AAC
But for some reason they use SBC when i connect them to my poco
I tried to use the force option in developer settings but it always switch back to SBC
Any ideas? im rooted and running Miui 11.0.6
did you manage to solve this? I can use only SBC and AAC but not LHDC. which is weird as in dev settings I do see LHDC versions but it won't stick when choosing.
To overcome the SBC I just went to dev settings and switched to AAC and it sticked.

A way to force a particular Bluetooth codec as default?

Is there a way of forcing a particular Bluetooth codec as default? I use Airpods Pro for workouts, and I find SBC codec to be much more stable in terms of connectivity than default AAC, but it's quite annoying to switch manually to SBC in Developer Options every time I connect my Airpods Pro to my S9+.
I actually found an easy solution: include _NOAAC in the name of the device (i.e., I'm using AirpodsPro_NOAAC), and it will skip AAC codec and choose the next best one, which is SBC in my case.
Or maybe not... It's inconsistent.
